Lovely food. Special with bones was tasty but hard work? Think I heads up might have been appreciated. Veg platter delicious as always. Prefer Leeds branch more chatting. No chat at all from servers or manageress. Very formulaic. Gent in Leeds branch was much chattier and interested. Friends drink cake with ice that had disappeared. Average on this occasion. But have had better occasions in bth hull and Leeds. But bad but nothing special.

Amazing tapas, great atmosphere, food comes in good time not too rushed but also not waiting a long time, the food is always really tasty and well presented. Overall a great experience and we regularly come with friends due to this. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. Amazing place.

Another visit to this lovely dog friendly restaurant. The food is fantastic and so reasonably priced. This visit we decided to try the seafood paella with chorizo. Started with the delicious wheel of tapas and chicharon. The paella looked smelt and tasted gorgeous. Staff so pleasant and accommodating. Highly rate this place with added bonus of being open every day so don't have to work out when to go.

A bit disappointed. Food was mostly fried and heavy, left not feeling great. Not much imagination with the menu, the exact same Aioli dip came with most items we ordered. Service was decent, but a bit slow because understaffed and busy, seems like more staff would benefit. Also disappointed that unable to pay cash in the restaurant. Due to these reasons, wouldn't recommend and probably wouldn't return.

Great food, great atmosphere, in a great location.

We visited the restaurant for a late lunch / birthday meal. A small family , myself ,partner and adult son. We have eaten in Ambiente York and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The Hull restaurant has had missed reviews but we have always enjoyed our visits. For those who don’t know this restaurant has a great spot on Humber Street. Self styled as trendy and vibrant but don’t let that put you off this restaurant and bar-filled street a stone's throw from the marina. We had booked and were a little early but we were greeted and taken to our table by a very attentive waitress. We had the set tapas menu and having had holidays in Spain We found the food was exceptional, both authentic and tasty. We found the food well cooked and presented , importantly it was reasonably priced. Importantly I would recommend the restaurant, give it a chance.

Great service, excellent food with a wide range of dishes and attentive staff make this a fantastic place to come. Highly recommended.

One of our favourite restaurants but, due to a variety of circumstances, we have not visited for a few months. Absence makes the heart grow fonder! On Saturday we visited with friends and we were all really impressed with the quality of the food and the fabulous service. Thank you Holly and Chris!

Really nice place with good food. Out of several dishes we tried between our group there was only one we didn't really like and it was chicken chorizo kebab- it was pretty much burnt and really dry. All other dishes were delicious. Chocolate brownie was my favourite

It's ok, foods nice but potions too small and have to order lots to make a decent meal, price is abit steep for the size of food

I went on a company meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was hot and fresh and I didn't leave anything . The service was first class and the young ladies working were very polite helpful and well presented. This was my first tapas . It will not be my last.

Service was excellent. Food was excellent except for one singular dish, the potatoes and chorizo: the black sauce they came with really was quite unpleasant, and we did not like it. Otherwise the food was really good and I would highly recommend it.

Lovely evening with some business colleagues. Nice buzzy and trendy place, good staff, interesting tapas menu and some excellent dishes delivered. They seem to space out the bookings which I’m sure helps the kitchen.

Stopped in early evening as passing and menu looked good. Didn’t disappoint at all. We ordered 4 dishes each, probably too much on a normal day but as hadn’t eaten since morning it all got eaten. Star of the night was the caramelised chorizo and potato, fantastic! Friendly staff and great service, we were advised the table was booked out a bit later but we weren’t rushed at all. Will we return, most definitely.

We've been here multiple times and each time the food has been absolutely delicious! It's great to be able to choose a number of dishes to suit everyone and to share all of them among the group. A must visit if you are in Hull!

1st time at one of their special themed nights, and what a treat. This night had sherry pairing with every course. A short introduction of what to expect from each sherry prior to tasting. A wonderful evening.

I organised a birthday meal for my partners 30th and 20 guests. We all had an amazing time the food and service was perfect and we have all said we will be coming back

Went for a birthday celebration. We had several tapas dishes, there were no stand outs, most were average at best but the 2 prawn dishes were tasteless to the point we sent one back. The place itself is nice and the service was good unfortunately let down by the quality of the food

Thank you so much to all the staff on 21/10/23 you made my daughter's 16th birthday absolutely memorable. The food was just stunning. You helped with an early delivery of balloons and the cake and on the night every member of staff could not of been more helpful. We really hope you all managed a break and enjoyed some birthday cake. I have a beautiful girl so overwhelmed and had the most wonderful night. The full party commented on the lovely atmosphere and the food. Hope you all enjoy the weekend and thank you so much

Was passing and decided been to the others y not. Bit slow initially but things soon picked up on service. All 7 dishes were good tbh can’t complain will return if ever in this part of the world again.

3/4 empty at 6pm on a Sunday evening but they said they were full. No attempt to ask if we would be long or try to fit us in to their almost empty restaurant. Not impressed at all.

Ambiente has become a must goto place. Their tasting evenings are superb, in fact I hesitate writing about it because there is already quite a following. They have in-depth knowledge of the food and the drinks that they serve, staff is very knowledgeable and the service is great. Only hope that I have is, they will not rest on their laurels and keep up the good work. Also I must congratulate the manager on his knowledge of Spanish food and approachable stance.

The waitress was so unpolite to me, so rude. I'LL NEVER COME HERE. She was the redhair waitress and after that she went to whisper with another waitress looking at me. SO RUDE!!

