Elachi is the best Indian Restaurant in Doncaster without a doubt, never had a bad curry there and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a lovely restaurant with great service and excellent food. I would have scored a 5. But 4 days after being there we received a parking fine of £100. We spent 2 hours there spending £150 for our sons 16th. (4 people). So whatever you read on here it is not free to park after 1900hrs. What a joke. I'm not blaming the resurant but it soured the experience as we have never been fined before.

We booked a table for our anniversary. They showed us our table straight away. We had to wait about 15 minutes to order our drinks. So we decided to order starters straight away but the waiter from drinks politely said he'll ask different waiter to take our starters order, we received our drinks after about 20 minutes, we had to wait for our food order about 20 minutes also. The food was good, especially my main meal, but service is really bad although lots of staff. The price is OK, just service needs to change.

Go to Elachi on a weekly basis and have done for years. Often eaten in but Saturday nights are for takeaways. Meet a friend every week. Staff are always welcoming. Treat us very well. Food is always fantastic weekly. I like a variety of curries and all are excellent. Staff can't do enough for us. Highly recommend.

The Elachi Indian Restaurant in Armthorpe, Doncaster , is first class, excellent, I go in there EVERY Saturday evening for food and drinks. Going in there is the highlight of my week and look forward to it every week. The food smells amazing as soon as you walk in , I meet a friend in there for food and drinks, the staff are so helpful and do everything they can to help , the food is amazing, it’s just an amazing Saturday night , the buzz and the atmosphere is great, and I really feel part of the evening , first class . We collected a takeaway, approx £45.00 for 2 people, just before Christmas, when we got it home we were shocked to see a live flea from human hair (Basil) happily hopping about in the onion salad, immediately the thought of eating the meal disappeared. We phoned Elachi who were obviously apologetic & rather panicked (I'm pretty sure we weren't the only complaint that night), they offered us our money back which they delivered & also a free meal including wine at a time to suit us to basically buy our silence. After great deliberation we've since phoned twice to call this in & have been met with major indifference to say the least, so I emailed them through their website portal last Saturday at approx 18.15 to instigate the same, but this, not surprisingly, has been totally ignored! I feel we've been more than fair & were willing to give them a chance to redeem themselves, but their actions after the event have demonstrated a very low level of concern for their customers & towards the general health & hygiene within the kitchen. We were going to be a shoe-in for next Christmas Day & have been regular customers, but not anymore!!

Warm greeting, Seated immediately and allowed to settle with drinks whilst scanning the menu, some new dishes. Food arrived speedily though the server tries too hard to be amusing, it is not required, it's also unprofessional. He adds nothing to the dining experience, possibly a simple greeting and explanation of the dishes. His trying to be funny made him forget to bring plates and the Naan Bread! Extremely tasty and to a high standard, it's our go to Indian restaurant in Doncaster Great value for money Highly recommend We will always choose Elachi

I have rated Elachi a 3 because of the table setup/ service , Large rd table had NO table cloth or NO beer mats , other smaller tables had table cloths , as it is a Restaraunt i would expect a nice table set-up as it makes it look/feel more like you are dining out when you are drinking the drips off your glass obviously drip on you ,which isnt nice well you are dressed up for the occasion ,we had to ASK for service - not good enough - when you are taken to your table you should be ASKED what you would like 1st thing , after we had poppadoms & pickle tray WE again had to ASK ( after 10min wait) for a menu to which the waiter " just plonked " them on the table in a pile and left !! - GOOD WAITERS hand them out to each person , we again ASKED for drinks & 10mims later they arrived . Table service is shocking !!!! Elachi you really need a waiter or 2 to ONLY do table drinks service . The food was beautiful 👍👍 10/10 but i will not be rushing back ....

Nice but portions are getting smaller and prices going up alot, even the popadoms and amount of meat have shrunk , which is a shame because we have been going every month or two for years but now we are looking elsewhere bye elatchi.

