Efes Restaurant in Kingston upon Hull, City of

I visited when this first opened and once more after and it was fantastic, it had the barbecue grills along one wall with all the prepared meats and veg. However, recently or in the last year or so, it has list its way. The staff are slow to serve and the grill station has been removed. They have opened a fast food take out only a few shops down and I'm not keen on either. The food wasn't all that and I lived in Turkey for 7 years. We were so happy when it opened but won't visit again. Expensive for what it is. Shame.

Chips warm soggy and stuck together chicken strips burnt and kebab meat overcooked Best to be avoided

Where do I start, visited this week . Placed order only to be told couldn’t pay by card as no internet cash only . How could that possibly be no internet when you have just eat? No staff had any PPE on . All our kababs where rubbish, boiled white rice , ( isn’t that what comes with a Chinese ?) got 3 different kababs and all 3 where horrid . Will not be returning.

I hate writing negative reviews but I’m genuinely shocked, I visited a few years ago and the food here was amazing, little tapas treats brought out to the table, friendly owner letting us all about the different foods they do, a real family feel. Unfortunately I decided to come back yesterday for my partners birthday and was so upset at the decline of this place , I was slightly embarrassed because I told him he’d love it. Music was so loud I thought I’d walked into a. Nightclub, we tried to put up with it but couldn’t chat whilst waiting for our meals sat with a drink from the bar, we looked at the menu to order and what my partner wanted wasn’t available, menu was already very limited ( possibly shortened do to eat out to help out scheme) waitress couldn’t understand us at all, in the end we just basically pointed to something on the menu, food was served quite quickly which is the only positive I can think of. We both ordered lamb kofte meals and have read review about the mushrooms been delicious so wanted to sample them too. Kebabs were cold, rice hard and undercooked, mushrooms just tasted like mushrooms no taste although they were in a sauce with halloumi . We left in a hurry and saved the night going to cinema and a game of pool. I know it’s tough for restaurants at the moment but please take back the reins to this once fantastic restaurant. I’ve posted a photo of what I couldn’t eat. So glad it was discounted as I would have been more upset.we were also approached by a couple outside who were sitting on the table near to us, they asked us what we thought of the food, was it as bad for us as them.

Went to Efes tapas restaurant. Not sure if the guy wearing a bow tie is the manager but he is rude and passive aggressive to other staff members. This is visual to anyone in the restaurant. No hand sanitizer available when going in the restaurant. Food - disappointed, the food tasted okay but chicken pieces were small. The rice was just boiled rice I had expected traditional Turkish rice so that was disappointing. The bread was very very dry and didn’t come with any dips at all. Not a patch on how it used to be before it changed owners. Won’t rush back and wouldn’t have paid full price the blow was softened by the fact that it was eat out to help out.

