My wife and I ate at the cafe in the Whitgift Centre in Croydon, Surrey on 19th June 2021. It was run by Italian people I think. They were essentially an English cafe mixed with European influences. The menu choice was good and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and professional. The food were presented well and tasted well. The only negative was it was cash only payments. Would recommend to groups, families, couples and singles too.

Not the best poor decor so overpriced. £2-90for a small latte and £2-30 for a small coke served in a plastic cup. To say we are in a pandemic toilets weren’t clean either .

The cafe is clean and basic. The menu is very big and they have daily specials. My usual is the omlette which comes with either frtench fries or salad. I usually have the salad which contains letuuce, peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, coleslaw and cooked beans such as chick peas. The omlette is big and filling. The food is served piping hot. My only complaint would be the coffee served is weak and thats from someone who isnt a fan of strong coffee.

What to do when you want a quick hot lunch. Get an ommelette. My choice of oinon cheese and ham was I thought a good one. The cafe was empty so no problem with a table and the server was ready with menu and pen. My order was placed quickly and arrived just as quick. Nothing like a hot lunch and this was very hot. It was a home style not what you expect to be served from a restaurant. Some parts over cooked some done okay. I guess I would go back but not have the ommelette. The staff were attentive and polite no sweet chilly or BBQ sauce..

My wife and I stumbled across this cafe in the Whitgift Centre in Croydon looking to have breakfast. The interior of the cafe is clean and the tables are well placed giving a nice comfortable ambience. The waitress that served us was friendly and very responsive. But any positive comments stop there. Reading the menu, you might believe you are having breakfast on Park Lane in the West End of London as the prices were quite expensive. I ordered a bacon roll with a cup of black coffee; my wife ordered two fried eggs and a cup of tea. It appeared that the fried eggs were cooked in too much oil while my bacon roll was ok; not great but ok. However, the cup of black coffee I ordered was terrible; it was very weak and tasted like a bad cup of instant coffee. So overall the ambience was good, service was good but the food, value for money and especially the coffee does not earn any kudos from me. Won't be going back to that place anytime soon.

This place is in a great location in the Whitgift centre and the menu is good and varied. Unfortunately it is let down by miserable and unsmiling staff so you don’t feel welcome. The food is average but the coffee while hot is incredibly weak, I’m guessing that there isn’t much coffee in it. Overall a very poor experience.

Went about lunchtime. The place is obviously popular. The Spanish omelette and salad was good, as was the chilli and chips (although the amount of chilli could have been more...) nice to sit outside and still be inside (inside the mall), so out of the weather. Cost was reasonable, service friendly. And they serve beer.

The restaurant is always popular and busy but they do have external seating. Service is quick and the food is good and reasonably priced. Not your "High" dinning but good basic food.

Four of us all had breakfast here last week, very nice, good selection, even vegetarian sausages, bubble and squeak, nuggets for the kids and great value. Bit strange that the toast came out buttered, and that there was milk in the coffee when we got it, but overall, very nice, and good friendly service

I've had breakfasts in a few places in Croydon but this is by far the worst. Being a vegetarian, I realise that menus can be limiting but I didn't expect the service or food that I got. Let me start with the food. I'd asked for a poached egg instead of a fried egg, which I was told by the waitress that this would be okay. I went to my seat and was then told that I would be charged an extra 25p for thsi change (As mentioned above I have been to a few breakfast places and this is the first that has asked for an extra amount!). Anyway I let this slide and waited for the breakfast 1 poached egg, mushrooms, baked beans, a 'vegetarian' sausage and bubble and squeek with brown bread. I got what looked like a sludge of wierd tasking B&S and a veg sausage that looked and tasted like a cigar shaped version of the B&S. The only things that were edible were the beans, toast and mushrooms. The coffee was terrible too! The service - On finishing, I was told that they would only take cash payment - the only place I could see notification of this was in the corner of the shop where payments are to be made. The waitress informed me where the nearest cash machine was and I went to get cash (bear in mind this was a total of £6.25). I'd walked a couple of minutes before I heard the waitress calling me asking for some security before I went to get the cash...did I mention this was for £6.25...apart from the embarrasment I gave her my mobile and went to get the money. I returned and explained that I'd not had the best of breakfasts or experiences - and the man at the cash register pointed to a credit card on the wall and said we had fakes here - I really don't understand what he was trying to suggest or respond with...apart from that he really didn't have a word of care or apology and was really disappointed with the whole experience.

This is my regular when I'm at The Whitgift Center. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is efficient. Great selection on the large menu so the options are enormous. Can't go wrong have something to eat here.

Popped in for breakfast (served until 12). Plenty of Full English choices with minor variations: black pudding, hash browns, chips etc. Also veggie options. Delighted to see choice between beans (yuk) or tomatoes (properly cooked). Recommended!
