Good, friendly Ecuadorean restaurant. Ceviche Classico was excellent, the mains good but not outstanding. We enjoyed Pisco Sours and then a decent bottle of Malbec. Not cheap but fairly priced for the quality.

Excellent restaurant. While I've eaten at South American restaurants many times, they've been mostly Argentinian and Peruvian, so it was my first time at an Ecuadorian place. It was definitely worth it. All the dishes were good, both starters (croquettes and aubergine) and mains (spinach lamb and fish stew). The quinoa dessert was amazing. I enjoyed the decor and the service was fast and friendly. I guess the only note is that the mains - especially the lamb - were a bit small in size, so you might need something extra. Recommended in any case.

Don't think twice, come to this restaurant. this place is a must try if you want good food that is not your standard cuisine. The ceviches and tiradito were some of the best I've had. All the meals were fresh and flavorful. The quinoa pudding dessert was out of this world and very unique. It's been a while that I've had food that surprised me and I eat out and about all the time. Highly recommended place and the service is also on point and very friendly atmosphere. Just plan to come here you will be happy.

Great food, atmosphere, and location! You can tell these are dishes made by a chef with knowledge and experience of Michelin restaurants. We loved every bite, explosions of flavours, a whole experience. We had the pleasure to meet the owner, a gentleman and a master in his craft. Would totally recommend this spot!

El Inca Plebeyo goes from strength to strength! The atmosphere is charming, the drinks, both alcoholic and non, are original and delicious, and the food is exceptional. We opted for a collection of ceviches and starters: mushroom ceviche, tuna tiradito, tamal, ripe plantains, and my personal favourite, the seared scallops. Each dish was a carefully balanced plate that danced along with the traditional music in the background. We will definitely be back!

Would not recommend! Took my friend there for her Birthday and at first it was great as we were the only customers, but as 2 more tables arrived attention was not great! Food was average ( one of the lamb plates that cost £23 my friend could not eat presentation and taste was awful!) and asked for tamales to take away for the following day, I asked for them to be given cold, everyone knows that tamales must stay in their leaves to keep them moist, the boss that apparently was changing jobs forgot and had them warmed up and gave them to us with no leaves which we noticed when we got home and had to go straight in the bin! Management apologised once I contacted them, but then changed their story!!!!!

So I would rate the food 4.5. I’m giving 5 overall because it is good. Tasty, fresh and different. Subtle flavours but harmonious and delicious. The pork belly was v good and the yellow fin tuna soup was deep and comforting and lip smackingly scrummy. The famed quinoa pudding is a concoction that reminds me of crème brûlée and rice pudding. So I enjoyed that as that’s 2 of my favourite puddings rolled in 1! It was v relaxed and a lovely atmosphere. Friendly service and cool vibe and decor. Will come again.

What an amazing local gem 💎 If you want to taste the real Ecuadorean food you cannot miss it! The ceviche is so fresh and tasty, the tuna fish soup was delightful and the quinoa dessert with icecream the perfect end to an amazing dinner. Our server was lovely and give us great suggestions, definitely recommended!

Used to be good value for money but not anymore . The £133 bill between two people (with only one beer each and no dessert ) is quite high and I would expect bigger portions, more professional service and more attention to detail. There are better restaurants around with that caliber of price.

El Inca Plebeyo is the best South American restaurant I have ever eaten at. Tonight, my teenager said it was the best food they think they’ve ever had! (I mean, no offense taken after 16 years of feeding that child 😂). The chef’s expertise is absolutely striking on the plate - the tenderest meat (the pork OMG) and the perfectly balanced flavours of yellow chilli, onion, tomato, sweet potato. The textures too, utterly complementary and varied - soft sweet potato, crisp cassava, crunchy crackling, satisfyingly chewy giant corn, slippery sticky aubergine. All of it making up a beautiful meal with layered dimensions. On top of all that wonder, the service is lovely. Thank you very much, El Inca Plebeyo - my family and I will be back very soon!

The food was good but I am confused because the restaurant sells itself as Ecuadorian but its star dishes are Peruvian because in the description of the dishes they indicate the ingredients and presentation. Since when is an Ecuadorian ceviche prepared with yellow chili peppers and they call the juice tiger's milk and accompany it with sweet potato, I am Chilean and a student of gastronomy and the most fair thing is that they give credit to the inspirations and at no time do they indicate that it is Peruvian food and unless you are an expert or have a little knowledge, you would think that it is purely Ecuadorian.

Had such a delicious dinner here! We ordered the guacamole, tamal, aubergine, plantains and lamb risotto and it was all AMAZING! Such delicious flavours and so fresh. Would definitely recommend.

The delicious baking, one of the best I've ever tried, however, the onion is very bad, I don't know why they damage it, the onion is our trademark, they should make it as it is originally, plus they give you no chifles or anything. And they even charge you for the chili. I recommend that you go for the very delicious baking

Nice place but expensive, food we didn't really like it because is different that Ecuadorian food, I order some pork as a main and they bring me 2 pieces of meat with small piece of sweet potato, we order encocado and that was like a soup 🍲, they make different way,I'll not come back ,Ecuador food is very nice but not in this place,very very expensive

We enjoyed delicious food and very friendly and helpful service. This is quite a small restaurant so it's probably adviseable to book. It was quite buzzy, but quiet enough to be able to talk. We shared some delicious ceviche and patacones (battered plantain) followed by a mixed meat platter: everything tasted as though it was freshly prepared and it looked appetizing. Apart from my very nice chocolate fondant, most of the deserts were Ecuadorian specialities and not my taste. Wine was not of the highest quality. However all in all it was a very enjoyable evening.

