Encore in Highland

Had a lovely tasty lunch with very good service. Very organised with the one way system, sanitiser and the registration form for customer details. Staff were very friendly and had a great sense of humour After our lunch we stayed for a few drinks as our table wasn’t re- booked until later . Felt very safe and relaxed. Definitely go back here again and certainly recommend.

We arrived in Inverness for a brief two night stay last month. We hadn't booked a restaurant in advance and we stumbled across Encore Une Fois walking by the River Ness on our first night.They had a spare table, so in we went. An absolutely fabulous stroke of luck for us as the food was excellent and so was the service.We enjoyed ourselves so much on this first night that we went back here for dinner on the second night.

Dado el tiempo (septiembre de 2020), la seguridad de covid fue un tema importante y nos sentimos muy seguros aquí. La comida era mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos por un precio tan razonable. El maitre fue extremadamente servicial y acogedor y su camarera recientemente contratada resultó ser una experta en whisky que hizo excelentes sugerencias. No era el restaurante más concurrido de Inverness, pero merecía serlo. Nos gustó tanto que terminamos viniendo tres noches seguidas.

We went in for a meal after shopping, the inside is lovely and the staff so friendly, all measures in place so felt really safe, food was sooo good, definitely recommend, we both ended up having 3 courses.

Sorprendido por el aspecto y la calidad de la comida, hamburguesa de pollo y mozzarella y especial, pechuga de pollo rellena con haggis y verduras mixtas, salsa de crema de whisky Ambos eran ingredientes de calidad y cocinados a la perfección, servidos por un personal sumamente amable y eficiente. Volvería a visitar. Muy consciente de Covid por dentro con un ambiente agradable. ¡Mmm!

We visited Wednesday 23 September without a prior booking and were made very welcome. The staff are lovely, the decor interesting and the food is simply delicious. We can’t wait to return.

Encore es un buen restaurante y el personal es amable y servicial.Tomé sopa de cebolla que estaba muy amarga, seguida de lubina que estaba muy bien cocida pero no tenían vegetales verdes (la lubina venía con puré de papa).Teníamos una botella de Malbec que estaba bien pero tenía muchos sedimentos sólidos en el fondo.Después tuve indigestión que creo que fue por la sopa.

we visited whilst on holiday. We hadn't booked but the staff were very helpful and found us a table.The service was quick and the meal was excellent. We had a Steak and Guiness Pie and a Sunday Lunch. Both were generous portions and cooked to perfection.

It was a wee birthday meal for my stepdaughter and kids and I was wary due to Covid. The staff made us at ease the food excellent as was the service. They even sorted out a cake for us. Very child friendly lovely staff and the food made my day. Thank you all we will be back loved the Haggis starter !

We both had French onion soup (amazing) and then steak. I ordered mine blue to which the waiter told me the chef was a wee bit apprehensive about. Turns out it was a needless apprehension as he did an incredible job. I'd definitely recommend Encore. The waiter was lovely and friendly and seemed like he couldn't do enough for us.

Another unexpected encounter. Wandering around Inverness what grabbed our attention was the sign indicating dogs welcome - an indicator of a relaxed and friendly approach, and we weren't disappointed. The staff made us feel most welcome and were very obliging. They have a great range of cocktails so of course we had to try two or three... excellent! They obviously know their stuff. So, we had to come back the day after and tried three or four more... still excellent! And this time, we came back for dinner - and Encore know how to do a great steak too! Thanks so much, all the staff and the manager; we'll definitely come back next time we're in Inverness.

Visit Inverness a few times and love coming here. They have done a great job with COVID procedures, social distancing, cleanliness and overall running with restrictions. Food was first class, if your a fish lover you have to try their mussels! Good to catch up with the staff again, Ross, Nick and Silvia were all very attentive. Good work Encore

Fab location with a nice vibe. Food was simple but came quickly and there was also a nice children’s menu. The staff were absolutely brilliant and very attentive. Also felt very safe COVID-wise.

Ate here one Friday evening in July. Food good, staff very good and prices fair. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

Lucy and I had dinner here last week, I had the recommended Mussels dish and Lucy had a steak, both were delicious. Would recommend this restaurant, not particularly cheap though.Great service,friendly and courteous staff.

We dined tonight whilst visiting family in Inverness. Made very welcome, Charlie our puppy too. Customer service, food and drink all 1st class. Look forward to visiting next time we're in Inverness.