We were there to celebrate our brother and sister in laws golden wedding . A voucher from the family as a gift. The food was just OK. We ordered 12 tapas to start One of us is a vegatarian so 3 of the tapas were for her. After orders were taken the evening just got worse . After 45 mins and several tapas coming to the table .we enquired if the veg options were on there way . We had 3 different waiters and it was rather confusing as to who was bringing what. We had arrived at 5.30 for our meal and it was not to busy but as the time went on it got extremely busy . We must have asked at least 4 times for her tapas .Also it seems 2 of our had not arrived and we had to ask for them . We were told that the salmon croquettes had to be made and so after 1 hr they arrive 3 rather greasy morsels. Only 1 of which were eaten .At the end of the meal 1 coffee was ordered and after waiting a further 10 mins we reminded them it hadn't arrived.This was because we had to give up the table at 7.30 . I am not sure who brought the coffee we presumed the bar manager .she informed us we had only been waiting 7 mins not 10 very rude. . This was totally not what you would expect from good hosts. I presume from All the problems we had incurred she arrive with 4 glasses of sparkling wine and told us we could have a further 15 mins because of the delays . as an apology for the service we had had . We have eaten in the sister resurant in leeds and the experience was exemplary. Not so in hull . It was constant apologies .Totally ruined the experience and the celebration .

Tapas doesn't work in the UK. Paying premium prices for less food isn't value. And the portions are way down on Spanish tapas

This restaurant is in a great spot on Humber Street, a trendy, vibrant restaurant and bar-filled street a stone's throw from the marina. We hadn't booked and we're lucky to get a table outside on a busy Friday night. Weather was so great, it really did feel like we were in Spain. The food was authentic, tasty and reasonably priced. The Sangria was out of this world (brandy, vermouth and triple sec - wow, I'm stealing that recipe!) and at £18 a pitcher I would say this was very reasonably priced considering it was pretty much all alcohol! A great drinks choice, my husband had one of the sherry flights for dessert which is a brilliant way to try a few drinks. I had a mango Vermut (Vermouth) which was out of this world, that's definitely going on my Xmas list.

Jennifer look after us so well, we asked her to choose our meal and and we were so impressed! Will be back again! Thank you for looking after us!

This was the 2nd time I've visited. Both times, the food was absolutely lovely. They taste the flavours, worth every penny 😋 the staff are helpful and polite. The booths are nice to sit in. We will definitely return again.

My girlfriend and I visited earlier in the year and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a deal on which included 3 tapas dishes for £15 which we thought was great value. The service was spot on, the restaurant was lovely inside and out, and the food was excellent. Will definitely be going again!

Had no reservation and were lucky to get a table. Every plate of tapas we had was incredible, great flavours and good portion sizes. Lovely service too. We had a fantastic evening. Definitely would revisit when next up in Hull.

Had a meal here for my birthday and what a wonderful experience! All of the staff were wonderful but an extra special mention for Neimah (hope that's the right spelling) who was our server and was just lovely! The food was amazing (especially the green bean dish) and I had the most lovely bubbly as a birthday gift. There was a mistake on the bill (overcharge) which we hadn't noticed but someone called us later and refunded us which was great. Overall, a fabulous experience - great food, great service and a great location! Highly recommended!!

We were in a large group , the food was lovely, but probably this type of restaurant is better suited to smaller groups or couples. But I would return, but just as a couple.

From start to finish our experience was amazing. Even when we walked in, every busy staff member acknowledged us and said someone would be with us shortly. We were taken to our table and our drink order was taken and delivered very swiftly and very quickly after our food order was too. The food was absolutely delicious as it always is here and decent portion sizes considering it’s tapas. Our waitress Ella was amazing. She took the time to have a little chat with us about our day, did regular check backs on the food and drinks, was swift clearing plates and with following up with a dessert menu. On top of all that, we had even mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and she brought out a little surprise for the birthday girl. She completely went above and beyond for us.

Went there for lunch very quiet but it was early. Food was excellent the only trouble was choosing from the wonderful menu. Service was great and the young lady was very helpful with the menu.

Delicious tapas and a lot of veggie and vegan options. A few of the dishes weren’t available when we visited (it was a Sunday) but the meal was excellent regardless. Sangria is lovely and reasonably priced too. Highly recommend!

Our very first visit and it’s been amazing 👍👏 A wonderful experience coupled with awesome and tasty tapas 👍👏 However what made it for Kim and I was the five star service from Becky who is a credit not only to herself but to all at Ambiente 👏👏👏 We will visit again when next in Hull and we recommend you try it out especially if you get the ‘Becky’ experience 👍😀👏

Very decent! Generous with that fifth star but the food was great. Try the beef skirt, calamari, potatoes and chorizo (great sauce), artichokes, recommend the HUGE prawns! Overall great quality, well worth a visit to this regenerated part of town. Second visit! Great steak, amazing sauces. Calamari and Gambas lovely, tasty smoked haddock croquettes, really faultless in actual fact. Very filling indeed, and although a moderately pricey meal, it's worth every penny. Top notch.

Had dinner here few years ago before the pandemic, for my fiance's (now husband) birthday, with his whole family. Food was delicious. Staff and their f&b service was amazing.

Haven't even finished my food yet, but I feel like I should share my review with everyone! Yhe place is highly recommended!

Initially good service with drinks and bread and olives but then seemed to just forget about us… waited half an hour or so and then asked what seemed to be the manager if we could order who said, yes two minutes… fifteen minutes later and nothing… paid up at the bar for our drinks and left… very poor service and ruined a nice day.

Good but not grest. The service team was excellent,the Mediterranean salad was wonderul, the drinks were on point, and everything else had faded away. It just didn't stand out as a meal. I will give it another shot, though. I'll be trying other menu items **Update 26-03-2023** Today I went for dinner with three work colleagues and the experience was far better. We selected a whole plethora of dishes from the menu, including a share platter croquettes steak and some vegetarian options. The service was fast efficient and very polite with food that was hot, tasty, and surprising to me, filled me. °The tab for 4 people, including drinks, came to £160.
