This is one of my favourite places to eat! The food is excellent in terms of choice and quality and it’s absolutely delicious. It’s also really good value with generous portion sizes. On top of all of this the customer service is brilliant. You don’t have to wait long to be served and all the staff are friendly and attentive. Good customer service is hard to come by these days and this place does not disappoint. There is a cosy and welcoming atmosphere too so for me Ranya’s deserves a 6 star review! Dishes to recommend are the Lamb or Chicken Tashreeb and the Iraqi Skewer. The lentil soup is also fantastic!

We lived in the Middle East when I was a child so we as often as not choose to eat Middle Eastern when eating out, though mainly Lebanese. Found ourselves in Kingston and were going to try the Lebanese on the opposite side of the street but then spotted Ranya, can't remember eating Iraqi before, so thought we'd try it. So glad we did, the food was delicious, the Tabbouleh was particularly good and the grilled Sea Bass nothing short of spectacular, nothing fussy or too clever, just deliciously grilled to perfection. Service was similarly attentive and courteous without being fussy or intrusive. Great restaurant which I heartily recommend, we'll definitely be returning next time we're in Kingston.

My friend who recommended this place to me. I had two friends who came from Germany and I thought what would be amazing would be some nice grilled food. As soon as we got in, it was cold felt like I was outside and ordered food to be bought outside. Once the food came I ordered the 8 wings with salad and bread, the 8 wings didn’t have no salt no pepper noting they’re was no taste to the food it was blend. Half piece of bread and lots of salad which I didn’t even finish. At first I though it was just mine but however as I spoke to my friends they’re food was also bland and we all got different meals. Quarter chicken and rice. The other got kebab. Both tasteless. This was my first and last time coming into the restaurant. I hope the owner who was sat behind us, sees this review and really does something about the MAIN thing in a restaurant which is the FOOD. This is suppose to be Iraqi good with taste but this was so bland I didn’t even want to pay for it. Wasn’t worth it at all. If you do go and the food is tasteless, show them this review.

Deteriorating unfortunately, i used to come here with my children and guests but this time (today) I was shocked by the miserable food and service. Usually the shop owner was managing the restaurant but this time it was run by some new faces. The food has literally no taste, dry, and completely irrelevant to our traditional cuisine unfortunately. Bamya tasted anything but not bamya, biryani was super dry. Some cutlery fell off on the floor and the waitress picked it up, off them off and served them!! Didn’t even wash them. It’s a shame that this place has got down to this level. I didn’t even want to tip the staff’s.

Estuve aquí muchas veces cuando los dueños dirigían la tienda, pero hoy la comida era literalmente asquerosa, irrelevante para la cocina iraquí, le informé a la camarera sobre esto y ni siquiera les di propinas. El servicio también fue pobre, mi hijo pidió kebab simple pero sirvieron la comida con todo lo que les pedimos que retiraran del plato. Algunos cubiertos se cayeron y la camarera los recogió pero en lugar de lavarlos, los limpió y los sirvió a otras personas. Bamya sabía horrible, biryani estaba súper seco. Con todo, ahorra tu dinero a comida de mejor calidad.

This is one of my favourite restaurants, the staff are lovely ,everything is really clean including the toilets, and the food is delicious I highly recommend coming here. One of my new favourite dishes that they recently added to the menu is the special kuzi with okra and aubergine.

Visited today, 07/12/2024 7.50 pm with high expectations but completely disappointed 😔 I just saw you replied with a fake review label, i hope you remember that I complained to at the reception after the bill payment, we were about 10 people , I can post the bill( £128) if you still believe it's a fake review. Uninspiring dining experience, only bread was OK.

This restaurant used to be my favorite, but my experience yesterday was extremely disappointing. I went with my father, and the staff were rude to us. They threw the food onto the table in a very disrespectful manner. One staff member, in particular, a lady wearing glasses, was especially rude. They served tea that had spilled onto the tea plate, and the baklava was inedible. The food had a terrible smell. Two days ago, when the owner was present, the staff were much nicer, and the service was excellent, even the food tasted better. However, yesterday, without the owner's presence, the atmosphere was chaotic.

