I visited the restaurant this afternoon with my son as it was his 30th birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision, we did not have a booking. We were made to feel really welcome (even though I was still dressed in sweaty gym kit) and the young man serving could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble.. (he’s a credit to your business) All the food we ordered was absolutely delicious and at the end of the meal the staff and the chef (I think he’s the owner) brought my son a cake (Baklava) with a candle in it and all sang “happy birthday”They made a miserable rainy Monday into a truly special memorable day... would not hesitate to go back again.

First visit to the new venue for our first family meal since Christmas & it was a mix of good & bad.The positives, the new venue is beautiful, light & airy.The food was all delicious & portions very generous.Unfortunately there were several issues, firstly the covid qr scan didn't work, when mentioned to staff, the response was we know we need to change it! At no point were we asked for our contact details.We were quickly seated having booked for 6.15 & a drinks order taken, which all arrived promptly.25mins later we had to ask for our food order to be taken, to be told someone will be with us in 20mins as other tables before us. However 5mins later order was taken & food arrived in good time.At 7.40 we were rudely told that we would need to leave the table in 20mins as other people were waiting, we hadn't even been offered dessert or coffee, which we were waiting to order.An order was taken & another delay before desserts arrived.If you want to put a time limit on a table, advertise it on your website, 2hrs minimum is needed for 3 course meal & train your staff to work smarter. Most importantly, don't be rude.Hopefully just teething troubles in new busier venue, but service was unacceptable.

Excellent as always,spent a fortune at this place during lockdown with the takeaway service,food and service brilliant,new venue is stunning,what i also liked is covid is not rammed in your face like some places! Good luck with the new venture!

First time dining at the new restaurant and wasn't disappointed. The same beautiful food, excellent staff and atmosphere. Well done everyone and good luck for the future. The success of this place is no fluke. We will be back. Yia Mas!!

Went to Aegean on Wednesday (now on newland Avenue) fantastic food and service as always. Now its near us we are certainly going back

Don’t usually do reviews but felt I had to after this absolutely gorgeous meal. First time I had ordered from here and Was restaurant quality, cooked perfectly, generous portions and so delicious!. Throughout the whole of lockdown I’ve been ordering from new places and this is easily the best of the year, just wish I’d discovered it earlier!!

We have eaten in this restaurant before and tonight we decided to have a takeaway and we were not disappointed.We collected our order as currently there are no delivery slots in our area, we started with the spinach and feta parcels, saganaki and tsatziki and followed with the styfado and kleftiko, both with chips. The food was very fresh, hot and plentiful, it really was restaurant quality food at home and made us long for our Greek holidays that we have missed so much throughout the pandemic, we will definitely order again and recommend to family and friends.

Wow, wow and wow again. We’ve just had a takeaway from The Aegean and it was one of the nicest meals me and my partner have had. We ordered the mixed souvlaki, the meat platter, hummus with garlic pitta breads and it was absolutely delicious. So fresh and tasty!! It was still hot when it came and it was not greasy at all. I can’t wait until we can have the full experience of eating inside the restaurant. I would 100% recommend the Aegean, it was delicious!!!

Ordered a takeaway last weekend for a family members birthday as we would usually visit the restaurant. Food was delicious and very hot. Cannot fault and would definitely recommend to others! Can’t wait to order from again.

We just had the Aegean burgers and they are absolutely beautiful, worth every penny and definitely be having again during lock down, cant wait to visit for sit down meal x Kenny, Teresa ,Wesley 😀

We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food has always been fabulous. Last nights takeaway for my birthday was no different. We ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and Mixed Souvlaki and it was amazing. My son who never fancied coming to the restaurant with us was blown away by it so when it reopens, they will gain another customer. Keep going Aegean, can't wait to come back soon.

We have been to the Aegean numerous times before this lunacy descended on us all and they started offering a take away service, Which we have used a few times as well, with our first trip of the new year we went for some things different and it's great to see the food and service is as good as ever, kleftico was amazing, spinach parcels amazing, souvlaki amazing, everything was excellent, thanks to all the staff, keep it up till we can come back inside.A+++++

Ordered during 3rd lockdown and my god was it worth the money, the food was simply amazing and the staff on the phone were brilliant, they when rang to say the food was going to be ten minutes late but that they would give us both free soft drinks for the lateness, what a breath of fresh air these people are, well done and keep up the amazing work.

Me and my missus got the mixed sharing platter...I must say it was lovely food every bit off it was 👌.... can’t wait to try the place when it’s open properly 😊

WOW!What a great little restaurant.We called to book a table and arrived on time to be promptly seated by a super friendly gentleman. He served us throughout our visit and he was so helpful and polite.We decided to go for the meat platter to share. It was super tasty and very filling.The atmosphere was nice with a good ambiance.We left super satisfied and will certainly return in the near future.