We pre-booked a table for 6.30 pm, upon arrival we were directed to a table that was between two other full tables of customers that were most definitely not the recommended minimum of 1m+ away from the next table. If we had accepted that table, the backs of our chairs would be touching the other diners'. We refused this table and were moved to a more distanced table in the window. Cutlery was laid out on the tables but no menus. After a while, our drinks order was taken and we were asked by the waitress if we had already ordered food, we had to point out that we had not yet even seen a menu. The menu we were given was very different to the one we had seen online but we presumed that it was a streamlined version with recent reopening and the increased business due to the 'eat out to help out' scheme. This meant that there were limited options for the two vegetarians, but we placed our order, a mix of starters and mains. After an hour of waiting, during which nobody had checked in with our table or apologised for the extensive wait, we asked for an update on where our starters were to be told they were coming shortly. There were 4/5 staff on shift in the restaurant but there seemed to be no system in place for waiting on tables with any efficiency. We had ordered 2 x hummus, 2 x halloumi and a portion of olives, not exactly a complicated order with most of it being cold! We were close to walking out of the restaurant when, at 7.45, our starters were finally brought out. As they were being served, we were then told that they had run out of hummus so could only do us one portion! The halloumi was very tasty, the hummus was ok and the bread a little dry. As we were waiting for the mains, one of the waiters came over to apologise for the wait and explained that they had been let down by one of the chefs and offered us a round of drinks on the house. We appreciate that there were extenuating circumstances, but it was a little late to acknowledge this over an hour and a half into our visit. We placed our order for the drinks, but none arrived at the table. At this point a man came over to the table who had been sat at the bar with his daughter and asked if we had been offered anything. When we explained he said he would chase it up for us. This man said that he was the son of the owner / manager and apologised saying that it was not normally like this. The poor guy then ended up clearing and cleaning tables and speaking to customers when he was quite clearly not on shift - he had better customer service than all of the other staff combined and checked in with us more than anyone else working that night! We again had a long wait until the mains were served at 8.25pm (almost 2 hours after our arrival at the restaurant). The meat on the Efes grills were enjoyed by the meat eaters but they said that the chips were not great and that the rice tasted like boil in the bag. The two vegetarians shared the garlic mushroom and halloumi starters - the mushrooms were delicious! The side order of chips followed a little later but had to be sent back to the kitchen as they were still hard in the middle. We asked for the bill and were thankful for the 50% off with the government scheme as it would have been almost a £90 bill without it and we would have been extremely disappointed to have paid this for such a meal. We were then asked by two members of staff if it was worth the wait!? Absolutely not!! Possibly the worst service we have ever experienced for mediocre food. We will most definitely not be returning.

Tried getting in touch with the takeaway but can't so leaving review here ...just ordered food it was nice apart from chicken burger at £4 for burger alone no salad or sauce it would have been acceptable if it was a chicken fillet but it wasn't it was like a manufacturered breaded chicken burger....sorry but it was very disappointing

Went for first time with the husband for our wedding anniversary.. For starters we had the Garlic mushroom.s by far the best I have ever tasted and the spicy prawns again lovely. For the main we shared a efes platter not sure on the name. More than enough for two we could not manage it all. Came with chips rice and a side salad. I drank mojito which was not weal and watered down plenty of bacardi in it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place clean and would definitely go again

Once a regular to the restaurant which has now expanded to the efes takeaway to cover the takeaway side of the business. I will no longer order for a collection from this place the quality and quantity of the food has declined massively. I'm sorry efes but you can not charge the same restuarent prices for this crap. I paid 10 pound for an half filled foil tray, a few pieces of meat and some bland white rice. To top it off the home baked bread you used to serve you have now replaced with the cardboard pitta one can buy from the local aldi.

Visited the recently opened Efe takeaway that is just a few doors down from the refurbished Efe tapas restaurant. It basically does alot of the things that they used to serve in the restaurant that were really popular to be collected as takeaway. This place has really gone downhill in terms of quality, quantity and value for money. The kebabs used to be excellent, with good portions and fresh produce. The same cannot be said for the takeaway which gave meager portions of meat and everything just seemed to be inferior in terms of the salad, rice and bread. Fresh bread is now cheap pitta bread and two different types of rice is now bog standard white rice. When paying £10 for a kebab I would expect more than 4 small pieces of meat and the below average rice and salad that came with it and is nothing at all like what you used to get in the restaurant. Regrettably I will not be returning, nearly £50 spent between four people and it was not remotely worth it. Used to love this place but any passion or quality now appears missing.

Went late sunday afternoon with family over from abroad ,have been before but not since it re-opened well wasnt disappointed the food was fabulous has it has always been great portions the drinks were good and staff very nice and friendly we will defo go again

Attended this restaurant the other night. The food was lovely and portion sizes were good (we had a kebab each) however the food was ‘warm’ when it came out and I wouldn’t describe it as hot this was maybe due to the fact that the restaurant was very cold! Overall really nice and good value for money however may not return until summer!

