We are on holiday here and had Sunday lunch yesterday and the food was delicious. We chose the beef and two huge tender pink pieces were served across a bed of very flavoursome roast potatoes and a massive Yorkshire pudding on the side. The veggie accompaniments were also very tasty, cauliflower and leek cheese, peas and carrots and red cabbage and a swede mash. It was the best Sunday lunch we can remember. The atmosphere was relaxed, with chilled out music and our black Labrador was welcomed. He very much enjoyed the left overs and there was plenty as the portions were wonderfully generous. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go back on Friday 🥰 I also had the chocolate brownie which was rich and indulgent. Sorry no pictures as we dug right in 🤣

What a fabulous place this is!The food is delicious and flavoursome the best meal out this holiday. The steak was perfect as well as the accompanying vegetables and an amazing jus. Glad we had a dessert which were both delicious and full of flavour the brûlée was raspberry and vanilla with a crunchy top absolutely amazing. The brownie was also very good indeed. The dishes are a credit to the chef, he showed us the fresh bread he was making for the evening menu.If you want a fabulous meal try this little gem.

My husband & I ate in this restaurant for the first time in June following Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed and had one of the best lobster dinners we have had anywhere. Accordingly, we ate there again last week. They hadn’t been able to get any lobster but we both had delicious tiger prawn starters. My husband had the seafood linguine and I had dressed crab. They were both freshly cooked and delicious. We shall be returning to eat there again when we are next in Woolacombe.

We visited for a Sunday roast, having read reviews. We were not disappointed it was one of the best we have had. It’s a dog friendly restaurant which made life easier for us having coming off the beach with our 3 dogs. Nice touch was to come out and share the last bits of meat with the dogs at the end. A truly dog friendly place and can’t recommend it enough. If we come back to Woolacombe again we will definitely be booking in! I would recommend reserving a table as it’s a little gem that will be fully booked on a Sunday.

Wow, what a beautiful fish restaurant that has the bonus of being dog friendly. If you don’t like fish don’t worry there are other options available. We had oysters, mussels, cod, crab seafood linguine & steak and everything was beautiful. It’s not a big place so make sure you reserve a table. You will not be disappointed.

We visited Friday evening full of expectation of a great meal and we were not disappointed! We arrived early and enjoyed a drink outside whilst browsing the menu and had decided our courses when we were called inside. We shared the garlic aioli with bread pre starter, followed by the fowey mussels and the mushrooms with scallops, all excellent choices. For mains we had the king prawn and mussel linguini and I had the venison and pork burger, I don't normally go for burgers but I am delighted that I did 😀 it was the best burger I have ever had! For dessert we enjoyed the mango and passion fruit creme brulee and the Eton mess all washed down with a few gins and Spanish lager. The staff and ambiance added to a fantastic experience, we will be back and would recommend it to anyone, but make sure you book so as to avoid disappointment. See you soon Pat and Mark Garfield

We visited Woolacombe yesterday and based on the reputation of the Beach House restaurant we decided to have lunch at short notice. It was close to the end of lunch service but Scotty the chef was more than happy to take our order. Mazz was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, making a perfect partnership in a stunning location. We will return

We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of my parents who've visited multiple times and we were so thrilled that we listened to them! The staff were so welcoming, especially with our boxer dog who even had a special visit from the chef at the end of the evening, which was lovely! I'm normally quite nervous about fish/seafood but I had nothing to be worried about. To start with, we had ciabatta with aioli - very moreish! Then I went for Scallops in a delicious mushroom sauce and my partner had mackerel. For mains I had king prawn and mussels linguine (I'm normally a bit squeamish with mussels but they were delicious and juicy) and my partner had a fillet of hake. Desserts consisted of mango creme brulé and a chocolate orange melt in the middle pud. Beautiful!! We shared a beautiful bottle of wine and both had a gin at the end. I really liked the gin menu having the recommended tonic - great idea and wish more places did this. We will definitely come back again and really want to try the roast dinner on a Sunday, which we will have to book before we come down to make sure we get in! Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Two brilliant meals (yet again!) at The Beach House this week. Being a regular visitor to Woolacombe, this is our “go to” restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, great service and absolutely delicious food. Eating out with two fussy kids can be a challenge, but there’s a good children’s menu and the team show flexibility on dishes as the kids are getting older (smoked mackerel with balsamic vinegar with a side of fries may actually become a regular dish?!?). Food is cooked fresh to order and never disappoints.

