Had a takeout with the family and every dish hit the spot. Tasty and quality food and good value for money.

Whether you get the Dazzling Darbari, Terrific Tandoori or Great Grill, you are in for a treat. This Indian takeaway is everything you could ask for - freshly made and good portions for a reasonable price. We are visiting family in Marple and decided to order a takeaway. It was delicious and warm and we are all stuffed so thank you Dhaaniya (new name) and your very friendly owner.

Have had a few meals from here over the years. I had heard there was a new chef, and don't know if that's true or not, but the food was delicious. Really full of flavour and not the same old tastes. Delivered on time, hot and enough to have some leftover for tomorrow. Excellent.

Used this place a few times now, the food is always very well prepared, the chicken is succulent and the sauces extremely flavoursome. Highly recommended.

Had a delivery a couple of weeks ago - said it would be 50 mins - came within 30 mins - chicken rogan Josh, chicken samba, pilau rice & garlic naan - absolutely delish & was delivered by a very nice chap - so good we are having the same again tonight - thank you EOI

Whilst requesting a delivery, we ordered a vegetarian meal over the phone. A member of staff only confirmed this by asking if Tikka sauce was okay/didn’t read back the order (despite claiming we confirmed this order). A chicken kebab arrived which as a vegetarian, I couldn’t eat. This is semi understandable - mistakes can happen and it’s probably a rare order for them which is maybe why he missed the word “vegetable” and assumed we wanted meat. However, upon calling them up and asking for a new one to be sent, they refused to admit that it was their mistake and forced us to pay to have a new one sent (and not only pay for the order but also pay for extras to qualify for delivery). Not only was this going against my consumer rights, I was also very rudely told to “hurry up” and decide what other items I wanted to pay for to get me over the minimum delivery to fix their mistake. This is very disappointing because we’ve ordered from here many times with no problems and whilst the food is fine, the way we were unfairly treated / talked to with such disrespect by one member of staff means we won’t be ordering here again. We got a quick apology from the delivery driver when the second order came, which I appreciated, but I don’t think it can make up for the way we were spoken to in regard to their mistake.

Ordered food at 6.20..food arrived at 8.30..freezing cold.. Half items missing.. Finally got through to shop after trying for 30 mins to be told "can't be cold.. Just been made".. Awful customer service.. Will NEVER order from this place again!!

Had a delivery last night with my partner and mum and dad. We all had mixed starters which were very nice, we ordered three curries I had a Ceylon which was full of okra but the description was coconut and lemon it wasn't the best. The other two curries were a karahi and a balti dupiaza which were that spicy hot my parents couldn't eat it and my partner struggled with his. Very disappointed have used this place for many years time to find another place.we didn't get our free bottle of pop either.

Been using this takeaway for years and always had excellent food. Last time we ordered we were really disappointed but decided to give it another go. Mixed started was so dry and tough we threw it away. We opened the chicken tikka massala and as the last review stated it was a bowl of bright pink liquid with chicken in it. Chicken was quite tender but sauce was really unpleasant. Won't give it another try.

The premise looks dated and dirty... Not dissimilar to the chef's infact, they look like they could all do with a good wash, as could thier aprons which were heavily stained. I tried the vindaloo which was ridiculously salty.

To be fair the food is pretty good and we have used empress for a while with no issues, however on the last delivery, we were given someone elses order which took another hour to sort out and redeliver, I have no problem with that but when it was finally redelivered, the driver stank of weed and was swaying all over the place. No way am I having druggies at my door so sent him away and went to the chippie. wont use again

Good delivery service but terrible food. The prawn tikka masala was literally a big bowl of sauce with a few lovely prawns floating in the bottom. Had to be eaten with a spoon and very bland. Food was poorly packed and extremely messy taking it out of the bag.

Just seen the last review and cannot agree more. We just had a chicken korma so pale watery and tasteless . the peshwari naan was burned on the outside and undercooked in the middle . Went back to complain to give them the opportunity to put it right rather than me leave a bad review but sadly only refunded the naan so hence my post . The waiting area is filthy too.

First time for a takeaway on a customers reccomendation. Best curry I've had in ages. Fresh and quicker delivery time than expected. We will be regulars.

If you enjoy Indian food then you'll find Empress of India to be one of the very best. I have NEVER had anything other than superb meals. Not only the food is excellent but the service is polite and quick and the delivery service (if you require) is quick. Marple is indeed lucky to have this brilliant takeaway.

Fast service, good value for money on volume of food in the special offers but not much meat in the curries.

One of the best curry houses in stockpory

Having not been in here fro years I decided to go back and see what's changed. The food is excellent. The tandoori chicken Masala is the best I have had in years. I asked the chef to reduce the amount of cream as I don't like it too creamy and he was happy to oblige. The result was a superb fresh portion of tandoori chicken in a lovely thick, but not too sweet, sauce. Great service, great food and very helpful staff. Definitely my new favourite takeaway.

Avoid the Sheek Kebab. It was soggy, as if it had been frozen then put in the microwave. It was that bad i made the effort to write this review.

OMG.... best madras I've ever had. Ring them every Saturday night. Never disappointed. And for once it's a friendly delivery guy. My wife loves the korma too and the peshawari naan is lovely.... I could go on...

Usually it's fantastic, on time and the food delicious. However, this time our food was nearly 1 hour late and Luke warm. Apprehensive about ordering from here in future.

We have ordered from here previously and thought it was lovely and tastey. Have re ordered tonight. Over an hour wait for delivery. Food cold, bland and full of grease. Would not recommend to use as we will not be using it again.

Estimated delivery was 19.20. Actual delivery time was 19.40. Not a big deal except my order was not complete! Missing the mango chutney and onions. I called the restaurant. No apology just a 'we're busy will get it to you as soon as we can' I mentioned that I kind of wanted to eat it now with the rest of the food I had ordered. They said all their drivers are out. Which again I pointed out I know because they had just been to deliver only part of my order! Not a lot of chicken in the curry but otherwise ok not the best I've had. And it's now an hour and half later and still nobody has come back with the chutney or onions. So I paid a pound for an incomplete delivery and a pound for food I haven't received. Not holding my breath I'm going to get a refund. Won't be ordering again on principal.

My wife, daughter and myself had 3 currys delivered tonight we had changed to another Indian in marple but decided to go back tonight what a great choice. I had a beef Rogan Josh absolutely gorgeous and delivered very quickly and red hot we will be back.

Very disappointed. I no longer recommend ordering from here. All the meat was burnt, ended up just throwing it away. The onion Bhajis were also very burnt. The sauces I ordered were missing. Delivery was well over the estimated time. I will not be ordering from the Empress of India again.
