Tried the Sunday Carvery ,first time in a few years . Staff welcoming and professional.Carvery Beef& Pork -very good potion size /Veg average and Roast Potatoes slightly undercooked ..Gravy nice and a good selection of sauces .Table was sticky . All my comments are to improve the Carvery experience when we return 👍

We stopped here for their carvery, there was 8 of us and everyone cleaned their plates! The meet was cooked perfectly, and despite the usual undersized plates which are standard for carvery’s; we could still get plenty of their amazingly cooked veg on our plate. The gravy was thicker than you’d normally see at places like this which was perfect! Top marks Enmore Inn!!!!

We held a celebration of life here and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They arranged a carvery for us and the quality of the food was excellent, so often I find pub roasts very disappointing but this was a cut above. Will definitely return in the near future.

The Sunday carvery was nice but the service was awful. We had to ask when we could go and get our food after 20 minutes of waiting. Then once finished no one came to clear the table and no one offered us any desserts, even after we asked the waitress if they did any. They need to sort out there staff

We were fortunate to have permission from the staff to stopover for few days, parked in our motorhome in the car park, for carnival weekend. We could not have asked for better hospitality, the staff were excellent, we were made to feel very welcome, lovely atmosphere. The food was great, the Sunday carvery must have a special mention, top quality with great service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be revisting.

"EXCELLENT"!!! They do an "absolutely excellent" Sunday Carvery from 12 - 3pm!!! I was down from Liverpool visiting my elderly father who walks with a walker and has dementia, but mum & dad often went there in the past, so, I thought it would be good for him and it was!!!! There are several steps inside and the staff were amazing 👏 so very kind and accommodating, wonderfull, lovely people!!! 😄 The food was not just excellent, but, "SUPERB" - the meat had been slow cooked and was delicious 😋 hot, all home cooked and plenty of it, furthermore, the lovely lady chef serving was so very helpful!!! (By the way, I advise to book in advance as it's very popular)!!! "VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"!!! (Just as a sidenote, many years ago, my brother Nick & I, spent all our school holidays working on "Purnell's Farm" Stonehall Lane, Enmore, as our Nan lived in the bungalow there and we would often "stick-up" for the skittle team at the "Enmore Inn", much has changed, but, to be there brought back such memories👍)!!! Thankyou for such a wonderfull meal!!

Sent here by the incredibly odd landlord at The Tynte Arms (look them up for the prequel to this review!). Danny and the rest of the team were absolutely fantastic and couldn't do enough to accommodate us - a family without a booking during a busy Sunday lunchtime service. We'd left the flooding at Minehead and were desperate for some comfort and good, warm food and The Enmore Inn delivered both in spades: Veggie carveries were whipped up and me, my wife, and infant daughter were made to feel incredibly welcome. We're not in this part of the country often but, if we are again, we would absolutely return.

Myself and a friend went to the enmore inn today, a table for 2. When we got there we were seated and was told by the waitress she would take our drinks order which she did within a couple of minutes. After the drinks arrived we were told nothing about how the carvery system works. A table of 6 sat down after us and within 10 minutes they where invited up to go for there carvery. So I asked the waitress when our turn would be she said that we would be next. Went up to get the carvery and the meat was very dry, the potatoes were flavourless and the broccoli was over cooked. The waitress didn’t once come over and ask us to see if everything was okay with the food or if we would like anymore drinks. When we went up to pay another lady took payment and again we didn’t get asked how are food was or an apology for leaving us for so long between a drink and taking us to get our carvery. We left feeling very disappointed and will not be returning.

A staff meme we apologised for the wait due to staff shortages but personally didn't think we waited long for food, was lovely to be updated and have a friendly chat along with the update. Notwithstanding a wonderful meal we were so impressed to learn that the wonderful hardworking staff forego their well earned tips so that the owners of this charitable establishment can donate the customer's gifts to charity. I can only assume this is down to the generous pay and conditions the staff enjoy that they are content to see their hard earned gratuities being given away to a good cause. It would be lovely to know to which cause the staff donate.

Went for Sunday lunch on booking day before. Carvery only option but when asked about the vegetarian option the chef grumbled that we should have notified them before. Made us feel uncomfortable. Was offered vegetable lasagne but vegetarian in group said she would just have vegetables. Beef was excellent but all the rest a disappointment, all frozen or tinned and watery.Decided to give desserts a go and looked ok when came out but sadly I found a hair straight away so back it went to the kitchen and another one brought out.Would not recommend for Sunday lunch unless they started to use fresh vegetables.Chef needs to improve attitude towards customers and owner said very little when I complained about lack of vegetarian hospitality and hair in dessert.Cost ok for 3 people but would rather pay more and get better food.

Our visit to the pub was based on their website advertising i.e. "local and fresh" I should have checked here before as our experience was similar to others who have posted. The leaseholders clearly have not learned from others comments about frozen vegetables...they were awful. The Barnsley chop ordered had also been frozen so was well cooked on the outside but cold and red on the inside. We visited on a Saturday evening and gained the impression that the licensees "cater" for the local barflies who, whilst being perfectly fine people, seemed to be the focal point of the pubSadly I managed to get short measured on three separate drinks orders.I was having a little celebration (!), first a pint with the top inch missing then, twice, some strange maneuverings with a brandy optic. As an ex-licensee myself I tend to notice things like that!I was not impressed by the landlord eating a large roll and the landlady drinking behind the bar whilst chatting to the locals: not what I would describe as professional. In addition there was no soap and faulty hand driers in both gents and ladies toilets. No print-out/summary or receipt was offered for the large evening meal and drinks bill. We left wondering....

