what can i say the food was fantastic and staff was so helpful would really recommend this restaurant for family's , couples or even party's will be going back very soon

My third trip to the restaurant. The room is welcoming, the staff attentive and friendly and the menu packed with delicious typical Greek dishes. Starters, main and dessert dishes are well judged and with a fresh, home cooked taste. Really a pleasure and without a doubt we will be back again. The best restaurant in Hull? I wouldn’t bet against it.

2nd time at Aegean ,we had the meze set menu food really tasty and fresh , there was so much food , service was fantastic thank you to niko and the good looking one in the kitchen. Booked again for the Greek night in December

Food was rubbish to put it blank, the restaurant stinks of smoke as the servers and owners smoke in the restaurant, the balcony and in the kitchen. Chefs go outside for smoke come inside and don't wash there hands, they charge ridiculous amount for small portion of food.

Booked up a table for 2 over the phone Asked for a table for 2 on the terrace to be told yes if we have a table when you arrive . (so no booking a table of your choice ) Arrives to 2 empty not booked table asked if we could sit there told No ! They are only for 4 people. So it all went down hill from there. We were told where we could sit no choice, remember at this point they were near empty only 3 other tables were taken . And only 3 other walk ins came in while we were there . Waiter came with wine and asked us what wanted to order . All ok We asked for a full main size muscles dish that we were going to share between us for a starter . When it arrived it was a very small portion ( rather a starter than a dinner portion) although tasty just a very small amount. For main I ordered pastitsio Again a very small portion for £15.50 it was was mainly spaghetti hardly any beef mince no taste with think gloopy cheese sauce that was over cooked and hard on top . My friend ordered the meat mixed souvlakia dish . The meat was all over cooked Half way through the dinner I had to turn round and ask the waiters to stop shouting and swearing. Although speaking in Greek I was in a Greek restaurant some people speak Greek ! Me ! No apologies were forthcoming No offer of desert I will not be returning Very poor quality very small portions and over priced. There are a lot of restaurants in this area that are good with a lot of competition. Maybe the cost saving are a step to far in this one . But this does no excuse the foul language! The photos of there food on there socials do not resemble the potion sizes that you receive that’s for sure .

Delicious food, good portion sizes, friendly staff. Sat on a pavement side seat under the sun awning, it made the experience even better. Will definitely be visiting again.

We even had the sunshine and the doors onto the street open which added to the atmosphere. We were treating our grandson to a post GCSE meal before he moves to Singapore. Two of us had starters and mine was the best tzatziki and pitta bread I’ve ever had. My grandson had smoked pork loin. For mains I had garlic scampi which came with pitta bread so I ordered chips too, I’d have preferred to have had the choice between chips, rice or bread as I’d already had bread with my starter. My husband had chicken souvlaki and my grandson had the mixed souvlaki. All were delicious and we cleaned our plates. We had baklava, some sort of unpronounceable custard desert which was lovely and a cheesecake. We left absolutely stuffed and more importantly my grandson loved it.

I absolutely LOVE The Aegean. It reminds my and my husband of going on holiday to Greece. I love the food and the atmosphere is amazing. If you have never been to one of the Greek nights.... it is a must. Fantastic for families and even better for couples. It's a new favourite restaurant for us.

Attend our very first Greek night experience. What a fantastic evening it was. Incredible atmosphere with beautiful food, huge portions (don't eat before you go) Fantastic staff, dancing all night with the staff joining in. Highly recommend.

Went with friends for lunch we all got something different all big portions and excellent tasty food, the cocktails where amazing. Definitely visiting again soon

Well we’re do I start!We went to the Aegean when it first opened on anlaby road and we were so impressed by the food and service we was always there , it was just so beautiful, I craved the delicious chicken slovaki when I was pregnant in lockdown and thay kindly let my hubby collect my order , I just love love love all the food (my baby almost came out Greek because I ate so much of it 🤣) . When they moved to newland avenue we thought oh no 😢 it was no longer on our doorstep, we went to the new location and oh my goodness it was better then ever . The Aegean is my favourite hull restaurant, i recommend it to all my friends, if you have not been and thinking of it …. GO , the staff are so lovely and the food is 10/10 . X

This was our first visit and will not be the last. We went for a Father’s Day lunch. We were greeted nicely on arrival and the waitress could not have been nicer. The menu was extensive and far too much to choose from so we decided to have the sharing platter. The food was delicious and plentiful, we brought home a doggy bag! Definitely recommend it x

Went for my husbands birthday last night. Great food. Very generous portions. None of us could finish our food. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend to people. Whether it's just 2 of you or a party you won't be left disappointed....... or hungry. 😊

We were greeted & shown to our table & told it would warm up soon. Unfortunately it never really felt that warm all the time we was there. Table service was friendly & welcoming. Food was lovely & fresh. Tzaziki & pitta bread amazing. When we got the receipt there was added service charge. I then questioned it where they said they could remove it. My point that a service charge is voluntary & shouldn't just be added to the bill without notification. There was nothing mentioned on the menu with prices saying it would be added on. We was already going to give a tip so we left it on, but we would've given a much bigger tip if this hadn't have been added on without prior notice. It's not fair to add this on expecting it when some ppl only have money to come out to eat as a treat, plus nothing to tell ppl about the add on before ordering. The 3 star is because I like to eat in a warm comfy place, plus the service charge being added. It's still a lovely place to eat & I would recommend it.

