Food and service were terrific. Hosted my family here and highly recommended

Staff is very warm welcoming. And food is exceptionally good, it was my first time trying Lebanese food and it was totally worth. We tried The Beiruty and veg Mezze platter, both were amazingly delicious.

I really like this place. Since we last visited they have upgraded the entire place and made it super fun and easy going. The staff is also super helpful if a bit distant for such a funly designed place. The food is very good quality both the meat and salads. We have tried vegetarian and also meat dishes and all we're very tasty. The cheesecake dessert was enormous!!! 3 of us shared it. Have not been for a few years but will be a regular.

Deliveroo order took a very long time to arrive. App would suggest that 1st driver arrived and the left (gave up). Second driver delivered food 75 mins after order placed. Unfortunately by now food was stone cold. It would seem the food had been left out for some time representing very poor hygiene standards. To add insult to injury the 2 platters ordered were missing salad. Odd as the tray the food is delivered on has a slot for salad which was empty. An obvious oversight. Second time we have had a similar issue. Delivroo promptly refunded us but the restaurant was definitely disinterested when I called them. Such a shame as the food is otherwise good, perhaps this particular branch of the otherwise excellent chain needs to reconsider how it is run.

Picked this restaurant as wanted a quieter place to eat, and not full of school holiday families. We were seated promptly and selected the mezze sharing platter. Not disappointed! Food was served promptly and with freshly made breads. We really enjoyed the food and service and so glad we gave this restaurant a try.

What a beautiful place! Attentive staff. Food was super tasty but portions are small. The salad was quite basic and we found a little boring but the Baba Ganoush was heavenly. Just could have had more! Ahmad and Daria were super attentive and helpful with my (novice) tea selection Will return.

I dined with my family at comptoir libanais on Easter bank holiday , and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Despite a slight wait due to the busy holiday rush, the food was worth every moment of anticipation. Every dish was freshly cooked and bursting with flavor. The attentive and polite waiting staff ensured that our glasses were always topped up, making us feel truly valued as customers. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. Shout out to Mohit & Dhruv!!

Food was Amaing . Atmosphere 5 star . Service was zero. Eventhough the boys working there tried their best to provide decent service but unfortunately they have very limited staff . Food portions are tiny compared to their over prices . My personal opinion - I will only go there if j want to enjoy the river Thames view otherwise as a choice there are a lot of other lebanese restaurants where I would get better value for money [Food portion wise] and better service. Went for lunch. Good food but sadly let down by poor service. Long wait time and food not coming out all at the same time. 12.5% service added on but it certainly wasn't worth it. Shame that the service let down the overall experience.

Went for lunch. Decor lovely, food was very nice but sadly it was let down by poor service. Took ages for the food to come out, which was ok as we weren't in a rush. Shared meze to start which was really good, they offered us some more bread as there were 5 of us but this took ages to come out so we were sitting around waiting for that so we could finish our starters. 4 of the 5 main meals arrived but the tagine took ages to come out, some of us had nearly finished by th time it arrived and there wasn't a lot of lamb in it. The waiter stood over us when we got the bill ready with his card machine, which I didn't like as I like to look through the receipt. The bill also had 12.5% service charge but I thought the service was very poor.

Been here before and the food was good and no complaints. Ordered on Deliveroo the other day and had batata harra and the iftar meal for 1 which included mixed grill, hummus, cheese sambousik, fatoush. While eating it was ok i guess, although I noticed the meat kofta was red inside so threw it away and I threw away the dessert. Long story short that's all I ate that day as I was fasting and ended up waking up at 3am being violently sick with food poisoning. Don't know what item of food poisoned me but I threw up around 4 times. So yeah!

Tagine was relatively tasty but really small portion. Dessert was ok but not very interesting selection on the menu. Staff weren’t very attentive despite hardly any customers at the time. Décor is more attractive than the menu and the service

Really had a lovely meal here and had an amazing waiter who made the already good experience even greater. I recommend the humus tabbouleh and lentil soup for being healthy but also the chicken taouk and falafel were tasty. Staff are lovely but our waiter stood out as he was looking after a number of tables but made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. A true 5 star service. Thank you Malik!

This is one of the restaurants in my very short list of trusted restaurants. Competitive price, portions well above average, excellent food, atmosphere and service. I highly recommend the mixed grill.

