We went often to "The Bistro", always with our little dog (westie) like to every pub or reataurant we go. Most of the times outside, but sometimes (at least two times) inside and the dog was not a problem. Today we were refused inside, because the rule would be "no dog inside", but this is a lie because we have been there with the dog under the table at previous occasions. We reminded them about the previous situations, but they confirmed, that their "rules" do not accept dogs inside. There are in fact arbirary rules, applied when they decide according to the client look or to their mood. This is not acceptable, and the so-called rule is not written anywhere to make the customers aware of this. We won't go to this place anymore.

I havent visited for a couple of years and my last review was ages ago-since when the ownership, service and food have been hugely upgraded. This is my go to for quality reliable feed. Service is excellent , there is a good range of hearty fare and outside roadside seating for the warm weather. They also do take outs if you are rushed. There should be more places like this in the area instead of the characterless rip offs in teddington High Street. I want feeding not fleecing.

I had a chicken and avocado baguette and for £6.9 feel very disappointed. No butter, probably not even half a chicken breast and a few slices of avocado. Would you pay £6.9?

We were so scared after reading those unsatisfactory reviews. Everything went well and smooth as soon as we have been seated. Friendly service and delicious food.

We are a bunch of NYers and love our diners back home. The Bistro had good coffee and tea, unlike the review below, one of us loved our scrambled eggs and toast, I enjoyed the sausage and bacon and eggs. And another one of enjoyed the full breakfas with beans and eggs. We will return to this place on this trip! Even with the horrible exchange rate for us...we thought it was very good in terms of price! Thank you for excellent service too! Felt like home :)

The Bistro is a nice café, and most of the staff are friendly. The food is normally ok, but avoid the scrambled eggs as they are served very undercooked, on the verge of raw, and the sausages are cheap and not very tasty.

I first visited the Bistro in 2004 before moving to the area. Went back today and had a breakfast - one of the many breakfast options on the menu this included black pudding and bubble n squeak so how could I resist? The atmosphere is good - a few tables outside or by the window as well as plenty of seating inside. Coffee was also quite palatable which is often an issue in long-established cafes.

Had breakfast here, wasn't expecting much and didn't even get that. Found the breakfast overpriced, the fried bread was saturated, the sausages were the cheapest catering ones you can buy. Very disappointed.

What fantastic bistro, I wish I had visited sooner. The atmosphere was great, The bistro had character, was clean and set out well. The food offered was varied, tasty, cooked well and did not cost a fortune. The staff were pleasant, helpful, will be going there again. Would recommend this bistro, if you are in the area or wanting to find a favorite place to eat at.

The menu at lunchtime offered a good variety of very reasonably priced dishes for our recent visit accompanied by two very hungry babies. The staff were extremely helpful and immediately provided two high chairs and also very rapidly, the requested beautifully cooked Spanish omelette to satisfy the young appetites. Two large chunky pieces of cod in very good crisp batter and a good sized chunk of fresh lemon came with chips and salad . The substantial portion of chips were well cooked and tasty. Tartare sauce was brought and other sauces were also offered. My daughter's scampi, I was assured, were also tasty. Chilled glasses of water were brought in addition to my Efes beer and my friend's diet coke. We felt guilty at the dropped food under the babies' seats, but the staff assured us that it was no problem. We had all enjoyed a delicious, relaxing meal with lovely, considerate service. I look forward to returning when next in the area.

Personal amable y eficiente.

Such a shame. This used to be our local standard for good hearty food and decent service. The previous owner kept it up to scratch but he's sold it and moved on recently. The service is now unsmiling and surly. Such a change. The food is more or less the same but the place has changed for the worse. Sloppy. Interestingly. the last owner bought it as a greasy spoon burger place and transformed it and now it looks like its going back that way.

The rudest staff i have encountered at any cafe. This place used to be so nice but now it has changed hands the staff are appallingly rude. When i was asking about an item that was brought to the table the waiter walked off! The woman snatched money off me when i was paying and her scowl never left her face. Will NEVER go back here. It is a real shame as my friends and I used to enjoy the breakfasts and the odd bacon sandwich. It is also clear that most of the staff barely understand English, and don't expect a clean table either.

It does a wide variety of home cooked hot food and sandwiches. There is a large indie area and a very nice outdoor place as well, though that's were all the smokers end up. We went here as a family whilst staying at our holiday home last weekend for a full English breakfast, and let's just say, we will not be going back. We ordered our drinks after a long wait for any customer service, the vanilla milkshake was just milk in a glass and all the hot drinks were cold, the only drink that was good was the bottled water. The food arrived quickly, but the quality was appalling, the meat was cheap, and it strangely came with bread and butter so we had to pay separately for toast.I don't think I have ever witnessed such rude staff, they had no interest in helping anyone, and anything we asked for was a major issue and we got a lot of backchat. There was also a bit of a language barrier, as the staff found it hard to understand our order. Can honestly say I will never be going back and will be taking my business to the fabulous café L'Amandine across the road.

