We got the Mediterranean veg platter, the Pan Catalán, Brocheta de Pollo y Chorizo Vegano, Patas Bravas and the Empanadas Veganas. The vegan chicken and chorizo skewer was yummy and I would go back just for this! The vegan empanadas were a bit of a let down as they weren’t really empanada shaped and they were filled with dry fake meat. Everything else was ok, the decor was very pretty and the staff were very friendly!

Brilliant! Really nice food. Amber was our waitress for the night - helpful, funny and attentive in fact all the staff were. We had bread and olives to start with then each of us picked 3 dishes each, which was plenty and because it's all cooked fresh some dishes came out sooner than others which was good for us as the table didn't get too full. Amber knew her stuff too. Be aware it is a cashless business Will go again. Comfortable environment feels very relaxed

Hicimos una degustación de jerez y el barman Morgan era muy conocedor y servicial cuando estábamos tratando de decidir cuáles probar y tener buenas recomendaciones sobre qué tener con ellos. Además, todo el personal era muy encantador y acogedor.

Las albindigas venían en una maravillosa salsa llena de aceitunas, tomates y cebollas. Los calamares eran perfectos, no masticables en absoluto y venían con un gran alioli. Nuestro plato favorito, sin embargo, eran las judías verdes... ¿quién sabía que podían ser tan deliciosas? Tuvimos super servicio de Charlotte y Lucas, la cantidad perfecta de atención, sin rondar. No veo la hora de visitarlo de nuevo.

The tapas was great 👍But we were crammed into a booth that had very little room .Olives were awful they had been sat in the bowl probably all night in the kitchen ,they were very dry and tasteless ,just taken out of a jar I presume

Summary - it was pretty quiet when we went on Thursday night but the staff made us feel really welcome and the food was excellent. There is a good vegan selection which was really nice and it's a peanut free restaurant. Yes peanut free. Please go. You wont be disappointed.

Really pleased with the service and food. Ordered 8 plates for 2 people, mostly meat options. One item was going to take longer than expected and the hostess offered to have it removed from the bill, so the service was really very good. Fully recommend visiting.

The staff were welcoming ans friendly as soon as we came in the door and attentive throughout our meal. The food was exceptional! Fresh, delicious and full of flavour. It was great to find so many vegan options and options that weren't just roasted veg (the vegan calamari and the empanadas were delicious). My partner also really rated their charcoal grilled beef which he said was perfectly. Cooked. We had some bad tapas the day before and this was a breath of fresh air. Fantastic food and service 👌

The food here is amazing, everything that was ordered was perfect. I have to say I have been to many tapas restaurants and the food here was great. There was a good atmosphere to the place, staff were really friendly and provided a fantastic service. I really liked the idea of the menu in the table quite a nice touch.

Went with a friend after it was recommended and also after seeing an article on Hull Live. Can't fault the place. Lovely food, friendly attentive staff reasonably priced. Had the Spanish meat platter followed by one of each of seafood tapas. Just gorgeous. Well done.

We (two couples) went for lunch and enjoyed every minute. As there was 4 of us we had quite a selection of Tapas and ordered some extras during the meal as we enjoyed them so much. The Patatas Bravas, though a staple, were superb and deserved a second plate bing ordered, as were the Gambas (battered prawns with a garlic dip). We also tried the chorizo and potatoes that arrived in a thick black fennel based sauce that was like molasses but sweet and reminiscent of Pernod -delicious. We also had the chicken and chorizo skewers with couscous, the salmon croquettes, mushrooms with manchego crust (we ordered more), Calabaza con Queso Azul (butternut squash), beef short rib (Costello con Oloroso) and meatballs in tomato and olive sauce (Albondigas con tomate )were all fantastic. The Pancetta de Cerdo con Chipotle was liked by most of us but the Mejiliones (mussels) were lightly flavoured so should have been eaten first as the other stronger meals overpowered them - we’ll know for next time. I had the Estrella beer but the ladies had a Sherry and lemonade pitcher with mint and lime (Rebujito) which was very summery and easy to drink. The staff were great - it helped that we were there alone though tables were prepared for other guests. All-in-all a great meal, very recommended.

Amazing quality tasty food and great service from all the staff except the host who greeted and seated us, he was not very friendly and looked miserable! Overall, there could be improvement on customer engagement!! Did not feel very welcome! Mediocre service!

