Very good fayre, breakfasts were cooked in a timely manner and piping hot throughout, served with substantial bread lovingly toasted and lashings of butter. Lots of menu options throughout the day. Charming and cosy-with a personal touch. Will come again for elevenses!

Fantastic breakfast spot near my accom that opens at 7am! Perfect for a tourist with a full day of activities lined up for them. Wife and I shared the full English breakfast which came with tea/coffee. Fantastic portion, and it was piping hot. Fantastic for a mid winter breakfast. We also got a latte which was really good!! The prices are decent too! Came back again for breakfast the next day. Highly recommended!!

A recommended brunch restaurant if you’re staying near King’s Cross Station! It's a reasonable walking distance from King's Cross Station. I went there after seeing reviews saying that the cafe latte was delicious. The latte was delicious, but the brunch was really delicious. The salad that came with it was very fresh, and the staff was friendly! Highly recommended!!!

I went to this Cafe to have breakfast. I completely LOVED this place. The food was soooo good and the service provided was great. This seems to be very local. I will definitely be back on my next trip to London.

It is a small, cozy place. We had 2 bagels and 2 coffees with milk for breakfast and everything was very good. Similar price to other places in the area.

Visited on a Sunday morning around 11:30. Very busy, but got a table inside (outdoor seating too). Staff lovely. Range of people eating singles, couples, friends, families. Great menu - breakfasts, salads, bagels, hot and cold drinks. Several set breakfast options- I had the set brekky 7 and my friend had the set 1. Bith came with two rounds of toast and tea/ coffee. Food was plentiful and tasty. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again. Nice range of main courses and desserts too.

Far and away the best breakfast / lunch cafe in King's Cross. Excellent and friendly service, always a table made available as soon as possible, reasonably priced and properly good (actual) coffee. A winner and in a charming corner 5mins from the station. A must 👌

A small, intimate cafe, with a few seats also outside, under a canopy. The place is really popular and completely full. But we got seats after a little wait inside (it was raining outside). The portions were big, attractive looking and tasty. Good tea. The staff was busy enough, but especially the male chef still had a smile on his face for the customers. Strong recommendation!

8.24.2024 It was raining lightly and we came to this breakfast shop. Ordered Full English Breakfast, Smoked salmon cheese bagel and cranberry juice. There is a free cup of hot tea. The omelette is a soft-boiled egg, the beans are sweet, and it tastes like tomato juice. Bagels 🥯 are delicious and very filling. Bacon 🥓 is very salty, cranberry juice is not recommended. The service was great and when I wanted to spend my coins at the check the lady gave me a five pound note, thank you. The atmosphere inside the store is warm.

Had the pleasure of this being my last breakfast in the UK while travelling from Canada. I got lucky and was able to sit at a fairly private table outside and ordered a classic full English. This restaurant was super close to Kings X Station which made my departure very easy to get to the airport. The service was super friendly and if I’m ever in the country or area again I will make sure to pop in.

Little hidden gem, delicious food and lovely coffee ✨

I wanted to try this place thanks to the many positive reviews I read on Facebook groups. The place is not far from King Cross, small and very nice. The breakfast is really good and plentiful, they have a lot of choice of dishes. The waitress is very kind!

How lovely in the steel & glass corporate world of Kings Cross to find a remnant of the past; but this is no museum piece - this is how many caffs would have looked had they been able to survive. service attentive, food fresh and fast, healthy options as well (amid a HUGE amount of breakfast configurations)

Nice local breakfast spot. We were the only tourists on the day we visited. We all had the English Breakfast set- 2 with vegetarian sausages. The meal was delicious and filling. The cafe is small and thus very cozy. Wished we could sit outside, but alas, the English weather prevailed and we sat inside.

Found this cosy cafe by chance-so glad we did. Exceptional service, the staff were fantastic and friendly. There was a good menu with a choice of vegetarian. We didn’t have to wait long for the food. My omelette was perfect and so was the falafel wrap. The prices are reasonable too. I would definitely recommend anyone to go here.

Lovely neighborhood cafe for breakfast, brunch or a quick meal. Tucked in on a quiet peaceful street just steps away from the the bustling kings cross station area. The place seems like family run and has an intimate and cozy vibe which is something I’ve always been fond of. We came here for the traditional English breakfast and were not disappointed. Foods were well-cooked, served hot and fresh, and we love the way everything was delivered, nothing fancy but feels home style and hearty, exactly what we were craving in a beautiful morning in London. Our breakfast even comes with complimentary hot tea/coffee, and to our surprise they don’t charge service fee on top of the bill! Yummy food, generous portion with very fair price, lovely atmosphere, all that made us very happy customers. We hope to come back next time!

Petit resto qui ne paie pas de mine mais qui est excellent pour le petit déjeuner. Il y a peu de places assises mais c’est ce qui fait le charme de cet endroit. Le personnel est très sympathique. Les assiettes sont copieuses et très bonnes.

Classic old-school "greasy spoon" café. Numbered set breakfasts with tea and toast. Sausages of the type you don't find anywhere else. Customers include regulars and men in high-vis' jackets. No pretensions. Perfect.

Wonderful café and family tucked away near King's Cross. This ticks every box for me when I look for a full English. No frills, no funny additions, just a really good breakfast! Too many cafes / restaurants try too hard with the humble full English and ruin it in the process. I don't want to be surprised or delighted by something novel, I know exactly what I want on that plate, and Blue River Café delivers on that with some heart. Places like Blue River Café are vital to our communities. For me, you can't get much better.

Really tasty breakfast with good variety but more importantly, English breakfast and eggs benedict. Fresh OJ was a big plus and the tea and coffee were great as well. The staff was lovely and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip!

Great food and good friendly service

The atmosphere in the cafe reminded me of small diners I've seen in American movies - very cosy and homey, giving off the impression of being famil-run. They had delicious cheap coffee (£2.5 for a good quality cappuccino in London? Unheard of) and their food was pretty good. I tried the cheese omelette, which was very soft, creamy and cooked just the right amount. As for their salmon bagel - I could see that all the sandwiches/paninis and bagels were pre-made and stored in cling film, and although they heated it up a little, it was barely warm. However, I'm sure that next time this issue could be easily resolved by asking the staff to heat it up thoroughly. The staff were very friendly and kind.

Delicious full English breakfast at this cafe. I enjoyed all the items including sausages, bacon and hash browns. Really great to see the breakfast comes with 2 sausages as many London cafes serve just the 1. Breakfast comes with tea'coffee. Cafe is small but there is available seating outdoors and indoors the tables are clean. This cafe I highly recommend and I'll visit again to try their burgers as I saw another customer with this and it looked really good too!