I must admit - despite the great reviews, I wasn't sure about this restaurant on arrival; it didn't look much from the outside and I wasn't fussed by the choice of starters on the menu. I'm delighted we went though, as my partner and I had the Lobster and Prawn special, and it was absolutely amazing. Very high quality seafood, and a generous serving of it too, which came with salad, fries and garlic butter. It was sooo good and worth every penny. The salted caramel cheesecake was also delicious if you have a sweet tooth like me. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we left happy (and full). One slight niggle, was the toilet situation - just one bathroom for the whole restaurant, so there was always a queue. Overall though, we had a great time - highly recommend.

This all washed down with a delicious bottle of rose.Definitely recommend, definitely will be going back! Not to be missed!

Even from the booking process this place was awesome. The staff were super friendly and accommodating to my 6 year old with a dairy allergy. The food was incredible. The lobster and prawns were super tasty, the local lundy lobster stealing the show. My son had spag bol which I tried and was yummy. My daughter had the burger which was also full of flavour as I tried this too. I normally find kids meals bland but not here and extremely reasonably priced for the quality. Can’t wait to come back here. Is lovely for a family or couples and dog friendly too. Thank you to all the staff, not only was the food amazing but it was so nice to see you all smiling and happy

I almost don’t want to write this review as this place is going to become even more popular. Brilliant menu and amazing seafood dishes. Friendly staff, gluten free beer and cool interior. Nothing not to like. Had lobster and prawns dish and it was really special. A meal to remember. Dog friendly too. See you next year

We went here twice during our stay near Woolacombe. The food was delicious and the staff really friendly and accommodating. My daughter is coeliac and the staff were really knowledgeable about cross contamination and even made her gf chicken goujons for her. My husband and I both had cod with prawns, muscles in a lobster bisque and it was so good we went back and had the same dish again. Thank you!

I don’t often read or write reviews but the lunch we had today was fantastic! Some of the restaurants and bars in tourist hotspots are quite disappointing in my opinion as they always get trade in the summer season without much effort. After looking for seafood restaurants we booked lunch at the Beach house, very welcoming staff and lovely food. We all picked the food we were going to order before we arrived but the specials today included lobster and giant prawns . Going back with more friends on Thursday lunchtime as it’s been the highlight of our holiday. Even the side salad was so tasty with herbs and balsamic etc. Our best lunch for a fair while in a very chilled relaxed environment!!

Firstly, we eat out a lot and sticky tables caused by cleaning materials area a common complaint and this place was very cautious about this even holding my credit card in a cloth. Secondly, the food was gorgeous and well-presented: my dressed crab was to die for. You must book as they were turning people away all the time when we were eating.

Food was OK. Kids enjoyed chicken goujons and chips. My steak was well over done, wife said her food was ok too.Staff were lovey and attentive, couldn’t fault them at all.Location was convenient, restaurant area was very hot though, tables sticky which they said was from sanitiation treatment but never seen that in any other restaurant or public area.It was fine, and the service was better than some other places in Woolacombe, but the food isn’t as good. Tides Inn probably edges it as there food is better, but staff not as good.

We pre-booked our large family meal over 6 weeks ago and was not disappointed! The Beech house does amazing food - and the best dressed crab in Devon. The service was fantastic, the kids menu pleasing to the little ones and for the adults, we had a real foodie treat - I will certainly be looking to come back again when we next come to Woolacombe.

