Poor customer service, I had better encebollado, seafood soup, and definitely better hornado. Menu prices way to expensive and poor taste.

The food is amazing and authentic, really like Ecuador. But the portions are a bit small and the prices are a bit too high, even for London.

We had an experience of different dishes suggested by the chef and everything was excellent. The chef has known how to combine Ecuadorian cuisine with haute cuisine.

Great place for a cozy and delicious dinner with friends. The place has a special and cozy vibe, not noisy but welcoming and the food is delicious! The ceviches where amazing as it was the barely risotto! Absolutely recommend!

Came with my boyfriend who is from Ecuador and we both left extremely happy! The waitress explained the food was a fusion restaurant which made sense as there were some variations in the traditional dishes, but they were a very nice surprise! The Ceviche Ecuatoriano with Patacones was excellent!! Such a delicate dish, as well as the Tiraditos. We also had Hornado which was amazing and filling. To end the night we had Quinoa Pudding and we couldn’t be happier. Great service, great environment, nice portions, and excellent food quality.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. First of all, the restaurant claims to serve "Ecuadorian" food, upon entering with my family to eat what was supposed to be a great experience it turned out to be a disaster. For starters the menu has very limited options, I was looking to eat Carne apanada "fried steak" alongside black clam shell ceviche but the restaurant served neither one. I went ahead and ordered an hornado. Upon receiving my dish, my jaw dropped at how small the portion of my food was. To make matters worse the food was extremely salty and unenjoyable. The food prices for the small portions they serve is completely unacceptable. If you are a true Ecuadorian, please stay away from this place.

As an Ecuadorian I know how difficult it can be to find authentic food and I was very hopeful when I saw the reviews for this restaurant. My family and I decided to give it a try but it was a very costly mistake. To say that I am disappointed, it is an understatement. To start, my family and I ordered a very typical drink called chicha and I expected to get a taste of a drink that I last tried about 25 years ago. I was WRONG! The chicha was a complete joke. The taste wasn't anything like the original chicha. Then I ordered an encebollado, a very typical soup from Ecuador that is served with a side of tostado, canguil, or chifles (corn nuts, popcorn, or plantain chips). Upon getting my plate, I asked the "chef" of the restaurant for the side and I was pointed towards the menu. He expected me to get the side as a starter because according to him tostado, canguil, or chifles is not part of the dish. My family members also ordered other items from the menu and they were all disappointed. Now, let's move on to portion sizes. As Ecuadorian Americans we are used to bigger portions, or at least a decent sized portion. This restaurant has very small portions, in comparison to other Latino restaurants we tried while in London. Last but not least, let's talk about the price! When I said it was a costly mistake, it was. The prices for the dishes are expensive for what they are. My bill was close to £200 for food and drinks that weren't anywhere close to being traditional. To wrap this up, if you are an Ecuadorian looking forward to try true traditional food, please steer clear from this place. To the owner, advertising that you sell typical Ecuadorian food, it is just a shame.

Small plates, little amount of food, the onion I ordered came already with lemon and totally salty. Not even a bit of canguil or chifles to accompany the miniceviche that they served me at all. Disappointing and expensive!!

The food was amazing. This was my first time trying Ecuadorian food. It was all super tasty. I went for the prawn ceveche starter and pork belly main. It was pretty expensive. I would go back, but it did seem very expensive for the portion sizes.

Had an amazing dinner last night. Atmosphere was cozy, the service was good and the food was great. We’ve shared a couple of starters, ceviche and a meat main and everything was delicious, particularly the scallops - only downside was the price of guacamole and house wine a bit expensive, also we’ve waited a bit on the main but the staff apologies and it was definitely worth the wait. Will definitely come back!

