Por desgracia, el Ebury está ahora cerrado, después de más de 50 años. Que realmente se pierda este exclusivo bar de vinos y restaurante, pequeño y especialmente Alan, Trent y todo el resto del personal que hizo que un lugar tan acogedor.

Everything was a “miss.” The lobster crab bisque soup had no bits of lobster or crab. And tasted like nothing. Calves liver was grilled and dry. I thought organ meat should be sautéed. Spinach was good however tough. I guess it was time for this once great place to close.

The Ebury is a traditional restaurant which has been our "go to option" for many years. Conveniently situated near Victoria, the ambience is grown-up, cosy, and relaxed. The service is very good - adult professional waiting staff. The food and wine offer is modest in choice but excellently cooked and well presented. It's affordable - in fact it's very good value. So sorry that the restaurant is closing down - it will be missed.

Five of us went to the Ebury for a very enjoyable bar meal and wine after a matinee performance. I have been there on and off since the 1970s and it has never failed to satisfy. Very convenient for Victoria Coach Station so good if one has just arrived or is about to get a coach home as the bar serves food from noon onwards.

I am absolutely devastated that the Ebury is closing on 22 December. They have the best gluten-free and dairy-free menu in London. I sincerely hope that whoever takes over, if anybody does, carries on that great tradition. All the staff, but particularly Alan, have been absolutely charming over the years. There is no other restaurant in London that has such a unique decor. Again, it will be such a shame if a new owner changes the feel of the restaurant, which is a little gem for not only those who live in the neighbourhood but for people like me, who need seriously good GF and dairy-free choices rather than just a token attempt to offer something suitable.

We went to the Ebury for a long over due date night and had the most wonderful evening. We were looked after so well by the staff and enjoyed really delicious food. The restaurant was full yet staff had time to talk to guests and make them feel at home while making sure their order was taken promptly and drinks always full. The venison was outstanding. We shared a cheesecake - a recommendation and certainly worth it! Thank you again for making it such a special evening.

The most wonderful evening yesterday at this gem of a restaurant whose standards, if that were ever possible, have improved yet again, but perhaps that's because we were all so much looking forward to dining there after being abroad for so long. Located on Ebury Street close to Victoria Station this restaurant and wine bar has everything one could ask for. A varied menu for just sitting at the bar and enjoying some light food or dining in a very pleasant dining room that is intimate and private for those who want that or open for larger groups of 6-8.The menu has quite an extensive selection and variety of wines to please anyone. The food and presentation was exactly what one would expect. The service was quick enough to explain the menu and options and get your drinks but not in a hurried manner. The price point was slightly higher than average but well worth the little extra. The one noticeable difference on the bill was a 12.5% optional service charge. That was something we had not seen in our travels through Europe or the UK over the years and it was also on bills on some other restaurants in the area.As mentioned it was optional. This is a restaurant that is recommended for anyone who wants to have great quiet enjoyable meal with some fine wine and enjoy the companionship of ones partner.

Have been meaning to pop in and try The Ebury Wine bar and the occasion of a friend's birthday proved an ideal opportunity. There is a wonderfully confident but relaxed atmosphere in the place that immediately puts you at your ease. You know straightway that you'll be well looked after; every member of staff engaged in genuine chat with the customers and not that which had been learned on a training course!! The food was excellent, couldn't fault it at all and it was refreshing to see am end that wasn't pandering to the latest trendy fad. They know exactly what their customers like and want and deliver it with aplomb. The prices aren't steep either, for London, two course dinner with wine and pre dinner drinks for three of us came to £150 and I certainly don't begrudge a penny. They've been here since 1959 I believe and in the nicest possible way, it shows. It's settled, comfy, familiar in a clubby sort of way, but not fusty or run down nor relying on past glories. It's still fresh and raring to go, - visit if you can!!

We were staying at the Lime Tree a wonderful hotel next door to the Ebury Restaurant and Wine Bar. Our hotel had highly recommended this restaurant to us. At first, we were reluctant to try it because after a day of visiting the sites we didn't think we were dressed for a nice restaurant. Then we saw there were 2 areas, one more casual than the other. We ate there twice. We ordered off the bar menu. The food was great. We had the steak sandwich, the Ebury Burger, and the Fish and Chips. All were prepared nicely and tasted very good. We were pleased with the service. The Bar men were all friendly and helpful. They took our orders at the table which at many places you have to order at the bar. We didn't get to try the restaurant area, next time!