Our fifth or sixth visit here, always good food. Booked prior to coming, asking for a particular table - manager remembered me from my last visit - several months previously! All good when we arrived; one of our party had a nut allergy and was checking with waited - who was extremely helpful, going back into kitchen to double-check things with chefs and with labels on raw or bought-in products. Everything brought promptly and with a smile - can't fault the service initially. All dishes as good as we've come to expect. Have just three very petty gripes; Many of the tables are really fairly small for four people; Indian/Chinese meals especially have so many dishes and plates that we were overspilling on to the (fortunately empty!) adjoining separate table to place glasses, unused dishes, etc. After we had finished our main courses it took an age before anyone came to us, either to see if we wanted more drinks, or dessert, or even the bill. We may well have gone for a desert or extra drink if they had come when we were initially ready, but ten or so minutes later, the moment had passed! And, in common with so many restaurants, management/owners don't seem to respond to any of the reviews on Tripadvisor. At the very least, acknowledge a good review or give an explanation/apology with regard to any poor reviews or complaints! This is however a restaurant to return to -

Called in yesterday evening with a group of friends after a previous visit was lovely.... a nice atmosphere and welcome... prompt service and a great table. All going well... poppadum's & pickle - great, starters on the whole good... all was going well until... until it came to the main meals and the bill - only 3 portions of rice when we ordered 5... asked for the other 2 to be "told" that we had only ordered 3... so, this the same man who read the order back to us when we made it... OK, off he went to get the missing 2... neither of which ever appeared... we finished the meal some without any rice..actually the standard of the mains was good. We asked for the bill.. yeah, you guessed it.. charged for 5 portions of rice..and to make it worse we were charged for changing the sauce with 2 of the mains...to me if something comes with a "curry" sauce and you change it for another "curry" sauce you don't get charged for the whole curry !! so the revised Bill came back with a reduction for the missing rice..overall, this is a tough review... great food but when 6 sober lovely blokes come in its not rocket science to make sure that "mistakes" are kept to a minimum... We will more than likely give it another visit to see if this was a one-off...

Visited as part of a group of 6 - welcome and initial service good....a clean establishment with busy staff. My starter (Chicken Chat) was superb... no complaints from my friends at all... The staff did not rush us and asked if we wanted a break between courses as we were enjoying our catch up... you will be surprised how many places want you in and out... the main courses all arrived at the same time... no complaints from my friends, however, just a few from me... my main (Meat Karai) although tasty did not have enough heat (chili) and was only warm (temp) and my garlic rise was a bit watery.... BUT this did not spoil the overall occasion... we all had a lovely evening...will intend to do it again in the summer time... Thanks Elachi...

Friendly staff, welcoming, we ordered and got a pickle tray everything was ok till we found a piece of mouldy flour dough in our onion salad, which totally put me off the rest of my food. Staff were understanding and told us we didn’t have to pay anything, paid for our drinks then left. Just left me puzzled how it got in the onion salad.

Myself and my wife have been coming to Elachi for 12 years and we have never once had a bad meal. It’s a real gem and our favourite place to eat. The staff are always warm and friendly and the food is always delicious fresh and flavourful. We’ve just been tonight for the first time in a few very busy months and the anticipation wasn’t for nothing beautiful food as always. My tip grab a Nawab Bangla.

We had to wait for a table about 15 minutes even we booked a table few days before. The staff very friendly, food not that expensive and quite good actually, it's a busy place but they try their best for sure.

Elachi in Belper is our favourite restaurant for a meal out and we were back again this evening. The service is always good, with really friendly & helpful staff plus the food is always excellent - it never disappoints. Thank you Cam and the rest of the team for another lovely evening! June & Mark

This restaurant is a little way out of Doncaster but as soon as you walk through the door we knew it was a good Indian. Busy , nice welcome from staff Great food and not too expensive Would recommend

Following on from the comment below, I unfortunately live close to this restaurant and not only do the waiters reside in a dump, but they also prepare the food here and carry it across the road in large pans. No-one who lives in my neighbourhood...

Very disappointing on this visit. Ordered our food but when the main courses came out one of the dishes was wrong so they took the trolley back with all the side ordered on so everyone was sat waiting. When they brought them back out everything had cooled down. Didn’t want to send everything back so we just eat it paid the bill and left.

