We have visited Eden before for just tea and cake. We decided to visit on a Sunday on the off chance. The resteraunt was very busy with all tables in use except for one free table to which we took it gladly. We ordered tea and food from the menu. All was perfect, if not a long wait. We did not know about the 90 min rule, so I can imagine if you are a group of four or more, you will eat into the 90-minute very quickly. Two hours would be more reasonable. The staff are young people who are trying to be efficient, but they are quite forgetful. Having finished our meal and the promise of bringing the sweet menu, this never took place after at least a 10-minute wait. We ordered takeaway cake instead. There are far more positive reviews than negative, and I can understand some slight negativity, but please don't let this put you off from experiencing a really nice time here.

Friend of mine took me out to spend some time over here. It was above my expectations. The art shop on the ground floor and a great coffe place above. It was really worth. Looking forward to visit some day again.

Called with my wife to have brunch. Airy surroundings and a nice ambience. Galleries are lovely too. Excellent meals and very.nicely preserved chi lattes (see pics). I had the beef brisket and my one had salmon on crumpets. Delicious. Attentive service from Karen. We made a point of thanking the chefs too. Thanks from Marc and Joanne.

I found the workshops at Eden Newburgh after completing a beginners pottery course elsewhere. I usually attend the open access studio space but have also attended various half day workshops to learn new techniques. I have learned more in the last six months at Eden than the previous eighteen months. The quality of teaching is excellent, well paced and the tutors have incredible skills which they are keen to share. The atmosphere is welcoming and I really do enjoy my time whenever I come. The building is beautiful but your greatest asset by far has to be Eden staff who are, without exception simply brilliant.

What a lovely experience we had here for our daughter’s 7th Birthday gathering with her friends. The Paint a Pot was fantastic and the girls loved it - we can’t wait to get the finished products back. We then went to the Tea rooms upstairs which was lovely - how we have not visited here before I don’t know! The staff couldn’t do enough, the service was brilliant and the food was delicious. Thank you all for making it a memorable experience …. sorry if we were a little too noisy!!

I am writing to the selfish lady who was breast feeding her toddler whilst I was having lunch. I certainly do not object to you breast feeding but please do not do it in the centre of the restaurant. Or please cover up. The child was a toddler and ate crisp from your plate as soon as you stopped so was certainly big enough, not to be breastfeeding at that particular time. Please have some respect for other customers whilst I certainly do not have any objections to breastfeeding, please cover up or do it at the side. I do not want to see your boobs when I am eating. Thank you!

Clean and tidy dining area. Friendly and well presented staff. Really nice quality food. It’s a shame the view is not good considering it is in an area of great views across the countryside. But that did not detract from the afternoon tea experience.

Aesthetically pleasing but a shame the food doesn’t match up. I came here when it first opened with a more unique menu, better service and quality. French toast was just toast and the accompaniment of stewed seasonal fruit was merely 1 strawberry and two blueberries having added on clotted cream on for additional £1.50 it’s lucky I did because even the dressing of so called blueberry syrup was hard to spot. The coffee however was delightful. To top of the minimal experience nowhere on the website does it suggest the menu differs from inside and out. I f wanting to catch some rays whilst eating breakfast is on your wish list. Withhold from this spot as the outside menu is minimal and basic - sandwiches or sausage and toast.

Absolutely awful!! Value for money 0, service appalling. Afternoon tea is a total rip off. £25 comes with a pot of tea. Twice we had to ask for our tea. Younger members of staff were attentive however the member of staff who greeted us with "ya tables not ready wait downstairs." To then coming back upstairs 15 mins later "You will have to wait it's not ready." Eventually the grumpiest of waitresses looked over to our group and made a hand gesture to say the table was ready didn't even come over and say sorry about the wait. Ordered drinks wrong drinks came. I highly advise you not to book afternoon tea here. Oh and the soup was cold. When your time was up they made it quite obvious in a very rude way to leave! AVOID!!!!!!!!

We ordered a veggie nachos. While it was very tasty and quite substantial we were surprised to see it contained baked beans instead of refried beans. My friend's veggie breakfast didn't have an egg with it. But he enjoyed it anyway. The coffee was excellent. However...the lemon merangue cake had no merangue - which was a serious disappointment. Had it been advertised as lemon cake it would have been fine. But there very clearly was no merangue anywhere to be seen. Service was attentive and efficient.. So 4 star...but some way off a 5 star ...

