Chisou Knightsbridge in Kensington and Chelsea

Visited in the weekday and had a lunch set! The food is delicious and especially the Tempura 🍤! Highly recommended!

Visited Chisou twice so far and can't wait to visit again! Delicious food, great flavours, fresh fish. Love the salads especially and the tempura, the yuzu flavour is delicious on the prawn and spinach salad. I think about coming back here on and off throughout the year, and can't wait to visit again. Simple, clean design inside but that was perfect for meeting friends and having a good chat. Service was lovely for lunch, and grateful they let us stay a bit longer after their lunch service slot to finish eating! Definitely recommend

We went on a busy night and were lucky (or unlucky) to be able to get a seat on the bar upstairs though with limited time. The food was okay according to London standard but definitely overpriced and subpar while comparing with those we could get in Japan. But what made our experience worst is the attitude from the Japanese female sushi chef. I could notice that she was irritated by the overflown orders, and tried to take it on us. While we tried not to bother her by not requesting her to remake the uglily sliced sashimi, she still showed us long face. But I could tell she was very talkative with other guests who seems coming often. If there is next time, hopefully I could be seated somewhere like table while I don't have to care about if the staff is happy with her job.

Amazing sushi, everything tasted fresh. A little overpriced but it was great. We went on a busy night and it took the waiters a while to serve us.

After trying a few Japanese restaurants in London, I think this is a more authentic Japanese restaurant. The sushi and sashimi were excellent and fresh. The deep-fried tofu was nice and had a very thin skin. The yakitori chicken wing was tasty. The pan-fried dumplings and the udon with tempura prawn were slightly disappointing. The service was good. I will come back next time to London.

I'd heard of this place a few times from friends so I decided to come alone for lunch since I was in the area. It's quite a cute restaurant with a long menu. Perhaps a little too long in my opinion. I ordered one of the sushi selections. The fish was okay but nothing out of the ordinary. Especially at that price point. Service was kind but a little too chatty.

Delicious and service is good. However, the service charge is quite high. Is it compulsory to pay it?　I live in London, I go to Michelin restaurants and casual restaurants, but service charges are rarely as high as they are in this restaurant at this level.

I ordered dinner from Chisou and found it quite wonderful. The rolls were fresh and delicious. Looking forward to dining in the restaurant.

We went here for my partner’s birthday and had one of our best Japanese dinners with a lot of really nice sashimi and sushi options. The duck breast in my opinion wasn’t the best but other members of our group liked it a lot. Atmosphere was very well designed. Small seating rooms enabled more private conversations and less noise. A good experience overall. Sorry for not having more and better pictures.

Quick word of appreciation for this lovely restaurant! 🙏🏻 I’ve been ordering with Deliveroo frequently (30+ times), and, time and time again, the orders arrive promptly, nothing ever missing, the packaging is no-frills but perfectly functional, and most importantly - the sushi is always incredibly fresh, high quality ingredients that just taste great! In Italy they say a good chef can make a great meal with expensive ingredients, but the best chef can make an exquisite meal with the most basic ingredients- well, the reason we ordered from Chisou so often is that their avo rolls were the only kind of sushi I could have while pregnant and unwell - normally they would taste plain but Chisou’s simple avo rolls were so good that my husband tried them and said “No wonder you keep reordering these!”. All in all, highly recommend this place - consistently high quality!

Delightful meal last night in Knightsbridge. The team here are always very welcoming and friendly. Our server was Abdul during our visit and what a professional gentleman and most importantly very knowledgeable person. He made our Sake choice and recommended several starter dishes which were delicious. Overall the entire team here are most definitely caring and very customer focused. I had an amazing dinner here with a close friend. The service was superb. Very friendly and prompt. We had the gyu tataki and a selection of sushi and nigiri. The food was super fresh and delicious and very nicely presented. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Would wholeheartedly recommend. We had a great evening.

Superb Japanese restaurant located in Knightsbridge. The staff is exceptionally friendly. I'd like to extend a special thank you to Victoria for her outstanding service, invaluable food recommendations, and for organizing my wife's birthday arrangements. The sashimi selection is impressively fresh and diverse, quite possibly the finest I've ever tasted in the UK. The variety of sake available truly transported me to Japan. The overall dining experience at this establishment is exceptional. I will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.

