Always a great place to dine. I've never had a bad meal here and pints are a reasonable price too

They refused access to toilets to a pregnant woman, I'm super scandalised of this way to treat people. Never go again, really disappointed

There are several branches of Eat Tokyo in London and they all offer tasty Japanese food at reasonable prices. I used to live in Japan and find the food at Eat Tokyo to be very authentic and of good quality. However, the Notting Hill branch has to be my favourite. What sets it apart is the excellent customer service provided by Nobuko San and the entire team. Everyone is very friendly, professional and welcoming. The menu at Eat Tokyo is extensive and varied. They have everything from sashimi / sushi to various bento boxes. They also have some dishes which you cannot find at other branches, such as the Buta Kakuni and Hanpen Cheese Fried. I definitely recommend Eat Tokyo if you want to eat authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price. I will definitely continue to be a happy, regular customer.

amazing prices for london and i will be back because of that, however sashimi in the chirashi don was not that fresh. especially the tuna which had a strong fishy taste and the tobikko tasted funky too. otherwise really large portions, fast service and the spicy salmon roll was good

Best service since sliced bread!

I stopped for an early dinner on a Monday evening. Big restaurant. Clean. Busy at the time despite it being early. Huge menu. You can page it for hours! A lot of variety and very reasonably priced. My Tuna Teriyaki Bento was only £10.00. Very good value. Came with miso soup as well. Nicely presented and very generous. Food comes out quite quickly. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Efficient service. Would recommend.

On my second visit to Eat Tokyo Notting Hill, I was fortunate to get a seat quickly without having to queue. On my first visit, however, I had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The key takeaway? Visit during off-peak hours—somewhere between lunch and dinner. As for the food, I have no complaints, especially when considering the price-to-quantity ratio. You can get a full salmon teriyaki bento set for just £10, which is excellent value. The service was also impressive—the staff refilled tap water, and the food arrived quickly.

I understand the hype! Great food, super fresh & excellent value for money. Good vegetarian options & the restaurant was absolutely buzzing on a Tuesday evening! We were stuffed and only paid £20 each- for 2 mains, 2 apps and 2 drinks. Stunning

I feel like my day couldn’t go any worse I got over charged in 2 separate places. Services was terrible, got the wrong order, miso soup was cold and came out mid meal. Workers were rude (not all). Guy told us you can max pay with 4 cards and I’ve worked hospitality I know you can do more. Shame because I’ve been many times and the service was never this bad

Really enjoyed my food here. Service was nice, the staff is friendly. The salmon felt a little old, it had a sharp bite to it because of the same. The ebnto box portion is large, I was not able to finish it so had to take it to go. Decent place.

Good place for a quick noodle or rice. Miso soup really good and the pork cheeks were well cooked and flavoursome. Service a bit slow. Gets super busy with people queueing up the stairs (which tells you something). Will definitely go back.

Great food as always. Can't complain about that, but the wait for a table could have been made easier and more efficient if they had someone checking on how many diners are in each group. If there's a table for two, but all the groups ahead of you are asking for tables for 4 or 6 , then it shouldn't be a long wait for you if you want a table for two. The problem is that the waiter ignores this fact and you see empty tables for 2 paxs as you sit down. This issue was dealt with nicely in the Soho outlet but not in this outlet.

One of the best value for money sushi restaurants you will find. Been many times and they are consistently good with quality of food and portion sizes. Highly recommend.

Great place for Japanese food. A bit poor on the decor, but what a selection from an extensive menu! Fantastic service as well and good beers to choose from too. Lots of people so a busy turn around. Had the Sushi and beef with rice was lovely. If you want a range of Japanese food without paying ridiculous prices, then this is the place to come.

Without doubt the best place to eat if you want delicious food that is served quickly, a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and at a price point that cannot be matched. Second time eating here, got two bento boxes, salmon and chicken, nato and some tofu, all served with a delicious miso soup. Grand price around £35 that left both of us stuffed. We were at the location for less than an hour and we left happy. The staff were attentive and friendly in both welcome and exiting. It's great to find a place that has excellent quality Japanese food that is consistent.

Such a great place to eat. Lovely welcome by staff. The menu is extensive so it took us quite a while to read through it. Decided on getting a mixture of sushi, bento box and katsu curry and they were all delicious. Will definitely visit again if in the area as the price is really reasonable

A great find for an authentic Japanese eatery experience. No frills, but great service, good prices and really delicious food. Will be seeking our Eat Tokyo around the rest of London now too. Really happy to have found this place.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Japanese restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The sushi was nothing short of exceptional — fresh, beautifully prepared, and with a perfect balance of flavours. The standout dish, however, was the Wagyu steak; it was exquisitely tender, with a rich, deep flavour that left a lasting impression. The service was attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was both cosy and refined. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, and we’ll certainly be returning for another memorable meal. Highly recommended!