I have done 2 takeaways of the naan bread so far. The first time they packed old naan bread mixed with fresh ones. The second time I asked them specifically to make it fresh. They made it fresh but some of them were undercooked and you can actually see patches of raw dough on the sides. The owner is a bit fussy. If you have noisy kids don’t take them here , you will be literally kicked out of the restaurant by the owner. Food is ok but extremely bad customer service.

It was OK but not as good as first visit, where staff were friendlier and lamb had a better consistency and was more generous. Bread first time just came out of oven so was lovely and fresh. Not this time.

Ranya is my most visited restaurant in London, They have one of the best Iraqi Kebab recipes in the town, although I visit it very frequently and always wanted to try something new, I can hardly sacrifice getting 2-3 Kebab Skewers. Their location is great being very near to Kingston station. Their staff and manager are very helpful and generous.

We have been coming here for two years, and each visit delights us with generous portions, excellent flavors, and a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are always fresh and aromatic, made with care, and truly capture the essence of Iranian cuisine. A special thanks to the staff — the service is always top-notch. The place impressed me a lot. I did expect to such amazing food. If you visit Ranya, do not eat anything entire day. The size of food and taste are in different level.

It was our second time coming here for dinner, both times having a great experience. This time we had gluten free rice kibeh, hummus, falafel and tabbouleh salad. For mains we picked aubergine stew, 3 kebabs: iraqi special, stuffed lamb and chicken together with rice and chips and of course bread. We had lovely time, the atmosphere was cosy, stuff was attentive and food delicious. We got complimentary black tea and baklava. Amazing service! We will be back soon. Phil and Julia

Always love eating at Ranya. I try to come here every time I’m in Kingston. Absolute faves are the lentil soup, and lamb dishes. Their portion sizes are huge and include so many side dishes and for £12-£16. Service is the best too and they always make you feel at home.

Upon my arrival, I was met with an exceptionally warm and inviting reception from the friendly staff, including the manager. The culinary offerings were outstanding, complemented by complimentary soup, hummus, salad, and fresh bread, which enriched the overall experience. I chose the exquisite Kuzi Lamb Shank accompanied by rice and two stews, all of which were prepared to perfection. The service was exemplary; characterised by attentive staff and prompt delivery of food to the table. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning, and I would highly recommend Ranya to anyone. Finally, I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to all Ranya's staff members, including the management, for a delightful experience. 😊

I'm not usually too adventurous with food, but I was here with my team last night after a meeting. Fantastic restaurant, friendly staff who answered my silly questions about the food, complimentary lentil soup, and everything was delicious, especially the beriani rice, definitely worth it! If you're in the area and are looking for some tasty food with big portions and friendly staff, you're in the right place!

Always a delight to order Dolma from Ranya, traditional Iraqi food: stuffed veggies and vine leaves accompanied with deliciously cooked meat. I have tried many in London, this one is my favourite. Place is clean, service is fast and waitresses very pleasant. My husband loves their Kuzi, it is really nice!

Worst Kabab i have ever had, i could like hold and fight with like a belt, tasteless. Loud music which did not even sound kurdish or iraqi at all. Very respectful ladies serving though. We came Friday night around 10pm few weeks ago. My friends did not like their food either. I loved the tea only.

We visited Ranya on the back of its excellent Google reviews and they're pretty bang on in this case. Such is the power of the internet! We didn't make a booking but were luckily found a table despite the restaurant being busy with customers who clearly know their way round Iraqi cuisine. As you might expect the menu is meat heavy with a lot of grilled chicken and lamb in various guises along with some tempting vegetable side dishes. You can even go for the lamb head if you so desire although I'm not sure if that's a special order. What you will receive, without asking, is a tasty bowl of lentil soup and as much flat bread and houmous as you can stomach. You have to be careful to leave enough room for your actual meal because the bread is so thin, light and fresh. It is lovely. On top of this we ordered grilled lamb ribs and a tasty looking chicken dish which came with baked beans and aubergine stew as side dishes. The meat itself was excellent, being both tender and bountiful, with everything else adding to the tasty package. The staff themselves were friendly and helpful if perhaps a little overloaded in responding to requests. It's worth noting that the restaurant doesn't serve alcohol but there's a reasonable range of soft drinks including fresh juices. All in all Ranya is a good place to visit if you're looking for a fresh and filling dinner.