Having first noticed this restaurant walking down Essex Rd a couple of weeks previously, I finally decided to give a try, and what a good idea that was. First thing the tables are comfortably spaced, a good thing as it's all too easy these days to be packed close together and then feel inhibited by your unknown near neighbours. Secondly the menu, relatively simple - choice of two "nibbles", half a dozen cold starters, half a dozen hot starters and half a dozen mains. But, of course, it's an Ecuadorian restaurant, so everything was a unfamiliar. No problem the staff described all the dishes clearly and answered all questions in an easily understandable way. Our group (three elderly brits, well two brits and one Ukrainian brit) tried both the nibbles and a ceviche starter. The nibbles - smoked haddock croquettas and guacamole and plantain chips - were yummy. In fact they would have been good to have just sitting at a bar drinking. As for the ceviche. Well, I guess many will not know a ceviche, its raw fish marinated, or rather "cooked" in lime, or lemon, juice with extras. When done well it's refreshing, tangy, citrus, and delicious. It's done well at El Inca Plebeyo!! The mains, in our case two pork dishes and a fish stew, were delicious and filling and I could describe them in great detail but instead I strongly suggest you go there and try them for yourselves. Not overly expensive with good service and excellent food, El Inca Plebeyo is a secret I shouldn't really share.

Had the best meal I've had for a long time here. From the amazon selection of different cerviche dishes (by far the best in London & elsewhere) to the oozing chilli chocolate fondant. As well as a delicious margarita, with home infused mescal. Staff were delightful, very interesting and attentive to talk to! Highly recommend to anyone, thank you!!

Quite disappointed, I am Ecuadorian so I actually know how our traditional food is like, the portions are tiny and prices too expensive for what it is, there are other Ecuadorian restaurants in London that have decent prices, portions and tastes. I hope they become aware of how overpriced the have set the costs, I went there to relax, and now I am upset

I was disappointed that via email I was told that there were more vegan dishes than there were in actuality. When I ask the waitress, she was also not particularly friendly or accommodating. We got another waitress who was friendlier and confirmed these limited options but really, unless you’re a meat-eater, this will not be a satisfying experience. It also tells me a lot about how this restaurant does not care about our environment or animals. Will not be returning anytime soon. And what I did have, the flavours were fairly meh or very salty.

Staff was helpful and friendly. We were a party of six who shared a few starters, a couple of fish and meat mains and some sides. We really enjoyed dining here. The food was brilliant and the atmosphere was relaxing too. The space itself was beautifully decorated. It was worth our travel to this part of London! I would be returning!

Mi marido me dijo que tenía una sorpresa para mi y me invitó ha celebrar el día de la madre y fuimos 4 adultos y 1 niño al restaurante dejándose llevar x lo que había visto en las noticias de Teleamazonas porque decía que estaba en el primer rango de primera categoría de los mejores restaurantes de latinoamerica en Londres y cuando hemos llegado hicimos de pedir bebidas jarras de cerveza dos bebidas de manzanas un vaso mediado de tomate de árbol y zumo de melocotón luego en platos era encebollados y eso era agua con limón y pescado y dos pedazos de yuca lo que era la ( cebolla " No " tenia ni tomate ni nada) hornados un mini plato como para degustar ,maduro con queso bueno ese estaba más o menos y las alitas (( nunca llegaron )) al ver todo eso nos hemos decepcionado y hemos pedido la cuenta y no saben £155 +20 de servicios ha salido y me pareció una barbaridad y para los platos que nos han servido y el que plato que no llegó que pena me dio porque mi marido me quería sorprender con un restaurante supuestamente diferente que hasta el salió sorprendido lo malo nuestro es no haber hecho fotos yo me he puesto ha indagar en el Instagram de ellos y he visto unos platos diferentes y muy bueno se ve que cualquiera cae en esa trampa es publicidad engañosa xq en las fotos vez todo lindo y rico pero cuando vas vez la realidad es una pena no hablar bien de un restaurante que viene de su propio país y sabéis que mi marido para completar y no quedarse con hambre fuimos al restaurante de a lado que es peruano hemos ido y mucha diferencia en calidad y precio muy asequible lo único que digo decir al cliente o decir en las publicaciones o en las redes sociales la verdad no mentir " Inca Plebeyo "antes de servir decir el tamaño del plato que va hacer. Un saludo y espero que mejore para la próxima vez.