We ordered the seafood paella for lunch & it was very tasty . The service was also very good. All in all a very good visit. We would recommend this restaurant.

Siempre nos encantan nuestras visitas al ambiente ya que la comida es muy interesante. Vinimos en pareja el sábado para una pequeña celebración y creo que fue el mejor momento de la historia. Primero nos recibió un encantador miembro del personal que nos mostró a nuestra mesa y luego Charlotte era nuestra camarera para la noche y ella era tan encantadora. Explicó toda la comida que necesitábamos saber y bebidas. Muy atento pero no en tu cara. Pedimos 6 platos y cada uno era perfecto. A mi marido le encanta el vuelo de Jerez y probé el limoncello con cava, delicioso, seguido de la mejor sangría (más bonita que en España). No pudimos resistir el especial de pavlova con bayas locales, así que solo tenía espacio para compartir y era tan ligero y lleno de sabor. Ya planeamos nuestra próxima visita... uno, si no los mejores restaurantes del casco.

Yo y un colega estamos en Hull por trabajo durante una semana y nos sorprendió la falta de restaurantes abiertos un lunes. - terminamos en Ambiente como estaba abierto. Fue una sorpresa absoluta encontrar la comida (y particularmente la bebida era mucho mejor de lo que habíamos anticipado. El barman jefe, Morgan, era tan conocedor del jerez y el vino - pero también su conversación y hospitalidad general estaba mucho más allá de lo que ambos hubiéramos esperado de un (pequeño) restaurante de cadena. Él es un crédito a los propietarios. La concha en gambas, feta al horno y avellana y croquetas fueron un gran sí de mi parte!

No estaba seguro de si entrar o no, pasé otra noche y no me atrajo desde fuera, pero después de pasar dos semanas en Hull, me había quedado sin lugares que quería probar, así que entré. Me alegro de haberlo hecho, es un buen lugar y la comida es preciosa, el calamar era suave y tierno y el cordero especial, que no elegí primero, se fue a un placer, tierno y mmmmmm. Me encontré aquí la noche siguiente y había asado mejillones, Gambia y una ensalada con alcachofa, todo de tan buena calidad como la comida de la noche anterior. El equipo de servicio fue muy servicial, educado y discreto, vale la pena visitarlo, no creo que te decepcione.

Esta, nuestra segunda vez de visitar este increíble lugar de tapas. La primera visita fue hace unos 18 meses, así que me alegro de ver que solo ha mejorado con la edad! Pedimos toda una balsa de tapas del menú y nunca pareció terminar! Incluso con 4 de nosotros estábamos bien alimentados con 12 opciones - además de una porción extra de pan para empapar los deliciosos jugos 💕 Nuestra camarera era muy burbujeante y muy bien informado sobre las bebidas también, ya que ella era claramente conocedor de los vinos disponibles - su recomendación sobre el vino tinto fue golpeado - gracias. ¡Rematado con una Pavlova especial - deliciosa, enorme - por la que morir! Ubicado en un interior grande pero bien equipado de temática industrial, este lugar está bien equipado, donde sea necesario - cabinas íntimas o áreas de mesa más grandes están disponibles y fácilmente accesibles. No puedo esperar para volver de nuevo - pronto.

Stumbled on this gem of a restaurant while exploring Hull marina. Neither of us eat meat / fish and tapas is usually not that great a choice but...wrong... great selection of veggie options and we had 7 plates between us which was more than enough. Friendly staff, nice choice of beers and well set out. Recommended.

overall the experience was one that was satisfactory, however some areas could have a little improvement we sat down and was explained the process of ordering and quickly we had a drinks order created and brought to us , the flora de rosa was a brilliant cocktail and well mixed , i can say the same for the sangria the food we ordered which was the breads and patatas bravas , one without the tomato sauce which they very accommodating with , we’re ourstanding, however the breads instead of the vinegar and oil would’ve suited a specialty butter much more the paella , , we chose the chicken and chorizo , which in hindsight was the wrong choice, the chorizo was cut far to large for a paella and the chicken used was thigh which we felt was a cheap alternative that didn’t reflect the price of meal finally onto deserts , the crème brulle reflected its price very well , and had we not been so full , would’ve enjoyed it even more , the special pavlova was without fault however the strawberries could’ve been fresher as well as a larger variety of fruit over all i’d go back again but order different things such as the paella , but as a whole we rate this restaurant highly as well as the ambient atmosphere it gives off

The service is excellent, staff makes you feel very welcome. Food is very nice, well cooked, good portions considering they are tapas, and the price is good, and unlike other restaurants where they have double the prices, Ambiente has remained unchanged and still reasonable. We keep going there!

