A really lovely dinner with my friends - personal and friendly service, delicious food and happy with the rices as well.

Second trip down here, excellent hospitality in getting us a table so late we were the only ones in there. Amazing choice of outstanding food and good drinks too. Hope this place thrives and is around for a long time. Thank you!

Beautiful meal. we had eight dishes , all really tasty and good sizes. Sangria was lovely. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this restaurant

We ordered six dishes off the standard tapas menu and every single one of them, without exception, was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was quiet when we came, and so we could see our food being prepared to order, and we had very attentive personal service from the two friendly staff. Highly recommended! We will definitely go back.

We really enjoyed all of the dishes we ordered. The wine and beer were great too. The staff were brilliant and we will definitely be returning.

We absolutely love this restaurant, the selection of tapas is plentiful the food is delicious it would be difficult to pick a favourite dish as we loved everything we ordered. The sangria was lovely too. The staff were extremely welcoming, we will definitely be back.

Visited this tapas bar last night for a meal with family. It was very quiet but the food and service were amazing. Would thoroughly recommend! Only negative is that they do not take Meerkat Meals despite being advertised on the Meerkat app as doing so!

I was very impressed with El Toro. Despite having a big group of 12 people, they gave us an excellent service. The owners are really attentive and lovely and the selection of tapas was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

My daughter and I visited El Toro last week at lunch time and had a lovely selection of tapas washed down by a bottle of red wine, but the only down size was that the restaurant was initially cold and took a while to warm up.

We have been to El Toro a couple of times now. The food has been excellent on both occasions. We had a range of tapas on both visits and all were great.

Very authentic food, with some innovations. Must try the chorizo stew, and the grilled sardines. Have some house red, on the day we went it was very tasty.

We visited on Saturday evening and were very pleased with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.

I meet a group of creatives here every Tuesday 8-10pm. We share work in progress: music, poetry, art, film, writing etc.The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The food is fantastic and the staff helpful. Sometimes it can get pretty busy, but not always so it is a good idea to book just incase.

On the off chance my partner and I came across El Toro whilst out doing errands and decided to give it a go. It doesn’t look like much at first glance but the food is really good and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend the potatoes aioli and lamb slices. When we arrived there was only one man there (Thursday midday though) and he was raving about the mushroom, mince and cheese dish (which he had consumed and ordered a second portion to go). Only thing I’d say is the food took a little while longer than expected but it’s definitely worth a try!

We ate here as part of a Taste card promotion which was a very good 2-4-1 value. Restricted to their basic menu but no worries as there was plenty choice. A bit wary about being showed to a seat at the counter but this was like sitting at the Chef's table and we could watch as he prepared each course individually. Everything was fresh and tasty. Washed down with a coupe of glasses of draught Estrella larger. Front dining space is small so advise booking at weekends. Worth a return visit.

For a tapas restaurant it was poor. The overall quality of the tapas was miles off being a quality experience.

Lots of choices for tapas. We went there with our cousin, who travels to Spain regularly. She loves the food there and said it reminds her of Spain. Very friendly service. Chef/owner works very hard for the customers. We were offered a few ones to try and they were all tasty! Even my kids who were a bit fussy enjoyed the food there. We are planning to go back in a few weeks' time with our relatives. Hasta pronto!

Me and my partner are both big lovers of Tapas and have struggled to find a local restaurant of the cuisine with out going up to London. This is such a great find! Intimate, charming and relaxed, it has a lovely atmosphere. This is of course helped by the wonderful food, extremely authentic and as fresh as you can get, being cooked in front of you and then bought to the table by the chef. The Chorizo in particular was outstanding, (the best I think I’ve had in or out of Spain) but every dish was beautifully cooked and flavoured. We will definitely be back and bringing friends and family. When you find somewhere like this you have to share it!

First time visited and it won’t be the last. The three of us shared 7 tapas. Patata bravas were the best we ever had anywhere. Calamari great as was the whitebait, meatballs, chicken wings, garlic prawns and mushrooms with cheese. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Hope the restaurant does very well and it deserves it.

Really nice food particulalry the peppers and sizzling chicken dishes. Portion were a good size and the chef was very enthusiastic about his dishes and menu design.

