La convención en el Reino Unido es que dejar una propina siempre es a su discreción. En un momento dado el cliente dejó dinero en efectivo activamente o pidió que se agregara una propina cuando se había recibido un buen servicio. Luego se agregó una propina a su factura automáticamente, lo que significa que el cliente pobre tuvo que entrar en una zona de conflicto para tener que eliminar. La propina estaba y sigue estando (gracias a Dios) casi exclusivamente reservado a los restaurantes. Los británicos no dan propinas en los bares. Sin embargo, algunas empresas siempre son ingeniosas en encontrar maneras de estafar a los clientes. Entra en la última estafa donde pides tu bebida en el bar y en lugar de que solo te pasen tus bebidas se te indica que tomes asiento y te lo "traerán". Tuvimos la cena festiva de 2 platos por 22 libras y luego tuvimos un pudín fuera del menú principal. La sopa era preciosa, pero sin mantequilla en tostadas. El plato principal era encantador pero no lo suficientemente caliente, el desierto estaba bien. No me gusta el recargo del 10 por ciento, dejaría una propina antes si mereciera. El personal era amable y educado.

Entonces, encontremos algo positivo... uno de los camareros es encantador! Lamentablemente eso es todo. Como el servicio es bastante deficiente también. La comida, un poco como el hotel, es golpe y falla. Hace 2 semanas su proveedor de carne no les suministró dos veces en una semana! Sin embargo, en la tercera noche conseguí un solomillo medio raro muy bien cocinado. Las patatas fritas en esa ocasión no estaban calientes. La cena de esta noche después de 5 horas en coche, una carrera rápida al gimnasio fue bastante pobre. Mi filete medio raro estaba 'tímido' cuando salió y faltaba el hongo y el tomate (yup singular) habitual. No pido el filete con aderezo y había pedido que el filete no estuviera cubierto de pimienta, como la última vez. Cuando pregunté por la ausencia de setas y tomate me dijeron que también tenían pimienta. Indiqué que esto no era un problema si era una aspersión que simplemente no quería que la pimienta negra diera más poder al sabor de mi filete. De todos modos pedí mostaza... nunca llegó, la ensalada de acompañamiento se empapó en un aderezo francés. Estuvo bien, pero lo hubiera preferido sin él, y tristemente mi filete era tibia. Inmediatamente y cortésmente le dije al camarero que quitó la 'lata' de papas fritas del plato... Asumo que se fue conmigo para ir tan frío como el filete o ser consumido sin el filete? Llevó el filete de vuelta a la cocina. 5 minutos más tarde mi filete fue devuelto y el camarero dijo 'Chef lo ha recalentado' Yo dije en ese momento que se cocinará demasiado ahora, pero el camarero acaba de salir. Basta decir que me quedé con un filete seco y gomoso que fue absolutamente horrible. Si no hubiera sido tan tarde en la noche y solo necesitara comer un poco de proteína y acostarme, la habría enviado de vuelta y solicitado una fresca. Habiendo leído otras críticas no estoy solo en estar decepcionado por la comida y el servicio! Se le ha advertido.

My experience here was amazing. When we got to the restaurant my daughters were not feeling good and did not want to eat anything. He explained the plate options to us very thoroughly and helped us pick our meals. He offered good meal options for my daughters and made them each a typical English remedy to help them feel better. Long story short, they got better and were able to eat after not eating all day. When it was time for desert, he offered them lighter options that were not on the menu and continued to describe the stuff on the menu thoroughly. At the end of our meal, we asked him for recommendations on what to do in Bath. He sat down with us and explained everything there was to do here and showed us how to get there on a map. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It was the best restaurant we ate at in our two week trip around UK.

Me llevaron a una mesa y me dejaron solo. . . ¡No había menú y nadie se me acercó hasta que me levanté y pregunté! Luego también un tiempo para que venga el menú. Después de mi comida me senté durante una hora sin ver a ningún miembro del personal. . . . ¿Así que no comieron postre? Lo triste es que casi no había nadie en el restaurante. . . . . como puedes ver solo yo. Me cansé tanto de sentarme allí solo que fui al bar a pagar y me acosté. Muy pobre. No me quedaré allí de nuevo.

