Ember Pub and Dining in Croydon

The service very poor obviously understaffed ordered food really long wait and was cold. Won't recommend or return so disappointed

Food is now atrocious, they need to employ a chef who knows what he or she is doing, second visit this month doesn’t get better only worse, complain just greeted with a shrug of the shoulders.

Great outside area, with lots of seating. I just had the crispy chicken starter which was nice enough but my girlfriend had the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.

The Crown- Ember Inns- firstly i fancied a Sunday lunch ,as in the past when we went to the Toby it was awful- we decided never to go there again ! ! I thought we ( My son , myself and my sons best friend ) would try somewhere a little more local, id looked on line for the prices and to see if they did a veggie option , and reasonable portions for the price, and all seemed in order. This Sunday was overcast but warm so we diecided to sit outside , Outside in the Crown is a lovely large garden seated area, so we prdered some non alcoholic drinks, which was ok and found a table and ordered . I found out at 4pm they had run out of all the vegetarian options, which wasnt a great start , and so i had to get thme to ask the chef if he could put scampi with my roast , the chef ( if you could call him that ) agreed, So my Son and his mate orderd the sharing dinner ( chicken and ham ) two meats, and veg and potatoes, meant for sharing , but its not big enough to share, so they had one each - and i had a mix up of scampi and veg , and potatoes, . Its describes as omming with a rich gravy - lumpy gravy ! The roast potatoes were overdone to a crisp and had no potato inside, and the veg wasnt cooked properly , some over cooked some undercooked , quite frankly it was revolting ! I decided that after that revolting roast , id try some of their desert , i thought it cant be as bad , - it was- it was shop bought, i had a caramel cheese cale whoch was supposed to be with raspberries, and it came with black currants , the boys had stiky toffee pudding, which we all agreed was shop bought, and birds eye custard ! The whole price for the drinks and the food was about £68.00 for the three of us , and i will not ever eat there again ! As a pub its quite nice, the food is abysmal !!!

We've had dinner and drinks at this pub. Two weeks letter we got 2 parking fines (2 cars as we travelled separately there). This ruined our view of this pub and we shall never set foot in it again. Shame on you Crown for the way you treat new customers!

Relaxing atmosphere with cosy corners and open fire …. and very tasty food ! Had the French dipping burger and it was delicious . Definitely recommend

Perfect for a work night out. Not too crazy, good food and good drinks. The staff were especially friendly and catering to our every need.

My 81 year old partner and his sister visited and had a very enjoyable and excellent beef rib meal. Unfortunately, he received a fine for parking on the premises, But I emailed the Inn and they have arranged to cancel the fine - so well done and many thanks to Sarah. (At least next time he and his sister will know to advise the staff regarding his car.)

Went in for lunch with a friend and it was great. The team were charming and nice to chat with and the food was great. Everything was a reasonable price considering the way of the world at the moment and I'd go back.

I have been here before and generally been satisfied with my experience but a few weeks back on a Friday I called in with my husband and we both just wanted fish and chips and was told there was only one of this type as they had run out it was only 6pm! This should have been a red flag to me but stupidly booked on 1st September for 6 of us friends to have a nice chat up and relaxing meal. Booked for 7.00pm. We started ordering about 7.15pm, once again anything we ordered off the menu was listed as unavailable or sold out, we persevered and everyone found something they liked. We ordered using the app. Then got chatting. 15 minutes later a waiter appeared and said, that the kitchen was far behind with orders had at least 24 orders in front of us and our wait would be at least 1 1/2 hours if not longer. No apologies or anything given. I had prebooked this meal two weeks in advance. No real apologies given, no manager showed their face, nothing to help our situation was given it was almost like they couldn't care less. Needless to say we asked for a full refund and said we were leaving to eat elsewhere, the waiter looked relieved if I'm honest. This was a disgraceful way of dealing with customers. If the kitchens cant cope they need to reduce on their bookings, food off the menu not being available is also a major problem here. It really ruined our evening, we all left very hungry and totally disappointed. We will not be returning until this pub gets it's act together, puts customers first and improves considerably.

GREAT DINNER CHOICES. Fun for the family, dog friendly and warm atmosphere. Good to meet up with friends, dating maybe.

Great to have food with friends and family and great atmosphere for dogs. Location is nice and friendly staff on front of bar!!! Recommend to go on a night out, special deals on most days of the week. Offers on ember inns app for usage. Loads of promos.

Lovely spot with a lovely beer garden. Spent a lovely afternoon having dinner and drinks while the kids played. I love that the beer garden is enclosed and that it's a dog friendly pub. Would recommend the steaks or delicious veggie linguine

Food is great, plenty of space. Dog friendly and place is great for family, the weather is great now for summer drinks and plenty of cider choices. New cocktails are a hit and good pricing.