The place is decorated very nicely has a good vibe but put the heating on..I had to sit in my coat..we ordered lamb chops and chicken kebab prawns and roast potatoes.. as you can see from the picture we got a lot of food to share..all of it was absolutely delicious, spicy and flavoursome..issues are the rice was cold and so we're the potatoes..I did tell the young waiter who brought the manager and informed is they were supposed to be only warm. The warm bread was a nice touch. Overall im not disappointed with our food but if it was hot I would if given a 5..

Came to Efes on a whim last minute with a friend for dinner. Staff were friendly and accommodating and sat us straight away without a booking. Pleasantly surprised by the range of food on the menu. We picked chef's special meze, grilled meat tapas and homous. Portions were huge and the food was so delicious, I just wished I could have eaten more! So glad we chanced it, will definitely be going back.

Used to absolutely love it here, it's been closed for refurbishment and has opened again last weekend, what a disappointment! The interior has been opened up, the open kitchen removed, and a bar seating area created. The menu has been extended with quite a lot of additional items, so far so good you might think.Unfortunately the food which used to be fantastic, is a poor shadow of it's former self, we used to usually have the special set meal which consisted of a mixed cold meze and choice of kebabs, and was exceptionally tasty.There is not this option any more so we decided to just have a main course, my wife having a chicken kebab and I a lamb one. They used to come with large tasty pieces of meat, nicely cooked rice, wheat, and grilled pepper , tomato and a nice side salad. As well as a bowl of really fresh tasting bread, all of it presented very well.Tonight the kebabs were a few small pieces of meat, the rice overcooked lump of sticky goo, the bread consisted of 2 or 3 wraps that were soggy and stuck together with one side of the clump browned on a grill, not at all nice. After we had paid I did give the manager (not owner, I assume he was busy at his new takeaway) my feed back, but I feel it fell on deaf ears, we will not return.

As a couple we went out at 8:30pm not knowing what to eat, so we drove down Holderness Road thinking we'd end up with a McDonalds, however, I saw that Efe's Restaurant had a takeaway shop that I hadn't seen before, so we went there. The staff immediately were smiley and friendly making us feel welcome, having never been here before we had to look the menu over a lot before choosing. I went for the Falafel wrap and Mantaar Dolma (stuffed mushrooms) my other half had his usual chicken kebab with chips, we paid £15 cash (no card). Arriving home we eagerly set about devouring our merchandise. and it was so good. The chicken wrap was full to bursting with chicken and chosen salad, the falafel was full of flavour, oh my I really enoyed the crunchy mushrooms even though they had cooled by the time I got home, but that was fine, mushrooms don't hold the heat. We will certainly go back again, Thank you.

Had a fab time.. Food was delicious. The gentlemen working there went above and beyond to make my Granddaughters birthday special.

This is our favourite restaurant in Hull and is the best Turkish restaurant we've been to! They serve generous portions and it is excellent value, without compromising on quality. We recently had the Iskender which came with rice, salad  bread and sauces. It was perfect and delicious. The staff are really friendly and we felt very well looked after. First class food and service! Thank you Efes :)

I love this place. Lately I have been a few times and also recommended it to people who have fed back to me the same experience. The food is delicious and plentiful. I wish they didn't have crinkle chips but that's just a personal preference. The meat is excellent quality and very well cooked. The salads and sides are delicious and they do a lovely dish with aubergine and cheese that they serve as a snack before your meal. I like that this place is roomy - I hate it when I can't have space in a restaurant. The main thing though that separates this place from other establishments who offer similar food is the hospitality. Front of house Tony is the man of the hour. Talk about a character! He's brilliant and goes the extra mile to cater to your tastes no matter how unusual. He makes you feel like family and this is the reason I recommended this place, I really appreciate it when service elevates the experience. If you want quiet, professional, boring and to not be remembered by name, food preferences or face then go somewhere else. If you want a great meal and to make a friend or two go to Efes.