I took family here for lunch having been many times and having told them how great it was. It was so embarrassing. My order was totally forgotten and I twice went to ask what was happening with it and excuses were made but no meal materialised. My family had finished their food and mine still hadn’t arrived so we gave up. They took 25% off the bill but I still left hungry and I’m still shocked at the excuses and no accountability. Disappointed

Really good service and excellent food

Really wanted to love this place. Quirky decor and the menu looks great. Service was a bit slow and it wasn’t too busy. I ordered a rose rum cocktail and didn’t realise it was a frozen one (my mistake) but it was so bland and just tasted like crushed ice. I sent it back and they were kind enough to take it off the bill. We ordered Beiruty hummus plate and the open falafel wrap with a side of batta hara to share. It was all just a bit meh, no real flavour, just bland. My husband is Syrian and loves his Lebanese food but we were both just underwhelmed. The falafel tasted reheated and it was hard. The staff were friendly enough and can’t fault that but probably won’t go back for the food.

I loved it! A fellow researcher had organised for a group of us attending a workshop to spend time together. Thus was a perfect choice. The staff were welcoming and friendly, great service and good food. But l love the decor, it's colourful and a feast for the eyes. It was such a treat to spend time with friends in a beautiful restaurant. Walking distance from the Station, ideal right on the River.

Such a warm welcome for our PhD researchers' outing! Exciting cocktails and dishes. Everything delicious, and staff so helpful, kind and friendly. I think this will be our regular haunt!

Went to Comptoir libanais for a work Christmas dinner! The food was sooooooo delicious and our server Harsh was amazing, he was so quick to bring us drinks and was always there to help!

Great place for dare or family dinner with themes view

On a wet and dreary Sunday we were late deciding where to go for lunch wile shopping and then chose to wander down to the Kingston riverside. There is a run of restaurants there and we picked Comptoir on a whim, so glad we had not read all the negative reviews. This was, it turns out, a fantastic choice. We were met with smily faces and had great service throughout, not in your face but also not left waiting for long. We both chose open wraps (Chicken Taone and Lamb Kofta) both a good size and had a fantastic mix of flavours. So good that we sat there smiling at each other afterwards while sipping good coffee.

Here for lunch yestrday, first time. Great welcome and service from friendly staff. Open wraps were excellent - we loved the flavours.

Very slow service, we waited for ages to be seated and once we were no menu or attention was given to us. We waited for around 30min whilst constantly asking waiters to give us a menu, everytime being met with a “my colleague will see you shortly”. We ended up leaving, very disappointed

Slow service and bland food. Spent £74.25 and very disappointed with the food, which tasted stale. 2 little sticks of chicken and some wilted salad that's £14.95. With the portion size, it seems like they are rationing or something. Better off going to Mcdonalds or Wendys for real man food.

A good place for a reliably good Lebanese meal. Yes, it's a chain, but they are consistently good. This location is really nice, right on the river, though outside seating is a bit limited. I've always enjoyed the food at Comptoir Libanais, and this location is particularly nice. My only concern is that on our last visit they were very short staffed and lunch took almost 2 hours.

Comptoir is a wonderful restaurant by Kingston Riverside. Nestled among a variety of restaurants along the river is a nice restaurant serving Lebanese food. The quality of the service was excellent; the staff was welcoming and friendly. The food was quite pricey for the quantity that you get. Spending over £60 for 3 guests while feeling as if we could have another full meal straight away isn’t a good sign. However, the food that was served was very fresh and tasty as you would expect from an authentic, high quality Lebanese restaurant. They didn’t skimp on the flavours for my dish which was the mixed grill. The meat was moist, full of flavour and the salad was to die for. The other dish was fish with brown rice. That dish was good but not great. It was screaming out for all of the garlic and chilli dips that came with it to elevate the dish which again isn’t completely satisfactory. I was quite disappointed that they didn’t have the rolls for their Lamb Kofta roll which was the dish I wanted to order. Considering it was early afternoon, it was odd to me that they ran out of the rolls without informing us after they handed us the menus. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Comptoir. It’s a fun atmosphere in the afternoon and perfect to visit on a bright sunny day. Sitting outside was a great pleasure as we enjoyed the sun and fresh air which added to our lunch experience. The downside would be the pricing on the menu as I don’t think the prices match the amount of food you get from each dish on the menu. A lot of their dishes don’t come with a side chips or rice, you have to pay for them separately which feels like it’s just too much.

