Jim the manager was so kind & helpful. The sausage rolls were yummy as was the Aspinalls cider!! Felt very welcome & we were brought a cold glass of water on arrival as the weather was so hot & sunny. Lovely old english pub with helpful welcoming staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Jim 🤗

The loveliest little pub! We had a wonderful lunch here. The gluten free fish and chips were A++ and Jim took such wonderful care of us.

Best beef burger I think I’ve ever had, Jim was lovely he had amazing service, highly recommend for everyone to check this spot out!!

What a delightful experience. Popped in yesterday on the off chance. Despite it being busy we were served very quickly. Efficient staff and amazing fish and chips! The 2 people behind the bar took such good care of us. Can't wait to come back and try the sticky toffee.

Love this tavern. It was our first time here and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and had a good variety of choices. We split chicken pie (kiev) and a starter with cheese and honey and bread. It was all fantastic and fresh. Well done. Kudos to the chef. We got there around 3:30 and it wasn't crowded, but by the time we left there weren't many seats left. Get there early. Highly recommend.

We didn't eat there. We visited a couple of times over the London Marathon weekend. It's got a lovely atmosphere. It serves a selection of good beers which are well kept. Give it a try!

We enjoyed our meals and our drinks. The pub was not overcrowded or loud allowing us to communicate easily. The premises is located a short walk from Buckingham palace. A good experience overall

The 2 guys were great. The food however wasnt the best. Huge piece of haddock which had no taste. Batter soggy. Tartare sauce was very bland. Thought it would be like traditional fish and chips with chunky chips but thin and over cooked chips. Very dissapointing for our stay in London.

We were on our way to explore London discoverining this little hidden gem! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and Aga and Jim were nice and attentive hosts! Food looks and tastes great too! Highly recommended if you want to avoid the crowds. Nice place both for drinks with friends gathering and dinner en deux! We will be back for sure. Well done guys.

This pub has completely changed the way that i see drinking culture. The closeness the warmth amd the the integrity if the staff with service has completely turned around what i thought pubs were capable of in this place.. i found a home. Its great i love it. My service was 10/10. They were so nice to me i was so comfortable and i was treated like a VIP i thought “damn i am going to come back every week”

Lovely traditional pub with friendly service. Good choice of drinks, including non-alcholic options. Would recommend booking in advance for food. The Sunday roast was good but not amazing. The gravy was far too watery, and the food could have been much hotter. This let it down! They also have highchairs and offered to bring an extra plate for our toddler without us asking!

Visited from Texas and we love a cold beer, so we truly enjoyed the cold Camden Hells and cozy atmosphere. Customer service was top notch and the meal was delicious and hit the comfort food spot. Shout out to Jim the bartender who made us feel welcome and whose politeness and kindness we will never forget when thinking of London.

Me and my wife stopped in here and it was absolutely incredible. The fish and chips were outstanding 10 out of 10 recommended. Also Jim was so awesome and friendly we didn't want to leave even though we had tickets to a show we had to go to. Jim you are the best! Thanks for a great time.

This place was great. 10/10. Me and my family were looking for a classic pub to eat Sunday roast during our trip to London, needless to say, this place blew our socks off. The roast? Ridiculously good. We got the roast with the pork, lamb, beef and chicken. The service? Ridiculously good, Big Ups to Jim, best management and service around, made sure that we were taken care of. In total we got the roast, bangers and mash, and two sticky toffee puddings. Easily fed family of four. 11/10. This place was incredible. (Best place we have eaten at during our trip.) Thank you guys for such a great Sunday night dinner experience! Will be coming back here next time we visit. Thank you Jim for the great experience!!!!

Stopped in on a saturday after touring buckingham palace nearby. Light weekend crowd and perfect spot for a pint. Bartender let my friend have a peroni glass -- his fav beer.

What a gem of a pub. Tucked away from the hassle and bustle of Green Park. We were presented with a beautiful pints of real ale and delicious Guinness and stake pies. What a treat! Food 5* which is rare for a pub those days I must say. The service 5* as well. We didn’t get the name of the barman unfortunately but he was very helpful and all smiles. 100% recommend and definitely coming back.

Came here after a long stroll in St James's Park. A little pub-gem! Lovely decor, great atmosphere and service was fantastic! Bruno, the bartender, was very friendly and his recommedation were spot on! There's a great selection of real ales too. My partner and I both decided to go for a pie: the chicken, gammon & leek one and Guinness slow braised beef & mushroom pie. Both served with mash, greens and gravy. And the sticky toffee pudding was a cherry on the top to end a lovely day in London for two tourists. You must visist!

It’s just not good. The pie was dry af and unfortunately the pudding didn’t save the situation.