Me and my boyfriend just being again tonight and have to say wow, the food was fantastic. We had the daily special of calamari to share for starters with a Greek salad and then he had the clam linguine for main whilst I had the the mixed soluvaki. I’m not normally a seafood person but the clam linguine was beautiful. Finished off with a traditional Greek pudding and a ferroro rocher cake. Amazing service by all the staff and would 100% recommend.

Visited for my birthday and was amazing as always. This is my favourite restaurant and still keeps the top spot. Simon is a great chef and all the staff are brilliant, really friendly and helpful. Far superior to the other'greek' restaurants in Hull. When it was on Anlaby Road we could walk but too far now. Worth a taxi ride though.

Visited with a group of friends, the venue was new to all of us, but had been recommended. We all really loved it! The food was absolutely fantastic, really generous portions (I couldn't eat it all and was kindly given a box to take the left-overs home) and a great atmosphere and the prices pretty good. We were made very welcome by the staff. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a 10% service charge added, as I'd much rather decide how much to leave as a tip. I will definitely be going back!

Been here before, would definitely come back again and again. Ordered the seafood linguine, but they had ran out of mussels, so the Chef came over to see what I wanted. He cooked it without the mussels and it was still absolutely delicious. Gave him a tip as I would so happy with the service, he came over and offered us a free dessert for me and my boyfriend. As it was my boyfriends birthday he even brought the dessert out with a candle on. We then spend 30 minutes talking to the Chef about meat, Greece and other random stuff but it was such a lovely experience. Had the best night, and honestly can't fault the service. Can't wait until we go again :)

Authentic Greek food! We’ve been three times now when we’ve dropped our eldest off at Uni. If we lived closer we’d be here every week. Delicious food, generous portions, great service, fab atmosphere. Everything you could want for an enjoyable family meal. We had the meat platter (really good), amazing pork chop (huge) different salads, the courgette cakes are just like my Greek mother-in-law’s. If you’re in the area I’d definitely recommend.

Heard all good about this place, so decided to book a table for tea time on a Tuesday, knowing it would be quite, From start to finish, the service, food, taste was all what you would expect. True on a weekend the waiting time for your food would be longer, but great food is worth the wait. Yet another restaurant to return to.

This was a fantastic meal and one of the best I’ve had in the city. Succulent meat, perfectly crispy chips with a lovely soft inner centre. Not to mention the dips they offered were fantastic. Server was friendly. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I visited the restaurant this afternoon with my son as it was his 30th birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision, we did not have a booking. We were made to feel really welcome (even though I was still dressed in sweaty gym kit) and the young man serving could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble.. (he’s a credit to your business) All the food we ordered was absolutely delicious and at the end of the meal the staff and the chef (I think he’s the owner) brought my son a cake (Baklava) with a candle in it and all sang “happy birthday”They made a miserable rainy Monday into a truly special memorable day... would not hesitate to go back again.

First visit to the new venue for our first family meal since Christmas & it was a mix of good & bad.The positives, the new venue is beautiful, light & airy.The food was all delicious & portions very generous.Unfortunately there were several issues, firstly the covid qr scan didn't work, when mentioned to staff, the response was we know we need to change it! At no point were we asked for our contact details.We were quickly seated having booked for 6.15 & a drinks order taken, which all arrived promptly.25mins later we had to ask for our food order to be taken, to be told someone will be with us in 20mins as other tables before us. However 5mins later order was taken & food arrived in good time.At 7.40 we were rudely told that we would need to leave the table in 20mins as other people were waiting, we hadn't even been offered dessert or coffee, which we were waiting to order.An order was taken & another delay before desserts arrived.If you want to put a time limit on a table, advertise it on your website, 2hrs minimum is needed for 3 course meal & train your staff to work smarter. Most importantly, don't be rude.Hopefully just teething troubles in new busier venue, but service was unacceptable.

Went to Aegean on Wednesday (now on newland Avenue) fantastic food and service as always. Now its near us we are certainly going back

Don’t usually do reviews but felt I had to after this absolutely gorgeous meal. First time I had ordered from here and Was restaurant quality, cooked perfectly, generous portions and so delicious!. Throughout the whole of lockdown I’ve been ordering from new places and this is easily the best of the year, just wish I’d discovered it earlier!!