Went 7pm on a Monday night, really quiet yet still got up and left. Sat there for 20 minutes didn't get an order taken despite the quiet. We got the memo when we saw dirty plates all around and lots waiting for food. Wonder if they realised we left and went to the Thai next door (which was amazing) 😂

We are disappointed to order salad meze. It was just parsley and little tomatoes but it was written kinoa and lots of things inside it. These were less but we paid 7 pound for it. It’s so ridiculous.

I’m so glad I didn’t read any reviews before I went. We had a really good experience. Service was attentive even on a busy summer day. I would agree that they need more waiting staff. But there is an app you can order from so we ordered our desserts from that. For mains we shared the mezze. The mezze for one is plenty for two people as a starter we also had kibeh all so yummy and generous poo. For mains we had the chicken tagine. Shame it wasn’t served in a traditional tagine but more in a bowl. But it was really good. We were gluttonous and had mango cheesecake and the baklava sandwich. These were ok. Nothing amazing. We had a lovely evening. Decent food and good service.

I was a bit disappointed with the service. It wasn’t that busy but we had to be asked to be seated and also ask for a menu (when others around us got it as soon as they sat down). Food was okay but the meat was very very tough, I ordered the steak and got it medium rare but still found it extremely hard to chew and swallow. The baba ganoush and Humus were amazing however! I do think the food is a bit pricey for what it is.

We had a girls lunch here and the food was good, but they still need to find more staff in the front of house. Everyone working there seems so rushed that as a customer you just feel like you are being a little ignored. They try so hard and just need to get more employees

Went to meet a work friend for lunch, got to sit right on the river in the sunshine, gorgeous ❤️ the food is spectacular, we got a platter to share and it was delicious!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Lebanese salad with chicken and halloumi, very tasty. However the lack of waiters on what was a very busy barmy day by the river meant that the overall dining experience was marred by long wait times and clearly overwhelmed restaurant staff shouting at each other. Having said that the location on the banks of the river Thames is idyllic and it's a great place from which to watch the world go by.

Comptoir Libanais is a super Lebanese restaurant located alongside River Thames (2A Riverside Walk, Kingston) offering a fantastic range in Middle Eastern cuisine. Staff are welcoming & professional. Restaurant has both outdoor & indoor tables decorated in vibrant colours. If indecisive or choosing is difficult, try the Mèze (various small dishes/samples) providing opportunity to try several dishes at once. It is beautifully & cleverly presented with various dips/humous containing extra flavour boosts inside each ring: Hommos (humous); Baba Ghanuj (blended smoked aubergine & tahina dip), Cheese Samboussek (hot pastry parcel filled with melted cheese & mint), Falafel (crisp chickpea patties with coriander, parsley & tahina sauce), Tabbouleh (Middle Eastern salad with fresh chopped parsley, quinoa, tomato, mint & onion), natural Labné (natural strained goat milk yoghurt), warm flatbread & pickles (photo attached). Relatives chose Chicken Kofta (grilled ground chicken with herbs, peppers, onions & spices) served with Comptoir Salad; Lamb KoftaTagine & Couscous (spices ground lamb, tomato, chickpea & courgette).

We sat in the restaurant for 30 minutes. They completely forgot to serve us. There were no beers, food dishes unavailable. we wont bother going again .

Arrived and waited 15 minutes for our pre-booked table. Our waitress came over after less than 5 minutes and we asked for 5 more to order. She never returned we actually had to go inside to place our order. Waited over 20minutes before even getting our drinks. Had the food come but were given no cutlery. Found hair in the food so at that point ended up walking out. This was made worse by the fact that when we mentioned the hair instead of taking the food away and getting a new mean they just took the hair! WILL NEVER go to this restaurant again

The service was abysmal from the moment we walked in. We had to wait an unusually long time just to place our orders for both food and drinks. To make matters worse, despite specifically requesting tap water, it never arrived at our table. The lack of attention from the staff continued throughout the entire meal. After finishing our starters, our table was left cluttered and messy. It seemed like the staff had no intention of clearing it, leaving us with an unpleasant dining environment. It was chaotic, and it became increasingly evident that the management had no clue how to run a business efficiently. As if the poor service wasn't enough, the wait to receive the bill was excruciatingly long. We had already spent a significant amount of time waiting for everything else, and this final delay was the last straw. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for this restaurant.