We went to Eden last week for afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. It was fantastic !!! The afternoon tea was lovely as were the very attentive staff. Some previous reviews had mentioned the time limit on tables so as soon as we sat down I asked if this was the case and was told there was no time limit on our table. Perhaps this was due to timing - we had booked for 2pm. It was quite noisy when we first arrived but as the people who had been there for lunch started to leave it quietened down considerably. This does raise a question though ..... when the place is full and the noise level is quite high is it not possible to turn off the background music?

These days , a trip out for lunch or even just coffee and cake is about the whole experience , not just the food and drink and so , though our food wasn’t absolutely perfect , we enjoyed the friendly and attentive service , the beautiful surroundings , the quirky and colourful cups and saucers and the huge selection of cakes and other dishes on offer . I would definitely come back and I think it’s worth paying a bit extra to be in nice surroundings and feel you are having a nice time in a special place . The lift was an added bonus too for my “less young” relative who would otherwise have found the stairs a bit of a challenge .

We've passed this place so many times and thought it looked lovely. We were really looking forward to our visit. It's very pretty inside but that's the only good thing about the place. You are only allowed to stay for 90 minutes at your table. This would be okay if the service was prompt, but we waited over 50 minutes for our food, and then my mother had to wait even longer because they got her order wrong. Four tables who had all arrived after us received their food before us. The food was awful. Baked potato with beef brisket - the beef was dry and tasteless. No butter on the potato until I asked. My mother's bacon was overcooked. She couldn't cut it with her knife. My husband's salmon was overcooked too and was tasteless and unseasoned. Our bill for a baked potato, breakfast and salmon on crumpet, plus 2 teas and a coffee came to £48. Grossly overpriced. The place was also very noisy, probably due to the acoustics of the building. I left with a headache! We would not visit again. So many better establishments within a short drive. The Wayfarer at Parbold. The Hop Vine and the Ship in Burscough. The Chapel in Ormskirk.

Visited today for breakfast, having been numerous times before. What a disappointment. Simple breakfast, just bacon and egg sandwiches. The bacon was so hard it was difficult to eat and tasteless, and the poached egg was overcooked. At £33+ with coffee, we regretfully won't return.

I visited Eden tearooms today with my sister to do some pottery painting. We had such a lovely afternoon. There was so much choice to paint & prices were clearly labeled so you knew the cost. The studio do not charge a fee either. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to lynne for being so patient with us as it was the first time we’d tried this activity. We can’t wait to go back for another workshop. Thanks again.

Went to Eden today, firstly didn't have our booking! They have a 90 minute visit time which is fine if they managed their time well. We ordered our meal when they asked, lunch and then cake at no time did we ask for extra time to consider our choices. While eating our cake we were told that our table was required asap! One of our party hadn't even started their coffee, the manager I presume then also came and asked had we been told that our table was needed asap!! We began to move, she then came back and said we didn't need to go as they had reconfigured the tables, I'm afraid too little too late. On paying the bill my daughter highlighted that we hadn't been happy with the way we were treated and that it wasn't our fault if the 90 minute time limit hadn't been kept to, it was their poor time management which the lady seemed to have a problem grasping. Unfortunately at no point was the word sorry uttered by them, very poor customer service, won't be returning.

Lovely tearoom, however most customers have to drive there due to location. Therefore quite disappointing for first thing to see was a sign saying only allowed to stay for 90 minutes. Not very welcoming.Very expensive for coffee and a cake.Service nothing more than items delivered to table. No smile or thank you, however mostly young girls working there. Most disappointing was the tip situation.Felt pressure to leave tip when cashier pointed our card options for tip 15% ! Then felt she watched intensly what I opted for. Friend went next day and commented had same experience. I don't usually tip when I go for a coffee ,but somehow did this time.Would not make a special journey just to visit here again .Breakfast for family of 4 with drinks would not leave much change out of £100 ,Eggs Benedict £15 alone!

Awful customer service. Short server with dyed blind hair really rude when simply asked for flavours of frappes. Took an interest while drinking our drinks and she was equally obnoxious with 200% of customers. 50% of tables not cleared and floor littered with discarded tissues. Place half empty on a busy market Saturday. 6 other coffee houses within 100 metres. Clearly people voting with their feet Server in question looked hungover, regularly going into back kitchen for 5 minutes breaks leaving a young server alone to cope. Fortunately, not too many customers to worry about. Starbucks next visit I think...