Went in last night with my son, nearly walked out soon as I got to the door, the entrance was busy, dinners before and also people waiting to take away, waited as we booked so had to approach the bar, poor attitude from the waiter, all waiters protected with visors great, shame about every one else, food not great also, won’t be going back, very busy due to to the £10 off, all so the bust table next to us, the guy new everyone that walked past, two different people stood and had a full conversation, should of been moved .

Just been for a meal with my wife. Booked it late Monday night for tonight,no problems booking. Well set out for social distancing. Food and service was as usual fantastic. Very busy with people using the offer, nobody being rushed to vacate for more tables. Staff very polite and professional. Can't wait to return.

Chicken tikka mersalla doesn’t taste like it should, it’s far to over pieced, restaurant toilets was dirty not up to my standards, bar staff was rule I was trying to buy a botched off them and they just stopped taking to me and talked to someone else and went off into the back!

Food from here is always nice, only negative comment I have is that some of the chicken dishes seem to use very small pieces of chicken so the meat is not as tender - would be nicer if all dishes used larger chunks of juicy chicken.

I love Indian food so tried many places in the area , Elachi is the best I found , I actually travel a 24 mile round trip to eat here or have a delicious takeaway Not just great food, friendly staff and a generous free car park outside, can’t recommend it highly enough

First time we have visited and would go again. The staff were welcoming and attentive without feeling rushed. The menu has a very good wide ranging selection including chicken, lamb, fish, beef and vegetable dishes as well as a good selection of sides, rices & nans.Meal for three with poppadoms, starters, mains, rice & nans incl soft drinks came to £58 so reasonable prices. Good portions so we were all well stuffed by the end.Restaurant is quite large split into sections with a variety of size tables so you could probably accommodate a large party as easily as a couple without too much issue.Good car park outside although shared with several other businesses so could get busy at times. It is free to park after 5pm and you have 90 mins free parking during the day with parking charges over that displayed on signs.

The best Indian restaurant around, we have been coming here for years and never had a reason to complain, great friendly staff, great food, great prices. I can not name a place better than Elachi.

Booked here, first time, for mid-week for myself, wife and son. Specified a side or corner table - and all was OK and sorted when we arrived. Plenty of free parking just in front of restaurant. Greeted warmly. Had usual poppadoms/pickle tray to start, then fairly unadventurous tandouri mixed grill for two of us and a chicken passandra. Mixed grill came with curry sauce of your choice, which was a nice touch. Also had chapati and naan. Everything was extremely tasty, well presented and well-cooked. It's a bigger restaurant than it looks; although mid-week it is not that busy, it never feels like you are eating in an empty field! I imagine a bit raucous on a weekend, though. Very attentive waiting staff, checking all OK, that nothing needed replenishing, etc - attentive without being annoying! And all staff appeared very happy and happy to chat and explain things. The menu is much bigger than our fairly boring selection implied - but is not overpowering. There appeared to be a very good selection of dishes, and pricing is very competitive. Even better, their Sunday buffet, served all afternoon from 1 to 6 or 7, is only £10.95 and seems an excellent way of sampling different dishes if, like me, you are not familiar with them. Pleasant chat with Ali, the manager/owner on the way out. They offer an extensive takeaway menu, also. Definite approval from my experienced Indian-eating son, and approval from myself and my wife, who are relatively inexperienced in Indian dishes. Certainly a place to return to.

By far the best Indian I have ever had. Come here regular And the staff are always very friendly and happy to help with anything. Fast service and delicious food. Never had an issue. On my last visit it was a family members birthday and they made him feel very special. We took a cake and they brought it out to the table with candles in once we had eaten our meal. Had an evening out with the husband at this restaurant and what lovely food we had. The staff are more than accommodating with explanations of the food, which arrived with a flourish and tested divine. Not much else can be said apart from I personally think it’s the best Indian I’ve had.

My daughter had heard about Elachi by some of her friends and asked if we fancied going to try it.

