This place was recomended to us and no joke it has been the best take out Indian food we have ever had would give it 10 stars if I could, really friendly staff ,exceptional food and great service what more could you want.

Ordered online at 7pm didn’t arrive until half 8, was charged more than what was stated on the online receipt, food was cold.

First time dining in at the restaurant as we normally go collect and eat at home but managed to book in last minute for a table of 2 on Saturday, we had poppadoms, pickles tray, chicken tikka starter, spring rolls starter, chicken tikka masala main, chicken korma main, with chips and garlic naan bread, the food was delicious and we will definitely be visiting again to eat in at the restaurant, only downside is they don’t accept card but with a ATM just round the corner it’s not a big deal and for the effort it takes to get the cash out it’s definitely worth the visit for the amazing food

Ordered 3 chicken tikka curries only received one. By the time the other curries came all the rest of the food was stone cold! Hats off to the delivery driver as I felt for him. He couldn’t of been more apologetic. ( not the delivery drivers fault )

Went as they squeezed us in last minute worked it out before we went, what we wanted expected to pay £30-£40 for 2 of us, young waiter told us to go with new years eve deal thought this would save money ended up paying 60.00 lovely people and service but pricey for what we had.

This place does not have an alcohol license, and any soft drinks must be brought from the bar unless you bring them with you. You will get charged a corking fee, however, for alcohol. You can have a takeaway or delivery service if you wish. There is a percentage off the price if you collect & free delivery depending on where you live. The meals are varied, although there is not a large range of rice dishes as I've seen elsewhere. Parking is nearly nonexistent if dining in, so you would need to park in the many other places you can use in Thorne & then walk. Having done all the options since living here, although a bit more expensive, I do enjoy the meals more than the average India takeaway meal.

Ordered for delivery. Prawn chat, mixed kebab, meat karahi, meat balti, mushroom rice. Delivered right on time. The starters were fabulous, a good portion of prawn in the chat. Both.mains were excellent, again a good portion and plenty meat that was so tender. I’ve been eating from Spice hut for years and have never been disappointed.

Ordered a takeaway from here and completely tasteless. Chicken tikka swimming in water and oil. Chicken tasted boiled and dry. Defiantly won’t be coming back

Orderd here tonight and got chicken tikka masala its not like the masala I’ve had before tastes like it’s just come out microwave garbage then just the amount of grease and water on the bottom of the plate even the pakora was soggy and just rubbish

Took nearly hour and half Lukewarm and portion so small 2 mains and a rice dished it up on side plates Feel totally ripped off never order from here again

the sunday and tuesday offer is fantastic value.The portions are quite small especially the starters but your full at the end.

Ordered a chicken tiki masara rice and garlic nan bread I've never had a red masara before there usually orange ish colour it basically tasted disgusting and looked like they had made a masara out of tin tomatoes

We've never had a bad meal from spice hut yet whether that's eating in the restaurant or a takeaway.then we asked for extra garlic and he said I will watch the cooks and makesure its got extra garlic

Absolutely terrible. Chips were undercooked, mushy and the oil was dripping through the bag. Curry was cold and strange taste for a karahi, with rice bone dry and seems as though it was reheated uncle bens. Garlic naan was cold and had a strange taste and the nicest items were the pakora but I could not eat more than one as they were smothered and dripping with oil. Every component was dissatisfactory and it took 1hr 45 to come. Already feel nauseous after eating and will never order here again nor do I recommend.

We went for the set banquet (£10:95) on Tuesday evening. The meal was really great. I had poppadoms and pickles. Mixed kebab starter. A chicken tikka biryani with veg curry and a keema Nan finished off the meal. A portion of chips comes with every banquet. The meal was great value and popping hot. We took our own alcohol as per the policy, and had a great value evening out. We’ll definitely be going back. Banquet nights are Sunday and Tuesday.