Philip is a great chef and has added his own personal nuances to a staple Spanish tapas menu in a cosy friendly restaurant. Something else to visit New Malden for now, not just (excellent) Korean food!

My son had recommended El Toro having eaten there a couple of times recently so we ate there last night to celebrate his birthday. We ordered about 9 dishes from the main and specials menu and each and every one was delicious. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be back!!

This was my second visit and my friends first. It didn't disappoint, food service and sangria as good this time. Ambiance is perfect. Considering it was a Thursday they were busy. I will certainly be back again

We booked a table for two for a Friday night and from start to finish, everything, the food, the wine, the service, was utterly fantastic.

What a gem! Such a great restaurant to have in new malden, something so different and delicious! White bait was a favorite but the beef was unreal!

So lucky to find this wonderful restaurant thanks to Trip Advisor. Huge menu, superb, tasty tapas and very friendly couple. We had a really lovely evening and it was very reasonable priced. Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago with family and friends.

This is a great little restaurant. It’s a shame it’s a little tucked away on Burlington Rd but its one of the best local restaurants I have been to. I live locally so have visited most of them. Our hosts were extremely pleasant and efficient. We were at first the only two there, but the restaurant rapidly filled up. It is small so recommend you book ahead or go early evening as we did.

Very friendly staff and great food, we shall return frequently. Next we will sample one of the comedy club evenings

This was our first visit and it was very enjoyable. I am half spanish and i have always found it hard to enjoy Tapas away from Spain. Here though the food excelled. It is quite small so you need to book on the weekends and evenings. Very friendly our five year old loved it. They were very attentive to her which made it so much more enjoyable for us. Portion sizes were good and prices reasonable with Spainish Beer on draft. All in all we will be returning.

This new small venue serving tapas is a welcome find in New Malden which is usually the home of Korean cuisine. Their menu offers nearly 50 dishes and there is a good mix of meat, seafood and vegetarian tapas. Prices average out to about £6 a dish.

We arrived at El Toro at 6pm on a Friday evening with our 2 year old and glad we came early as restaurant was getting busy by the time we left. The food was simply fabulous and staff were wonderful and friendly. The restaurant is small but has a lovely atmosphere and there is really nice Spanish music playing in the background. Back to the food- this place is up there with some of the best tapas restaurant we have eaten in. We ordered about 5 tapas between two of us. Portions were very generous and all the dishes were so tasty! The patatas bravado were possibly the best I have ever had...the pawns were simply delicious and it was without a doubt the tastiest food we have had in a while. Luckily we live quite close so we will definitely be back!!!

Pleasant local restaurant with good Spanish food cooked to order. We had 8 tapas between 4 which was more than enough and all was very good. It is only a small room in the front and more atmosphere than the function room at the back.

I've wanted to try this place a while and it didn't disappoint. The food is fantastic. We loved all of the tapas that we ordered and the chef's wife who served us was amazingly attentive attentive and friendly.

Not the kind of 'microwaved' tapas you often find in so called 'Spanish' restaurant. Try the chickpea & chorizo in red wine!

Honestly, the quality is the best in Surrey! The food is absolutely delicious and it honestly feels like you jump into Spain. There is one chef who is the most friendly and his wife serves every now and then. It’s a bit hard to find parking but it’s worth getting there in the end. It’s warm and there is Spanish music of a guitarist in the background. The menu is made from the chefs favorite dishes he created himself. Great for family or even a romantic outing. The cider is delightful and I recommend you try it. I myself am half Portuguese and I find some of the foods taste and feel exactly like my grandmothers home cooking.

What a great little treasure chest - small, friendly, good value and good food. You are made to feel very welcome by the Manager and his staff. Food is good and you need to book as it gets very popular - especially Friday/Sat. Thank you for being special.

We ordered ten types of tapas and they were all excellent. Chef Philippe came to speak with us and the server Madelina (?) was helpful. It was a lovely end to a great birthday. We will certainly be back and tell others about it. It's great to have a decent eating place to go to locally. Scallops and calamari highly recommended!

Fantastic staff, food and ambience - will be amazing when the back opens up for functions. The only downside is it is a pain to park as the parade gets very busy.

