This is the best Indian cuisine in London. The flavours are exceptional. The quality of the ingredients is wonderful and the staff are amazing. Particularly, Krupa, who is wonderfully attentive, warm and welcoming. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Eat here. Now.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES, particularly if you are coeliac. Their allergen labelling is WRONG but they will argue with you about it and tell you “it just contains a little bit...”. So, even though they appear to be very good at allergy labelling on their menu, I would not trust it. See below for details : I didn’t eat at OMNOM but I went into the restaurant to ask if they used the spice called ‘asafoetida’ in their food. Depending on the brand used, this spice is often mixed with wheat flour. I am coeliac, meaning I can’t eat any gluten (including wheat), so I have to check whether this spice is used before I eat at Indian restaurants as it is quite commonly used. The manager told me that they do use asafoetida, but that they get different brands all the time so sometimes the asafoetida they use contains wheat and sometimes it doesn’t. In fact he said that over 70% of the time they use a brand that contains wheat. ALL of the dishes that I asked about contained asafoetida but were clearly marked as gluten free on their menu. I told him that these items should not be marked as gluten free if they sometimes contain wheat flour. He then started lecturing me about “do you know how this spice is manufactured” “it’s only a small amount flour”???! It doesn’t matter if it’s only a small amount of flour! A small amount of flour can make a coeliac seriously unwell and cause internal damage. Plus, IF YOU ARE KNOWINGLY PUTTING SOMETHING IN THE FOOD THAT CONTAINS GLUTEN THEN YOU CANNOT MARK IT AS GLUTEN FREE ON YOUR MENU. The asafoetida he said he put in the dishes “over 70% of the time” literally CONTAINS WHEAT. It’s not a “may contain wheat”, it is quite literally mixed with wheat flour. Also, this is besides the point really, but asafoetida is often mixed with quite a lot of flour, some say it’s about half of the mixture so it’s not “just a bit”. The manager argued to death with me and kept changing his story about how often they use the wheat-containing asafoetida and kept trying to wrongfully lecture me about what I can and can’t eat despite me being diagnosed with coeliac disease for over 10 years. I ended up getting frustrated and walked out after about 10 minutes of this back and forth. This was now quite a few months ago and I’ve only just remembered to write this review, so if they’ve now removed the incorrect gluten free labels from their menu or they’ve decided to commit to only using the asafoetida that doesn’t contain wheat, then I am happy to amend my review. But as for now, a word of warning if you have any allergies, because they clearly have no idea about them but will insist they’re not in the wrong. I will also be reporting to food standards agency if they don’t make the relevant changes. Also, as a side note despite the restaurant being virtually empty, and there being a surplus of staff, it took at least 10 minutes for the manager to speak with us when we came in because he was having a causal chat with one of the waiters. So, as others have mentioned in their reviews, I wouldn’t expect fast service from them. I don’t get the impression they care about their customers (at least not the manager I spoke to). It’s such a shame because the restaurant looked nice enough, as did the food. But this is ultimately a matter of poor health and safety practices.

I recently attended an event at Omnom, and the experience was truly unforgettable! From the moment I walked in, the environment felt warm and welcoming. Although I was fasting and didn’t have a chance to try the food this time, the presentation looked absolutely amazing, and I’ve heard wonderful things about it. I’m definitely looking forward to trying their dishes during my next visit! What really stood out for me was the overall ambiance. Whether you’re there for a casual meal or a special event, Omnom has an energy that feels vibrant yet relaxing. It's the kind of place that makes you want to stay and enjoy the atmosphere. If you're looking for a venue with a great atmosphere and impeccable service, I highly recommend Omnom. I’ll be back soon to experience the food firsthand!

We were attending a show at the theatre next to this restaurant. I've read the reviews and it looked promising. It did exceed our expectations. We ordered few vegan dishes. There was a hiccup with one of the dishes, which we thought it was vegan but it had butter and cream. The waitress didn't tell us. They apologised and offered a second dish . I must confess my favourite one was the dessert. The warm chocolate brownie with ice-cream. The atmosphere is very nice. Loved the style and decor.