Standard Eat Tokyo. Good value for money in London but no frills. Sat for 30mins waiting for plates to be cleaned and order a dessert but gave up in the end.

Food was good, but asahi draught was flat and not ice cold, glass was also not chilled like usual, told the staff, they just said it was the bottom of the barrel and that was that, nothing else offered. Like it or lump it. Shame as the food was good and service up to that point was efficient. Could have at least taken it off the bill.

Takeaway order. Oct 2024. Sushi set A (8pc nigiri + salmon maki, miso soup) Al a carte: yellowtail, scallop, uni I don’t this takeaway sushi is the move. Especially as this set comes with hot miso soup that is wrapped up with the sushi in a plastic bag that traps all the heat. By the time it’s delivered, the sushi is no longer cool. The sushi set A comes with 8 pieces nigiri: salmon, tuna, tamago egg, small fish roe tobbiko, yellowtail, mackerel, cooked prawn, sea bass. The tuna was the best, surprisingly the mackerel was also good. The yellowtail was really disappointing and I ordered a second a la carte not knowing it would come in the set. It was hard to eat and tasted old. The second one was even harder to get through. The scallop was also good. The uni was okay but didn’t taste very fresh and I wouldn’t order it again. The salmon maki also wasn’t great. The pieces of salmon were large but it also tasted a bit old. I would maybe try this place again in person but I don’t think I’ll be ordering nigiri anymore. Especially as the total was almost £60. Maybe I’d try rolls instead.

Nice place, good food, though might get crowded as many places in London tend to, with people standing on the narrow stairs waiting to get seated (and it wasn't even the evening, though it was on Saturday - I assume sometimes the queue could even get outside). The portions are quite fulfilling.

Worst experience in london so far. Asked about katsu curry when we came in and was told yes they have. Went to order it a few minutes later and they told us it was sold out for the night. Ordered a soda and when we opened it, it exploded. Then they forgot to serve my meal and tried to make us pay for it, even though we never recieved it.

Food was excellent, the sushi tastes pretty authentic and fresh in terms of the freshness of the fish and the rice wasn’t hard at all. Their bento boxes are a good affordable option for people who want to get full on a budget due to the variety of different sections provided. I absolutely enjoy eating their chicken katsu bento and the portion sizes are great value for money. It can get quite busy, when I went there was only two people on the shop floor in the upstairs area but it was a great affordable place.

Oh my gosh it was so delicious and so fast and not really that expensive at all. The Bento boxes were massive and super duper filling. Anything on this menu will be a hit I guarantee it.

Very disappointing service and food. The staff asked us to empty the table in 15min in the middle of dinner because they have reservation after. But we never heard about it before we order food and they changed their words after we double check. I really wonder if they will ask other table to empty their table to get more costumers? Each of us spent more than 40 and it's absolutely not a quality of service I deserved. I really wonder is it because we were all asain womens?😂😂 For nabe, I don't think it worths for 37pounds. I tried to understand because it is wakyu meat but I don't see any taste point of it. And tempura jyu doesn't have even saltness and it's not the same quality from the other Eat Tokyo. Phenomenal Japanese restaurant with great food. Although I could not spot even ONE person working in the restaurant who was Japanese (or at least who I thought looked Japanese), it makes up for it with its authenticity and staff who shout “irashaimasen!” when you enter and “arigatou gozaimasu!” when you leave. Will definitely be back 🙏🏼

This is my favourite go-to sushi place in London. I’ve been a regular customer for over a decade and this place never fails to disappoint on quality and tastiness. It’s always wise to book a table in advance especially during the dinner rush hour period. Luckily there is the Champion pub further along across the road where you can purchase a drink and wait until a table is available perhaps. I’ve been to the chain in Soho and I believe this one in Notting Hill is by far superior. I love that the menu is extensive with pictures and offers a lot of selection. My favourite dishes are the Fried oysters, cuttlefish nigiri (Ika), homemade udon noodles, sashimi plate with scallops. There is also a great selection of bento boxes available. Defo go and try if you have not already.

This is the first time I visited this branch, compared to the rest this branch was way below average. The food was not that great, gyudon that we had tasted something other than gyudon - did they replace dashi with oyster sauce?? Karragae didn't come with Japanese mayo (paid extra and it's just normal mayo). Salmon don was fresh though, that I would recommend. Service was polite but rushed - I got that please GTFO vibe as soon as I was done eating.

Visit date: August 26, 2024 The taste is the same as in Japan. Some of the staff are Japanese. It is very effective for the stomachs of Japanese people who are tired from traveling to foreign countries.

This was the worst bento box I have ever had, and I have had many including in Japan. Hardly any side dishes to it. The fried tofu was full of water. Disgusting.
