Sunday lunch was so delicious. Beef tender but also flavourful, well seasoned fresh veg and the best baked Alaska you'll find in Tyne and wear. Always impressed with the generosity if the food served here.

Amazing place to eat, the food is always absolutely beautiful, the staff are very friendly and extremely prompt and efficient. If you're like me, you can go in, eat, and be paid up and out within half an hour (I don't like sitting about after eating out) but you can also chill too

Where to start…The food is absolutely stunning! All homemade, and extremely good value for money. This is my favourite cafe in the whole of the North East, and I visit as often as I can. I’ve pretty much tried everything and never been disappointed!. Highly recommend the Mexican nights…the 4 tacos plate are amazing, the fish taco is a crispy delight that has brought me so much joy! Get the chocolate flourless cake, and if you’re there during the day scones or breakfast burrito! To top it off, lovely friendly staff, the venue itself is very rustic and cosy and they make you feel very welcome a solid 10/10.

Had an amazing Mexican meal here on Saturday night. As always the food was delicious and prepared by the talented Mexican chef Lee. The service from Craig and all of the front of house staff was friendly and fantastic. Craig makes the best cocktails in the world. Honestly, he does.

What a lovely little place in Whitburn. Staff very pleasant and food was amazing. Got chicken tinga Burrito and hash bowl with pork belly. Great coffee. Good prices for what you get , we will be back.

Stopped for a tea and scone at this great venue in Whitburn. Cheese scone and rhubarb scone were to die for, so tasty and filling. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great choice of music playing in background too. Will definitely be back.

First time at this place and very pleasant. The aroma of home baked scones was enticing as we entered. We had a cheese scone and a rhubarb scone, both delicious and large, with tea for two. The staff were friendly and pleasant, the prices were competitive and will definitely return again to sample the full menu.

Having been in the evening and for Sunday lunch we decided to try the breakfast. Good choice. Ordered a full English and Turkish eggs. Both plates cleared! Only minor niggle was the poached eggs were a little overdone. Very good value for money, good service and a fantastic cheese scone to take away. We will be back 😄

Went for the Mexican evening, food is excellent, staff very friendly. I would go back again. Desserts are all made by the chef,and presented beautifully. Authentic Mexican cuisine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. Well sized portions, good variety of vegetables, swift service and a bargain at only £10. Nice pint of IPA as well. Shame we were too full for dessert. We will be back.

This place is definitely worth a visit, I’ve been for a bottomless brunch and just for breakfast with a friend and both times the food was great. I had eggs Benedict, which was presented on a crumpet instead of a muffin which I loved, there was even some nice salad with it. It’s those little touches that make the difference for me. I look forward to visiting again for an evening meal!

I went for the bottomless brunch with some friends, food was freshly prepared and Lovely, staff were extremely attentive, I scored it 4 stars as there wasn't very much atmosphere, and had to leave pretty early, still had a lovely time

Had breakfast here. Nice choice of interesting choices. Good staff, he may have been the owner. Food is well made and tasty. Prices are fair. Coffee is average. I'm impressed enough to return for an evening meal.

Had a fantastic breakfast date with Lynne, great quality and service. Decided to book a table for the next Sunday for lunch. Sunday lunch was excellent, lovely lamb and beef, good portions and huge roasties that were lovely. Definitely will be a regular customer, and highly recommended. Had the most Amazing Eggs Benedict breakfast today with a Latte. Was as fresh as anything. Was so Tasty and the Service was Amazing too. Lovely lady with black hair served us and a young man cleared our table. Fantastic staff, very Welcoming and would recommend to anyone. Please give it a try. Great little place for breakfast. I had the burrito, which was fantastic, probably even better if I’d have been hungover. Full English was had by the missus, who enjoyed everything. Proper toast, sausages were great, she didn’t fancy the black pudding but that’s not their fault, I happily added even more of it to my burrito. Will be back.

We were recommended by friends to try East Street 19 and were not disappointed. The hash bowl with belly pork was to die for but be warned portions are large.! The place has a lovely vibe. Not to be missed.

The food here is amazing and the bistro is modern and cozy and has a lovely warm and friendly ambience. The chef Lee is extremely talented and has a flair for putting together unusual but delicious ingredients. The food is top class and you would expect it to cost a fortune but it doesn't..Marie and Lee ( owners) and all of their staff are professional, friendly and make you feel like you are having dinner with them in their home.

Great food. Wonderfully cheap. Arrive after 4 for the social hour for a different menu with the bar being used to full effect. Alcohol slushies only however the kids will have to watch whilst you have one! Would recommend the pasta for lunch and the sophisticated naked kebab for evening meals.