Gran lugar Tranquilo en la noche que estuve allí, pero excelente servicio del personal del piso muy agradable. La comida era una excelente versión de los clásicos del pub, y albergaba una respetable selección de cervezas de barril y ginebras. Las ginebras fueron combinadas con tónicos y guarniciones por personal experto que mejoró la experiencia. Un lugar limpio y agradable con un ambiente relajado. Bueno para una comida relajada y algunas bebidas. A un precio razonable.

The staff were amazing - gave us a few gin recommendations, based off local drops wed be unlikely to find elsewhere. Food was great, highly recommend the cheesecake.

This place is a real gem! Been to Inverness a couple of times but never came across the bridge. Wish I did sooner! Atmosphere was really good. Good beers! And there downpour north Uist gin is delicious! Food was aswell really good and fresh. They also do music most of the week our next visit will be on a weekend for the good tunes. If you are travelling to Inverness I cannot say this enough and visit this good bar! Well done!

Great location,friendly welcome from the barman and a hearty bowl of soup. Enjoying a couple of crisp ciders. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Arrived just before 6pm and shown to our reserved table and given menus and wine list. Thereafter no one came to the table to asked if we wanted a drink after 15 mins I went to the bar to ask what the procedure was to get a drink. Eventually a waitress came over and rudely stated that it was a shift change without any hint of an apology. We thought that an hour and a half would be ample time to get a main and dessert as we were due at the theatre for 8pm, but we were wrong. Two of the mains were fine, one (Cajun chicken burger) was dry and tasteless and they arrived after a bit of a wait. We thought we had enough time and ordered a simple dessert (brownie) but after 1/2 an hour wait had to cancel the order paid the bill, and left. No Encore from us.

We had a lovely dinner here, recommended by our B&B. Great food, good selection on the menu and nice ambience.

We had a family Xmas meal on the 26th of December for 15 . To help we chose our meals in advance and put the order into the restaurant a couple of days before. The table was laid out for us prior to arrival and ordering drinks was very easy. Food came quickly and was of very high quality . Staff serving our food and drink were brilliant throughout the evening and ensured a great celebration. I'll definitely be back.

Came here expecting jusf the standard kind of pub grub that we had before. Was delighted when we were delivered three incredible meals. Every bite was delicious and totally unexpected. Only critiscm is that I wanted more of that incredible spinach and white wine pasta.

I won a Christmas 3 course meal for 4 and it was amazing. Great food and portions were perfect. The staff were all kind and friendly also really looked after us. Great atmosphere with cocktails and live music too the end off an amazing evening. Thank you

Went for some drinks, and we stayed even longer than planned because the staff was friendly and the place was casual and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be back this week for dinner.

Was visiting Inverness in business by myself. Went into this friendly, warm establishment for dinner. Wow. What a great choice. The welcome was warm and genuine. The food excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

We were in Inverness for a few days and spent some time here every evening drawn by the live music. On our last night we had a meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food, my steak was great quality, cooked just as I like and accompanied by chips that I just can’t stop thinking about. Delicious. Loved the atmosphere, wish we had a place as comfortable and cool at home!

Charming ambiance and good food make for a perfect evening. So much choice. I could go on and on, but if you are ever there when the carrot and chive soup is one of the soups of the day -- don't pass it up! Creamy, warm, aromatic, and a treat for your tongue. Maybe it was because we came in from a cold and rainy night, but I could have probably had another 2 or 3 bowls. The fish and chips was also top-notch. Well done, Encore! I hope to see you again some day!

We had a wonderful lunch of moules, scotch egg and salmon lollipop at the end of August. The waiters were really funny and helpful and made the brief interlude so memorable. The food was well presented and delicious. I wish we had found this restaurant earlier in our 4 day stay but we left the following day for Edinburgh.

We stayed 2 nights in Inverness and had dinner at Encore both evenings. On the first night we arrived at 9.30 for a drink as we had been delayed on the road and were delighted to hear they were still serving dinner. The lamb shank was excellent. So we came back on the following evening as it's quite close to our B&B; and I was not disappointed by the fish and chips. The waitress was polite and the service was quick. They have a large choice of whiskies and our favourite beer. The only little disappointment was the key lime pie which looked and tasted more like a lemon cheesecake. But we'll come back because we like the fact it looks like a restaurant but with the food, the drinks and the prices of a pub.

