Absoloutely divine Wagyu beef. Staff were very busy but still had an excellent time.

The food was delicious, the personal attention was really good.

There are several branches of Eat Tokyo in London and they all offer tasty Japanese food at reasonable prices. I used to live in Japan and find the food at Eat Tokyo to be very authentic and of good quality. However, the Notting Hill branch has to be my favourite. What sets it apart is the excellent service by Nobuko San and the entire team. Everyone is very friendly, professional and welcoming. They also have on the menu some dishes which I could not find at the other branches, such as the Buta Kakuni and Hanpen Cheese Fried. I definitely recommend Eat Tokyo if you want to eat authentic Japanese food at a decent price. I will definitely continue to be a regular customer.

I love Eat Tokyo not necessary for sushi and sashimi. There are so many items that you can’t find in most Japanese restaurants in London.

I come to this place regularly with friends and family (I also had dinner here today). Everything we ate here was very tasty and beautifully presented. The service was fast. The staff was friendly, polite, very attentive. Thank you very much - we will remain regular customers. We recommend this place to anyone who loves really good food.

Inattentive and slow service. My friend was forced to show her ID when she did not order any drinks. Staff was unable to justify this on site.

Food was excellent, the sushi tastes pretty authentic and fresh in terms of the freshness of the fish and the rice wasn’t hard at all. Their bento boxes are a good affordable option for people who want to get full on a budget due to the variety of different sections provided. I absolutely enjoy eating their chicken katsu bento and the portion sizes are great value for money. It can get quite busy, when I went there was only two people on the shop floor in the upstairs area but it was a great affordable place.

Oh my gosh it was so delicious and so fast and not really that expensive at all. The Bento boxes were massive and super duper filling. Anything on this menu will be a hit I guarantee it.

Very disappointing service and food. The staff asked us to empty the table in 15min in the middle of dinner because they have reservation after. But we never heard about it before we order food and they changed their words after we double check. I really wonder if they will ask other table to empty their table to get more costumers? Each of us spent more than 40 and it's absolutely not a quality of service I deserved. I really wonder is it because we were all asain womens?😂😂 For nabe, I don't think it worths for 37pounds. I tried to understand because it is wakyu meat but I don't see any taste point of it. And tempura jyu doesn't have even saltness and it's not the same quality from the other Eat Tokyo. Cozy little Japanese place with fresh sushi and a massive menu.

Phenomenal Japanese restaurant with great food. Although I could not spot even ONE person working in the restaurant who was Japanese (or at least who I thought looked Japanese), it makes up for it with its authenticity and staff who shout “irashaimasen!” when you enter and “arigatou gozaimasu!” when you leave. Will definitely be back 🙏🏼

This is my favourite go-to sushi place in London. I’ve been a regular customer for over a decade and this place never fails to disappoint on quality and tastiness. It’s always wise to book a table in advance especially during the dinner rush hour period. Luckily there is the Champion pub further along across the road where you can purchase a drink and wait until a table is available perhaps. I’ve been to the chain in Soho and I believe this one in Notting Hill is by far superior. I love that the menu is extensive with pictures and offers a lot of selection. My favourite dishes are the Fried oysters, cuttlefish nigiri (Ika), homemade udon noodles, sashimi plate with scallops. There is also a great selection of bento boxes available. Defo go and try if you have not already.

Always a pleasure dining in this place! The staff are nice and the food is good value for money. Simply delectable bento and a wide variety of sushi and sashimi!

Great place to catch some Japanese food at real reasonable prices. A big bento box is £10.00. It’s so worth it. The food here is very good and very authentic.

This is the first time I visited this branch, compared to the rest this branch was way below average. The food was not that great, gyudon that we had tasted something other than gyudon - did they replace dashi with oyster sauce?? Karragae didn't come with Japanese mayo (paid extra and it's just normal mayo). Salmon don was fresh though, that I would recommend. Service was polite but rushed - I got that please GTFO vibe as soon as I was done eating.

Visit date: August 26, 2024 The taste is the same as in Japan. Some of the staff are Japanese. It is very effective for the stomachs of Japanese people who are tired from traveling to foreign countries.

This was the worst bento box I have ever had, and I have had many including in Japan. Hardly any side dishes to it. The fried tofu was full of water. Disgusting.