Staff who were very nice did their best and explained that the kitchen was backed up and took off the puddings and service from the bill. I thought the food was an eye-opener, everyone loved what they had. My daughters' chicken schnitzel was plump and juicy with perfect seasoning and the other starters showed off real talent in the kitchen! I would love to come back and sample other things. Our waitress was really well-informed about the dishes, was interesting to talk to and very thoughtful and patient with our children, organising the high chair, plates for sharing half portions, a million napkins, the normal stuff you need for children. Five stars! Actually due to a communication mix-up I didn't get what I ordered, but it didn't matter because the kitchen puts out great fare and she was a nice person. The wine list seemed judiciously chosen too, we loved the rioja. The street the Ebury is in is a charming part of Belgravia. Unfortunately, the restaurant seems to have a policy of no noise by children, only by adults! Kind of 'Children should be seen and not heard' in that British way (I am British). The staff shushed our children from across the room! I have never encountered anything like it in my travels around the world, only now that I get back to London. Imagine my embarrassment and confusion in front of my Portuguese wife, who was spitting with rage. When our 4-year-old or our 15-month-old baby turned up the volume, whichever members of staff were in earshot would chorus "Shh" shamelessly and in unison! One could argue that the Ebury is a wine bar and a restaurant, and in the UK we might think a wine bar is no place for children. I don't actually agree, and nor do the Spaniards, Portuguese and Italians who have children popping in and out of all hostelries serving gorgeous food and wine, and everyone makes the noise they like. Tantrums come out of lack of freedom so it is actually counter-productive. My conclusion: come to the Ebury for the food, wine and service, don't bring any children, unless you can handle the mixed message of welcoming / unwelcoming treatment by the staff.

Many moons ago, The Ebury Wine Bar served the local market. I am reliably informed, by the school friend I had dinner there with on Friday, that back in the 1960s it had been one of London's best pick up joints!Be that as it may, by the time I moved to Pimlico in 1986 it was, brilliantly, combining a very successful wine bar with a restaurant with a thoroughly eclectic menu, excellent service and decor. If you want to know what I mean by eclectic, within less than 2 years they introduced Londoners to kangaroo steak and the infamous Scottish Deep Fried Mars Bars!I knew there had been major changes before I even entered on Friday, for my 1st visit after 10 years overseas. The side door, the main restaurant entrance, was closed. Going in through the bar entrance, the restaurant had been extended to take over the majority of the bar area. What was left was in no way viable as a successful wine bar.In the past the bar and restaurant were roughly equal in size. The restaurant had the decor. The wine bar provided the ambiance. It was very easy to go there intending only to eat, but end up drinking, or vice versa. On Friday, there was 1 person eating at the bar and nobody else in what remains of the bar. The main restaurant area was decently close to being full, but all of the extra new tables were unoccupied. It is important to be precise here. The food was just as good as it ever has been. The service has always been excellent and still is. The decor in the restaurant and middle areas still work well. In short, the restaurant works thoroughly well on its own terms. It is just sad that what was a very successful local enterprise, where the whole was worth much more than the sum of its parts, now seems to attract mostly tourists and long weekenders from the provinces.

I sent them an email back in February rather than post a review on trip advisor and they didn't bother to respond to that so here it is:Hello, I thought I would send my feedback by email rather than litter TripAdvisor and alike as they're not the most constructive platforms for providing reviews but I felt the need to provide some feedback for you.On the whole, the food, the main reason for going was great. But the battered fish which we had two of was ever so bland and the scallops and pork belly had no flavour of scallops. Even when I ate one of the scallops on its own, without the overpowering belly (which was really good) did not taste at all of scallop. Frozen? We were also hungry when we came in, very hungry, and with the smaller than usual protions, which I understand makes the dish look nicer when it's not overcrowded on a plate, were not sufficient for everyone unless there was bread to go along side. The prices for food at your restaurant aren't exactly low and felt that free bread along the way and as soon as we got to the table would have been justifiable, but there wasn't any. We had to pay £5 for a small selction with minimal oilive oil and balsamic vinegar which just about gave enough liquid for two bits of bread, let alone the whole basket. My parents went for the set menu but were not offered their complimentary glass of Prosecco until the end of the meal which was prpobbaly to prevent us from not buyng a bottle of wine. Then the cheese came out, which was very nice, good quality cheese, but it was cold. It shouldn't be. It should be room temperature to allow the aromas and flavour to come out.And it was rather unusual to see so many people in your restaurant with scraves on for the entire time they were in the restaurant. Not everyone, but enough people to warrant turning up the temperature a little maybe?Overall I was quite disapointed as it was my birthday and having been before and been bowled over by everything to then be let down tremendously while still paying the same higher prices.I think a lot could have been done to prevent this from happening with some of the above basic in terms of running a successful restaurant. I don;t like leaving reviews like this online as we could have just been very unlucky, and maybe because of the new menu? We paid full price for a new menu which clearly hadn;t been tasted or tested well enough by the people who work there otherwise I would have been able to taste the scallops or some favour added to the battered cod. It's a beautiful venue with friendly staff, but I can't say I'd recomend this restaurnt due to the longer than usual list of things above. If there are any questions you'd like to ask me then by all means do get back to me.Kind regardsBooked in at 7:30 on Saturday 11th Feb. Table for 4.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Ebury to us. It was a fairly short walk from Buckingham Palace Rd. We were a bit early for dinner so we were told we should make a reservation since there was limited seating. We returned after 20 mins. beyond our reservation time but we were seated immediately. There was a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the restaurant. We were seated in the main eating area and our waiter was very engaging and helpful. My wife and I ordered two completely separate meals. I had the lamb chops with chick peas and lintels and she ordered a soup and Vegetable ravioli. We thoroughly enjoyed both meals, I think I enjoyed mine a bit more, however, but we weren't keeping count. Cost was reasonable and the value was excellent.