My wife, my son, his girlfriend and me had a really lovely meal at Encore on Sunday afternoon.

My mum and I sat down. A few minutes later we got our lunch menu from a waiter. We ordered our drinks. That's when the problem started... we waited for our drinks more than 10 minutes. One waiter was serving a customer and one bar man standing behind the bar doing nothing. He made us our drinks and put the drinks on the counter. He could of help his staff surving our drinks to our table. The place was very quite.

On a relatively quiet Wednesday night we happened on this place.

This is the third time we have eaten here and can’t fault the food , service and entertainment on the Friday evenings we have eaten there.

We had tried to go to Urquats across the street (and upstairs) and they wouldn't seat us because we had no reservation - even though only TWO tables were being used and one couple was finishing up!

The staff were helpful and the food was varied and tasty. It’s wise to book at peak times because the reasonable prices make it popular. There’s live music so it may be something to ask about in advance in case the night’s genre isn’t to your personal taste.

Visited for the first time this week, was able to walk in and eat quite early in the evening.

Nous avons été y diner deux fois. Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Le fish & chips et le poulet au haggis sont très bons ! je me suis régalée ! Musiciens après 21h étaient de la partie ! Deux agréables soirées grâce à ce resto. Nous n'avions pas réservé mais ils ont été gentils de nous accueillir les deux fois car sur Inverness, il ne faut pas trainer, restos vite complets même à 18h30-19h car ils ferment tôt. Je recommande !

I got gluten-free pasta, and it was AMAZING. Staff was helpful and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

I was staying in a hotel by the river and nothing on their menu took my so wandered along to see what else was available. Many restaurants were booked up but wandered past Encore, there seemed to be space and the menu looked interesting. The excellent staff found me a table, warning me there were limited draft drinks as they had a gas problem, but I fancied a bottle anyway, so not an issue. I ordered the haggis croquettes (well presented and nice and peppery) followed by the mussels (served in a mini bath but excellent). My only comment was there needed to be some crusty bread either included or as an extra to soak up the creamy juice. Otherwise an excellent meal well served. Even better when I asked for the bill that was quickly and efficiently dealt with too.

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of Encore. The staff was pleasant and efficient. We all left with full bellies feeling satisfied and that we would return for another good meal. Very conveniently located as well.

Looking for a place for a late lunch, we stopped by Encore. Service was exceptional but the food was really great for such a casual type pub. I had a lovely sea bass, prepared beautifully, and my friend had bacon-wrapped chicken with haggis which was delightful. They were both presented excellently. Now, I don’t know if I would recommend this place for a high end dinner, but for a casual lunch it was perfect.

Por suerte, debió terminar turno o la cambiaron de mesas y terminó de atendemos un camarero muy amable y detallista (en la mesa de al lado les dió a probar diferentes cervezas para que elegirán mientras que mi amiga la camarera fue incapaz de prestarme ninguna ayuda).

Went in with work colleagues for food and some drinks. It was relatively quiet, but had a nice buzz about it. 3 burgers with slight differences were delivered promptly and exactly as ordered. Service was attentive and welcoming without being intrusive. Happy to recommend and will return at some stage.

Recommended by our B & B owner we walked to this restaurant situated near a bridge in town over the river Ness. Outside did not look great but inside was better. The food was excellent and if in the area would definitely return.

I was in Inverness with my girlfriend and wanted to grab a couple of drinks as well as having something good to eat. We came across this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. Staff was very nice and helpful. The drinks were just how they should be served and the food was delicious. For starters we had the fishcake and smoked salmon and that was very nice. The main meal was the best bit though. To be honest I had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and my misses really enjoyed her mussels fritters as well. Unfortunately we didn’t have any space left for the desserts. Overall we enjoyed our time here and will definately be coming back here when we come to Inverness.

Surely the most underrated restaurant/pub in Inverness. Staff service is outstanding; friendly, courteous and proactive. Solid range of drinks. On a hot day it is a very cool location with fresh air easily flowing through the naturally ventilated the front area. However, the food that also deserves the best of acclaim. The salad dressing we had with our entree is sensational. And the chicken pie was wonderful.

We had a lovely meal at Encore tonight. The waiting staff very attentive. Meal absolutely beautiful. Restaurant is done up beautifully and so the ambience is magic. Food was brought out quickly and was top notch. If we were staying longer in Inverness we would definitely be back.