This place didn’t let wheelchair customer to have a lunch on ground level with being rude and asking to have a lunch on lower ground level, where they want me take the stairs down. Their excuse was that they closing ground level for break. That’s bad service. I have attended at 1pm just FYI!

Food is as expected not too bad, however service is the worst I’ve seen in a Eat Tokyo store in London. Staff is unprofessional and is extremely rude when trying to order for no reason at all.

One main course arrived before the starters, then two starters followed up , two main courses still missing, etc. either Kitchen can not follow through orders or waitress issue. Paid for the service that was appalling as per above. Food quality is good, busy place.

We were really excited to visit Eat Tokyo after months of being away but was extremely disappointed and both ended up feeling very sick. First of all, on a very humid day, we were seated upstairs with no air con (even though there is air con downstairs and it wasn’t even near full). The heat was unbearable and we had to leave after 20 minutes. Service was polite as usual and we were served very quickly. Unfortunately, there were multiple disappointments in the meal. I ordered my plum wine as usual, but this time they had changed the brand (the drink used to be white and light but this time it’s pink). It smelt horrible and tasted cheap but for the same price. Secondly, the oyaku gyu wasn’t made to look like the photo, and the egg felt like it was made in a rush instead of simmered. We decided to leave without finishing, spending about £20 each. Very disappointed, might not visit this branch again :(

They've got lobster specials on the menu that are awful. So overcooked it's hard to chew. Their normal food is still decent though

Eat Tokyo in Notting Hill is a delightful Japanese restaurant that certainly lives up to its reputation. Despite being packed on a Tuesday afternoon, our reservation ensured we were seated promptly. The ambiance was lively, underscoring the restaurant's popularity. The staff were incredibly gentle, smiling, and friendly, immediately making us feel welcome. They provided fresh iced water and offered helpful advice on menu selections, enhancing our dining experience. We opted for bento boxes and beers. The portions were generous, and the pricing was very reasonable. For instance, a katsu chicken bento box was just £10, an excellent value for the quality and quantity of food provided. Our total bill came to £70, which we found quite reasonable given the overall experience. They do charge for service, for us was like £8 which is reasonable for 4 of us and the service was attentive. In summary, Eat Tokyo is highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine in Notting Hill. Just be sure to book in advance to avoid the wait!

Best experience at an Eat Tokyo so far! Came for a meal to celebrate a birthday so we went all out (will note that they don’t offer anything special for birthdays - but the wait staff wished us a happy birthday and kindly offered a dessert menu). We got the party boat, and a couple of hot dishes to share and all of that easily filled the three of us up. We saw a poster of the matcha beer at the end of our meal and had to try it. I actually highly recommend it - the flavours go together really nicely! The staff were all really lovely too, especially our waitress who was from Taiwan and encouraged us to visit the country. I really reccomend calling in and booking in advance to avoid disappointment as the lines for walk-in can get long. Probably my favourite Eat Tokyo location so far and will definately have to come back for the matcha beers!

Beautiful restaurant. A very varied menu, for every taste and money. I tried beef sushi for the first time and it was very tasty. The staff is nice, but they constantly removed something from our table and at the end asked us to leave because they had a line. It is unpleasant

Malith was great, he was so attentive, although I had a different server seat us, he helped us a few times and he was so great, very pleasant and always smiling, come back to check with us if we need anything. I came here about 10 times and this has to be the best service I’ve had and It’s definitely because if him.

Lack of vegan options from the meny, most of the meny was unavailable. Waiter was not willing to ask the chef for options. No communication possible with the kitchen. Service fee unfortunately included in the bill.

Reasonably priced and tasty Japanese food. Tempura was crispy and not oily. Pork katsu was a tad tough though, not a fan.

Come here often but it’s not the first time for me waiting for my dish for almost an hour. It’s really disrespectful to let customer waiting for their food with no feedback and no apologies.

Decent place, I wouldn’t say brilliant 70% authentic but reasonable in terms of food quality and money. Great variety of choices from sashimi to curry and udon and tempura. Also good range of sake, plum wine and Japanese beer. The restaurant has ground floor and basement. There is a sushi bar table in the basement that I would like to try next time.

IF YOU HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN EATING HERE. Menu showcased a variety of food options ( 20 plus paged menu) alongside ingredients underneath each dish listed. There were also numbers next to each dish, it was only later when I realised this was relating to an allergen/further ingredients listed on another page in the menu. All dishes should list every ingredient/allergen next to the dish to avoid any confusion. I will not be going back !