What a fantastic night at Ambiente, Hull. It's the second time we've visited and it was as good if not better than our last visit. If I could give more than 5* I would. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and the service was brilliant, thank you 😁

Aug 2024 - we've been here a few times, just ourselves and with friends, it's always a great time. As of right now the menu has been updated, so we decided to pay Ambiente Tapas another visit 😁 I'll start with the "not so great" beef short rib, it was way subpar, and I usually love short rib. Nearly all of it was fat, and the bit of meat I found, it was pretty dry and not a great flavour. With that bit of negativity, everything else was great, really tasty and we left with very (very!) full stomachs 😁 The prawns and calamari are always great ♥️🤤 The chicken skewer was the star of the show, an excellent marinade, and cooked well, the flavour was spot on. If you've not been before and you can force yourself to share food (🤣) then I'm sure you'll love it... You can also order an extra portion of prawns, as a dessert, while others are eating their desserts ♥️👍🙀😁

Years since I ate Tapas, I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed every second of the evening. A very warm welcome from staff, accommodating, friendly and hard working. They could not have done any more to make our experience fabulous! I dined with a friend, staff recommended we had approximately three dishes per person to then share. We had bread then 5 dishes total and we both enjoyed every single dish thoroughly. All of our plates were empty and we were full but just enough room for desserts, which were to die for! Great atmosphere, amazing chefs and restaurant staff. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful place to do lunch or dinner with family and friends. To take a break from your working day. The people that service you are very very kind all the time searching if everything is okay. Very close to the Spanish taste some quite different but very raw to the originals recipes.

Lovely restaurant setting, especially the booths which are very nice to sit at. We came here previously twice and had a lovely mix of dishes which were all delicious. Sadly on this latest occasion, we all ordered steak as it was so nice last time. I couldn’t even eat it . It was so overseasoned and over cooked. I didn’t complain, but I did mention it to the waitress and apologised that I just couldn’t eat it as it was so over seasoned. None of our party enjoyed it. They offered to cook it longer - but it was already over done & tough as it had been cooked for so long . It’s a shame but it’s put us off a return visit sadly. On a positive , the calamari was cooked to perfection - and tasted amazing.

The food tastes really good and it has a very good texture it could be better if it was served quicker but the food is really delicious.

Both mine and my cousin's favourite place to have a catch up. We were shown to our table on arrival and bread and olives ordered, we perused the menu and ordered our wine! So followed this with our order for food which included pork, steak, prawns and potatoes. We even managed to finish off the meal with a cocktail. Great service, friendly staff and excellent food and drinks. Love this place.

Saturday lunch Spanish dishes How comfortable the environment is The waiters are so smiling and kind, and they often come over to greet and clean up. The baked mushroom sauce is special, so fragrant and delicious. The mussels are plump and the sauce has just the right flavor. The steak is marinated in sauce and has a nice flavor, but it's a little salty. The pork tenderloin was overcooked and the next side dish was even better. I ordered a piece of bread for mushrooms and mussel juice, but it didn't go well with it, because the bread itself has a fragrance and the texture doesn't absorb the juice, but the bread is actually quite delicious when eaten alone. The Spanish rice is very fragrant and delicious, and the seafood is so fresh. However, the mussels and shrimps are too cooked. It would be better if more salt and juice were added and the baking time was shortened for two minutes. The baked Cod was very fragrant, smooth and tasty in some places, but the outside was overcooked. It was delicious when I first started eating it, but the butter smell was too strong and I didn’t want to eat too much. Please note that this menu does not include VAT, and a 10% service charge is required! There are free parking spaces on the back street!