Just had a takeaway, the korma was a tub of slop ,the pathia was the same, nothing had any flavour & the yoghurt & mint dip was brown . Such a shame used to be good

Always been a good meal whether eating in or take away. Love the fact you can take your own drinks so you're not paying for over priced wine or beer. Staff are always friendly would definitely recommend.

First time in the restaurant. Food great. Didn't know you could take your own alcohol until we arrived. Otherwise a great meal.

One mouthful and straight in the bin, cold food is not for me

Went for a meal Father’s Day evening. Only had breakfast so looking forward to a nice meal. Tasted ok but both I and my wife were sick after getting home. I’ve suffered now 12 days with massive abdominal burning pains and and the runs, gone to Docs today to be tested probably suffered too long. Only once in my life have I ever suffered close to this from definite food poisoning. On entry guy at front counter was hopeless not attentive took ages to serve snd more interested in vaping in the doorway. Waiter serving food noticed snd was far better. Hygiene none existent obviously. One hit wonder! Never trust this place to come back

Best Indian by far, normally go for a madras but wanted something a bit more tame. Had the Rogan Josh on four consecutive occasions, spot on with the garlic naan, full of flavour everytime, just right.

This is the place to go if you want to celebrate. My family loves going here, the food is very tasty, there's plenty of choice. The staff are very friendly and customers come back regularly. We try to come every month and when there's a birthday or other celebration. You can take out or eat in but remember to fetch your own alcohol.

Best curry house in the area for me.

Ordered food tonight, arrived very quickly. Was looking forward to a nice takeaway. What a let down, Ordered a jalfazi and garlic chicken both had no taste at all no heat nothing had better microwave Indian curry's from aldi at a fraction of the cost.... Best bit of the takeaway was the garlic nan. Shocking will not order from here again. Shame really as always used this place before but not again...

Was a group of 14 of us and we all left very happy, Service & food was lovely.

Have used this company before without any real problem. Delivery and Bhaji acceptable. Chicken Tikka Masala bright red due to additives and I mean 'bright red'. Chicken Korma the cream/yoghurt had curdled and looked and tasted disgusting. I ordered a Peshwari Nann and received a plain one. Not a good evenings meal.

The food I ordered was very nice. Good size portions, tasted nice. They didn't have the soft drink I originally wanted from the menu so I gave a second choice. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. They don't take credit cards. The staff are friendly and pleasant and ask if everything is ok. The restaurant has about ten tables nicely laid with red serviettes folded into wine glasses. The restaurant claims to have a five star hygiene rating. The restaurant is at the end of a small pathway. A year on the restaurant still doesn't take credit cards.

Great food and service. One of the best Indian restaurants around.

As a full time wheelchair user its a littledifficult to get through the entrance as the door threshold is on a angle to the block paving outsid but I managed it, the staff are friendly and helpfull, we were seated at a table which was in the middle of the room which meant I was not obstructing anyone, it is a bring your own booze restaurant, but you have to buy there pop. Had the pickle tray and poppadoms, then sharing starter, bothe were very good, my main was chicken that was very dry, and not enough sauce to make it enjoyable, but this was a one off, ive been a few times over the years and its always been good.

That's restaurant quality food is it? I could have made better with a jar of sauce from sainsburys seriously i wouldn't bother to anyone reading this 25 quid down the drain definitely not be ordering again your image opening a restaurant when you cant cook

We have not been to spice hut in a number of years but decided to give it a go tonight. I must say very disappointed over cooked food late delivery small portions . From now on we will stick with Indian spice on King's Street they do take over an hour but they will tell you that and the food is far better in my opinion. Hope you guys make the right choice and enjoy your food .