The food is a 6 out of 10. The waiter for our table was good. The host in the basement floor was incredibly rude, refused to believe I was eating at the restaurant, implied I came off the street to use their facilities then lied about coming upstairs and not seeing me at a table. Incredibly unpleasant experience to have with x2 young children in tow. Will never go back.

For its price, it’s a lot and still good. I am recommending to order the bento set because you get variety of side dishes (salad, 2 maki sushi, and miso soup). The portion also very good

The new staff are so miserable. The original staff are the only ones that I can see taking the role in hospitality. For the pricing and reputation that Eat Tokyo have for their food it seems to have gone down hill. A clear divide that some staff are just there to be there and those that are just there because they wanna clock in and clock out. If you don’t wish to work in hospitality I’d strongly suggest a different industry or role. Food was good, pricing is fair and there should be some sort of ambience if you’re charging service charge and better attitudes from new staff. I saw a lady in her 70s paying for her bill and one of the staff members aggressively took her card and tapped on the card machine. No thank you. No manners. No respect.

We went to eat Tokyo in notting hill cuz we have been to their franchise many time but this one was the worst experience we ever had. The staff were super rude and cold hearted. Maybe I was a gay guy with makeup me and my partner did not feel welcome. Food is good but the waiter and their hospitality I wouldn’t even try to rate them. The waiter didn’t even try to check on us or when we order something would reply back just would take the order and leave with angry face. Few waiters were rolling their eyes and and just staring which made us really uncomfortable. Didn’t want to pay service charge cuz it was horrendous but paid for the chef cuz food was amazing as usual.

We always enjoy Eat Tokyo. Excellent menu, good food and reasonable prices. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten free.

This place just never fails. Been here plenty of times, probably advisable to book in advance however they have always done their best to accommodate us. Food always fresh & on point. Lovely munch! I recommend this spot for Japanese food/sushi if you’re in the area. The matcha layered cake & Icecream are to die for!

The value is always great, katsu curry is absolutely massive and taste good. The service can be quite slow when busy but great place for cheap Japanese food.

Udon soup, vegetable tempura faultless; gindara misoyaki very slightly undercooked but still very good. Food quality way beyond what you'd expect from price point and decorative budget.

Order A5 wagu nigiri. This place has to be one of worst places I visited in a long time. Disgusting chewy beef completely inedible. Spat out the fist peace and left rest 🤮

Really love the food here. I've been to a few branches around London but this one is by far my favourite - I always come around whenever I have the chance Good and warm service provided by the staff and the quality of the food is superb. Very good value for money! I've tried a lot of their different dishes over the past few years. The curry and bentos are really good if you're eating on your own and there's a good variety in them. The chef's special bowl that has pork cheek is incredible - it's slow cooked, reminds me to the meat my grandpa used to cook when I was younger. If you're coming with other people and wish to order sushi, I'd recommend the party boat alongside a special roll or 2 :) Sometimes waiting time can be a bit long (30-40 mins) at peak times but it's normal since it's so popular - worth the wait every time!

Absolutely delicious Japanese food at a reasonable price, which is hard to find in London! I thoroughly recommend the Jyu boxes (sashimi and rice, with miso soup on the side), the Geso-kara (insanely good value for what you get), and the Hyper Roll. They have a massive menu, which can be a red flag, but I haven’t found anything that disappointed me so far! Will be coming back again.

Lovely little restaurant; the atmosphere downstairs is very cozy and perfect for eating with friends or family. 4 stars rather than 5 as the vegetable bento (which I ordered) was marked vegetarian on their menu but staff informed me that the agedashi tofu and miso soup in the meal both contain fish (also not marked with the allergen). Our waitress did let me know before I’d eaten and removed the items; still paid full price for the meal which I understand is out of their control.

My auntie and I loved it here, the food was amazing value for money. We had sushi and bento boxes. Very popular spot, casual dining, delicious food. The Japanese manager in the kimono was so kind and friendly. Absolutely will be returning again.

Eat tokyo has never failed me.I have been here about ten times and every time I just taste absolute yumminess.The bento boxes are a bargain,and you will regret of you dont try one of these boxes.Miso soup is TOTALLY worth the price.The smell,the taste is just fantastic.Absolutely reccomend