This was the worst dining experience we had during our 7 days in London. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone who cares about their food because the staff and kitchen here definitely don’t. We were at Harrod’s and decided to come here for sushi because it was close by and had a high rating. The person who took our order kept trying to get us to order the grilled skewers as well but we only wanted sashimi and sushi. So we ordered two uni/sea urchin chawanmushi, the seaweed salad and the omakase sashimi to start. The chawanmushi was nice and smooth, but nothing special and a bit salty for my tastes. The uni on top was very high quality, sweet and creamy, and the star of the dish (as expected for the 14£ tag). Things started to go downhill when I bit into sand in the seaweed salad. My husband immediately called one of the staff, told him about the sand and had the dish sent back. We were both surprised by the lack of reaction from the staff, who just said “ok” and took the plate away. The sashimi was served next and, again, was excellent in quality. The scallops were particularly good. But then my husband found a bone in a slice of the white fish, I forget what it was called but it was the centerpiece of the omakase. My husband was furious and asked for the manager, but a second staff who received our complaint (different from the first person) said he would “take care of it and speak to the kitchen”. They replaced the white fish with rainbow trout, but we were pretty much done and just wanted to leave. The second staff apologized and said that the previous staff didn’t speak English so he didn’t understand our complaint with the salad, and the fishbone was unfortunate but "it happens" and none of the other customers there had any problems. Well you'll be serving bone to future customers with that kinda attitude. When we were about to ask for the bill, the second staff brought us a complimentary shrimp tempura as the kitchen's apology. Some apology this was, it was basically a greasy dish of tiny frozen shrimp thrown in beer batter and drenched in ponzu. You could literally taste the freezer. To call it tempura is an insult. The manager later brought us the bill and “apologized”, but she was laughing and all smiles and basically didn’t give a pence about our opinion. My husband saw the service charge on the bill and said we wouldn’t be paying for the horrible service, to which she said “ok, that’s what I thought, too”. Well if you thought that then maybe don’t put the service charge in as an actual gesture of apology. We got better service at Chinatown for a fraction of the price. And to compare to other fine dining establishments, we had excellent meals and fantastic service at Maison Francois and Elysan Street the following nights.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in London. We used to enjoy going to Nobu but since we found Chisou, we never went back to Nobu(at least not in London).

We were deceived by poor service and a stressed out atmosphere. Nothing like the other Chisou in central London. Food was good but also not same level.

BUYER BEWARE !My wife and I visited here 5 times in last 12 years or so. This was a disappointing experience. I mentioned about chopsticks, and the waiting Japanese woman got cross and asserted they were the only ones i would get. ( they were throwaway cheap chopsticks, okay there were not plastic chinese style but even so this is a very expensive restaurant and the rice was tasteless all she said was "oh the sushi rice is in the 'hidden menu' " LOL, a bit childish) , food all arrived at once, CHAOS. We know it has struggled with differing management, and so it shows. Dear diner, you ought to be aware of all of this. Izakaya in Japan is meant to be more fun, lower prices this is really pricey place. I know the location etc., but still. The other two waiters worked hard. NIhonshu was 8/10 a nice tasting sake for sort of okay price. It wasnt all dreadful: at least they looked after my wifes' complicated allergies, that was correct. Fine. BUT, Fellow diners , avoid this place and do your research, It is too expensive for what it is. We will try Korean next time. And we will never return here. (Maybe Saturday is not the best day here. May be. But dont make that your problem, paying diner) haha !

Love this restaurant. First time to this specific location in Knightsbridge. We thoroughly enjoyed the nigiri mix set and premium nigiri mix set. Beautifully presented at the perfect temperature (not cold). Uni (sea urchin) season is here so we were lucky enough to have the last portions of the fresh Icelandic arrival! Extensive menu. Casual setting.