Delicious vegan food. Loved the plant based chick’n and prawn. The curry was particularly tasty. The naan slender, stretchy, and light. Service is prompt and no nonsense. Understated chant like music adds to the ambiance. The place is also a yoga and meditation centre.

No need to say anything! Agree with the 5 stars. Food tastes delicious. You can really taste the spices and different flavours. Best Indian food I had in a very long time since I don’t live in London anymore.

Recently came here for my mum's birthday as it caters for the whole family. Staff were great and patient as we were a large group with kids. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The menu has a lovely choice of dishes. We ordered the beetroot kebabs, spinach chaat, masala mogo, Pani puri, the navratri appetizer plate, surti undhiu, house dhal, paneer Labaadar, jackfruit biryani, naan basket. The food was very tasty and a hit with the whole family. They were also able to cater the dosa for kids which was great. I loved the spinach chaat but would have wanted a little more in the plate, it seemed like a very small portion for the price Mogo was an overall favourite The pistachio lassie was delicious. Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes

Highly recommended... I am overdue on this review, but did not wanted to miss the opportunity. I visited this place about a month ago. Food was very tasty along with tranquil atmosphere. Best part was customer service was amazing. Next time you visit this place make sure you ask for Krupaben. Our large party loved the food so much, we went back to same place next night. We are hoping if they open one of those in United States 🤣.

Omnon on Upper Street Islington is my top-of-the-list “goto”. My first thought when meeting up with a friend, a nibble mid-outing or even, like today, when I’ve been a we poorly all week and want a pick-me-up as I recover. Delicious, comfort Vegan/Vegetarian Indian cuisine in a bright, open-plan, beautifully decorated venue. The prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the upmarket location. Although the food is honestly the reason I keep coming back; I really appreciate that you can hear your companion even when it’s busy. The staff are always warm and friendly making for a genuinely enjoyable dinning experience. There is a great area for bigger groups also available. Upstairs there is a venue that is used for classes and events like Kieran and yoga. The website carries the details.

Had a nice time, the curries were unique, flavorful, and the rotis were thin and crisp. At the same time certain dishes felt quite steep, like the 7 quid papri chaat.

We thoroughly enjoyed Omnom, so much so that we came back a week later. We had the chit chat platter and labbabdar paneer, mango lassi, masala chai and chocolate brownie which were all excellent. Very beautiful upscale decor and warm friendly staff. A little on the pricey side (albeit expected in Angel / Upper street) I guess but a very nice restaurant for a nice occasion or date night

The food was average, it caused me a bad stomach pain, the service was painfully slow even though there were just 3 tables with people in the restaurant at that time including my own, I think the food was partially cooked or was it the oil but it really made my stomach upset.

First time came to this indian vegan restaurant. The menu was so big and everything was well explained. Food was delicious (we had masala dosa, beetroot kebab, masala fries, spinach chaat, batata vada, saag and vada pau). The staff was very polite and serving. The only problem was that on the menu online, its written jalebi (dessert) is glutenfree but its not….i came to try it but unfortunately couldnt so i had the halwa instead to take away. It doesnt look as good as it tasted by the way!

Delicious afternoon tea from starter drinks to the sweets. The tea was fabulous. The savouries particularly the wrap and the kebab were our favourites. Leaving feeling happy and satisfied!

One of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had!

I loved everything about this place. The masala dosa was excellent, both it and the sambar that came with it tasted really authentic. There was something very calming about this place, from the decor to the music. And finally the staff were both attentive and nice. I really enjoyed lunch here.

Walked by this place randomly and was pulled in by the delicious smell! The paneer butter masala didn't disappoint, the flavour had depth and the sauce was creamy without being heavy. I'm not a vegetarian but I didn’t miss the meat at all. This meal made me happy after a long, busy day at work!

Great food that stands out among other Indian food restaurants

Amazing food! This is an amazing option for anyone that is (or enjoys) Vegetarian and/or vegan food, and enjoys Indian cuisine. The starters, main, dessert and drinks were immaculately prepared. I highly recommend this option for anyone travelling or living near Islington!