Very kind people! I accidently ordered through Just Eat (double check the location!!), and when I phoned the restaurant to tell them I won't be collecting as I made a mistake on Just Eat, they promptly processed a refund without me asking. If I'm ever in Doncaster, I'll be sure to dine here:-)

After spending £30 on a meal I expect something nice. But I should have got a ready meal for 2 from Tesco. It was watered down slop absolutely disgusting will not be ordering again 🤢

i ordered the chicken balti there was 8 small diced pieces of processed chicken and it lacked in flavour like it was from a jar off a supermarket shelf it was not spicy at all and no onions or tomato in it either girlfriend had the meat rogan hers was the same sauce like they had just thrown it all together in one pan even the rice was rubbish i ordered keema rice and ended up with plain boiled rice both meals were small in tiny plastic cartons and arrived cold none of it was what we ordered and had no taste or flavour it ended up in the bin after 3 mouthfulls if i had been sat in there premises it would have been sent back and i would have left it didnt look nothing like a balti should avoid this place i have cooked better myself from a jar with fresh chicken and not processed chunks like we clearly got

I’ve put it in capitals (The BYO thing) as we didn’t know until we sat down...when it was a bit too late to do anything other than laugh at ourselves and order 5 diet cokes! We ate without a reservation one Saturday night after a family party in Thorne, it was pretty busy on what looked like a quiet Saturday night in Thorne, but could fit us in. We felt that the phone orders coming in were taking priority over our order being taken but once the orders were taken the food arrived in good time and was hot and tasty. The menu was nicely varied with quite a few different dishes as well as the traditional Worth a visit but remember IT’S BYO!!

Ordered almost 3 hours ago - after calling them after 2 hours of ordering the food “had left the restaurant” got a call 15 mins later saying “we got it wrong it hasn’t been cooked yet, give me 15” - 40 mins later still nothing. Really not very professional or apologetic at all. It seems this place has gone severely downhill.

We turned up on the offchance of getting a table and were greeted with a warm welcome, and seated right away. The food was lovely and the staff were attentive. Bonus is being able to take your own drinks (alcoholic) This was my 2nd visit but won't be my last.

Great, authentic and made-to-order food. Fantastic flavours and really good value for money - especially on a Tuesday evening.

Great food, bargain banquets, spot on.

Don't know what's changed but something must have. Ordered by phone and was told delivery would be in 45 mins: 1 hr later still waiting, rung them and told food on its way. What arrived bared no resemblance to what was ordered. ( Dog food rather than Lamb Saag). Rang them to explain and was told ; " It's Sunday night what do you expect?": Erm, I expect you to deliver food that fits the description your 're selling it by: their response: " It's Sunday night, that's what's left!" Asked to speak to the owner/ manager and was told "he's out of the country right now". Lost our business forever and will be speaking to relevant authorities about health/ hygiene etc as current staff seem to have no knowledge of regulations.

The food at the Spice Hut is far superior to all other Indian restaurants we have tried, many of which are far more expensive, The chefs are keen to please by adapting any menu dish to specific requirements. We will be back soon.

I ordered food this evening to be delivered and was told it would be within the hour, when it arrived an item (can of pop) was missing so mentioned to the delivery lady who said I had to ring them and it would be fetched out, when I rang the attitude of the guy on the phone was disgusting, he was not bothered and said that they would add it to my order the next time I placed an order with them, said no cause I had paid for it and wanted it this evening with my meal and was told that the delivery lady was going somewhere else and was unable to bring it, all due respect that’s not my problem and they have to pass where I live to go to where they were going, he was not bothered and it was at this point I Lisa my temper a bit, this is not the first time things have been forgetting in fact the last 3-4 times I have had a delivery from them they have forgotten something and I’ve had to ring up, not only do think you should check orders before they go out but I think some customer service training is needed also

Pickle tray ........nothing to put the pickles on. You have to order the popadoms separately apparently . Will never return to eat in or out

a unusually good find, tucked away behind most of the other building in the small town centre is an amazing little curry house. really enjoyed my meal, but had to mark down as the placed is bring your own drinks. I much prefer an Ice cold draft drink with my meal.