What a fabulous place - we were transported back to rural Greece with typical taverna decor and Hellenic roofscape views to add to the Mediterranean atmosphere.We recommend unreservedly the mezze at £24.95 a head - bags of food and a good selection all freshly prepared and brought to the table in a conveyor belt that bordered on alarming towards the end.6 dips with olives and pittas, followed by dolmades and meatballs. Next came grilled saganaki with pork loin and spicy sausage, garlic mushrooms and courgette fritters.Then it was garlic king prawns, a mountain of deep fried squid, and mussels in tomato sauce. Finally we were presented with lamb chops, pork and chicken souvlaki, lamb kebab, Greek salad, chips and rice.By the time the meat arrived we were all beginning to wish we had taken the advice of the waiter to go easy on the dips to save space for later in the meal. Good advice that will be heeded next time!Service was spot on - attentive but unassuming- and all the staff from the maitre ‘d to the servers were friendly and courteous.This was possibly the best eating out experience we have had in 11 years and excellent value for money.Cannot recommend this wonderfully casual restaurant more highly - deserves 7 stars!

I’ve often thought of going to the Aegean and so glad I finally did. Lovely night out. Meal and service both great. All COVID regulations observed.

Our first night out since March was made perfect by brilliant food, fantastic atmosphere, attentive servers and great wine. Throughly enjoyable night.

We visited this wonderful restaurant for our friends birthday. Unfortunately due to the current situation effecting deliveries we were unable to have the meze as planned but enjoyed fabulous food with excellent service. Although there was only a few people in the waiter managed to create a good atmosphere chatting with the customers. I believe they had been expecting more tables from their bookings but these failed to show up.Small businesses are already struggling if you book a table and are unable to go please advise the restaurant. We chose a selection of starters : Cypriot sausage, meatballs, taramasalata, grilled cheese and baked feta all delicious. The boys had the meat platter, enormous but great. My friend chose Kleftico whilst I had Calamari. So much beautiful food but we managed most of it. The waiter bought our friend a rum baba with a candle and we all sang happy birthday. They did the same for the lady on the other table. Lovely touch. To finish we had the best expresso martinis. Fabulous night looking forward to next visit. Thanks again for a great evening.

Never been before but heard so many good things about the place so decided to pay it a visit. Staff were very welcoming and we were seating in a lovely area. Paper menu but Corvid19 still around. Food was not only of a high standard but the measures you get are enough to feed an Hippo. Not cheap and not expensive, just average prices. Highly recommended from me

Discovered this hidden gem last month and we've been back for our 2nd visit this month. prime example of not judging something by its cover, what you see from the outside is far different once you walk through the doors. Both the food and service are without fault. Will definitely become regulars here. Please excuse my sub par photography. Doesn't do the dishes any justice!

Visited with my family last month. No meze, no mixed grill. This is not the first time this has happened to me here. Staff not great clearing the table while we was still eating

First experience here, and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. It’s light, bright and sunny, just like being in a taverna in Greece or one of the Greek islands and I’ve been many times. The authentic Greek music and the welcome is fabulous. Food was delicious and the service was amazing. Thank you for a beautiful night. Might have to book again very soon as our holiday to Corfu has been cancelled and we need a fix.

Four of us visited for the second time on Friday 04/09. What a lovely place this is. Difficult times with Covid but felt very safe with tables spaced appropriately and sanitisers dotted around the restaurant. The food was delicious and great value for money at £120 all in with several rounds of drinks. Really can’t fault this place and would highly recommend.

We visited for a date night after hearing really good reviews - we were not disappointed! Such a lovely place with fantastic staff and mouthwatering food, will 100% be visiting again!

I visited here after hearing many great reviews from Friends/Family.The Food was delicious and really tasty.We got the Meat Platter to share and it was very filling and the meat cooked perfectly. The Staff were very friendly and attentive and recommended some great food and drinks options to us.The prices are very reasonable too.I would highly recommend this Restaurant. It's ideal for a Couples Night or a Night out with Friends/Family.I will be going again very soon.

Visited The Aegean as our first #eatouttohelpout as we have always had the most enjoyable time here. Didn't disappoint. We were an early booking 4.30pm so it was very quiet when we arrived, lovely Greek background music. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely beautiful, no cutbacks because there was 50% discount. We were so full we got offered a takeaway box for what we couldn't eat. The social distancing and other Covid rules were adhered to strictly. As more people arrived, the music was turned up slightly and the atmosphere was lovely. Very enjoyable couple of hours - 4 generations of us. Will certainly be back

We arrived at 6pm this afternoon and we're seated straight away. It was the first time we'd eaten here and we were delighted at the ambience, service and homemade dishes. The portions were generous and the food very tasty as you can see by the pics. If we live closer we'd be regulars.If you haven't been here before I'd highly recommend it but you need to book first as it's very popular!