We stayed at the Doubletree but had already checked out. We decided to have lunch here before leaving for London. Service was very pleasant. My Asian salad was salty and not light and refreshing tasting.

We were late to book a table here for lunch due to a last minute change of plans. I was pleased to find there was a free slot and now I realise why! I give this as constructive feedback in the hope the Hilton management might read these comments. Firstly considering it was Mother’s Day, there were no efforts made to make it special. Flowers on the table would have been a nice touch. The lunchtime menu was very limited and in my opinion not worth the money. The sandwich arrived and was underwhelming, made with cheap limp bread and hardly any filling. We ordered a rose wine and got a red wine then my daughter ordered a vegan burger and was given a beef burger and bacon by mistake. The meal was changed but meant that we had all finished by the time she got hers. We got a lukewarm apology. The staff were not particularly engaging or welcoming which would have helped. We liked the venue and the view over the river was pleasant so that at least was a positive. It’s just a pity that there was so much potential and considering it’s a Hilton Hotel, such a disappointment overall.

I booked this online for a weekend away with a group of friends. We wanted an independent brasserie style restaurant with a diverse menu and the website appeared to promise both. However, on arrival at the postcode, it became clear that the restaurant was inside the Hilton hotel. Having returned to the website, this is not clear at all - photos are very deceptive showing an intimate interior rather than a vast open plan function room. The only link to the Hilton is a small logo at the bottom of the page. Disappointed we made our way inside to be greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to the table. Unfortunately, the menu offered was totally different to the one on the website. When queried, a manager came over and said that the menu had been changed a few weeks ago but had clearly not been updated on the website. The website states (and still does 13/12/2021) - "Taking inspiration from further afield, our menu features the very best of Asian and European cuisine, combined with traditional English fare." The menu given to us was fish and chips, sausage and mash, burgers, steak or salad - not a hint of Asian or European fusion! The manager was apologetic and had he offered us a complimentary drink, we might well have made the decision to stay but he didn't and we ended up in a lovely independent Italian just up the road with amazing food and staff. Don't be deceived by the website and the menu. This is not what it is masquerading as online!

Myself and my husband booked here when staying in the hilton as the setting and menu looked so good. When we arrived and had booked to sit in the garden we were told we weren't able to and had to sit in the other room where we have breakfast. I then asked if we could sit on the table with the red chairs as it was a lovely area and we're told no as it's set for breakfast. We were then given a reduced menu and by reduced I mean very very basic. The food was nice but not anything like what we wanted which was so disappointing it resembles a whetherspoons style of options such as fish and chips basic steak prepacked chip's. We should have been pre informed in order to book an alternative restaurant but at that point it was too late. Service was good and the hotel very kindly gave us a glass of bubbly for our anniversary which was a nice gesture but the rest was really disappointing on a rare evening away without our little ones. To top it off as we left we could see there were I fact people sat in the reteraunt and garden that we had booked. All in all I would not advise a booking here and wish we had booked a nice restaurant in town

Not impressed with the restaurant was told they were fully booked but wasn't, order dinner, no mention of nuts on the tikkka masala, came out with nuts on, am allergic to nuts, the other dish we ordered was chicken skewers came out as a full piece of chicken breast not on skewers. For a supposed high class restaurant felt well below par..

