Worst experience I've ever had getting take-out food. Despite repeating my order for a donner wrap back to me twice, they put in some kind of disgusting slop. I'm still sick that I bit into it and may have swallowed some at my accommodation. When I unwrapped and looked there was nothing even slightly like donner meat. Once bitten, twice shy as they say, I will never trust this place again. They could hide any nastiness in a wrap and sell it to you. I wish someone had warned me! I strongly suggest that readers of this comment go elsewhere for actual food. I can only suppose that the good reviews for this place on this site are in relation to food sold by the previous owners.

Mi familia ha estado visitando a Efes por muchos años. El propietario es muy acogedor y la comida siempre es excelente.

I have never really liked going here but sometimes necessity kicks in late late at night when the tummy rumbles. Not the warmest welcome you'll ever get either.

Extremely poor service. Very rude. Swearing and use of foul language. Food was tasty but the service left a sour taste. DO NOT VISIT. Far superior fast food nearby with 10x better customer service. Ruined the end of a fantastic night. Bitterly disappointed.

He visitado un par de veces Efes última visita el sábado 6 de julio. La pizza es preciosa mi nieto y yo tenía una 12" cada uno. Mi marido tenía el pollo Pakora y mi hijo tenía un kebab. Tuvimos una muy agradable vino rojo con nuestra comida y algunas cervezas. El caballero que hace la comida y sirve mesas es siempre muy agradable y cortés para sus clientes. Los alrededores no son lujosas, pero las mesas y sillas son limpias como los de abajo a los aseos. Los precios son geniales y el servicio es excelente.

My wife and I popped out for a pint last night and planned on having something to eat at the bar. Unfortunately, the had finished serving by the time we arrived so after a pint popped around the corner to Efes for a quick kebab. It was certainly one of the nicer ones that I've had in Edinburgh, with the added bonus of being able to sit in whilst eating it.

After a recommendation from a friend I've visited this place several times. It's something of a guilty pleasure. I've only ever ordered the large doner kebab with all the trimmings but that's for a good reason: It's very good. I highly recommend eating all the kebab and salad then leaving the pitta bread until last, once it's soaked up the sauce etc - the flavour is awesome - absolute post-pub bliss.

My friend and I stopped by for some pizza, along with some other people who had clearly been out at the pub like us. However, one of the other customers was extremely aggressive towards my friend for no real reason other than the fact that we are English and he a Scot. However, the owner immediately intervened and defended us against the man's verbal abuse. People like this deserve not only respect, but business! Stop by on your way past and you know you'll be safe in Efes restaurant. (The pizza is also delicious!)

If you want a really clean kebab cooked well, go here. By clean, I mean quality meat and not dripping in fat. Don't come here if you want late night pizza, after all it a Turkish restaurant and even by their own admittance don't specialise in pizza

Well I thought the food was great and the man is lovely i dont know how on earth hes gotten these bad reviews i go at least once every couple weeks at least; burgers chips pizza kebabs all spot on :)

The perfect place to grab a cheap pizza after a night at the pub! Granted it's not the classiest venue, but if you're looking for a takeaway to bring home and eat on the sofa then it's delicious! Wonderful freshly made pizzas at great prices.

My band and I went here whilst on tour Tuesday night and contracted severe food poisoning. It was horrendous.Two day later I am still not better. Not only was the service terrible, rude and slow the food will make you very very ill.. GO ELSEWHERE, GO HUNGRY, JUST DON'T GO HERE!

We ate at Afes tonight. In the past the service has been gracious and the food satisfactory. Tonight the food was ok. However, the server told us-whilst the food was cooking-that the restaurant was closing in 5 minutes. Then, before the food had even touched the table, the lights were turned off, and the kebab shop owner was stood at the door, beckoning for us to leave. I'm sorry, but ok-if you are charging £1 for some chips then please feel free to beckon for me to leave. My friend and I paid £10 for two days portions of chips with a few slices of kebab laying on top. Please, show some respect to your customera. And it you plan to charge them £10 for two portions of chips with kebab meat please offer the decency of allowing them to stay for 10 minutes to consume the produce.

As soon as I entered the shop I felt unwelcome, the staff hardly acknowledged me, treated me terribly. The chips were undercooked and when I asked for more sauce on the chips they swore under their breath. Don't eat here ever they shouldn't be allowed to interact with people let alone run a business.

Not much to say other than the food i have had here has always been consistently good be it burgers, kebabs etc. The guy that runs it is always polite and friendly. Not sure why another review thought he was rude, never seen that myself.

I have been to many kebabs in my life but this one is the worst without any doubt. First no greeting at the beginning or at the end and never a smile. The chef was also so rude that when we asked to change the table cover that was so full of stains, he moaned that he was not going to change it. The food was not edible, the meat was like plastic and overall didn't look very mouth-watering. In fact, nobody finished the food (we were 4). Don't go there!

We have been visiting Efes for many years.It is a takeaway/small restaurant on the roadd leading from Tollcross to Bruntsfield. Spartan surroundings but the focus is on serving tasty food. Helpings are always generous and learning from past mistakes we skipped the tasty starters and chose our main courses-we both opted for Yogurtlu doner. Masses of lamb smothered in a spicy tomato sauce and yoghurt served on a bed of pitta and fluffy rice. Only £7.50 each. I opted for a bottle of efes beer at £3 and my wife ordered a carafe of white wine at £6Very tasty and very reasonable too