Be very careful. They misunderstood our order, brought the wrong food, and even agreed to having made a mistake but still charged us. Very bad service and the food was mediocre. Will not be returning.

They served complimentary lentil soup, hummus, salad and bread to start and tea + balaklava to finish, which was unexpected and lovely! Totalmente decepcionado de la horrible experiencia general y lo que presencié cuando asistí a este restaurante recientemente. El personal es extremadamente grosero, especialmente el propietario! Una pobre clienta tenía bebidas derramadas por todo el bolso, estaba visiblemente molesta y con razón. La camarera fue más que disculpada admitiendo claramente la culpa cuando salió el propietario (un señor) que fue verbalmente abusivo, lanzando acusaciones de estafas, y en general completamente poco profesional no solo al cliente y también a su personal. La comida era mediocre en el mejor de los casos. Fue servido frío y honestamente bastante repulsivo. La limpieza es un problema también! Esta fue la primera y última vez que asisto aquí e insto a cualquiera que esté pensando en visitar este restaurante a darle un giro y llevar su costumbre a otro lugar!

We attended Monday afternoon and when we got there they had a table of 3 people who were in a heated discussion over politics and religion expressing extreme views which made me feel uncomfortable. The food was horrible the meat smelt really bad the mix meze was again was really bad considering we go there quite often and it is normally nice this time it was not. Towards the end of the meal the waitress bought over tea split it on my partner’s brand new bag which I bought for her birthday and went to get products to clean which unfortunately did not help after visiting the dry cleaners and the shop I bought it from on the same day in Kingston both advised this could not be cleaned due to the material and the colour and once cleaned the shape and colour will change. We then went back to the restaurant the manager came over very aggressively and said he would not a pay a penny and cannot see anything wrong which did not help the situation at all we went back to do ask for their insurance details to claim on it as it was not fair on the waitress to pay for it out of her own pocket he stated they do not have no insurance or public liability insurance which is worrying and another thing he kept saying god gave him eyes and he can’t see anything through out the whole interaction he kept smiling very cocky and did not calm the situation at all also threatened to call the police he also made his own member of staff cry. Avoid this place at all cost the manager is very rude and as he states they do not have no insurance so if anything happened you will not be able to claim. We have also made a complain on the alternative dispute resolution for consumers. Also reading through other reviews Ruben seems to be the problem on how he talks to people and how he degrades women which I assume it is quite normal to him due and yes I am pretty sure you will say you watched the 24 hour cctv and it does not show the member of staff dropping the tea on the bag. Funny enough he refused to check the cctv on the day but he seems mention throughout the other comments. Ruben I have proof of purchase of the bag and that has a picture on it too. You never had a queue in fact when we got there you were not even in the shop at the time. You seem to get confused you treat your members of staff like slave we asked to claim on your insurance you stated you never had any insurance which is strange you then said you don’t care she can pay out of her own pocket which then she cried you made a young girl cry she was never racially abused not a single racial comment was made once again you are falsely accusing people you seem to have a problem with non Kurdish people also you work in hospitality industry people come to spend there hard earned money we do not need you shouting in our face with your spit going everywhere. You do not have a sign to state that you will not take any responsibility for damages cost by your staff. I have never queued outside this establishment and never will getting an a formal apology that is never going to happen as you threatened that day to call the police you should of. You tried to serve me meat that was off and tasted really bad. You should also reflect on how you talk to people but mainly women as you are very cocky you wouldn’t like it if someone spoke to your mother or wife like that. As stated I have made a complaint I have evidence of purchase so all good.

Been here three time- twice with a mate and once with family. First time I came here didn't know what to expect and I normally eat at a Lebanese restaurant just opposite but fancied something different. Iraqi/Kurdish cuisine is similar to Lebanese but it They give you a nice starter (bread and lentil soup) complimentary. For mains had a chicken kebab and they brought our lovely black tea and baklawa. The bill was also surprisingly reasonable. The second time I came with family was a very busy night - so we sat near the door and they just about squeezed us in (they don't take reservations btw). This time food was cold, chicken kebab was ok but the lamb seekh was charred on the outside but a little too rare for my liking but still ok overall. Third time - the minced kebab was just charred on the outside and plain raw on the inside. Staff didn't seem bothered... Consistency seems to be the biggest issue with this restaurant. If they can fix this it would be a lot better in my view. Good service and helpful staff and very well priced. I think you just need to find those hidden gems on the menu...