Very impressed with my first visit to this restaurant, fancied a Lamb Shish Kebab but wanted something better than the average kebab shop standard so decided to give Efes a go. I wasn’t sure what the portion size was like and being rather hungry I thought I’d better play it safe so ordered fries too. When I placed the order I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes and this was on a rainy Friday night. I drove a mile to the restaurant and it was ready!! When I got the carrier bag home I realised I could have quite easily done without the fries!! Included with the Shish Kebab was, as mentioned on the website, Rice & Salad, but what isn’t mentioned is that you also get Cous Cous and authentic Turkish Bread! It was an absolute feast for £11.00 and even though I’m full I’m already looking forward to going back and trying out their other items, the Lamb was delicious and tender and it had no fat or chewy bits on it, something that can put me off as I am a bit fussy. Have to give this place top marks, very pleased, thank you :-)

Went for a Birthday Meal on a recommendation, have noticed that it has recently been given a one star poor hygiene rating. Would not have gone if I had known this.

Fantastic food was served to all of us. Very tasty and lots of it too! All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been a few times now, ate in the restaurant and also used the take away service! Always delicious

We’ve visited here a number of times and are big fans of this restaurant. It never disappoints - fantastic service and the food is amazing and plentiful. We had a lovely meal and the free Baklava for mums was a lovely touch! Well worth a visit if you’ve not been before.

Visited for lunch this week we all ordered a different main course, food took a very long time to come even though we were the only ones in the restaurant.Food all tasted the same,some of it was hot and other bits were cold, thought it was expensive for a lunchtime, don’t think a revisit is imminent

We absolutely love this place and visit frequently, the food is second to none, my husband had the lamb chops which he said were amazing and I had a lovely lamb dish, our little girl had a kids lamb and chicken donner, we had some dips and bread to start and a gorgeous salad with our meals too. I really can’t fault this restaurant,the staff are so friendly and it’s really reasonably priced. Give it a try I know you won’t be disappointed!

Just popped in to avoid having to cook! Lovely food, great service, a bit of "banter" and good value for money. What's not to like?

My in-laws have great memories of turkey so what better place than efes Turkish restaurant to celebrate a birthday, now I've been several times before with in-laws because it's what they like and usually we get starter and main and pudding so I and my wife leave over full so this time me and my Emma plus in-laws and new brother and sister in law because me and Emma just got married just so you know ,well we all just got a main meal and plain kebab not blathered in sauce ,I got skewed chicken with pitta roasted peppers and a great salad all very healthy and glad because I got a bit fat after Christmas so a really healthy option but with a side of chips just in case , just remembered we all did share honours and a little bread ,even my new stepson Tom liked that ,the poor waitress was rushed off feet as they only had 2 bookings but people just came in so shows how popular it is on a Sunday night when most on road are empty we even had the restaurant singing happy birthday to my father in law which made him emotional after a few beers and the dreaded raki so definitely be back ,had a great family meal 7 of us 2 rounds of beers several rakis only £135 very reasonable

We come all the time and i can not fault it the food is amazing and the staff are so helpful! Never waiting too long. The bread is out of this world

I have eaten at many restaurants in Hull over the past couple of years; for me, this one is the best, and the only one I have made return visits to. Beautiful food - and plenty of it - great service, and very cheap. What's not to like?

Friendly place. It was cold in there, maybe sat in a draft. Music too loud. Food was fresh and tasty. Like the way you can watch them prepare meal. Meals are big.

Absolutely first class couldn't fault anything, service, food, staff was all brilliant, I would definitely recommend going to this restaurant to anyone. We had a fantastic time, and are looking forward to going back in the future

We went as a party of two couples. We were shown to our table by a polite waitress, and given a suitable time to look at the drinks menu - not kept waiting, but not pushy.