We have been visiting Elachi on a regular basis for years as a family and we have taken many friends there as well for their first time experience. I can honestly say that all of the friends we have been with say that it is the best Indian food that they have ever had. It is a very clean restaurant that serves fantastic food and has a great atmosphere. The staff are brilliant, always polite and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, including the owners, who are great guys and are 'hands on' getting involved with their customers and take time to chat with you at your table. I could go on and on about how wonderful this place is but please try it for yourself because you will not be disappointed and you will be going back for more!!

While staying in a nearby Abnb we wanted a local Indian takeaway. We were very lucky to find Elachi. Absolutely wonderful Bangladeshi/Indian food: Top tip order about half of what you want! The food was well package, ladled and ready on time. The quality was top class with 3 different main course dishes all colourful, aromatic and very tasty.

Went to Elachi for a family meal for a 78th birthday. Once again it DID NOT DISSAPOINT. The staff are excellent and the food is 6. Been using this restaurant since it opened and it never fails to leave me satisfied. Would never eat INDIAN food anywhere else as the food here is beyond compare. Go along and try it as soon as you can, you won't be dissapointed. We're booked to go again 3 times in November.

Just had a excellent meal as usual with our family. We have been visiting Elachi for over 15 years now and we have never had a poor meal yet. Always brilliant service and great food. Tonight was no exception, all of my family enjoyed their food. We had variety of dishes and I would always recommend the Tandoori King prawn starter.

Been going to Elatchi for over 10 years, sometimes twice a week. Been again tonight and have to say that nothing ever changes. The food and service are what we have come to expect and always get. Wouldn't hesitatate to recommend. Wendy & Ben

Used to be a lovely restaurant. Greedy owners have ruined it serving cheap cuts of meat. It has also been given a 1 star hygiene rating!

Wouldn’t advise anybody to eat here. Food wasn’t heated properly, poor quality and the service was rushed. Very rude manager and the place was dirty. Wouldn’t have visited if I knew the local Environmental Health Officer had used a zero star rating and an improvement notice. I can see why. The place should have been closed down.

Be careful at this place now. They have a food hygiene rating of 0 never say it until ordered food. Never again. That's 3rd sept 2019 they got this. It must be a very dirty place to receive a score like that.

With great staff who always happy to help with choosing the right dish what’s not to like, absolutely love this place the foods always amazing. We bring friends and family here all the time.

Elachi is by far my favourite Indian restaurant in Doncaster. The food is delicious, portion sizes are huge, service is quick and the prices are reasonable. Only reason I’ve not given 5 stars is because the interior is quite outdated now, could do with a revamp!

Having been twice previously, years ago, and with shocking results I was apprehensive.

We had a tasty meal while seated inside. We have had take away many times but to eat here is a wonderful experience because the staff are so welcoming.

Very poor service yet again - this is the 3rd time we have ordered a take away and the order incorrect when we have arrived home.

We have been many times but I’m sorry to say the food is getting very poor. We both had our usuals fish curry for me and chicken mango for my wife. I have spent the last two days off work Poorly.

Food and staff always lovely.. decided last night to have a takeaway never been so disappointed the food was cold the chicken very dry and hard to chew the chips were also cold and soggy. 2 spoonfuls and I binned it. I’ve eaten at the Elachi a few times in the evening - always great. Decided to try the Sunday buffet, as the blurb said it was a good chance to try things you might not have eaten before. Total disappointment! The whole thing consisted of established ‘favourites’ (with chips) and no vegetarian curry of any kind on offer - my partner is vegetarian. I didn’t imagine I’d have to enquire about vegetarian curry as almost all restaurants cater for this now. And the food was lukewarm at 2pm. Not the best experience.

12 of us went to celebrate a 40th birthday, staff very attentive and to say it was buffet style we thought it was lovely! Great value at only £10.95 per head aswell, the only criticism if any would be that they could maybe provide a slightly more spicy curry for people that like abit of heat. The ones they have were flavoursome however and really tasty.

I have visited this weekend from down south and I can honestly say this was one of the best curries i have ever eaten! ( and I have had a few in my time)
