No volverá.

Wonderful service, some of the portions were a bit small. Hugely expensive. In that sense, not good value. If you have an expense account, fine. If not, choose somewhere with better value for money.

A nice contemporary decor. We had the three Course lunch menu with the wine pairing. Every plate of food was beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as it looked. The sommelier was really informative and we enjoyed tasting the different wines she paired for us. The only downside was that one of our party didn’t enjoy the desert wine chosen so we asked to change it and she seemed very affronted that we asked her to do so. Otherwise our experience would have been five stars but she made us feel very uncomfortable.

What a wonderful experience dinner was! What struck me was the attention to detail in everything - the unfussy decor, the way the menu was written, the cooking and presentation, the style of service. The style of the restaurant blends contemporary with old-school values of hospitality. In terms of service, I liked being able to have a discussion about wines that would suit our meal that was not about talking up the market (as it so often is). I particularly valued the vegetable entree (three kinds of courgette that showed the difference in flavour) dishes and the fish. This was short visit to London after a few years' gap, and I had had a couple of very ordinary meals. This was reassuringly good.

5/5 A perfect date night in simple yet elegant surroundings with attentive service and sumptuous food. Charlie was a great host and was kind enough to pay for 2 glasses of wine which had taken a little while to arrive. The waiter, Louis (sorry I think that was his name, his Spanish accent may have been misunderstood by me) was excellent and had a good sense of humour too. The wine was delicious, we chose the Rose De Noirs from Roebuck estate in Sussex. The food, from the bread and olives to the desert was superb.

My wife and I booked a 4-person table at Elystan Street with friends visiting us in London. I selected the place as I had read that it was run by the same managers/owners as Kitchen W8 that we enjoyed. Therefore, the disappointment was even bigger as the best way to characterise the dinner is a combination of the worst and the best. Some dishes were really excellent and supported the place's Michelin one star. Others - I'm thinking about the Cheese Soufflé that 3 of us chose - were barely edible as way too salty. That was also the case with one starter. We complained about this to the waiters - otherwise friendly and efficient - but to no avail. No form of compensation was offered for what was for most of us simply a bad experience. That's regrettable as the place is well located, nicely decorated, but currently does not live up to its Michelin star status.

A truly delightful spot right in South Kensington, staffed by truly wonderful people who seemed to both care and enjoy their jobs. We only went for a "dry January" 3 course set menu but it was incredibly reasonably priced at £35 a head for some stunning food. Highlights (as with most restaurants I go to ) were the incredible starters - Burford Brown egg and cauliflower, along with a delcious soup with feta. But it was the little things that really added up - repeat servings of wonderful sourdough bread, and 2 * amuse bouches (which is unheard of normally on a prix fixe set menu). Will return for "Six of the Best" on a special occasion

My cousin lives locally and booked a table for us for dinner as I was staying with her for the night. Unfortunately we were more then disappointed . This should be a first class restaurant and the prices should mirror this. The food was extremely average and we had to send the main course back as it was served on cold plates with the food being subsequently less than luke warm. It was served again at the right temperature . Dessert was presentedin very lax manner and not worth the price. The tired dried flower arrangements on the tables leave a lot to be desired in what should be one of London’s top restaurants . The staff were all excellent and very attentive but attention to detail has completely failed and needs to be addressed.

