Elements Restaurant in Sheffield

Came here for afternoon tea. It were really lovely. Lots of different sandwiches and cakes and scones. Only one cup of coffee but water was offered. Only one ladies for everyone and she were pleasant and rushed off her feet

Novotel have a decent bar and snack menu, it is just a lobby restaurant so probably only to be used for ease of use if you are in the hotel.

We used to like having lunch here but the standards seem to be slipping. There didn't seem to be any staff around to find us a table, each table in the lounge were full of paperwork as there seemed to be some conference going on, surely they have private rooms in the hotel for this sort of thing instead of taking up all of the eating area that is also open to the public. We were about to walk out when the restaurant manager found us a table. As we waited for our food and wine I asked one of the waiters if we could have some water so he picked up our glasses and went to the tap behind the bar and filled them and brought them back, no ice no lemon. Not much etiquette there, I would have thought he would bring over a jug or bottle of water .Also the waiters did not look smart overlong concertina tight trousers that was better suited for a nightclub. One in particular couldn't stop touching his hair up through the reflection in the desk where the bills are paid. The Chinese girl couldn't resist checking here phone every five minutes what a doddle of a job they must have. But I must add the restaurant manager is always helpful but he should get his staff trained and have a change of menu now and again for the customers who eat there regularly but I don't think we will be going back for a while now.

We called here for our lunch and we're glad we chose this place. I had the Club sandwich which consisted of toasted brown bread [ my choice ] chicken, bacon , egg mayonnaise and salad with chips. It was a large tasty portion and my husband had the fish and chips which he enjoyed . We shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio which was fairly priced for a hotel but the best thing we liked was how relaxing it was in the eating area, no waitresses or waiters shooting pass you at full speed they left you in peace to get on with your meal and chat. It also has a varied menu, something for everyone's choice we also liked the décor too, we will pay another visit.

Nice quiet and comfortable bar with TV. Good menu choice and lovely food. I had the house club sandwich with fries, very nice.

This restaurant offers great produce, a good menu and a service which is great. Food is fresh and of great quality.

Restaurant part of Novotel. Friendly, polite staff who were not overly fussy but had a sense of humour. Delicious food - the Yorkshire pudding and calamari starters were really tasty and the house burger was delicious. Good sized portions and not overly expensive.

I was staying at the hotel so I thought I would try the restaurant and bar. The menu was very basic and limited considering the hotel is classed as four star. The food was presented well but the fruit salad consisted of sliced granny smith apples with the odd bit of pineapple and the occasional grape. The waitress was lovely, very helpful and polite but I found the restaurant manager very aloof and quite unwelcoming. Needless to say, I did not eat there again.

Went for an evening meal and as it was a warm night we sat outside. The outside seating area was covered in cigarette ends which doesn't give a good impression. We are smokers so asked for an ashtray. This was brought to us but it was dirty so didn't feel good about that. We were brought bread and butter but had to ask for side plates. The food itself wasn't too bad at all. Not fine dining but tasty and hot. We were using a tastecard so got a 50% discount off the food so at that it represented really good value and we would eat here again. The staff were very pleasant but I feel there are some training issues or a manager checking that at least the dining area looks clean.

I booked a table for 4 and explained that we had 2 tastecards. This was no problem at all. We ordered drinks & our starters & while we waited for them to arrive a basket of bread and garlic butter arrived. The starters arrived soon after. Followed by our main dishes. Which were served by a very friendly restaurant manager Giovanni. My main dish was the parmesan chicken supreme. This was delicious. All in all a very good experience and will return again.

back again for a festive , mulled wine , afternoon tea ,what a winner plenty of fresh sandwiches, cakes, Christmas pudding & mince pies ,plenty of tea well looked after from start to finish , dog friendly too, well done we will be back

Stayed in the Novotel for 2 nights and decided to eat here on the Saturday. Rather than sit in the restaurant we sat in the bar and got served by Robert who was very cheerful and helpful. We got the Club Sandwich and the Elements Burger and both were lovely, we have eaten here a few times before and have always enjoyed it, a great place for good food.