This place is a legitimate izakaya to enjoy Japanese domestic food. I ordered two pieces of nigiri- Seared Fatty Tuna was good and Sea Urchin (from Canada) was a bit bitter. The chef told me urchin from the US is sweet, so I’d recommend asking the origin before ordering. Avocado Sashimi Salad and Grilled Mackerel (Shioyaki) were very good. Having grilled fishes in the menu is a huge plus for me. Mozuku shot is also a Japanese domestic food I don’t see often and I loved it. Finally, I tried Avocado tempura because it’s the first time I saw it in the menu. Avocado was a bit too soft for tempura and had monotonic taste for the entire dish. Conclusion: I would totally come back here for the izakaya menu (non-sushi, non-tempura menu). Sushi is good, but not exceptionally so. (Although they are doing a very good job for the price they charge!)

Excellent food, excellent service and a cozy but lively atmosphere. The sushi was delicious, their famous horenso salad is a must and the green tea ice cream is the real deal. I came here two nights in a row because of how great it was the first time. I highly recommend!

Great intimate spot for some exceptional sushi. The quality of the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. Probably want to come here to enjoy great food and good conversation. Their house sake is delicious! Try to arrive before the lunch rush to get a good place. Service is included at 15%.

Gosh, we have eaten a lot of deliveroo for a while, and I would like to give some support. This is the best Japanese restaurant in London, with good value and even better food. Takeaway doesn’t remove the quality and all the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this instead of other high end restaurants in London Some good items are the horenso salad and the black cod

Amazing Japanese cuisine, the best wagyu steak I've ever tried in my life, we received a delicious complimentary seaweed starter dish each also. Incredibly kind and cheerful staff. Will definitely be visiting again if I'm in the area! Lovely and welcoming atmosphere.

Love this place!!! Really good quality sushi.

I normally get the sushi , which is good, but the chicken teriyaki I had delivered was disgusting. Completely inedible. It was skin-on chicken but the skin was completely slimy-- no crisp at all. Very disappointing.

Amazing food, expensive, but worth it

The decoration is authentic and some tables offer a nice separation from the rest of the place l. I have been to Chisou at least 4 times, it never disappoints. My all time favorites are mackerel rolls and the deep fried veggie which are quite delicate. Sake is good as well!

Excellent Japanese in Knightsbridge. Priced accordingly, but not excessive. Real high end Japanese food.

The cost is on the higher side, however, the food is fairly good in quality and the ambiance is truly delightful.

One of my most favourite sushi places in London.

After eating, I was asked to see my ID to pay by credit card. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, but it was the beginning of my trip, and I kept carrying my passport because I thought that London requires credit card payment and ID verification. Since then, no restaurant has ever asked for my passport. Did he look like he was carrying a stolen card?

I hadn't been to Chisou for several years and spontaneously took my girlfriend the other evening. Nothing had changed, extremely fresh sashimi, wonderful black cod, fresh wasabi, every dish was perfect. Flawless service, welcoming, knowledgable polite staff. I really love this Japanese restaurant, one of my favorites in London. Highly recommended 👑👑👑👑👑

What a treat! This is a lovely very upmarket restaurant with delicious food and excellent quality service.

Ingredients ichiban. Wagyu, foie gras, and truffle teriyaki, the feeling of melting in the mouth is heaven. Sashimi are all flown from Japan. I have never eaten such soft arctic shellfish and octopus, and I have never encountered it in Tsukiji, Japan. ​ ​ We also tried the super-top fish of Japanese cuisine "冰見寒鰤" yellow tail fish. The chef sliced ​​the fish as thin as paper, and after eating it, I went to heaven again.

The sashimi is fresh and wide variety. The tempura is nice but I think it could be better. The price is reasonable. Highly recommended.

Amazing food and fantastic service. The sashimi we had had great variety and very good freshness and flavour. The nigiri was good too, so was the alcohol. The dessert bento was also plenty & the chocolate dessert was very rich, contrasted very well with the fruit. I’m definitely coming back here again!

Good Japanese food, sashimi were very fresh hot food were well executed. The service was attentive and efficient. Unfortunately a couple of dishes we had ordered were out already. A bit surprising as the restaurant was out of so many items already considered it was still pretty early of the night. It was a mix of sashimi and hot food, one being a grill dish from their daily special menu.

Very good place for Sushi, the quality of the fish was top tier on the sashimi and nigiri, the maki (we had california and spicy tuna) didnt feel at the same level though, but it was still good. It is quite pricey but thats why i would recommend their lunch menu which was well priced for such an expensive area, the special sushi set was very worth it!