First visit and will be back , real nice food had the efes kebab for two £25, and couldn’t finish it all between us both, it’s well worth a try you will not be disappointed

Just popped in for lunch. Had hot and cold meze. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Chef came out to ask if all was well and explained that he cooks "like his mother did" Delicious food, all freshly prepared, nothing out of packets or tins. Will be going back to try some more.

Been meaning to try Efes for a while and I wasn’t disappointed.. lovely staff, nice atmosphere and amazing food! Try the lamb/chicken sarma it’s a taste sensation..

Have to say was slightly dissspointed to see them reuse the bread we didn’t eat for another table who had just arrived, I now know why some of ours was hard. The fact we had both touched that bread then they had given to others makes me wonder who had touched our bread, left feeling ill from the thought, also forgot to tell us it was cash only so had to run to bank

Called in and ordered a combination kebab (chicken and kofte) - made to feel like a long lost relative. Sat down hands shaken, coffee given - superb customer service. Skewered kebabs cooked to perfection on the charcoal - served with mixed rice, full salad and garlic/tomato bread fingers along with harissa and garlic sauces. Superb I’ll be going back and recommending to all

Great food, friendly service, a real find on Holderness Road, if you enjoy Turkish grill-based food. Couldn't fault the chicken shish at all! No silly black and white shirts in there either - always a bonus...

If you are looking for an upgrade from a 2am polystyrene grease bomb then look no further. It makes the takeaway feel almost guilt free! Large portions are always enough to share between two if you don’t want the large portion.

None of us had been before and what a lovely surprise. Made most welcome on our arrival and given time to read the menu with help from lovely Alex, the waitress, we selected our meals.

Best food and service ever in Hull. Also, staff were smiling all the time and wanted to please the costumer in all ways possible. They resturant is very generous too, they served us complimentary starters and tea. The prices are very affordable regarding the food quality, portions and service you are offered. Highly recommended.

Myself and my husband love this little place, the food is beautiful and really good value, the salads are really good(if you don’t like onion request without as quite a lot in it) we visit here at least once/twice a month, we like to take out friends here as it’s informal and very friendly, service is spot on and efficient, drinks ain’t to bad restaurant prices as you would expect. Dips that come with the bread and salad are yummy, be aware the chilli dip is quite warming lol. Not much left to say please go and try it you won’t regret it.

i had my recent review removed . due to mentioning a certain person recently giving a negative review . seems he complain because i didn't believe him . and it was removed .lets face it most people have been happy visiting here . decent food ,decent service . and this place gets the same rating as maze . go moan again . still dont believe you .lol

Average food, poor service and rude manager, which all ruined the experience. Better quality and value at other Turkish restaurants in Hull (all rated much more highly than this restaurant). Would personally recommend Meze Bar and Grill on Cottingham Road.

Foods were delicious, I tried quite a lot Turkish restaurants as my partner loves Turkish cuisine and I can easily say that this one is one of the bests. Also the prices are very competitive. I highly recommend this place.

We were visiting friends in Hull and they suggested this restaurant. It was a food choice. We had the meze starters to share then I had the mixed kebab. The Efes lager was lovely as well. Staff were great as well.

Delicious starter and mixed kebab for main. Shared a baklava for dessert as we were so full. Bottle of excellent wine a few beers and 2 rakis each. Helpful but unobtrusive staff. £80 bill which was good value considering the amount of food and drink we had. Can't fault the place. We will definitely be back

Starter was ok, halloumi. Bread and sauce really good. Main course mix kebab, really good portion and cooked to perfection. Fantastic taste and full of flavours. Bakalava good portion and really tasty. Prices compared to portion and taste really good value. Staff eager to help and really friendly.

We have visited most months throughout 2017 and intend to continue through 2018! We are greeted as old friends and there is normally “your” table for us.

It’s been open over a year and my wife always wanted to visit this restaurant and I always put it off, there’s not many nice places to visit and eat on holderness road, but we decided to visit last night. And was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was authentic with the music and the smells coming from the take away style kitchen. The food is reasonably priced and was a tough choice of what to order.