We have eaten in this restaurant before and tonight we decided to have a takeaway and we were not disappointed.We collected our order as currently there are no delivery slots in our area, we started with the spinach and feta parcels, saganaki and tsatziki and followed with the styfado and kleftiko, both with chips. The food was very fresh, hot and plentiful, it really was restaurant quality food at home and made us long for our Greek holidays that we have missed so much throughout the pandemic, we will definitely order again and recommend to family and friends.

Wow, wow and wow again. We’ve just had a takeaway from The Aegean and it was one of the nicest meals me and my partner have had. We ordered the mixed souvlaki, the meat platter, hummus with garlic pitta breads and it was absolutely delicious. So fresh and tasty!! It was still hot when it came and it was not greasy at all. I can’t wait until we can have the full experience of eating inside the restaurant. I would 100% recommend the Aegean, it was delicious!!!

Ordered a takeaway last weekend for a family members birthday as we would usually visit the restaurant. Food was delicious and very hot. Cannot fault and would definitely recommend to others! Can’t wait to order from again.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food has always been fabulous. Last nights takeaway for my birthday was no different. We ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and Mixed Souvlaki and it was amazing. My son who never fancied coming to the restaurant with us was blown away by it so when it reopens, they will gain another customer. Keep going Aegean, can't wait to come back soon.

We have been to the Aegean numerous times before this lunacy descended on us all and they started offering a take away service, Which we have used a few times as well, with our first trip of the new year we went for some things different and it's great to see the food and service is as good as ever, kleftico was amazing, spinach parcels amazing, souvlaki amazing, everything was excellent, thanks to all the staff, keep it up till we can come back inside.A+++++

Ordered during 3rd lockdown and my god was it worth the money, the food was simply amazing and the staff on the phone were brilliant, they when rang to say the food was going to be ten minutes late but that they would give us both free soft drinks for the lateness, what a breath of fresh air these people are, well done and keep up the amazing work.

WOW!What a great little restaurant.We called to book a table and arrived on time to be promptly seated by a super friendly gentleman. He served us throughout our visit and he was so helpful and polite.We decided to go for the meat platter to share. It was super tasty and very filling.The atmosphere was nice with a good ambiance.We left super satisfied and will certainly return in the near future.

What a fabulous place - we were transported back to rural Greece with typical taverna decor and Hellenic roofscape views to add to the Mediterranean atmosphere.We recommend unreservedly the mezze at £24.95 a head - bags of food and a good selection all freshly prepared and brought to the table in a conveyor belt that bordered on alarming towards the end.6 dips with olives and pittas, followed by dolmades and meatballs. Next came grilled saganaki with pork loin and spicy sausage, garlic mushrooms and courgette fritters.Then it was garlic king prawns, a mountain of deep fried squid, and mussels in tomato sauce. Finally we were presented with lamb chops, pork and chicken souvlaki, lamb kebab, Greek salad, chips and rice.By the time the meat arrived we were all beginning to wish we had taken the advice of the waiter to go easy on the dips to save space for later in the meal. Good advice that will be heeded next time!Service was spot on - attentive but unassuming- and all the staff from the maitre ‘d to the servers were friendly and courteous.This was possibly the best eating out experience we have had in 11 years and excellent value for money.Cannot recommend this wonderfully casual restaurant more highly - deserves 7 stars!

Our first night out since March was made perfect by brilliant food, fantastic atmosphere, attentive servers and great wine. Throughly enjoyable night.

We visited this wonderful restaurant for our friends birthday. Unfortunately due to the current situation effecting deliveries we were unable to have the meze as planned but enjoyed fabulous food with excellent service. Although there was only a few people in the waiter managed to create a good atmosphere chatting with the customers. I believe they had been expecting more tables from their bookings but these failed to show up.Small businesses are already struggling if you book a table and are unable to go please advise the restaurant. We chose a selection of starters : Cypriot sausage, meatballs, taramasalata, grilled cheese and baked feta all delicious. The boys had the meat platter, enormous but great. My friend chose Kleftico whilst I had Calamari. So much beautiful food but we managed most of it. The waiter bought our friend a rum baba with a candle and we all sang happy birthday. They did the same for the lady on the other table. Lovely touch. To finish we had the best expresso martinis. Fabulous night looking forward to next visit. Thanks again for a great evening.

Never been before but heard so many good things about the place so decided to pay it a visit. Staff were very welcoming and we were seating in a lovely area. Paper menu but Corvid19 still around. Food was not only of a high standard but the measures you get are enough to feed an Hippo. Not cheap and not expensive, just average prices. Highly recommended from me

Discovered this hidden gem last month and we've been back for our 2nd visit this month. prime example of not judging something by its cover, what you see from the outside is far different once you walk through the doors. First experience here, and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. It’s light, bright and sunny, just like being in a taverna in Greece or one of the Greek islands and I’ve been many times. The authentic Greek music and the welcome is fabulous. Food was delicious and the service was amazing. Thank you for a beautiful night. Might have to book again very soon as our holiday to Corfu has been cancelled and we need a fix.