What a disappointment this place has become. The service was appalling. No welcome so we just sat down, waved frantically to get attention on many occasions, they brought the wrong drinks, the food was almost thrown at us, couldn't get attention to get the bill let alone pay it. Never going again.

The food was good but at the end of the whilst paying, the waitress dropped the card machine, knocking over a glass of red wine all over my bags, she then laughed and ignored the fact, leaving me to mop up the wine from the table and my belongings ,at no point did she apologize, upon leaving I told her that I wasn't happy and she just smiled again. My bag is now covered in red stains along with clothes just purchased. Both myself and my friend were shocked by the indifference or any attempt to rectify the situation

Slow and terrible service. Staff rude and clueless. Half of the drinks items were missing. Our drinks arrived after our starters with Jug of sangria overflowing with Ice and could only taste orange juice. This place gone Bonkers!! Please save your time and money.

My fiancé and me were waiting in the Que for Atleast 20 minutes on Saturday the 17th june.we were not even acknowledged whilst waiting. After confronting one of the staff member, I was told that the manager has instructed them to not take any guests...

Not a great branch. I booked a table for five and they couldn’t accommodate us on a table for four on a warm day with an extra chair because we’d be blocking the exit. No air con and very stuffy inside. Couldn’t open the door either apparently- I found the staff pretty unhelpful. Food was good but not sure I’m going back. Food on the floor very off putting. My mum left a jumper there and when we went back they claimed not to have seen it

It was my sisters birthday today and we were really looking foward to celebrating. Sadly the service was slow the food took wayyy too long and we had asked about it but the person said he will check and carried on doing other things so we asked another person. The food wasn't very filling and abit overpriced for what you are given. The workers were shouting at eachother from across the restraunt (I get it's frustrating but communicate more quietly or if you have a problem don't do it infront of customers). Anyways we won't be going back :)

Food was ok but the service was terrible. Food took over 40 mins and then only half arrived. Rest took so long we had to cancel, no apologies whatsoever . Terrible, horrible place to eat it would not recommend at all.

On Riverside at Kingston. Pleasant location in fine weather. Nice interior though we sat outside. Very good service. The food was excellent. Fresh , interesting and an interesting alternative to Greek or Turkish which we like. Only disappointment was lack of draught beer.

Came here on Friday with two friends who were visiting London. Shockingly, a terrible experience with extremely terrible service. I had asked politely for the tables to be wiped clean as it was extremely dirty/ muddy from the plant plot- ignored. Asked for an extra glass as we were only given two- ignored. Asked for the bill and we had to ask again for it to be provided to us. The food was okay but honestly such a waste of a lovely location.

We were staying in Kingston for the weekend and I booked this restaurant two months in advance. We arrived on time and twice said we had a booking however the young male waiter never asked for our name but regardless showed us to an outside...

So this experience started while we were waiting to be seated for a few minutes whilst the servers looked at us several times without coming over. The menus, sticky, the food was nothing more than cheap fast food, the food took a while to arrive and the bill had the next tables items on there, overall a rubbish lunch experience

Lovely location and decoration but not my favorite Comptoir Libanais. It was perhaps just an exception due to staff shortage (?), but tables were heaped with dirty dishes and the majority of the personnel was bit short tempered which did not make the atmosphere better.

I have been coming to the Kingston branch numerous times before covid. I came with my friends who have never tried this restaurant before. The food was very bland, service was slow and extremely costly! We wanted a table for 5 outside as the weather was lovely and considering I booked the table online in advance, we was told we could only sit outside if it was for 4 people. I politely requested if we could get 2 tables near to each other when it becomes available, 1 table for 3 people and 1 table for 2 people. We was told that they would try and then they ended up giving two empty tables to two different customers.. after we waited for more than half an hour! The food was terrible and portions were so much smaller and expensive. I was extremely disappointed. I won’t be returning here again!