We first ate here in 2020 and it has since become our favourite restaurant. Excellent ceviche, fish & meat mains, sides, cocktails and deserts. Really friendly and welcoming too!

Rude phone call demanding I give credit card details because of a previous 'no-show' - I had never booked or reserved anything with this place and yet they accuse me of having skipped a reservation in the past. When I asked when this supposed reservation was, they had no idea. I cannot believe they would antagonize a customer before I even attended my reservation, but this speaks poorly of their organization. Disappointing behind-the-scenes attitude.

Poor customer service, I had better encebollado, seafood soup, and definitely better hornado. Menu prices way to expensive and poor taste.

Came with my boyfriend who is from Ecuador and we both left extremely happy! The waitress explained the food was a fusion restaurant which made sense as there were some variations in the traditional dishes, but they were a very nice surprise! The Ceviche Ecuatoriano with Patacones was excellent!! Such a delicate dish, as well as the Tiraditos. We also had Hornado which was amazing and filling. To end the night we had Quinoa Pudding and we couldn’t be happier. Great service, great environment, nice portions, and excellent food quality.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. First of all, the restaurant claims to serve "Ecuadorian" food, upon entering with my family to eat what was supposed to be a great experience it turned out to be a disaster. For starters the menu has very limited options, I was looking to eat Carne apanada "fried steak" alongside black clam shell ceviche but the restaurant served neither one. I went ahead and ordered an hornado. Upon receiving my dish, my jaw dropped at how small the portion of my food was. To make matters worse the food was extremely salty and unenjoyable. The food prices for the small portions they serve is completely unacceptable. If you are a true Ecuadorian, please stay away from this place.

As an Ecuadorian I know how difficult it can be to find authentic food and I was very hopeful when I saw the reviews for this restaurant. My family and I decided to give it a try but it was a very costly mistake. To say that I am disappointed, it is an understatement. To start, my family and I ordered a very typical drink called chicha and I expected to get a taste of a drink that I last tried about 25 years ago. I was WRONG! The chicha was a complete joke. The taste wasn't anything like the original chicha. Then I ordered an encebollado, a very typical soup from Ecuador that is served with a side of tostado, canguil, or chifles (corn nuts, popcorn, or plantain chips). Upon getting my plate, I asked the "chef" of the restaurant for the side and I was pointed towards the menu. He expected me to get the side as a starter because according to him tostado, canguil, or chifles is not part of the dish. My family members also ordered other items from the menu and they were all disappointed. Now, let's move on to portion sizes. As Ecuadorian Americans we are used to bigger portions, or at least a decent sized portion. This restaurant has very small portions, in comparison to other Latino restaurants we tried while in London. Last but not least, let's talk about the price! When I said it was a costly mistake, it was. The prices for the dishes are expensive for what they are. My bill was close to £200 for food and drinks that weren't anywhere close to being traditional. To wrap this up, if you are an Ecuadorian looking forward to try true traditional food, please steer clear from this place. To the owner, advertising that you sell typical Ecuadorian food, it is just a shame.

The food was amazing. This was my first time trying Ecuadorian food. It was all super tasty. I went for the prawn ceveche starter and pork belly main. It was pretty expensive. I would go back, but it did seem very expensive for the portion sizes.

Had an amazing dinner last night. Atmosphere was cozy, the service was good and the food was great. We’ve shared a couple of starters, ceviche and a meat main and everything was delicious, particularly the scallops - only downside was the price of guacamole and house wine a bit expensive, also we’ve waited a bit on the main but the staff apologies and it was definitely worth the wait. Will definitely come back!

Having first noticed this restaurant walking down Essex Rd a couple of weeks previously, I finally decided to give a try, and what a good idea that was. First thing the tables are comfortably spaced, a good thing as it's all too easy these days to be packed close together and then feel inhibited by your unknown near neighbours. Secondly the menu, relatively simple - choice of two "nibbles", half a dozen cold starters, half a dozen hot starters and half a dozen mains. But, of course, it's an Ecuadorian restaurant, so everything was a unfamiliar. No problem the staff described all the dishes clearly and answered all questions in an easily understandable way. Our group (three elderly brits, well two brits and one Ukrainian brit) tried both the nibbles and a ceviche starter. The nibbles - smoked haddock croquettas and guacamole and plantain chips - were yummy. In fact they would have been good to have just sitting at a bar drinking. As for the ceviche. Well, I guess many will not know a ceviche, its raw fish marinated, or rather "cooked" in lime, or lemon, juice with extras. When done well it's refreshing, tangy, citrus, and delicious. It's done well at El Inca Plebeyo!! The mains, in our case two pork dishes and a fish stew, were delicious and filling and I could describe them in great detail but instead I strongly suggest you go there and try them for yourselves. Not overly expensive with good service and excellent food, El Inca Plebeyo is a secret I shouldn't really share.

Had the best meal I've had for a long time here. From the amazon selection of different cerviche dishes (by far the best in London & elsewhere) to the oozing chilli chocolate fondant. As well as a delicious margarita, with home infused mescal. Staff were delightful, very interesting and attentive to talk to! Highly recommend to anyone, thank you!!

Ecuadorian food I thought. I'll try that. My god it's good. Everyone needs to try this at least once. Nice atmosphere,service impeccable and reasonably priced.