We ate here twice on a recent trip to the area - both during the week in the evening. The owners are really friendly and welcoming and there is a huge selection of food including a number of specials each day. They also cater for gluten free needs which is really handy. The portions are on the large size - but that's better than going home hungry! Definitely recommend it.

Nice place good atmosphere. Main meal was very good , desert was very poor neither the quantity or the quality was there.Perhaps another choice would have been different but 2 of us had Apple Crumble, it was more like stewed apple with custard and just a sprinkling of crumble, just like the stuff you buy in a packet in the supermarket. I'm trying to be fair but when you pay an additional £4.95 for it you expect better. As they would say in Star Trek. It was crumble Jim but not as we know it!!

I recently visited the Enmore inn for lunch with a small group of friends. Having not been in the place for some years I was some what reticent about going there as I had not made the booking. Well, I was delighted when I walked in and we were warmly welcomed by Sarah and Mark. The pub has a very welcoming atmosphere and comfortable environment which leaves one not wanting to leave. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and enjoyed by us all. Nothing was too much trouble even when one of our party wanted something slightly different to the menu. Large selection of Specials on the board. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pork Roulade with cider cream sauce. Delicious. Desserts looked good although I didn't have room to partake ! I enjoyed my meal and visit so much that I returned the following day with a friend for lunch and was welcomed back as if I was an old friend! Jut had a sunday roast at this pub and not at all impressed with the food; or the attitude of the landlord. The roast dinner consisted of a huge portion of meat that was well cooked apart from that everything else was unedible. Frozen vegetables that were chewey and luke warm. A yorkshire pudding that was so heavy and stodgey.potatoes that were obviosly deep fried. Cauliflower cheese that was a weird shade of orange and didnt taste of cheese at all. When the lady asked if all was ok i actually told her it wasnt and handed her my yorkshire pudding as an example of my meal. She offered to get me another one but i reckon they were probably all made from the same batter so politly declined. My friend struggled with her beef as had a very fatty piece but ate as much as she could. When the landlord cleared the plates he could see i had left all of mine but made no comment. When we went up to the bar i waited to see if any deduction had been made for my uneaten meal but it hadnt. I told the landlord i wasnt paying for mine as i found it unedible. I said i would be happy to leave my name and address according to the law. He didnt seem to be aquainted with this law and questioned the fact that i wasnt paying.he seemed very annoyed and tried to embarrass me by telling me he didnt want me back in his pub again and to leave. His attitude stinks most people in hospitality businesses have better social skills and an apology would have been nice after all i had missed my lunch and wasted my time. Needless to say i wont be going back and wouldnt recommend anyone else too.

Me and my husband live quite close to the Enmore Inn and haven’t been for some time due to some of the previous tenants. We heard that the owners Mark and Sarah have now been running the place themselves and what a difference! The place is lighter, warmer and much more welcoming. We were early, so sat at the bar chatting with them both and what a lovely couple. They have the right approach to the job and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The menu was varied and there’s also a good selection on the specials board. All meals reasonably priced and some lovely little touches to remind you that you are in the countryside. My husband had a steak and ale pie and I had a lamb shank with mash and veg. Good sized portions and very tasty. Pints are good quality too. There’s also a range of options for dessert from crumble to lemon meringue pie, bannoffe pie to chocolate brownie. All traditional meals you ideally want when you go out to eat in a pub. All in all a team positive change to this place and we will definitely be back and with friends. Highly recommended!!

First night out together for a while after my friend had her baby, had been looking forward to going to Enmore inn, unfortunately it was not a good experience, when our food came out one of the meals had a hair in it, it was bad enough that the food was inedible but there was no apology, whilst my friend was trying to decide whether to order something different in front of the waitress I picked up my fork and also found a hair in my own food, this was snatched away and then still no apology but instead we were made to feel like we had planted the hairs in our food!! We had to then arrange to be picked back up and left! It was not the night out we had hoped for, very disappointed, shame though, my family used to love going there for lunch and spending a Saturday afternoon out there in the summer.

Ok so the pub has been decorated tasteful but what it lacks is ... Well it's not over relaxing being sat so close to other people you feel like your sat on top of the people behind you. They have even put a table over the well, why on earth would you put a table over such a lovely unique feature. Whomever writes the special board needs some training as it looked like it had been hand written by a child plus I would not class Ham Egg and Chips as a special.

Delicious gammon for me & pork escalope with cider sauce for husband. Decor was nicely modernised, with log fires and fire burners dotted around & Christmas trees giving a seasonal flair. Superb atmosphere, the best steak I’ve had in my life! (10oz fillet) chef was so down to earth and welcoming - showed us different cuts of steak and told us about their source. Went above and beyond for service - orders taken quickly and all staff friendly and polite. Felt a very cosy and happy little village pub. Will definitely be back for more steak and the fresh salad bowls that come with it! :) Thank you so much ☺️