The wait staff were excellent and very friendly. The Restaurant was not busy so we were able to admire the quirky artwrok on the walls and read some of the interesting book spines. Not a huge menu but enough to satisfy all including the vegetarians. The Sesame crusted sea bass, wilted pak choi, cucumber and chilli dressing was delicious as too the cheese cake. The cheese board had a nice selection and the burger was well seasoned and tasty. They have a good wine menu too.

My 81 year old aunt was at Buckingham Palace today to receive an MBE. We went to Ebury Restaurant and Wind Bar for our evening meal. The staff were most attentive and even came out to meet us to assist my aunt into the restaurant and to her seat. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and whats more, was very sensibly priced. They also happily accommodated two family members who unfortunately arrived late!I have no hesitation in recommending the Ebury and would certainly return, if we are ever back in this area of the City.Thank you for a lovely evening.Jane McCallum

Last time I visited this place , it was just a wine bar and 40 years ago!! Whilst larger it still has a lovely atmosphere and the £30.00 lunch menu (inc. a glass of Prosecco) was delicious.

We came here with friends for lunch during the Chelsea Flower Show week. Staff were pleasant and the service was quick and efficient. We had the buffalo mozzarella and sun blushed ravioli, which was a generous main course and delicious, and our friends thoroughly enjoyed their Risotto Primavera. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a spot of lunch.

I stopped here with my girlfriend to eat a burger at the bar. although we asked for it medium they brought it burnt. In exchange they offered 25% off however, I would have preferred to cook it properly...Never again.

My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant twice during our visit to London in 2014, and made it a must return during our short stay in London this year. This neighborhood establishment is a treasure. The food is superb and the staff friendly and attentive. My wife is on a strict gluten free diet, and the Ebury has a dedicated gluten free menu. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We were staying up the street a bit and decided to give it a go. This is a charming place with tasty food. I had the lamb chops which were perfectly prepared and my husband had the fish entree, also delicious. With a bottle of wine and a small starter, it was a lovely meal.

We stopped here for dessert, sticky toffee pudding, on our way back from dinner. Our hotel, the Lime Tree is right next door. The pudding was VERY medicocre and my husband did not think much of his cappuccino. We were glad we had not opted for a full meal here.

This is one of my victoria favourites. Always manage to get squeezed into the bar area when turn up on spec (can't book the bar) and food is consistently good. Reasonable sized portions that aren't going to leave you overly full and god quality food. Lamb burger is always a good choice.Waiters are polite and attentive but not overly in your face

Food and service cannot be beat! The location is perfect for a nice meal especially if one is staying in one of the many B&Bs on Ebury Street!

From what I understand this restaurant has been running since 1959 and the owner met his wife there, so its not exactly a 'pump and dump' venue, it's much more authentic and historical than that. We were the 'allergy table', with both gluten and citrus a no-no, and an excellent gluten-free menu. Not many people understand the citrus thing, you'd be surprised how many restaurants we've visited and laboured the point: no lemon, no orange, and no lime, only for my husband to go home and suffer. Our waiter, Phillipe, went out of his way to ensure no offending ingredients crept into my husband's food (you'd be surprised what's lurking in things) and with his highly tuned sense of smell was able to rescue my husband from a near disaster with citrus. Apart from that, the food was lovely, the wine list extensive and we were pleasantly surprised when one of the owners came over to put things right, and even more surprised when the bill arrived and they had generously put things right. You don't get that kind of service every day and I can see why they have earned such a solid reputation.

Quality food, beautifully presented, and nice wine selection and well crafted cocktails. We could not have a better dinner for our last night in London. The 3 course menu with a glass of prosceco for 30 pounds was just right.

We had a wonderful meal at the Ebury Wine Bar tonight! The duck, lamb cutlets, ravioli, wine, and cocktails were excellent. Steven and the rest of the staff were delightful. We could not have been more pleased. The entire evening was a pleasure from start to finish. We have eaten at many fine restaurants in England and elsewhere, and we're very happy to recommend the Ebury.

I tried to eat here many times because it was right next to my hotel but we were always coming back from the theater and they would be closing at 10! I did have a late lunch here finally and the staff was very attentive, the food was very good but nothing that warrants a slap on the back! They just seemed like they could take our business or not, it didn't matter to them. :-/

Ebury has received many very positive reviews and for good reason - the dining room is quaint and comfortable (the walls have painted murals decorating them), there's a decent selection of wines by the glass, service is most friendly and efficient and the food is pretty good. The front area of the space has a rather spartan wine bar which is generally quite busy. In behind is the restaurant and with several wooden dividers between tables so it's quite easy to have some privacy. Our appetizers were very good. - the salt cod cakes ( three small "balls" which were golden and crispy) and the pear, goat cheese and spinach salad (a large portion) - as were our entrees. I had the hake which was nicely cooked and resting on a bed of grilled mushrooms and mushroom paste. The restaurant is a very short walk from Sloan Square and Victoria Station.