Sadly the lack of care taken over our dinner made for a disappointing evening. If with Christmas decorations along the window had been complimented by something seasonal to look at on the table rather than the sad dried flowers that had seen better days it might have started better. The sparkling water produced by the restaurant was flat and should have been noticed by the waiting staff as no bubbles appeared when pouring. No proper amuse bouche unless some taramasalata with olives and homemade crackers is what we should now expect from a Michelin * restaurant. The main course, delicious cod was spoiled by being served lukewarm on lukewarm plates - as I was not certain if this was intentional I decided to ask. Apologies were made as it should have been at 60 degrees and hot. The waiting staff knew when they held the plates that they were serving lukewarm food - clearly having been waiting to be collected from the kitchen. They started again with the cod which was ultimately served hot. The deserts chosen were rice pudding and a creme brûlée. Against expectations there was a dissonance in the portions - the rice pudding merely covered the base of a high sided cereal bowl and unexpectedly the creme brûlée was served on a large flat plate (with raised sides) and was a ladle full 'slopped' onto the plate overwhelmingly large for a full cream desert, with the finest of caramelised sugar basket decoration disproportionate to the portion of creme brûlée. What happened to baking in a ramekin dish and the smooth texture similar to yoghourt - rather than grainy as this was? I am a local resident and booked Elystan Street as an alternative to my usual go-to restaurant Daphne's. I was being treated to this dinner by my cousin so have come away very embarrassed. There was no recognition of the concerns we raised (we had given up by the time desert came!) a further blow to the consistent standards expected from the award of a Michelin * at which level vigilance is so important. I note from a review from 2022 that some of the points I raise here were also raised back then. I know how easy it is for restaurants to fail and it concerns me that without essential quality control we could be losing another.

We had a family lunch here for a special occasion. My partner is gluten and dairy intolerant, and was also pregnant, which can cause some real issues in some restaurants. I let them know at the time of booking and when we arrived and got handed the menus, they had printed one off especially for her. Incredible. It made it so much easier and relaxing for everyone. We all went for a 3-course set lunch menu which at just under £40 is exceptional value. They also had 2015 Nyetimber blanc de blancs on the wine menu which was great to see. Service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was faultless (although this was somewhat expected knowing that Phil Howard is at the helm). I cannot recommend this place enough and it's perfect for pretty much any occasion.

Went with our son for a family celebration. Probbaly the most expensive restaurants we have been to in the past few years. Ambience and service were good. Appetiser and dessert very good, but not exceptional. Two of three main course were far too salty, such that my wife couldn't finish it and did not enjoy it at all. Not only fish but gnocchi and rest of dish had far too much salt. No response from anyone when mentioned it to wait staff.

Its a unique restaurant, for the following reasons: 1. Very good food, dishes which are not too small and neither too big, and memorably good dishes too. 2. No loud music. 3. Refined clientele - no uncouth, unmannered, ill-brought up "influencers". 4. Spaced out dining area, good sized tables 5. Simple but nonetheless a pretty restaurant. 6. Remarkably cheap for a Michelin restaurant Its suitable for casual dinner as well as dates. Its not fine dining, but a good restaurant for a quality, good value civilised dinner.

This was my first time trying Phil Howard's cooking and it was so good. The food was satisfying and presentation, not at all fussy. I also rather liked the dining room as the decor and colours had been thought out well. There was a choice between a 3-course à la carte or a 6-course tasting menu. We opted for the former. To begin, I ordered one of Phil Howard's signature dishes, strozzapreti. It was prepared with Australian black truffle. This was undoubtedly one of the best pasta dishes I have eaten. The pasta was cooked to a perfectly soft texture and the sauce it was served in was as umami-rich as a sauce could get. The truffle added an extra depth of flavour and a distinctive aroma. However, I did feel that £40 was too expensive for this starter. My main course of duck was also a real delight. Tender and succulent pieces of meat were served with an orange purée and cherries, adding some nice sweetness and acidity. A side dish of a salad accompanying either my or my mother's main course was just excellent. The fresh and crispy salad leaves and the tasty vinaigrette went together perfectly. It was so simple yet so delicious. My dessert named 'Milk many ways with gooseberry and elderflower' was very unique and nice. The creaminess of the milk and the refreshing element of the fruits balanced the dessert. While the dessert itself looked like one single dish, beneath the white foam were a couple of different mini preparations using the same ingredients. I thought this was really cool! Meeting and having a little talk with Phil Howard was also a pleasure. The only real thing I felt could have been better is if we had been given a little more explanation of the dishes. When receiving them, there was little or no explanation. Personally, I like a bit of talk regarding the preparation and 'behind the scenes' would I say! Nevertheless, this was a great meal with generally pretty reasonable prices, considering the location and food quality. I would happily return :)