After hearing only good thing about this restaurant, I thought I'd give it a go "mid covid pandemic" Well I was not disappointed, the service was spot-on and friendly and the food was top notch with generous portions.Would definitely recommend and will be going again!

Visited on Saturday at 6pm and it was fairly busy, it took a while to take our order but not sure if that was because we arrived early and they were busy. Food was very nice and cocktails were great. Will be back to try some of the other dishes as everything they brought out looked very nice.

Corridor to the toilets still a mess been like it ages and needs sorting and toilets havnt changed!!

Just had this beautiful meal from the Aegean! Everything was fresh and hot! Couldn’t fault one thing, even the chips were seasoned to perfection! Highly recommend this place!

Used this restaurant for years but just had takeaway in lockdown and it was beautiful 5* even had a bottle of mythos great treat and great value to 😘😘😘

Went there with my friend for a girls night out. The food was lovely and the service as well. We had a great time and we will return very soon. The only thing I didn’t particularly like is that they didn’t have many vegetarian options, luckily that didn’t spoil my night.

We visited this restaurant this evening, we ordered five starters between four of us, plus, followed by four main courses. Far too much food, but of excellent qualify. Lovely staff in a busy establishment with a great atmosphere.

Visited the Aegean for my wife's birthday. We were greeted as we went through the door & shown to our table. The waiter took the time to explain what dishes that were available. The food arrived promptly & was very good. I have already recommended the restaurant to a number of my friends.

You can only judge on what you experience. Nothing was bad but nothing was great. The mixed meat meze was ok but all the meat was a bit dry and a bit overcooked. The chips were good and the prices are decent for what you get. The staff were a bit reserved but gave good service. I think this is more suited to groups who want fun as quite loud for a family of 4. Sorry but average today.

Visited this restaurant with a party ten restaurant was full shown to our table and then left for about twenty minutes the waiter then came and said sorry we’re busy and left came back after five minutes took our drinks order asked for our food orders . My wife order the kleftico when it came very disappointed poor example of a classic Greek dish the res of the party’s wasn’t much better meybe picked the wrong night sorry not impressed

Visited again and so glad we booked as we would never have got in otherwise. Great choice of food which, when it arrived, was flavoursome and filling. Washed down with a few Mythos beers and great value for money.

Managed to book a table for a Saturday night and was so pleased we did book. The place was very busy with people waiting for tables to become free. But it’s totally understandable. The cocktail menu did not disappoint as I love a tequila sunrise! I had two and was then too squiffy to try the ouzotini but I’ll make a point to next time! The menu was very easy to read and made my mouth water. We were tempted by the Meze (starters followed by fish dishes and then followed by meat dishes) however neither of us are keen on fish - so we were then offered the mini Meze which is the same as above but without the fish! The food was to die for and plenty of it! Lots of dips and bread and the beans were delicious! I’m not a great meat eater but the lamb was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone and everyone

Visited on Saturday evening. Restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. Food was very very good and fresh. Generous portion sizes and swift service. It did not disappoint and I can why it is the number 1 ranked restaurant in Hull. Definitely worth a visit!!

Fantastic night last night with friends large group of 12 very well looked after made to feel very welcome. Amazing food my starter of Spinach pie with feta was excellent, the grilled options along with the amount of food served was amazing. Highly recommend to anyone.

We have visited The Aegean on a number of occasion's and it never fails to impress. With excellent Greek food that is perfectly cooked, good professional staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere it has all the ingredients for the perfect night...

Had a lovely evening with food and drink aswell as good company. However, not a great vegatarian main meals, but lots of beautiful meze, so all good.

First time visiting this restaurant, and I have to say it was fantastic. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. It was recommended to me and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Especially if you can never decide what you want to eat off of a menu. The meze is amazingly good value, and it certainly was filling. I didn't even have room for a pudding!! Will definitely be back again.

An utterly brilliant and unique dining experience!!

My partner took me to the Aegean last night to start my birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed. The service from start from finish was fab and friendly. We were shown to our table quickly and our drinks orders were taken. We shared a starter of hummus with gorgeous pitta bread! For mains I had the moussaka and my partner had calamari. We shared a Greek salad and side order of chips. The food was AMAZING, really fresh and tasty!! The meal sizes are very generous, the only downside being that we were so full we couldn't manage a dessert. We will definitely be returning. x

Yet again absolutely beautiful food with such a friendly relaxed atmosphere. You instantly feel welcome and the food is unreal. Garlic prawns absolutely delicious and the mousakka is unreal.