Four of us visited for the second time on Friday 04/09. What a lovely place this is. Difficult times with Covid but felt very safe with tables spaced appropriately and sanitisers dotted around the restaurant. The food was delicious and great value for money at £120 all in with several rounds of drinks. Really can’t fault this place and would highly recommend.

Visited The Aegean as our first #eatouttohelpout as we have always had the most enjoyable time here. Didn't disappoint. We were an early booking 4.30pm so it was very quiet when we arrived, lovely Greek background music. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely beautiful, no cutbacks because there was 50% discount. We were so full we got offered a takeaway box for what we couldn't eat. The social distancing and other Covid rules were adhered to strictly. As more people arrived, the music was turned up slightly and the atmosphere was lovely. Very enjoyable couple of hours - 4 generations of us. Will certainly be back

We arrived at 6pm this afternoon and we're seated straight away. It was the first time we'd eaten here and we were delighted at the ambience, service and homemade dishes. The portions were generous and the food very tasty as you can see by the pics. If we live closer we'd be regulars.If you haven't been here before I'd highly recommend it but you need to book first as it's very popular!

After hearing only good thing about this restaurant, I thought I'd give it a go "mid covid pandemic" Well I was not disappointed, the service was spot-on and friendly and the food was top notch with generous portions.Would definitely recommend and will be going again!

Visited on Saturday at 6pm and it was fairly busy, it took a while to take our order but not sure if that was because we arrived early and they were busy. Food was very nice and cocktails were great. Will be back to try some of the other dishes as everything they brought out looked very nice.

Used this restaurant for years but just had takeaway in lockdown and it was beautiful 5* even had a bottle of mythos great treat and great value to 😘😘😘

Went there with my friend for a girls night out. The food was lovely and the service as well. We had a great time and we will return very soon. The only thing I didn’t particularly like is that they didn’t have many vegetarian options, luckily that didn’t spoil my night.

We visited this restaurant this evening, we ordered five starters between four of us, plus, followed by four main courses. Far too much food, but of excellent qualify. Lovely staff in a busy establishment with a great atmosphere.

You can only judge on what you experience. Nothing was bad but nothing was great. The mixed meat meze was ok but all the meat was a bit dry and a bit overcooked. The chips were good and the prices are decent for what you get. The staff were a bit reserved but gave good service. I think this is more suited to groups who want fun as quite loud for a family of 4. Sorry but average today.

Visited the Aegean for my wife's birthday. We were greeted as we went through the door & shown to our table. The waiter took the time to explain what dishes that were available. The food arrived promptly & was very good. I have already recommended the restaurant to a number of my friends.

Visited this restaurant with a party ten restaurant was full shown to our table and then left for about twenty minutes the waiter then came and said sorry we’re busy and left came back after five minutes took our drinks order asked for our food orders . My wife order the kleftico when it came very disappointed poor example of a classic Greek dish the res of the party’s wasn’t much better meybe picked the wrong night sorry not impressed

Managed to book a table for a Saturday night and was so pleased we did book. The place was very busy with people waiting for tables to become free. But it’s totally understandable. The cocktail menu did not disappoint as I love a tequila sunrise! I had two and was then too squiffy to try the ouzotini but I’ll make a point to next time! The menu was very easy to read and made my mouth water. We were tempted by the Meze (starters followed by fish dishes and then followed by meat dishes) however neither of us are keen on fish - so we were then offered the mini Meze which is the same as above but without the fish! The food was to die for and plenty of it! Lots of dips and bread and the beans were delicious! I’m not a great meat eater but the lamb was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone and everyone

Visited again and so glad we booked as we would never have got in otherwise. Great choice of food which, when it arrived, was flavoursome and filling. Washed down with a few Mythos beers and great value for money.

Visited on Saturday evening. Restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. Food was very very good and fresh. Generous portion sizes and swift service. It did not disappoint and I can why it is the number 1 ranked restaurant in Hull. Definitely worth a visit!!

Authentic Greek dishes with warm, attentive service, in stylish surroundings. No wonder it was packed on a Saturday night. We'll be back!

Went with a large group of friends,and had excellent service and food. Everyone in our group was very happy. What a great atmosphere!

I have been here 2 times with my mum and dad and been recently for my 40th and the food is fantastic the staff are friendly and the service is very good I would recommend this place to anyone in my family to visit give this 5 stars

Me an my husband went to The Aegean and the food was outstanding I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The staff was so friendly and welcoming we will be going back and it will become a favourite of ours.