Had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were very generous. I had the lamb biryani which came with two stews. Was also served complementary soup, salad, bread and hummus, which was a pleasant surprise. Definitely good value for money. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Really nice decor as well. The food here is delightful, with complimentary soup, hummus, salad, and fresh bread enhancing the experience. I highly recommend visiting if you’re craving grilled chicken or lamb. For those feeling adventurous, the lamb shank, biryani, and stew are excellent choices. In my case, I opted for the mixed grill with chicken, lamb, and kofte. The last of which turned out to be my favourite! It had a unique flavour distinguishing itself from other kofte I've had in the past. Although I didn't have time to stay for the complimentary tea, I’ll definitely be back to try it!

It was a long weekend and I was in Kingston to visit my friend. We couldn't decide what to eat so we just decided to hop around the riverside and high side to look for something to try. Our decision was to go to Wendy's if we are unable to find anything. Just as we were about to go for our original plan, a smell from a restaurant attracted us indicating that we should try it out. The Iraqi tag on it made me even more curious to see what Iraqi cuisine is like as I had always been wanting to try it out. The service was top notch. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and professional. I loved the fact that they gave us a complimentary Lentil Soup. We couldn't decide what to order as it was our first time trying Iraqi cuisine but the waitress was kind enough to tell us what we should try and we went with Kuzi Chicken. I was really impressed with the quantity and at such an economical price. Rice is something that I don't eat alone and I believe if you add curry to it, it gives it more flavour. However this rice was amazing on it. I preferred the rice over the chicken. The chicken was also good but it's more of personal preference thing for me but rice for me was the star of the show and the stews were incredible and went really well with the rice and kuzi chicken. In the end as it's my tradition to have tea at any restaurant I go to, this one was no exception. I loved the colour and texture of the tea as it looked very aesthetic and it tasted amazing. It was a wonderful conclusion to a really great meal that transported us to Iraq. I will definitely visit again with more friends because if you haven't had Iraqi cuisine, then you are missing out.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The vibe was very exotic and very welcoming. All staff were very polite and professional. They were smiling to customers all the time. The food was amazing. Very generous portion sizes and flavour were surprisingly good. Even though I never had Iraqi food, my husband and I fully enjoyed every single bits of the food. Definitely recommend this place and will come back again.

This is a real gem of a restaurant in Kingston tucked down Fife Road near the cinema. Not as busy as the restaurants on the river. It's called an Iraqi restaurant but specialises in Kurdish cuisine, which is from Northern Iraq. The food here is delicious and bountiful. The portions are huge and great value. We left with a big bag of food.

I’ve eaten here around 3 times now and it just gets better each time we visit. From the family style food, complimentary hummus and bread, to the amazing attentive staff, I cannot fault this place at all. As much as I don’t want to be queueing out the door for food, this place really deserve all the customers and everyone in Kingston should try out this place!

Genuinely such friendly staff. Absolutely ten out of ten service, they were brilliant and constantly came to our table to give us free starters and soups. First time I went here I recieved a free soup, free hummus and free crispy bread which I actually took home. It was really nice of them, and I think they could see that it was my first time trying their food as a Chinese person. Great food, really flavourful in every single dish they had. It was great. Their most popular signature dish was so tender and was absolutely divine. Amazing atmosphere, very peaceful or very happy depending on the occasion and people. Ranya is amazing, and I think that's evident from the amount of people coming here and such.

I understand why I didn't like this place, because the people that visit that place are people that are not from the Middle East, the food was over cooked , their kibba was sooooooo dry, I felt like I bit a piece of rock,l. I took someone to this place thinking the reviews were 4.4, but honestly the environment for me was not nice, it was cramped. Good was not great at all, tasteless, I will never ever visit this place ever again !!!! Avoid this place, trust me