Have eaten here previously and again, was not disappointed this time. Being Mrs Fussypants, I asked if my starter (courgettes dish) could be tweaked; yes it could, it was, and it was fabulous - packed full of flavour. The 3-course meal was fantastic value for money, service was attentive, polite and friendly. Food (cheese souffle, almond soup, sorbet and cheese) was perfect, portions more than satisfying. However, a point to be aware of - the wine list, while fabulous, gives prices per glass, and - very surprisingly - per carafe, rather than per bottle. We were obivious to this (after all, have never seen this particualr presentation in any restaurant we have eaten in, nor was this indicated anywhere) and of course, thought we had a bargain bottle of wine.... To be fair, when we asked about this upon receipt of the bill, the manager was understanding and dealt with it well and with good grace. Let's hope that clarity is provided either on the wine list or by the sommelier We will return!

A Sunny afternoon in Chelsea was the designated direction ..& 43 Elystan Street the elegant destination. We chose the 3course set menu & while not entirely without a little reservation as to the cooking , overall it was a lovely experience dining here . I did like the marvellous sourdough seemingly never unable to be exhausted by dedicated consumption, & liked the unhurried but carefully managed service.. I did NOT appreciate being slugged a so - called 15% service charge though … which ended up somewhat making the just under £40 set menu not worth the money finally expended.

Some ither diners initially but ut filled up over a couple if hours. Nice menu. We mixed up with some set lunch and some a mixture of a la carte. The mackerel starter was very popular. I had an a la carte main, the cheese souffle which was delicious. Well everything was delicious! Champagne and wine was great. My only criticism would be a choice of 3 desserts only. There seemed to be no a la carte alternative or at least this was not offered. The rhubarb sorbet was lovely though. A very enjoyable experience (but I was a guest!)

Service: not attentive, did not bother to give me a new bottle of still water after it ran out. Called for the waiters a couple of times but they either didn’t hear or pretended not to. Food: underwhelming, don’t think it deserves a Michelin star.

We’ve eaten at several Michelin starred restaurants in the UK & abroad - this meal didn’t match up in quality or value for money. Food was decently cooked but very rich in a way that was not balanced by the accompaniments or sauces. This was...

We came for lunch and had a great time. Tried their lunch offer with three courses. The veloutee with macherel was wonderful, and so was the chanterell and leak pie. We loved the home baked bread which was still warm when it was served, and...

The minuses - don't go expecting a fine dining experience, white table cloths, etc. It's not like that. More of a good quality local restaurant in Chelsea albeit one where the local can afford £200+ for three courses and a bottle of wine for two....

Lunchtime treat at this gem hidden away in remote Chelsea. Went for three course Tuesday lunch special which was good value....doubled with drinks as per usual. Plaice on the bone was a little tricky but otherwise perfect Friendly engaging staff. Well worth a visit

I have always rated the Chef from his days at The Square. I had the set lunch menu which was delicious. Unfortunately shortly after I felt unwell though I will still recommend a visit as the food was delicious and the staff friendly.

At best we were extremely disappointed by our first and, most definitely, last visit to this much vaunted local hostelry in which the dining area is a soulless echo chamber. A waitress tried to serve our table from an enormous bread basket carrying but but...

Agree with previous comments regarding service; no real personality or interest in guests. Added to the fact that there was no background music, the atmosphere was a bit quiet until the restaurant got busier. We weren’t offered any drinks when we arrived, just promptly presented...

The table was quite good (7/10), service was excellent (8/10). But for the price, the meal was only 5 or 6/10. No canapes or amuse bouche was offered, just a few olives and almonds. The cocktails (Negroni and Lemon Verbena Sour) were excellent. I’m very...

We went for afternoon tea on a Saturday. It wasn’t like the traditional English afternoon teas. We stayed here for a few hours and it was just such a chilled environment. The food had exotic flavours. We were able to smell the different teas and choose before we went for it, which was a nice touch. We requested halal prior to the visit and they were also very helpful with dietary requirements. It was a nice cosey environment. Would recommend and thanks for having us!
