First time I've visited this location as it's normally very busy but I came early for breakfast, breakfast stops at 11:30 so was just in time. Food was absolutely amazing, cooked fresh where you can see cooking hot and delicious. Order at the till or scan QR code on table. Quirky decor just paintwork needs updating in places. The staff were friendly and happy but unfortunately gotta mark them down as standing together chatting but could hear them swearing disappointed to put that as they obviously get on really well just don't swear in earshot of customers. Otherwise fabulous place

The upfront lady obviously didn't want to be there & said we couldn't use any gift cards associated with st David's cardiff although their part of st David's so we left.will never go back

Honestly 5/5 stars I don’t remember who the guy at the registers name was but he was very kind and I recommend you get the tenders because the cayenne ranch is to die for it’s delish. Also I recommend for a drink the coke float!!!

Used to love coming here but there was a limited range available on this day, only half of which was advertised to us by a member of staff and our chocolate shakes ordered online had to be refunded manually by staff because there was no ice cream. There was also no sauce available for the table.

I ordered a burger and loaded fries but after a while I didn't get my food or drink. I asked what was going on. They had given my food to a different table, they then went a took my food back from that table after some person had already started eating the chips and put ketchup in the burger, they then tried to give it to me. I asked for my meal to be remade and they were not happy it 😑

Well what an experience today ordered a smokey Joe burger and fries turn up with a chicken burger. When told a member of staff that I received the wrong food they finally turned up with the correct order the burger was freezing cold and just slapped together which was fit for the bin spoke to the manager and his attitude was appalling

Después de pedir el desayuno el restaurante trató de cobrarnos más de £ 10 a mucho, Después de casi una hora tuve que ir a pedir nuestra comida, Cuando finalmente llegó estaba frío como piedra, los huevos eran como goma y sin duda no era un desayuno grande. Las tortitas estaban bien, pero servido con una crema acuosa de una lata de pulverización, la decoración ahora es lamentablemente falta y necesita una renovación. Solía ir a una cena regular en Eds, sin embargo, obviamente ha habido un cambio de manos y no para mejor Ed necesita una patada seria en la parte trasera, ahora es un lugar horrible para el desayuno (y no barato) y no volveré.

I’ve come to Ed’s many times over the years and it’s always satisfactory. The food quality has never declined and the prices are very reasonable, we got 2 meals and drinks for £35. Amazing service skills, Jose served us today and was very helpful. I definitely recommend eating here!

Used to be a really good selection for gluten free but I haven't been here for a while. It's much more limited and now only 2 options available. Big shame. Service was very slow even though it was very quiet. The person before us left because he'd Waited so long even though he'd paid. I ordered fries which took half an hour to come out and were cold. Won't be returning.

Can't review anything because it's saying that it's open 9 till 9 but at 9.15 its closed, need to update the times online.

-Food here was very overpriced for what you get, having to order over the phone via QR code was one of the most awkward things we had to do, during the end of the process the webpage asking for a 15% tip? We're not in America, there's nobody getting service in the restaurant . Nearly £60 for this is just a scam at this point. -Atmosphere wasn't really good, staff seemed like they hated being there, just leaning about and not doing much, also the music was too loud . -Food, everything tasted reheated and overcooked. Nothing had flavour. 2/5 Will avoid going to this place in the future .

Great burgers, and one of too-few places to serve a peanut butter milkshake. Bottomless soft drinks were good, but if staff are really busy (as they were when I was there), you might have to wait a little longer than you'd like to get a refill (but I can't blame staff, who were all super-friendly).

I first reviewed Ed's 6 years ago and I thought it was brilliant. But I had to update. Sadly I think they have really gone down in their standards. They only offer 1 vegetarian/vegan substitute for mains. This is basically a breaded chicken Quorn Fillet in a bun. Both meals ordered were just a burger a bun and a sad bit of lettuce. No tomato no relish... You also have to have a side with your burger which is at least £14. I have had better at a burger van on the side of the motorway. Honestly I would reccomend McDonalds rather than here, the food is better and cheaper. No table service any more. Tables and walls are looking tatty. The staff were OK. The milkshakes still remain good. You hardly ever see this place full anymore. I've walked past it different times of the day and there have been maybe 1-2 tables full. It's really sad because this was a good resteraunt.