Just wanted a quiet family get together for my birthday and so having had several meals here previously, my husband booked a table for 9 of us. The service was excellent as was the food. Unfortunately due to an emergency, two of our guests had to leave abruptly, returning about 20 minutes later. The waiting staff put their meals under the heat lamp for them but by the time they returned, the chef felt the food was spoiled and prepared fresh meals. Also the basic chocolate cake we supplied was very much tarted up with strawberries and sauce. All the staff at Encore went out of their way to make me feel special and I will definitely return. Thank you everyone.

The food was just about okay- just!

We stopped in here for a bite to eat and were very disappointed. The burgers were raw in the middle so we complained. The “chef” stated that meat is often red. Yes that’s true but not when it has been cooked properly and burgers need to be cooked thoroughly. My husband had no food and I could only eat the very edge of mine. The bill was amended eventually but we will not be back and would not recommend it.

After a long day on the Loch, my husband and I were looking for an early dinner spot. What a find! The steak and ale pie was tender with plenty of gravy. My husband had the chicken stuffed with haggis. The service was attentive until it was time to get the check; apparently we became invisible. Still, it was a wonderful meal.

Dinner was excellent compliments to the chef, very friendly staff, great service, reasonable prices.

Live music? A delightful woman with her guitar, struggling with the sound system. The bar staff? Knowledgeable about what they had, apologetic about what was gone. The atmosphere? Completely like a good time in any pub, tavern, bar, or bamflak anywhere in the world. In other words, we knew we were in Northern Scotland, but we knew we were right at home.

We have spent the last ten days touring Scotland, and we had our best meals yet at Encore. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we made dinner reservations there for this evening. We can highly recommend the lamb shank and steak and ale pie. If we were staying longer in Inverness we would definitely return. The staff was very personable and professional.

What can I say? Pub food at it's finest located very close to the river I downtown Inverness. Service was very quick and friendly. Atmosphere was what you hoped for when you booked your Scotland holiday. We enjoyed our meal immensely - first time trying a scotch egg and it was amazing as was the beet wellington (yes, beet).Portion sizes very good. Felt like we got good value for the money spent and the service was generally solid. You'll enjoy a meal here, for sure!

The waiter with Joker-themed ink turned out to be witty, professional and eager to please. Recommending right meals for my fiancee with multiple dietary restrictions was no challenge for him. When the kitchen turned out to not be able to cook her starter anymore due to short-term limitations, we were offered an alternative free of charge. We enjoyed our food and the bang for the back was pretty good. It deserves a visit while Encore un fois staff gets both thumbs up.

We stumbled into Encore Une Fois on a busy Sunday evening having been turned away from the full city centre restaurants. Although Encore was nearly full the manager was still able to squeeze the ten of us in to a fairly comfortable spot. The waiting service (particularly a very tall young man) was friendly and efficient; the menu was shortish and covered all of our needs and the food itself was fine. The food and wine prices seemed reasonable. We booked for another visit as we left!

Short and sweet is how I will do this review and how I would describe the girl who served and assisted me.

Some of us eat meat with potatoes some other coffee and sweet but anyway the food was the food of a medium rate pub with a plate full of potatoes! The portions was big, the sweets very sweet for my taste but anyway we spent our time in a big and friendly environment!

If you’re looking for excellent, but no frills pub food, this is a good place for dinner. Whisky selection was excellent. Service was fast and pleasant. I had the steak and ale pie and enjoyed it. Large portions and reasonable prices.

After a whole week of travelling we had arrived back in Inverness and found this lovely restaurant. Great service and food - particularly enjoyed the mussels we shared as a starter, the seabass and ratatouille main and Scottish cheeseboard. Nice relaxed evening set us up for the journey home early the next morning.

This is my second visit which was very different to my first visit. Prices have risen, ok I understand this would happen but the food proportion has gone down. Normally I order a starter and then a main but as the starter was quite large on my first visit I decided to order a soup for the main course. You cannot by the way only have a main, because you are charged for a set two course menu. The soup was cold and came with a small slice of white bread. I asked for another slice and he said they would have to charge me. Considering they were saving because I only had soup, I thought that was a bit much to charge for a piece of bread. My last visit.

Bon restaurant, le poisson (du haddock d'après le menu) n'est pas toujours au rendez-vous. C'était plus du colin..