Came here with my partner for dinner this week and the food was outstanding! Cooked to perfection by the chef, who clearly loves to be in the kitchen and really puts his all in each dish.

Decided to try out this restaurant for lunch while we were in New Malden recently. The place was quiet as it was a snowy day but we were given a table near the heater which was much appreciated.

Excellent food and great service....scallops were delicious and the ‘sangria’ was amazing too, the guy running the business cooks so good, definitely will come back!

Having travelled to Spain a fair bit, this is very much authentic tapas. All the dishes we tried were brilliant, especially octopus and lamb, and there was excellent Spanish cider. Only thing I would say is service was a little slow but will definitely return for the food.

Great food.. excellent portions. We enjoyed our first visit to the restaurant. There is a good selection of drinks. Menu options are fantastic from vegetarian to seafood. And the chef was quite helpful. This is a good addition to nice restaurants in New Malden. There is ample parking space near the restaurant.

Visited here last week with some friends, one of whom has lived in Spain, so knows what tapas should taste like. The food was tasty, freshly prepared and the portion sizes more than adequate. Wine was good too. Chef was friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely little local restaurant, a great addition to New Malden, tucked away from the main highstreet. The food was very tasty and great portion size. Very friendly chef and service, with complementary dishes due to a slight wait as they were so busy! we'll certainly be going back, and glad we have a new 'local' with such great food. Thank you :-)

This place has only been open a few months and we were keen to try it out. In short, it was well prepared classic tapas. Cod fritters were feather light and crispy on the outside. And the patron peppers were smoky and soft with just enough salt. House wine was decent at £5 a glass. The guys running this place are really friendly - service was quick but not at all pushy. A Spanish guitar track playing in the background was just right. I really hope they stick around - as a neighbourhood restaurant this is just perfect.

Really good dinner for two, reasonably priced and big portions. Friendly service. Had Spanish omelette, meatballs, mushrooms with meat and cheese sauce and patatas alioli. All delicious and would highly recommend - we want to support businesses in this area because I've seen a few good ones come and go

This place is a little quaint restaurant with limited amount of tables so best to book, you won’t be disappointed. The food is amazing just like my nan used to make... its lovely and friendly and definitely going to be a regular date night for me and my boyfriend x

Went last night to El Toro and was amazed at the quality of the food. Fabulous prawns in butter and garlic, patron peppers, chickpea & chorizo, whitebait plus olives and cold meats from the chef. There's a heater by the door to keep any draughts out. Lovely quiet flamenco music in the background. Service was very good - unobtrusive, attentive but unhurried. One side of the menu is meat & fish tapas. The other side is vegetarian options. This place is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to go back!

Just got back from my first visit to this little local tapas bar. The service was great but more importantly so was the food. The two of us selected five tapas and everyone of them was really good. Before the order was served we were brought bread and a board of cured meats and olives which was a great touch. This place is a lovely addition to the locality and I would not hesitate to recommend it. It will probably rely on local custom so give it your suport

We decided to try this place as it is within walking distance and the only tapas restaurant in New Malden. The place was very quiet as it has only just opened. The food was really nice, very generous portions and with a great selection of drinks. Great complimentary hors d'oeuvres in the form of olives and salamis. The calamari was lovely, just to counter the previous reviewer. We could see the chef making our food and he took the trouble to recommend a Spanish brandy for my partner. Would definitely return!

We went just before Christmas and the place was quiet as it had only just opened and had had little publicity. The tapas are very good reasonably priced and home produced. The stuffed peppers were especially good.

We went on Friday night despite the one bad review here as there is some good feedback on google. We booked as it's a small place. We were very happy with our experience of the food, the service and the ambience. We had 5 different tapas which were all very good and were given a complimentary bowl of marinated olives and cold ham and salamis. The staff could not have been more accommodating. It seems they had some teething problems when the first reviewer ate there as they only opened in December. We will definitely go back soon.

My wife and I went here to try the tapas but we were very disappointed. Calamari was over cooked so that the batter was flaking off, my wife had the mussels but they tasted like they had been in the freezer for 6 months.