Fantastic food, drink and service. The Head Chef & Co-Owner hails from California and the menu includes quality Mexican food such as Burritos, fusion dishes like Chicken Tinga Hash and English staples including Avocado & Poached eggs and a full English Breakfast. If sundowners are more your thing after a walk along the nearby coastline, the frozen margaritas and quality Sauvignon blanc hit the spot served alongside small plates. I cannot recommend this place enough - a fantastic addition to the area. Five stars!

The food is fantastic. Best scones in the North East but you also have to try their main menu. So many lovely things and the chef has some really great ideas that are a bit different to the norm. The staff are also incredibly friendly. It is a perfect little addition to Whitburn Village.

We had heard great reviews about East Street 19 and had visited previously for coffee and cakes. We decided to have a post Xmas family Sunday lunch. The meals were excellent and real value for money, we couldn't fault a thing. The large meal turned up on a good sized plate with a good mix/portion of meat, potatoes, vegetables and gravy. Between us we had a range of meats all cooked to perfection as far as we were concerned. It wouldn't be able to recommend one over another they were that good. The staff are fantastic, very pleasant and always helpful. We have to get back soon for one of the Friday evening specials, the menu looked delicious. You gotta eat here!

The chef has a real passion for food which really shows in all of his dishes! Beautiful food and best Sunday roast around. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great. We've been a number of times now and the food has always been perfect. The outside catering is also fantastic and a bit different. Not just your standard buffet food!

I am normally very hard to please when dining out. I visited this cafe through the day with a friend and I was extremely impressed with not only the warm welcome of the staff and service they gave, but also the food was of a very high standard. I had a bacon tomato sandwich which was the tastiest and most succulent bacon I had ever tasted. The cakes were also amazing. I can't wait to visit and try other dishes.

We ate here on Saturday evening as I am visiting my parents. The food was wonderful, really very good. We shared two of the sharing platters for starters between three and it was plenty. The flavours were brilliant , best humus ever with the falafel sharing plate. I had the pasta main and again the flavour was really good. One of the best dishes I have had anywhere. Will definitely eat here when we are in Sunderland again. Service was very good and portions great. Fabulous!

First visit, very spacious, good menu selection and airy cafe

Lovely cafe on the main street in Whitburn village. Friendly staff. Had jacket potato with tuna and side salad with a pot of good Yorkshire tea. Would have given five stars if they'd had bacon for our original request of a bacon stottie. However we will return.

This cafe is almost perfect, there are few people so it's quiet and the staff are simply very kind. Most of their food seems home made and it all tastes really good. The only fault is that the staff is too kind.

Popped in for the first time yesterday for a quick coffee and bite, it was so good!Very different to the previous chintzy coffee shop located on the same premises, this is much more contemporary and rustic, bright and airy.Friendly welcome from all the staff, our waitress was very helpful and made our quick bite so much more enjoyable.Coffees served in quirky double lined glasses, so the hot liquid did not burn your fingers. Americano and cappuccino were excellent.I tried a toasted cheese scone, which was larger than usual, moist and absolutely delicious, I would go as far as to say the best cheese scone I have ever eaten.Desserts, my wife chose lemon cheesecake, which was superbly presented on a large plate with whole blueberries and strawberry coulis. I opted for a peach cobbler on our waitresses recommendation. Both were to die for!Highly recommend East Street 19, give it a go you will not be disappointed.

Popped in with family for a cuppa but noticed lunchtime menu special for under a fiver. The smells coming from kitchen made our mind up and we ordered the ‘spinach pasta with blackened chicken’ (can’t remember what it was called on menu. Our 10 year old vegetarian was catered for with a panini and salad. 3 of us including drinks was only £21. Well worth it. Will definitely be back!

Our new addition in whitburn village, now serving Sunday lunch, and it's, Wonderful. Choice of beef, pork, lamb or chicken with all the trimmings and a huge Yorkshire pudding, lovely Gravy, nice staff, clean and tidy, urban decor. Only £5.95, £1 extra for lamb, choice of small or large for extra £1.Well worth it a delicious lunch. And it has a licence. For wine and beer. Give it a try you won't be dissapointed.

Had a wonderful, full English breakfast. Two sausages, bacon, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, fried eggs. Toast butter, absolutely fabulous. My daughter had the eggs benedict, which she said was excellent, loads of bearnaise sauce which she loves. Ten out of tenIt's our new local cafe.

We came here for the first time, and we sure wern't disappointed the owners were so friendly nothing was to much trouble, The local school kids go in at lunch time and i must say they are well behaved and very respectful of other as around them ( well done) I will deffenitly be going back in when in the area, altho the menu is not very big you can still find something nice to eat! I personally think some things are a little over priced IE.. Toasted tea cake £2.55Slice if cake £2.95.. 50p if you want cream I think that should be included in the price!Round if toast £2.45..