Staff were very patient and helpful when going through the allergens in the dishes. The food tasted great and the shakes are awesome!

Waitstaff was very polite and the vibe was incredible! Unfortunately my nachos were cold and I didn't eat much of them. Semi made up for by the milkshake, delicious.

Visited there on a charity event, the staff were so lovely and the food was delicious.

Eds Easy Diner was a very welcoming place. They gave us free food while we were on a charity challenge in which we were not allowed to spend any money for 24hrs. The food was very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. Thank you for all your help!!!

Pretty mediocre burger and fries which cost £14. Bottomless sodas were flat with no fizz. And the service was super slow. Friendly staff though!

It was nice slightly disappointed we were not greeted as usual but told to sit anywhere they handed us menus and we sat down there was no customer service we had to sort ourselves out hoping for table service we waited and no one came over so we but the bullet and used the barcode which i personally find defeats the whole purpose of dining the food and drinks were quick to arrive but were plonked on the table and left without the usual table side manners we asked for sauces and were simply pointed at a checkout desk suggestion we had to help ourselves the food was good quality and thankfully delicious but if you're looking for somewhere to go for a DINING experience I wouldn't recommended

Really stripped back the menu since I was here last. There used to be far more gluten free options and now there are only two options for burgers. It cost almost £20 for a burger, fries, and a drink. It was okay but not what I'd expect from something costing that much.

A pit-stop for lunch. Burger was so good, and the loaded waffles were fab (nicer I think than the loaded fries). Milkshakes are amazing. You order on the app and it is brought to the table. Slightly on the higher price side, but it was really tasty.

Food is always bang on, can't say I've ever had a bad meal. Seasoned fries are lovely, as are the burgers which are nice and juicy.

Had the texan burger with filthy waffle fries ( cheese and Bacon ) and my wife just had the filthy fries. Both a milkshake me chocolate and my wife strawberry. Food was incredible and literally one of the best milkshakes I've had in the UK. So a little pricey but big portions of food, and very tasty. I would recommend this place as they have good options such as chicken wings, hot dogs etc for the whole family.

Excellent staff, very helpful polite and friendly. The service was quick and our food was delivered with a smile. I can only rate what I had which was The Cheesy Burger with a side of seasoned fries and coleslaw with Sprite to drink followed by a Vegan Lotus Biscof Milkshake. Everything was lovely, though my one complaint would be that my beef patties were overcooked and dry (but that's personal preference), the fries and coleslaw were very tasty and the vegan Biscof milkshake was delicious. All in all a very good dining experience.

A typical American diner serving American food. Food was tasty but very heavy which is great as its good value for money. We came on a weekend where it was very busy and it wasnt that much of a long wait which we appreciated.

Staff were very helpful and the quality of everything we tried was amazing, 10/10 great little american experience in Cardiff (better that slims next door)

I don't like to give Ed's Diner a low score... because I have had really nice meals here over the last few years... But our most recent trip was a bit of a letdown. My meal was great, as was our friend's meal... but my wife's could have ended badly, as her chicken wings were very undercooked. We were told by staff that the wings are pre-cooked and then reheated in the restaurant, so maybe we shouldn't blame the staff here... But the wings were raw in the middle, with blood clearly visible inside. So, maybe a quick check of the food before serving is needed, some quality control. It won't put us off eating here as the food is almost always good quality... But we will be avoiding the chicken wings in the future.

I honestly can't recommend this place as there are other places in Cardiff that provide better burger's or similar food with better prices. What gives this two stars is the cool theme you get and the milkshakes are pretty good (they will fill you up) but as an overall burger or fast food/restaurant/ American diner it's just not good quality for the price. This review would get 4 maybe even 5 stars if the prices were better. If you want a better burger experience just go out the door and walk 2 mins to grazing shed, if you want better chicken legitimate next door is ideal (even though that's a bit pricey too) or walk to Popeye or wing. Overall if you NEVER been to an eds diner and want the novelty of eating in a place like that...then sure go visit it once! Just get a milkshake, and just be careful what else you order as it might be too much food and cost. If you been before this one is ok, and if you love eds diner then I'm sure my review won't even matter so go ahead and knock yourself out with this one I guess. Oh also there's no toilet, but there one round the corner so that's not an issue, it's not their fault.