We had a really bad experience this evening unfortunately. We were seated quickly, the male waiter was polite and explained the specials but it really went down hill from there. Really long wait for drinks to arrive and then the child’s orange juice didn’t arrive, we had to chase it up twice. Despite other customers being served food in the restaurant nothing much arrived to our area. Customers that arrived long after us had starters and mains and we had still received no food at all. We asked for an update on the food as it had been over 45 minutes and were told it was coming. I asked again how long it would be, and asked if they could try to rush the child’s spaghetti as it was getting late for my daughter to eat. Still nothing arrived despite asking more than once. Nobody was telling us what the issue was so I found a waitress and asked how long the wait would be, she hastily told me that there was a technical problem and our order had not gone through, she then walked off while I was talking and continued to serve other customers. I was very disappointed in the service at this point and found it incredibly rude that she had walked away mid conversation and not apologised or tried to rectify the issue. Managed to speak to her again, still no apologies for the lack of food and poor service. At this point she said that she’d put the order through again and it would be 20 minutes for two spaghettis - this was not our order. She said we could either wait or it was our choice to go and eat somewhere else. Several excuses were given: technical issues, very busy, lots of other customers to serve but I really think they should have been able to get some food and an apology to us. This was early in the evening, 6.30ish and there was only one other family in the dining room when we arrived, even when we left the restaurant was not even close to half full so I’m not sure why they weren’t able to cope and serve the food quickly. We left the restaurant and ate over the road at the Green King pub which was fine, we got some food fairly quickly and it was friendly.

Came here first night while visiting the City of Bath, have a large indoor seating area. Great selection of foods and some cute cocktails. Overall enjoyed the food and drinks would recommend

Wagamama is my go to chain for food. I love food places where you can see and smell the food being cooked fresh to order and delivered to your table. I especially love how easy Wagamama makes it for Soul Club members to pay by App. I have visited many in cities and towns from London to Dorchester and Bristol to Salisbury. On Monday it was time to revisit Bath Wagamama in one of my favourite cities on a cold grey damp Monday. Always an early bird for lunch, we were soon seated by the window, outer garments hung up conveniently on the hooks provided. I adore the duck donburi - £19:00 and my partner the shirodashi ramen - £16:00. I pigged out opting to try out the new hot honey chicken -teriyaki (corlander) - £9.00. The staff are attentive and super-friendly and soon our drinks arrived swiftly followed by our dishes one-by-one as is the Wagamama USP. Wow, I knew my main would be delicious and we both tucked-in enjoying the warmth of a lovely welcome and seating experience and the heat of our dishes. I checked my Soul Club app and was delighted to find I’d earned a free side which I swear made the hot chicken taste even more delicious! The portion was big so our waitress brought a food to go container and I squirrelled away several pieces to enjoy later. Washed down with drinks it was easy to pay via the app, coats on and it was time to hit the streets and passages of Bath and walk-off our delicious lunch. No surprise as Wagamama Bath is consistently great, but on a cold,damp and grey Monday at noon, it gave us the ultimate Wagamama dining experience and I love it for that.

Came here for lunch as a group of two and had a great experience. Despite it being a Sunday on a bank holiday weekend, we were seated straight away with no wait. The place had just the right level of buzz—busy, but not overwhelming. All the staff were polite, friendly, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely lovely—flavourful, well-prepared, and genuinely felt authentic. It didn’t taste like a franchise trying to imitate traditional dishes. The portions were just right—not too heavy, but still satisfying. One detail I really appreciated was the open kitchen. It’s small and intimate, but it gives you a sense of trust—like your meal is being cooked with care by real hands. The cosy décor and ceiling fans added to the charm, giving the place a warm, tropical vibe. Would definitely recommend!

The food took a long time to prepare. It was supposed to be a special occasion for my daughter's First Holy Communion. But, when we informed the server/staff (I forgot to ask her name and I don't want to know) if my daughter can have her dessert, and I told her to have my left over main food which was still so many for take-away. She didn't understand. She put my daughter's plate on top of my plate which was supposed to be for take away. So ofcourse, it was already dirty or not hygienic. I told her that was for take away, she said 'Oh, I thought you said take away- to take away from here'. What?? I asked for the manager and the manager made my 1st order as complimentary but still billed the new order for takeaway. It was such a bad experience. The only positive thing was the interior design which i initially chose because of the occasion.

Great food! Love the spices and recommend the King Prawn Ceylon which is my favourite. Lovely friendly staff. Always made welcome and always get our table. Lovely atmosphere. Lighting not too bright and music subtle. Just a lovely indian and a great night out.