Went here over the weekend and cannot does highly enough of it. Went with a group of 6 and we were all delighted with our food, exquisite taste, great portion sizes and for a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and very accommodating to my mother and daughter who can be very picky. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants good quality Greek food!!! Will be back again very soon

By far the best restaurant in Hull. Family friendly. There are new Greek restaurants in Hull that are nice but the original is still the greatest.

Just been to the agean and once again you never disappoint , this restaurant must surely be the best in hull, if you are looking for fine cuisine excellent service and fantastic surroundings then look no further, I guarantee you will not be disappointed we never are, you must try this restaurant and experience their unique hospitality

I've ate out here numerous of times with my partner and with friends would recommend to anyone looking for authenic fresh greek food. The lamb dish and seafood dishses are spot on, amazing aswell as your houmous and fresh bread. Lovely atmosphere as soon as you arrive. The staff are friendly and give you a warm welcome, its nice to see the staff are Greek too and makes you feel like you are in Greece on holiday, best service you could possibly ask for by the staff. I had to pre book twice for a table especially on a weekend as they do get fully booked, not expensive at all so reasonably priced, clean restaurant, clean open bar, greek decor all around. Top restaurant, will be visiting again soon.

We went not so long back with friends and family... we was welcomed with a great atmosphere & 2 live musicians playing greek music , the food was fresh and colourful & the wine was great , the evening experience was so good we was there for 3 hours ! .... the full restaurant was tapping their feet to the music & every culture of people was having a fantastic time ... a must on a weekend .

Took my family from out of the city here and we all thorough enjoyed ourselves. Lovely staff, Fast service and the meat was some of the best I've had in years.

Excellent service, excellent food. Staff are welcoming and interactive if you want them to be, traditional Greek...... the oysters are to die for! Visited as a family of 12 no one poor meal and we all ate together.

Ate here with friends, one of which is a very selective eater - staff couldn’t be more helpful, explained the menu, offered suggestions and were helpful and friendly! The food WAS INCREDIBLE! We couldn’t finish it all, as we certainly over ordered after wanting to sample everything on the menu, but heck it was delicious We ate on a weekday evening and by the time we left it was full - will certainly book next time to make sure we don’t miss out! I can’t believe it took me so long to try here.

We, the family, went recently as we were Celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary we wouldn't go anywhere else well why would we? The decor just makes you want to go to Greece/Cyprus, the food is soooo delicious and well presented, the staff are so friendly and attentive even Simon the owner/Chef came to our table to congratulate us. Thank you all at Aegean we'll be back soon.

Do not listen to the horrible review left by a disgruntled Hull Fair goer. After reading the article in Hull Daily Mail I couldn't bring myself to let one person tear down a business like that. It is so important that people write honest reviews as it really does affect a business.

I have taken my family there a couple of times, food was always lovely and the tzatziki was delicious. The atmosphere and decoration was like been in a little taverna in Greece.

Visited with my Husband back in April for our anniversary, the staff are very welcoming, we had a slight wait for food as they had 2 big parties in but we didn’t mind as we hadn’t booked, we were served drinks in the mean time. The food was amazing, the portions are so generous it’s impossible to clear a plate. Atmosphere is really good too. I can highly recommend this place.

This restaurant is beautiful! It’s often very busy hence its position at the top on trip advisor. I’m a vegetarian and lots of choice for me and great for my family who eat meat. A friend of mine worked here for a while and told me it’s the cleanest restaurant she had ever worked in. Staff friendly and prices reasonable for the quality.

We have been to this restaurant on three occasions now. It is so good. Beautifully clean, the owner is so friendly and polite, the staff are great. The food is excellent and good value. I cannot recommend highly enough. I am a regular tripadvisor reviewer as you can see by my status. It is heartbreaking that TripAdvisor have allowed a false review by a one time poster who was disgruntled they were not allowed to park in this restaurants car park whilst they visited elsewhere. That post is untrue.

Myself and my partner visited 7/10 for my birthday and had a lovely time. The food was amazing as was the house red wine. All staff really welcoming and setting is really authentic. We will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone.

Myself and my partner go to this restaurant at least once a month. It is always packed out but the standard of service is top notch and the food is of the highest quality. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is clean and decorated in a stylish and modern Greek style. It’s just great.

Ignore ridiculous bad reviews from disgruntled customers. I eat here pretty much EVERY WEEK and have done for the last 2 years+. The staff are the most friendly, amazing people with fantastic customer service. The food is consistently excellent. It’s sad that some people try to give a place a bad reputation for problems completely unrelated to the restaurant itself. We should be happy that little gems like the Aegean are thriving in the area, not trying to close down businesses with untrue and harmful comments. I would and frequently do recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Long live the Aegean!

We tempt to come in here with my partners family a lot and it is truly one of the best food places to eat at. Not once have I been disappointed. Once we've had a little issue with a booking but it's been resolved there and then and they made sure we had a big table for everyone to east at.