I went because I wanted to try traditional British food!! I loved it so much that I went three times during my week in London! I had shepherd's pie twice, and had leek pie, French fries, and wine. The portions were plentiful and delicious... The atmosphere was great, and I guess it's a local restaurant. There are a lot of people even during the day!! And if you go at night, the atmosphere is really great... The staff are very friendly and took good care of me even though I was the only Asian... When I went during the day, there were quite a few Asians ☺️ I ordered a main, drink, and dessert, and it was so nice that they waited for me to eat everything and brought me a hot dessert right after I finished eating it... Good sense!!

Absolutely brilliant food in a pub less than five minutes from Buckingham Palace and Westminster. We went after my friend's MBE ceremony! On a Tuesday lunchtime it was almost empty, but the service, beer and food (pub classics, done brilliantly) were all excellent. Around £17-20 for a main meal.

This is my favorite pub, hands down. Been back three times and would be back more if we were going to be here longer. Amazing drinks, food, staff, company, music and overall vibe. Quick trip with friends from California to see ABBA Voyage show, and met new local friends...was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed here. Please visit— you will not be sorry!!!

It was a wet and cold evening and 30 runners met at this pub to go for a 7km run around the nearby park and squares. The staff were very helpful accommodating us all and keeping the excellent beer flowing after our return. A great atmosphere . Thanks for looking after us ...we shall return!

Been here several times and what a great little find in Central London. We all know it is a challenge to find proper british pubs where the service the location and the food is also great. THIS IS ONE!!! As soon as Im walking through the door the bartender greets me. They recognise me and even know what is my usual drink. That is such a nice thing and you don't usually get this kind of service in a busy London bar! Full with locals.

Mice running around, rude stuff

Awesome little boozer, right near the big sightseeing spots, but slightly hidden away- so got the authentic pub experience without being a tourist trap. Pie was great, and the guys that served us were good lads. Will visit again when next in the area 💯

We popped in for a quick beer whilst doing a bit of sight seeing in the first week of January. As it was bitterly cold outside, we ended up staying a couple of hours and ate from the Set January Menu. We both opted for the Minestrone Soup and the Chicken Leg Chassuer, both of which were warming and delightful. We skipped dessert, but settled for a couple of glasses of Shiraz before we headed home. The pub itself is spacious, airy, clean and incredibly warm and friendly. We are definitely returning for Sunday Lunch soon.

Amazing Sunday roast, compliments to chef.

From the moment you step through the doors, the warm and welcoming atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. The star of the show here is undoubtedly their Sunday Roast. Each plate is a work of art — perfectly roasted meats with a choice of beef, lamb, chicken, or a delightful vegetarian nut roast for non-meat eaters. The beef, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, practically melts in your mouth, while the lamb is tender and flavorful. The accompaniments are just as impressive. Crispy, golden roast potatoes that are fluffy on the inside, Yorkshire puddings that are light and airy, and an assortment of seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection.

We literally stumbled in to this place on a cold and rainy afternoon and thought we would have a pint or two. Then we saw the beautiful plates of food coming out of the kitchen and decided to give it a try. The Sunday roast menu was EVERYTHING we could have asked for. Three different plates, all delicious from the meat to the potatoes, carrots, savoy cabbage and thos Yorkshire pudding…so good. Save room for sticky toffee pudding. Wish i could teleport there every Sunday!

This pub is a fantastic hidden gem in the heart of Westminster and a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace. With a friendly and very attentive staff, and definitely one of the best Sunday Roasts that money can buy, it is well worth a visit. They always serve an interesting selection of Ales and cold Lagers. The atmosphere is great as they always have a good selection of music but not too loud. Highly recommend a visit.

Beautiful place.. An environment that makes you feel like you're in the London area. Really very beautiful. Excellent table service, the girl was very smiling, courteous and kind. Really excellent appetizer. Hamburger sandwich not exceptional in my opinion gives value to the place. Another dish we tried instead was with mashed potatoes and a pie filled with stewed meat.. With a truly exceptional accompanying sauce.. Really excellent. We didn't have the opportunity to try the fish and chips but from what we saw I must say that perhaps it will be one of the strong dishes of the place... Absolutely worth trying. For dessert, a brownie accompanied by a very good salted caramel ice cream. The only flaw that absolutely needs to be corrected is the waiting times, we finished our meal consisting of a shared starter and another course with a dessert to finish in more than 2 hours and 20 minutes. In my opinion the waiting times are too long. A special compliment to the kindness of the waitress

A great atmospheric pub whose history dates back to 1780. Delicious food and an incredible plus in my case was the Gluten-Free fish. Fast and friendly service. Despite the very central location, next to Buckingham Palace, I noticed that there are a lot of local customers, which only adds to the atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice pub that isn't a tourist trap, I definitely recommend it!