Well... I mean where do I start! We sat down on a wonky table, we were greated I'll give them that!. We ordered on the QR code 2 full breakfasts .. 3 bacon, 2 hash browns, 1 sausage, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, beans, and maple syrup... Well... What came out was shocking and tbh don't think I would feed it to my worst enemy!. 2 rashers of bacon cremated and cold but not the 3 it should have been. 1 cold sausage, 2 Luke warm eggs and hash browns and a bowl of bean juice! And possibly 4 beans that I counted 🤣. Now, we got the attention of the reason serving and asked for some more beans and this was just juice.. his reply was priceless! " Yeah I thought that too!" Marvelous! If you thought that why did you serve it. We also asked for the extra rashers of bacon for our meals that were missing.. and well, by the looks on the cooks face you'd have thought I'd asked him for the clothes off his back.. Anyway 2 mins later a pot of actual baked beans arrived.. still cold! And another 2 rashers of cold bacon.. As you can imagine it was minging.. won't be rushing back. It's basically pay for your cold food and the rest is self service! If that's what you're into this is the place for you

The milkshakes are banging especially the mint and caramel mix which isn’t made anymore but more than half the time I order there’s always a clump of hair or dust in it. They don’t clean at all by looking at the state of the lamps and the staff don’t wear hair nets or even a hat to protect the food

I went yesterday (5th may)with my friend and my Brothers before the Bruce Springsteen concert. Both my friend and i use a wheelchair. we we made very welcome. The waitress was very nice and very helpful. Food was lovely too 😋.

Really disappointed, I wanted a burger with no cheese for my dad, but was told it would not be possible as they cant change menu items. Staff seemed uninterested. Just wanted a plain burger, didnt think it would be hard

This was my first and certainly my last visit here. We had to wait an hour for our food to arrive even though it wasn’t buys at all, the staff were doing nothing! When the food finally came I noticed that my cup had a hole in it, the food wasn’t very nice and the paint on the walls were pealing off. I recommend not going here as you are wasting your time.

Came here with friends from work, was served by the lovely Niah (Apologies if misspelt). I was the liability of the group with multiple dietary requirements. The service we received was amazing! Niah was very informative, gave me a tablet to note my dietary requirements to assist with menu choices, and came back to the table to ensure everything was OK and to update us if and when needed. The customer service level really was above and beyond. It was truly appreciated, as i get anxious eating out. She is a credit to the company, i will definitely go there again, and I highly recommend! Thankyou! ^_^

Great food Grandson loved his huge milkshake!! They even topped a mini one with cream and cookies for our younger grandaughter. Young guy who served us was really helpful and pleasant . Food arrived quickly and was delicious. Enjoyed by all

Had a burger that was the size of a mcdonalds cheese burger, delicious but tiny. Had mac'n'cheese as a side, macaroni was over cooked and mushy. Service could have been better, polite but a smile goes a long way especially when dealing with children. Not the worst experience but will not be my first choice.

We have been here before and really enjoyed it..so thought we'd repeat the experience and it was great, we ordered at the table via the QR code ..very quick and easy, the food was lovely and the servers were very pleasant. 2nd visit, 2nd great experience 👍👍👍

We stopped here for lunch on my partners birthday. After many times of walking past over the past year or so thinking it looks like a good place to eat we decided to try Ed’s Out! We were not disappointed. Fast service, hot and tasty food, amazing milkshakes. We ordered 1x Burger, onion rings, 1x Bacon Hotdog, 1x Strawberry milkshake and 1x Oreo Milkshake. Incredibly friendly staff, young female waitress in particular (unsure of her name!) We were explaining how we were staying at the secret garden glamping and she shared that she had stayed there also and hoped we had a great time! If you’re reading this thank you for great service! :)

Stopped in for some lunch on our day out in Cardiff City centre. Food was lovely as was the atmosphere and the member of staff who served us particularly was very friendly, even wished us a happy anniversary! Would recommend 😁

We're very careful about dietary requirements. Took real care and gave great service. Took allergies seriously. Can't ask for better.

Food was not good this time. Usually better than this. Had the full breakfast. Mushrooms cold, tinned and insipid possibly boiled or microwaved at some point. Hash browns greasy and overcooked. Toast barely cooked. Sqdly crossed off the list now. Not table checked but limited staff on floor who were busy.

It was great after the rugby, I liked it.