We tend to have the spice hut once a month. Plenty of choice on the menu and rarely have a bad meal. However today I found a hair in my curry, I get really put off by things like this so couldn’t finish my meal. It won’t stop me going back here, but probably not go for a while.

We ordered a takeaway using their own website (just eat charge £2 delivery but Spice hut deliver free?) ordering was easy enough but after that it went downhill fast. Waited 45 mins phoned to see where my order was to be told its on it's way, waited another 30 mins phoned again same response, waited another 15 min phoned again to be told they had forgotten my order and would do it straight away and give us free bajji and poppadoms, 30 mins later (2 hrs after first ordering) it arrived and I was very disappointed. I ordered tandoori mixed grill and it was terrible, over cooked no tandoori flavour the free bajjis were very bland and slightly under cooked. My wife had a meat jalfrezi and it to was very disappointing, we like Indian food and have had a lot better from other local takeaways and will not be using Spice hut again, Mirchi for us from now on.

Easily the best Indian Takeaway in my 50 years so far. I live on a canal boat and have travelled all the way from the south of England, up to the north west and across to the north east. Along the way, I always make a point to try local Indian food. Some has been ridiculously expensive and truly awful, others have been dirt cheap but superb. I ordered the Meat Jalfrezzi with Pilau Rice and a Peshwari Nan. My word was it delicious. Beautifully cooked, with many tasty chunks of 'real' meat (not that horrid reformed stuff), together with large pieces of onion (a rarity), sweet red peppers and whole (hot) green chilis. The sauce had plenty of flavour, and not just a tomato base with half a cup of chili powder thrown in. Did I mention it was satisfyingly filling as well? The final crowning revelation for me is that it all came to just £9.10, which (based on my experience) is stunningly good value. After finishing this wonderful meal, I was left with the impression that I'd actually sampled a genuine piece of India. Thank you and if I'm ever this way again on my boat, I'll be sure to try another dish from the menu.

Ok food, not in the best of locations.

The service was a delightful kind of chaotic, reminding me of India. Friendly staff with some cheerful banter. Good tasty well spiced food but rather slow taking the order. Only 2 tables seated and it took an hour to get food. Cleanliness of the loo floor leaves a bit to be desired

Hard one to review this as the food was of a good standard but we were very let down by the whole evening...

Cracking food and brilliant service can't fault the quality of the food.

Eaten in once and it was very nice. Taken out a few times but don't think it's quite as good as it used to be. Enjoyed our last take out but Korma not as smooth and creamy as it used to be.

With an O/H who spent his Uni years in Bradford, and having spent a lot of time in Huddersfax myself, we'd pretty much given up on getting a decent curry in DN8 until now. Ordered a take-away out of desperation and was blown away. Lovely bhajis, ( light, dry and tasty, rather than the soggy clumps of oil soaked onion you usually get) amazingly well-cooked, tender and properly spiced lamb( both as a methi and saag: nicely balanced and properly spiced) great, tasty tarka dhaal and aloo saag( the potatoes were actually cooked through which is unusual) even the boiled rice was good and smelt "fresh" . Loads of free papadums and other extras sent with it too. Will be ordering from here a lot I think as I can't pretend to compete with their great balancing of herbs/ spices etc. Keep up the good work whoever's in the kitchen and you'll keep our business!

Small cosy restaurant with decent Food

I often eat at this lovely restaurant. Delightful food with plenty of good vegetarian options. Lots of different tasty paneer or veg dishes to choose from. The buffets nights are superb value for money with huge portions. The service is very friendly and efficient. We went as a group of friends for a birthday meal with a small child and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend Spice Hut and will be returning again soon!

La comida era muy sabrosa y el costo era muy buena relación calidad-precio, tenemos la intención de ir al menos una vez al mes, ya que son locales y se lo recomendaría a todos. Es un traer su propio establecimiento bebidas, que es otra ventaja