Efes is probably one of the more popular restaurants down holderness road as theres always people dinning there. My partners parents love everything about turkey so as the Efes is top of their street its a good place to go for easiness now holderness road is not a place me and missus would go to for a saturday night meal even though we are both from the area but if it means having a bit of time with inlaws then so be it .The staff are great and make you feel welcome especially the inlaws .Now the people at our table seem to think that everything is imported from turkey for authenticity but i doubt it as a meze starter for 2 was only £10 i think they were dips like taramasalata, houmus and other dips with cous cous and bread which are probably from the local cash and carry not flown in by easy jet but for 10 quid im not complaining and mains are things like kebabs of different meats or wraps all at reasonable prices around£13 i even think they gave the mother in law a free pudding the did that last time we was there which is very tactfull as the brother in law orders raki like drinking water. Will definately be back with family as its good honest food and actually quite healthy if you dont get chips as they serve a good salad but for 6 people at £210 i think it was pricey but that wasnt because of food it was the dreaded raki which can easily put 40 50 quid on bill but a great place

Just tried efes takeaway for the first time tonight, we had a chicken doner kebab and it was really lovely. The chicken was plentiful and tasty and came in a foil carton on a bed of rice, we got a lovely salad in a separate container, fresh bread and garlic and chilli sauce in little pots so we could use as much or as little as we wanted. The chips were cooked just right with the obligatory chip spice on, although you can choose not to have it if you don’t want it.

We've been a couple of times now and I can't recommend this place enough. Service is good, with helpful and friendly staff. The food is delicious. We had a wide range of starters and mains with some baklava at the end to top it off. It's all so fresh, tasty and you get more than enough. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Visited with my son and ordered the mixed meats dish so we could try the different flavours unfortunately there was very little flavour.

Usualy eat in. Take out was as well prepared and presented as in the restaurant. Simply the best food i have ever tasted coupled with friendly staff and very keen prices. What more could you want. John and Julie.

First time visit with my Mrs. (10/10/2017). The bread appetisers with the dips was a lovely touch and our main courses were well cooked, tasty and of a good sized portion. Will definitely return.

We tried Efes after a friend recommended it after taking part in the Hull marathon and we wasn’t let down.

Dinner with family with different aged people. Initially service was very good, then as the restaurant got more busy service became a little slower. Staff were trying to accommodate everyone and were friendly and attentive. Including one member giving an impromptu demonstration of some Turkish dancing which made us all smile. The bar severed predominantly Turkish drinks which made some of the group rethink their options and was a little limiting. The food was all good, we had a delay with a couple of the meals but staff apologised and the evening was a success.

We had previously tried the takeaway and loved it so as we had a rare child free night decided to call in on the off chance to try to the restaurant. So pleased we did as service and food excellent. Nice to have some decent eating places opening east side of the river! ❤️

Fantastic food and fantastic service!!

We have been wanted to try this restaurant for a while now so we decided to try as a mid week treat. So glad we did. The service was good but the food was fantastic. Chicken and mince kebab was the best I have tried. Both starters was really tasty, filo spinach parcels and falafel. Altogether 2 course meal with Diet Coke and beer £38 so really good price. Can't wait to go back.

Heard about new place on Holderness Road and booked family meal. Friendly service, great atmosphere and fabulous food for that authentic Mediterranean feel. So enjoyed it that tried the takeaway menu a few weeks later and had another fantastic taste experience. The set meal is a real feast and easily filled up six of us. I enjoyed watching the charcoal grill in action to perfectly ccok lamb chops and chicken kebabs. Nice range of sides with rice, fresh salads and the best chips on road. A great new addition to the dining experience in Hull.

Booked a table for my husband's birthday on Saturday, as he has been wanting to go for a while. Didn't disappoint! Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Will definitely return, to the restaurant and Turkey!