We went to this restaurant with a prebooked appointment for afternoon tea. On arrival the staff seemed to have no idea of what was going on, they seemed surprised as though we weren't expected and slightly rude. After sitting down to the table in an empty restaurant we were hassled immediately by the staff to decide our food and drinks options. We ordered and also asked for a jug of water, However the beakers on the table were dirty which was disappointing When our food arrived we found the selection to be very limited and not of a high quality as you would expect considering the price (£30ish for 2 people). The food was okay however the fruit tarts were not fresh, straight out the freezer which also was disappointing. The scones we were given were small and filled with a tiny offering of jam and squirty can cream not clotted as the photo on the advert showed. Overall would not recommend this restaurant for afternoon tea to anyone, it is overpriced and for the money we could have gone to a much better place with better quality products!

1 night stay had breakfast in the Elements restaurant. Received my money back from Novotel as there was insufficient replenishment done at the time we went for breakfast. Tea for 2 was served in a pot for 1. Tea was lukewarm. Cooked breakfast was not replenished even though the chef was in & out checking. Total disaster.

Both had fillet steak as main and it tasted as good as any we have had. Not cheap but would eat again. Squid starter could have been a little better as could the chicken tikka on the Indian plate(little powdery). But the two starters overall were good still.

Visted here early evening prior to going to the theatre. plenty of room, service friendly. First problem was that when we had decided to order the waiter then told us that nearly half the starters were "off". I hate this! if something is not available then please tell your customers at the beginning! The food we did have was very good and well served.The other problem was that when I came to pay (by credit card) the machine has disappeared and no one seemed to have any idea when it would return. I had to pay by cash.

I went here on Friday and requested a table for 4. I asked if they accepted Tastecard and they said that they do. They said the restaurant was closed for lunchtimes, but that we could eat in the bar area. A different waiter returned and took our order. He stated that we all had to order starters as well as main courses in order to use the tastecard. I questioned the accuracy of this. The waiter went away and returned with a new Tastecard theory. He proceede to say that the tastecard 50% discount was only applicable for one person. It should be 2. It was clear he had no idea about the terms and conditions of the tastecard for the establishment where he was working. I asked why he kept changing the goalposts of the tastecard validity. He then turned aggressive and said I am not feeding you all for 50% discount. At this point, we decided that he was being very rude and unprofessional and told him we would be leaving. He stormed out. We felt very unwelcome and were certainly messed around. This restaurant conveyed to us that it did not want to adhere to the terms and conditions of tastecard, yet it is included in the Tastecard membership. It wants to reap the benefits of the promotion deriven via tastecard, but does not want to honour its commitments to the Tastecard membership. Very disappointing, unwelcoming and will never return.

the choice was good for all the family even when you have picky kids !

The food was very good quality, the choice of the menu was higly interesting. The restaurant staff was very professional and helpful.

We found this restaurant via Hi-Life, and were slightly dubious when we walked in. The restaurant is part of the Novotel Hotel in Sheffield, and the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived on a Saturday night, hence we were ushered to one of the tables in the hotel bar, as they'd closed the restaurant area - probably due to the fact that there was no-one in!!You can imagine that we were quite hesitant about the quality of food we'd receive, but we needn't have been! I had the roast duck salad for starters - the meat was wonderful, tender and tasty, topped with a lush, fresh salad and dressing. Utterly wonderful!This was followed by a sirloin steak cooked to absolute perfection. Wonderfully tender, succulent and oozing with a quality one can only match in some of the finest restaurants. My partner's selection of dishes were equally described in such glowing terms, we were really, really impressed with the food that was so obviously cooked with care and a love of food. Given that the restaurant was completely empty, one would understand a chef who perhaps couldn't be bothered to cook for the only two diners who had bothered to turn up that night, but the effort, care and attention was remarkable.Our waiter, Giovanni, was pleasant, helpful and attentive, trying to make the best excuses for an empty restaurant on a Saturday evening, however his service could not be faulted.Overall, this restaurant, based on our experience, deserves to be one of the most frequented in the area. The food was absolutely delicious. Ok, it's a hotel, and there's always a little something lacking in a hotel restaurant, but if you want a beautiful meal and can cope with that, then you really cannot go wrong with Elements. Strongly recommended!!