We went there this morning for breakfast with friends who have a dog before going to Richmond Park for a walk. They very kindly set up two tables for us outside where there were others having breakfast. It seems this is quiet a popular place. I ordered a full English breakfast and Tea. The tea arrived first and alas it was lukewarm and lacking in flavour. I re-ordered a second one and it came piping hot and was much better. English breakfast consisted of bacon, sausage, baked beans, an egg, mushrooms and bread. I was impressed with the bread - it was a real bread rather than tasteless sliced bread. Ok it wouldn't win any prizes for taste and I have had better but at less than a fiver how it was good value for money. My wife had smokes salmon and scrambled eggs and she enjoyed that. Our friends had the same as me.Service was so so, nothing special, this is not the place for that, but it was effective. There was no service charge so we left a tip.

Simple lunch with family, which I am afraid despite the best efforts of the proprietors, was not really up to scratch.I had the chicken grill which was simple, perhaps too simple, little seasoning, basic chips, mushrooms and tomatoes. I could best describe it as boring and lack lustre. Food was reasonable quality, cooking was only passable, it lacked depth of flavour, succulence or that little bit of WOW that could be got from cooking fresh ingredients well. The service was good and a real family friendly atmosphere on a busy week day lunch. The value for money was OK, but if this Bistro is to really hold on, they need to go through the menu and review each dish and decide how best to flavour, cook and present it well.Propped up by attentive and enthusiastic service this venue only manages a poor 2 stars from me overall. The less than average food, pulls down the value for money score, as poor food is not good value at any price.

We have been using The Bistro for a few months for breakfast and the food is normally quite good but just lately it's been a bit greasy. The staff are friendly but a bit too over anxious to clear the plates away, quite often while you're still eating your food. Hint - don't put your knife and fork down until you've totally finished or else they'll be on you! The food is quite expensive, especially if you veer off the set breakfast menus, but is normally good value. We haven't yet tried The Bistro for an afternoon or evening meal but will be doing so soon

My family have been going to this place for years. I know the owner Jimmy, we even had my father's wake here, as the years have gone on the quality has got worse and worse.I don't live in the area any more but today we visited my mum and went there for lunch. As I went to pay I was asked if everything was alright and the lady behind the counter didn't like my answer. I said "no it was a bit horrible actually" she literally flew in to a rage.I was Told "it must be you! We sell these all day and no one else complains" I was gobsmacked! Then she raced over to my mother and basically intimidated her into saying everything was fine.My 3 year old had chicken nuggets and as soon as they turned up I knew she wasn't going to eat them as they looked horrible and we're hard as bullets, I had a sausage roll and the sausage was cheap as cheap even the ketchup was cheap and thin.I feel bad because my elderly mother goes there most days and kind of treats it as social club, but this visit left a bad taste and not just from the poor quality food. There's another coffee shop across the road, from now on I'll take my mother there when I visit.

This is neither greasy spoon cafe nor over styled, twee "Vintage" cafe. It"s a very friendly, excellent value community hub serving outstandingly good value breakfasts as well as a variety of lunches, salads, paninis etc. Always busy and reliably good, from breakfast all the way through to closing time in the late afternoon. Particularly popular for weekend brunches, whether you need to set yourself up for an afternoon of DIY, cure a massive hangover or just have a darn good feed and catch up with friends! Nice to know you can do any of the above without breaking the budget. Recommended.

This is a great cafe on Ham Parade, Richmond Road, Kingston and is open from 6.30am to 4pm.- very useful for those working nearby. Nothing like a "greasy spoon" cafe, everything here is freshly cooked, not at all greasy and with lots of variety. For lunches there are also jacket potatoes, pastas, mediterranean dishes and specials of the day including fish n chips.Staff are very friendly and efficient, you never have to wait long for your food to be served, even when they are very busy. Popular also with locals, particularly for weekend breakfasts. Seating outside for smokers. Not open in evenings. Useful cheap parking outside.

Possibly the worst cooked breakfast we’ve ever attempted to eat . The service was polite and no problems there but the food was simply awful . Processed ham , a pale fried egg and some frozen chips . Indelible and the little I ate repeated on me all day , my daughter felt quite unwell after attempting to eat the full English - managed 1 sausage toast and a few beans . Go over the bridge and there are some beautiful cafes instead.

Nice place, but food really poor. There must be a mess in the kitchen, as pieces of fish found itself stuck under the vegan garlick bread. Fish and chips - fish soft and soggy.

Absolutely recommend The Wharf. We were there for my sisters 50th birthday Barbara, Debbie & KP were all very accommodating even though it was the festive season menu we could tweak it so my sister felt it was her actual birthday not Christmas! Food was impeccable atmosphere was electric with a DJ which made the party come alive! A huge shout out to KP for being our right hand man making sure our celebrations went off without a hitch. The staff were always at hand making sure we had a great night. The Wharf is an amazing venue for couples families or friends. This is my 2nd big event at The Wharf as we had a big retirement/work do in the summer with a huge buffet accommodating nearly 100 guests. As I said I would highly recommend The Wharf. Can’t wait to go back in the new year.

We have enjoyed eating here in the past but on this occasion it was a definite deux points. When you pay nearly £50 for two small plates of fish and chips and two pints of cider you expect it to be better than the fish and chips at Morrisons. Instead the fish was dry and clearly not restaurant quality while the chips were indifferent at best. If I’d paid £8 in a cafe I would have been disappointed but in a “bistro” pub that pretends to be a Belgian style restaurant it feels like yet another eating establishment that has lost its way.