The fattest tuna melts in the mouth. The scallops were a bit too creamy for me. But the star of the show was the wyagu beef. Oh my goodness....I'd go back just for that.

Very average. The restaurant itself is a bit dark. The omakase is only sashimi and only for 2 people (I have never encountered this before and makes me think the omakase is not freshly prepared) and the selections of nigiri/maki not very interesting. I had a much better experience at the Chisou in Mayfair

The food was delicious. In particular, the panfried scallop, the fatty tuna sashimi, and the sushi roll with soft crab. Our waiter was not super clear with his explanations about the food and choices, probably due to a language barrier. We were quite shocked at the long wait for the pork belly starter compared to the other plates we ordered. Also, we were quite shocked to see the 15% "optional" service charge, which is more than the usual (still high) London 12.5% standard.

We hadn't booked. Reception quite cold but efficient in taking orders. Fast service. Fresh quality products but too expensive. I think we should be able to find a better compromise on London. I can't say it was a bad experience, but too impersonal for my taste.

At this nice and central location you'll find a cozy and mellow restaurant with a large variety of Japanese foods, from tempura to sushi and also some soba or udon. Reminded me of the time I was in japan. Great restaurant!!

The food is okay. If you want to eat Japanese food, you can come here. A little expensive but the price is okay in London! But maybe we didn’t order enough. The ordering process was constantly being rushed. As soon as you finish your meal, come and close it immediately. And told us that there is a next group of guests who want to use it, Ask us to leave, but there are still people eating ice cream, Later, after eating the ice cream, I immediately came to collect it again. Again, someone is at the door, please hurry up. Very poor dining experience

Food was unbelievable and the Sake selection is off the charts! Left a bit wobbly

We go to the Mayfair branch very often and was in the Knightsbridge area and popped very disappointed. The quality of the fish seems a lot lower than the Mayfair branch and the presentation looked sloppy. This seemed like a completely different restaurant to me. Our nigiri would fall apart and the Waugh nigiri was completely different and did not have that melt in my mouth texture. The seared nigiri was not seared right, I could barely tell it was seared next to the non seared one. I’m not sure what happened but we felt completely ripped off with what we got this time. It was a extremely disappointing experience as we love the Mayfair branch so much. I hope management will take a serious look into why the experience was so different.

I ordered the set lunch with miso soup, pickles and a mixed salad, followed by five nigiri, six maki and assorted tempura (ebi, salmon, vegetable). The service was friendly, swift and efficient; exactly what you expect in a Japanese restaurant. The bill came to 33 pounds.

Serves also a good kimchi (Korean). Nice fresh products, good selection of sakes... Service is attentive.

Unnecessarily expensive for average Japanese cuisine. The sushi were no different that what you can get from your local ITSU.

Food always outstanding at Chisou- no question. Exceptional customer service by JOSH. I can highly recommend for high end delivery sushi in the London area. It also works for Fulham.

Disappointed as I mentioned it was a birthday occasion when I booked, but this was ignored completely. Very authentic Japanese restaurant. The quality of the food was very good, the sake was excellent, and the decor had an authentic Japanese sensibility and comfortable atmosphere, 5 stars for these. The waiting staff were good. It is pricey, but what can you expect for Knightsbridge? Expect to pay at least £60 per head, probably more like £80-100. Had hoped for Japanese style hospitality of free water or tea provided on arrival (especially during a hot summer!), instead we had to order water at £5 per bottle. Green tea was advertised as "sencha" but was not sencha, instead it was konacha, the low-grade powdered green tea typically served at sushi restaurants. Fine, but please label it correctly on the menu. Dessert menu was not very exciting, so didn't bother.

One of the best Japanese restaurants I went in London. Foods here are cooking in a simple way that you can really taste the freshness. Very friendly service, even offered us mixed fruits after the meal for free. Love it!

Not a great sushi, fancy place because of the location, but quality is average. Every piece of sushi ia full of wasabi, so that is the only flavour to expect. Expensive for what it is. The only nice dish was the dessert, but in general I don't recommend this place for sushi.