Something of a kebab enthusiast it was recommended to me by a friend. So my wife took me for my birthday and i absolutely loved it..... good portions... tasty... good service..... i got the mixed kebab. Part of the dish wash donner meat the likes of which i have never had before... really tasty full of flavour and generous portions.. my choice of beer was efes..... which was very nice. Firstly, the Meat is fantastic. Lamb Doner and Chicken Doner are superb and delicious!

Visited Monday evening after reading many reviews and was glad we did. Faced with quite a choice on the menu and not knowing what to try our waitress suggested we try the set menu for 2. This consisted of a mixed meze to start and a choice of kebab. The meze was delicious served with plenty or warm fresh bread. The mains were equally delicious and decent portions. We had ordered a portion of chips to accompany the mains, but by the end of the meal wished we hadn't. Our waitress asked if we would like dessert but there was no way we could fit anything else in. Ten minutes later whilst finishing our bottle of wine, our waitress arrived at our table with a small complimentary plate of baklava to try. This was unexpected but delicious and will certainly make sure on our next visit to leave room for dessert. All in all a two course meal plus bottle of wine for £35 with excellent friendly service. We will definitely be back.

Last minute place to to eat as couldn't decide we're to go,glad we came across this place as the service and food was lovely,staff were very friendly and helpful,the chicken kebab and garlic sauce was the best.

We visited aefes for my wife's birthday and was delighted with the whole experience. From arriving to leaving the service was fantastic. From starter to dessert the food was outstanding and to make it even better the Efes beer was ice cold. We will definitely be visiting again, if you haven't yet been it's well worth a try you won't be disappointed. 5***** in every department thanks.

We visited twice in a 4 day visit to the area . The set meal is such good value and the cooking of our kebabs and ribs could not be faulted . The freshness and variety of dips we started with was excellent. A lot of prep must go into those,I'm sure they were all made in -house .And that's rare now unfortunately! I also enjoyed the salad served on a separate plate to the rice and meat of our main .Two friendly waitresses and a very kind owner. Thank you !

Had seen this restaurant crop up on visits to my dad. Decided to try last night and was very impressed.

3 generations visited Efe's tonight, my parents have been before but was my first time. Why have I waited so long??? The atmosphere was pleasant and staff very friendly and helpful. The starter of cold meze was beautiful with bread in constant supply. We opted for the chicken shish and lamb kofte, wow! The taste was amazing and even the bed of rice and salad was perfection. We will definitely become regulars of this place!!

We decided last minute to pop into Efes for a meal and immediately you could sense the authenticity of this charming restaurant . The service was top draw, our meal and starters were perfect I can't recommend the place enough. Well done .

Went for takeaway tea was early picking it up offered a seat in the restaurant then was sent over complimentary Turkish tea lovely friendly staff and the food is delicious

2nd visit even better than the first, and even though 4 months apart the staff remembered us. Cannot effuse enough. VISIT EFES - you won't regret it

Came here tonight for a takeaway tea just to try and will definitely be back in the restaurant. Wasn't too sure what to have, the staff/owner couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions so 3 adults left very happy!

4 of us when tonight it was our first time but not our last. we had the set 1 at £20 x 2. starter was about 6 different mezes with loads of ekmek 4 bottles of efes and the main course was two kofftee kebab and two chicken donners and more salad and more ekmek. and more galic dips and chilly.

Had two take away chicken kebabs and one chips for a family of four. Not bad size portion and reasonable priced! Food was really nice and freshly cooked, will certainly use again and maybe visit the restaurant.

What a treat for our first visit to Efes! Friendly welcome and great service throughout our visit. And the food is just amazing - all freshly cooked, great portions and so tasty. The best kebabs I have ever tasted accompanied by rice and salad. Amazing baklava too if you have room. Well worth a visit; we'll certainly be back.

Second time here and even better than the first. Delicious food. Warm and friendly staff. Will be returning.