We went for lunch today, but were disappointed. The samosa burger took ages to arrive and the other two dinners were half way through their meal by the time it arrived. The daily special was underwhelming. It tasted fine, but the accompanying parts were slightly browned chopped salad and a vanilla flavoured yoghurt?! It is a pity, because we were looking forward to a nice vegetarian meal. The lady that served us was friendly though. It's a promising concept, but needs more work.

We was serviced by a young lady called Krupa, she was lovely and looked after us so well, my mother in law had a special desert for her birthday. Was very satisfied with the food was one of the best we’ve had in London very happy with this place highly recommend.

Krupa, Well what can we say,, from the start the service was wonderful, friendly and helpful and then the food came, OUTSTANDING!! We came here for the first time, it was my sisters Birthday and we were treated to a beautiful surprise cake and the whole place sang Happy Birthday, thank you for making this a night never to be forgotten,,, Namaste!

We went to this restaurant for lunch but that was well out of the normal lunch hours (3pm) so we surprisingly came across the afternoon tea menu instead, which exceed our expectations. It’s an offer for off peak hours and we couldn’t be any happier. £45 for 2 people including a 3-level tower of small different items, including dessert and welcome drinks (and even scones!). We’ve never seen an Indian afternoon tea before and being fully vegan was certainly what impressed us even more! The atmosphere is great with glass from side to sidd, giving us great views of the outside area. It was also relatively sunny. We strongly recommend this place. What a great idea of a place for a more unique Indian dining :) Very pleased.

Omnom has the most authentic, vegan Indian food I have yet tried outside of India! The vegan chicken tastes incredibly meaty and good! Also tried Jalebi here for the first time, which is a very traditional Indian sweet dish I heard plenty about but never found anywhere! We will be back for sure!! 🔥♥️

Had the Namaste Navratan, and Gujarati Pulav rice. Everything was excellent, very well spiced and just the right amount of heat for my liking. Services was fantastic and the atmosphere was great (I sat outside).

Great lunch here today. We shared what they called Chit Chat to start - two different dishes (Masala Puri & Surti Papdi) that were both fantastic. The dosas were delicious too but my fave dish was a cauliflower sub (that I can’t remember the name of) which I could eat all day. We will be back.

I'm annoyed at the misleading menu!! The place has a nice vibe but it was only until I ate the food that I found out that it's pure vegetarian. I went to this place and ordered the "chili chicken" only to find out it was plant based. They shouldn't be calling it chicken without using the words fake or mock in front of it. It's only until you read the description in little writing does it say plant based. It's very misleading. I've got no problems with you selling mock chicken but clearly state that in the title. The food was less than average, cheesy naan was soggy, the pani puri was tasteless. The paneer was good but by this the disappointment had set in. I don't feel this is authentic Indian food, the flavors are dubbed down.

The interior was nice, but the momos weren't fresh and the Indian food wasn't very authentic. Additionally, the prices were too high for the quality of the food.

Vijay is the most kind hearted man, he gave me a book for my first Kirtan experience. Something to always remember. The food is unbelievable and everyone is so friendly and caring.

Delicious veggie Indian restaurant! Having travelled in India, the food is more authentically Indian than “British Indian” - the food was flavourful, tasty, and not greasy at all (like many Indians can be). It was impressive to see so many patrons of Indian descent dining here, which is always a great indicator of the restaurant's authenticity. The food truly lived up to its reputation! While it’s a vegetarian based Indian, it shouldn’t put the meat eaters off - all our carnivore friends at dinner really enjoyed their curries and samosas and everything else! They also cater really well for vegans and gluten free diners as well.

10/10 food, ambience and service

The restaurant serves authentic Indian food however was quite disappointed with the service. I called initially to book a table for an hour later but they said we have spaces available so you can just walk in. When we walked in, we had to wait for 45 mins. Finally got the table but waited again for almost an hr before we were served. If you don’t have capacity please do not take any orders. I guess the restaurant focuses more on celebrity guests.

Drinks are nice, like lassis and I had a very good coctail here once. However, the food failed to impress me. Portions are very small and prices are disproportionately high. I had a samosa chaat that consisted of half a samosa and a small spoon of chickpeas hidden nicely under some pomegranate seeds and raita. It didn't even taste nice and I paid 10 pounds for something that was worth no more than 2 pounds.
