Absolutely dreadful food! The ‘curries’ taste like cheap tomato soup with some spice powder added. Stale onions served with the popadoms. Rice never turned up. As per previous review and despite arguing it with them, the Balti is NOT a balti. The butter chicken is NOT butter chicken. I was told by the manager that ‘this is what British people want’. Pretty offensive to be honest having grown up eating British curries for the last 50 years, I know what a good one is. I’m told they are getting a new chef soon. Can’t recommend eating here until significant changes have been made.

This is one of our local Indian restaurants and we do like the flavour of the food served. However, it is a little frustrating that the vegetables used are not of a standard to match their flavour. I ordered the Vegetable Balti (as a non meat eater) which is described on the menu as being cooked in a ‘speciality Balti paste with pieces of onion, red and green pepper’ - my curry had none of these. The Balti vegetables mainly consist of a bagged frozen mix of sweetcorn, diced carrot and beans - I also got a piece of potato and a piece of cauliflower. I understand that it is costly to use fresh vegetables but stocking some onions and peppers should surely be covered in the prices charged. Even if the frozen mix was balanced with some freshly prepared vegetables it would make a difference and would mean we would be likely to order more often. The other local tandoori does include a wider range of vegetables so it would be great to see Elaichi do the same. If I was rating on flavour alone my rating would be better but in terms of quality of ingredients it has to be average.

Staying in Henfield for a few days on business, we were happy to be able to walk to a few places for dinner after very long work days. The two pubs were good solid places to eat with dependable food and welcoming atmosphere. Wanting something different on our last night, we tried the Elaichi Indian Restaurant. We learned it's just been open a few months and it was a treat! Our hostess led us through the extensive menu and answered questions, giving great recommendations. We started with Papadum, then an onion Bhaji that was like a dense, crisp fried fritter with a cool yogurt(?) sauce. For mains, we fought over the creamy Chicken Rogan Josh and the super spicy Chicken Vindaloo. Sides were another heavily spiced dish with lots of perfectly cooked cauliflower and a surprisingly wonderful spinach and mushroom side dish. The staff was kind and helpful, the odd 70s elevator music made us laugh, and the food was inexpensive and really delicious!! What an unexpected gem!

Good place to stay and relax. Indian food was amazing. Interior of this place gives a antique and historic vibe. Rooms are cheap and comfortable.

Just had a wonderful meal at Elaichi, the new Indian restaurant. To be honest the portions were generous. The staff was friendly, especially the manager was really helpful. I'll definitely come back. Best part is they also do takeaways.

Everything was almost inedible and some things were delivered complety wrong. I am so disappointed with this as it cost a lot of money to receive undercooked batter, wrong items and inedible food

Being left in the lurch by a change in plans put us into So India for Sunday Lunch. Sunday Lunch was always very hectic at country pubs with indifferent service and long waits for sometimes indifferent food - so we thought we'd try lunch with a hint of spice. This visit was perhaps the forth or fifth visit we have made, usually these are on weekday evenings. Sunday lunch at an Indian tend to come in two forms quiet or chaos. Usually the latter s the preserve of normal Banquet time. Fortunately So India has it's banquet in the evening on Sunday so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! Our menu choices arrived reasonably briskly and both were definitely familiar Indian spiced fayre. As ever we enjoyed our meal and service was reasonably attentive. With so few guests it was pleasing that the staff were unobtrusive, nothing worse than being hovered over by your waiting staff. All in all our Sunday Lunch was a success and we rose replete with the warmth of the spices on our lips and a comfortable swell to our stomachs - it may have been a very quiet lunch but after a busy week meeting friends it was nice to have some quiet time to recuperate. We will be back as So India is ideally placed for Lunch or Dinner. If you pass through Pulborough and find yourselves wondering what So India is like - why not stop next time you drive by and find out. But don't go on Monday as they are closed...

Just visited the restaurant and explained that I could not eat dairy. The management (apparently new) went out of their way to accommodate me. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Delivered on time and hot. Really good value. I ordered the Naga Bengal with lamb, which I'd never had before but will be again. The smell of spices hits you as soon as you open the lid, and it's hot without being overpowering. Plenty of meat, which was tender and cooked well, even though I prefer it cut into larger pieces. There are finely chopped onions, peppers, and thick cut garlic visible in the sauce. It all felt very fresh and was finished with a generous coriander garnish. The pillau rice was cooked perfectly and really fragrant. I also tied a bit of the tikka masala which was creamy and thick with a coconut flavour. Garlic naans were large, my only issue would be that that they were a little dry. I like naan bread thick and soft, but they tasted good and there was lots of sauce to mop up. Overall extremely impressed with the quality, price, and friendly speedy service.

We usually have a home delivery, but decided to eat at the restaurant with friends over the weekend. It was lovely - great service and absolutely fantastic food!