Oh my goodness - what a gem! We've been to Ambiente for tapas several times and enjoyed each visit, but they're knocking the ball out of the park with their new venture into Spanish brunch. We've queued at other locations in and around Humber Street, and have enjoyed food but this is now going to be our brunch restaurant of choice. No queue, no crowding of tables, delicious food and such good value! We had Spanish runny scotch eggs with sour dough solders, huevos rancheros and huevos rostas - all delicious. We finished off with the churros and chocolate sauce - devine!

Had a great evening at Ambiente Tapas. All the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. We had 12 tapas between 4 of us and there was plenty of food. Everything was delicious and atca good price.

First time visit. Great food, ambience and staff. The restaurant was visited by seven of us and the experience was good for all of us including one who has a gluten intolerance. Cannot recommend too highly. Becky and the team do a great job.

We had a delicious and authentic spread of tapas dishes. The vegan options were better than the meat! We had 5 dishes plus a starter and couldn't quite finish, it was filling. The staff were nice and friendly, food was good, very pleased.

Good ambiance , great service and friendly staff. Food was amazing both veg and non veg options, however it would have been even better if portion size was slightly generous.

I wasn't sure what to expect at my first visit but it was fantastic from the cleanliness the friendliness and the fantastic tasting food. I will be back and have told several friends to try it. A couple have and agreed with me that it was great. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed. Well done to the staff.

My girlfriend and I visited earlier in the year and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a deal on which included 3 tapas dishes for £15 which we thought was great value. The service was spot on, the restaurant was lovely inside and out, and the food was excellent. Will definitely be going again!

Food was fantastic - service was just ok but as it was pretty busy I can excuse that. But be aware of the 10 percent service charge they add on to your bill without even telling you - between two of us we had already spent over 100 pounds so to automatically add that on is a bit Rich. Also, be aware that they do not accept cash. Big no no for me this and unfortunately is the reason I wont be visiting again. Shame as the food is spot on!

Nice place for a drink and what was standout for me was the really helpful young woman on the bar who when she spotted I was using a crutch showed me to the accessible loo. I was happy to climb the stairs as I am able to but she immediately directed me to the alternative. Outstanding service.

Lovely Tapas, reasonable size/prices. Staff attentive but not in your face. Busy saturday afternoon crowd theybwere still able to find us a table and managed to squeeze my daughter in when I had accidentally booked for 2 rather than 3. Always a lovely experience.

If I could give more stars I would, the food here is absolutely magical. Brought back nostalgia of a Spanish BBQ food I had on the Costa brava and dorada as a teenager. Server's can't do enough for you. I cannot recommend enough. I was sceptical until my fiancée talked me into going a few weeks back, I took us back for lunch today. Absolutely brilliant! 10 out of 5 stars!

Always a pleasure to visit! Staff are super attentive and polite, food was delicious. Shared a chicken and prawn paella (usually chicken and chorizo, removed due to allergies) - only item we were disappointed with was the Chicharrón, rather than being “tossed” in pimento, we felt the pieces had been completely coated and unfortunately no one enjoyed these (staff removed from bill with no issues). House white wine and sangria with red were lovely! Overall really pleased - would absolutely return over and over again, thank you

Lovely food. Special with bones was tasty but hard work? Think I heads up might have been appreciated. Veg platter delicious as always. Prefer Leeds branch more chatting. No chat at all from servers or manageress. Very formulaic. Gent in Leeds branch was much chattier and interested. Friends drink cake with ice that had disappeared. Average on this occasion. But have had better occasions in bth hull and Leeds. But bad but nothing special.

Dined here Tuesday 5th March at around 6pm. Me and my partner got seated and everything was fine. For a table of 2 there are 2 plates, one on top of each other, in the middle of the table. We both had noticed a horrific smell but didn't think much of it. I then went to hand my partner a plate and the bottom plate was drenched with a creamy liquid and had something which can only be described as mouldy fish on it. This just makes me worry about the hygiene standards. Wouldn't really class this as "fine-dining" as stated by other reviews.

Really impressed with this restaurant on a trip to Hull. Attentive, friendly service. Enjoyed a flight of 3 sherries, great to see sherry celebrated. Food was superb. After fabulous olives, we had two of the monthly specials, a warm salad of artichokes, corn and freekeh and a succulent roasted cod's head. We also had the goats cheese and the aubergine fritters, both light and very tasty. Would recommend