Qué decir. Los precios son desorbitados en relación a la cantidad de comida. El servicio muy lento (y eso que al final se incluye en la cuenta), tanto al principio como durante la cena, y no parecía que estuviese muy lleno. Al final la sensación que te deja al ver la cuenta es que te han vendido algo que no es la realidad (Según decía la carta, el chef había aprendido en restaurantes Michelin, y en lo único en lo que se nota, es en los precios). Sinceramente no lo recomiendo para nada.

Love the atmosphere, robots everything

Food lacked presentation. ‘Patacones’ made with green plantain and then fried, were prepared with ripped plantain, so I believe the chef sprinkled the plantain with lists of salt to remove the sweet taste. A glass of mediocre red wine costs £10.00. my total for a main dish with vegetables and beef, one glass of wine and a side of plantains totalled over £40.00. I will not suggest this restaurant to friends.

Enjoyed a lovely flavourful dinner here, authentic tastes that transported us to South America. They were warm and friendly, passionate about sharing their cuisine with newcomers. The ceviche was excellent and the lamb barley risotto rich and tender. They had a very interesting sauvignon blanc by the bottle, made with sake yeast, that went particularly well with the ceviche.

Food was delicious, a bit minus point is that the pork in Hornado was a bit too salty

I love this place and worry that not enough people know about it! The food is amazing. Definitely recommend the cevice starter and then any of the mains. The family that run it are lovely and it's been in the Good Food Guide etc. Highly recommend!

The decoration is traditional frim Ecuador and happy. The food is delicious and the ceviche is worth trying as is Ecuadorian fusion style. We had the barbecue for 2 very good portions. Thanks a lot for the hospitality if the owner it was worth visiting! Marysol

My friends have brought me here a few times now. The food is outstanding. As is often the case with Latin restaurants, the quality of the meat is superb. The ceviche is really lovely and fresh and more than anything the quinoa pudding is something else. I've had a lot of desserts in alot of countries and even Michelin restaurants and this is probably in my top 3 desserts of all time.

I enjoyed a very nice experience in this lovely, unpretentious establishment. Very interesting dishes, all new to me, were served up by exceptionally friendly staff. It was my 60th birthday and, tired of the usual cuisine in the usual Islington restaurants, I'm glad I chose somewhere South American! I'm at heart a clase obrera fan of everything South American and I enjoyed the evening very much indeed. Their 'Buenos Aires' beer was delicious. And the quinoa pudding served for free with a birthday candle was an added exceptional delight!

Vastly overpriced. The fish is frozen. The food is okay but nothing special. It is very expensive for what you eat, with an expensive service charge that is not indicated in the menu. We will not be returning.

The food is great, not much to say really though a bit salty for my taste. However.... The price for the quantity is just too much, 7£ for 7 cassava fries lol. Ceviche very good but 13£ for such small quantity is a shame. Croquettes.. 7£ for 2 croquettes !!! Even lamb, amazing taste, but should come with cassava fries or something more than just few mushroom ? Pisco sour very good, but 12£ each. Food was a bit slow to come, not issue for us, but could be in a day where they are full ? Was quiet on the day we came. So great restaurant but be ready for hefty bill and you might still be hungry after dinner. But.. you would have eaten good and tasty things !

We went yesterday for the Valentine’s Day menu and the whole experience was great!! The food was fresh and very tasty. The atmosphere was great and the whole staff was so nice and welcoming that made our dinner an amazing night to remember. I can’t wait to go back :)

Really great food, very tasty and good variety of dishes

Excellent Ecuadorean food jazzed up Islington style served in a meticulously thought out interior. Very friendly and efficient staff. The chef obviously works his derrière off so literally every dish is cooked to perfection making it a true cultural experience. Canelazo wasn’t on the menu, highly recommended. The portions are tapas size so the bill ran up to £150 for three people.

After having red an article I went last night with a friend. The food is unbelievable, the pork and sea bass was unreal. The vodka cocktail I had was excellent. There is a homely feel in there and the service is excellent. I will be coming regularly. I feel I’ve let myself down by not coming for all these years.