We ate here last year and it was exceptional, hence eating here this year. All the staff were friendly and attentive, but what was particularly nice was that the chef came out to talk to us as well. The food is of the best quality and really tasty. In one of our chats with the chef, my wife asked if there was anything I could have for pudding as I have a few annoying allergies. He went through what was on the standard menu and said that none of it would fit my allergies. He sympathised that I always ended up with fruit salad or sorbet and then came up with a suggestion for what he could make specially from the ingredients he had in the kitchen. I have to say that I was delighted. What he produced was just amazing (see the picture). Rather than feeling like a 3rd class citizen, for once I felt like someone was actually willing to go the extra mile. Thank you, you made my holiday :-)

Looks like a relaxed beach cafe but don’t be fooled it’s restaurant standard dishes and excellent food with a relaxed vibe. Visited on a Thursday afternoon in august. Booked 30 mins before but would recommend calling ahead, it’s small and busy and they don’t over crowd the restaurant. Excellent food!!! Beautifully fresh fish. We’ll balanced and nice wine. Well priced.

The understated exterior doesn’t seem to promise great things but, if you are lucky enough to have booked a table here, you’ll be in for a real treat. From the moment you are greeted by the delightful Mazz, you are in very good hands. Covid-responsible too, which I found most reassuring. And the food! All I can say is that Mazz’s colleagues in the kitchen are highly talented. Presentation and flavours absolutely sensational. I can personally recommend the smoked mackerel bruschetta starter. A wonderfully colourful and tasty warm up. And the sea bass fillet with large tiger prawn, new potatoes, soft boiled eggs and salad. The crispness of the skin on the sea bass with the soft, plump and succulent flesh underneath was cooked to perfection. Heavenly! I know too that my dining companions hugely enjoyed their dressed crab and prawn linguini respectively; certainly those dishes also looked fabulous. We rounded a superb meal in style with a rich, meltingly warm chocolate brownie cake. Just the thing to prepare us for an afternoon walk around Morte Point. When next coming to Woolacombe, we will definitely try to reserve a table here.

We pre booked before our holiday as we have eaten in this excellent restaurant previously, which was a good idea as they were fully booked all week and longer. We weren’t disappointed. The owner and staff were very friendly and offered an excellent choice of sea food, fish and meat. All of us ordered different meals which were served quickly and exactly as expected. The produce was of very high quality and each meal was cooked to perfection. We all enjoyed our meals and will visit again……..soon!A great restaurant.

We had a fantastic lunch and were well looked after by Mazz and the team. The venue is nice and airy with views of the stunning Woolacombw beach. The locally sourced seafood was superb and beautifully prepared. We had a range of food including the smoked mackerel, cod and lobster with prawns. A word of advice, the restaurant was fully booked in the evening but if you are flexible then look for a lunch/afternoon sitting. You won't be disappointed by this delightful restaurant

I joined friends for a couple of nights, who were staying locally for the week. They said that this was the best meal they had had during the week. The mussels were excellent and mackerel starter also. Everything perfectly cooked. The cod with lobster sauce and seabass "nicoise" salad also very good and yummy fries. As a Coeliac I felt very comfortable eating here and was very reassured by the staff. They also had a separate gluten free fryer so I could have chips. The mussels were served with a gluten free bread roll and were the best mussels I have had for a few years. No ill effects afterwards. As we left they mentioned that they also do a GF Sunday lunch and not just removing half of the normal gluten items ! They make GF yorkshire puddings, gravy and cauliflower cheese. Unfortunately I was leaving before then. It's not the cheapest place, most others in Woolacombe seem to be more burger and chips/pizza type places, but it was well worth it. Two courses for four people, plus 1 bottle of wine, soft drink and 1 dessert came to about £170 which I thought was good value for excellent food.

Stumbled across the cafe when we arrived in Ilfracombe and needed coffee. Quaint and characterful and clearly has it's regular customers. Coffee was good and hot but the homemade Eccles cake was amazing! The other treats looked good too. Coming across The Naked Cake cafe was the best thing about Ilfracombe which was otherwise, tatty and very down at heel.
