We had fish bites (generous portion of large fish "chunks"), large sausage, chips, gravy, peas and scraps! It was a lovely treat to have and take onto the beach nearby to eat. Really friendly chap who served me.

Unwelcoming staff & greasy food. Stodgy fish cake! I’d make the effort to go try the other 2 next time. Also I think they were cooked in veg oil not beef dripping.

Small portions and very greasy. It used to be good but not now. Staff in that day not interested. We will not be going back there again.

Worst service I’ve experienced in the north east so far - no greeting, no smile, lady just kept repeating herself with absolutely no flexibility offered. Apparently a large/family sized portion of chips is a totally alien concept here.

Wish I had walked out, I was thinking about it, the staff are so rude, the girl serving ignored me for 5 minutes while she stuck her backside in the fridge to cool down. The chips were nice but the fish was rank, very greasy batter but dried up fish inside with very little fish. I have used this shop since it opened but it has gone right back, how are people serving food allowed to have long gel nails when they cannot be cleaned hygienicaly

Went yesterday evening and the que was 7 people long. 45 mins later I got served and the girl serving was more interested in talking to her colleague than serving, so much so she couldn't remember my basic order of fish and chips twice and a carton of pees!!!! Less talk and more attention to service and the que wouldn't be as long and order would have been right. When I asked where the pees were the dirty look was shocking. This used to be a nice fish shop but change of staff has certainly spoilt it. Portion size has also reduced but again this is likely down to the shameful staff.

This chip shop is a hit or a miss. Tonight it was a miss, greasy soggy fish and chips. Most of it went in the bin.

Front staff is rude as anything just makes you uncomfortable. See loads of people say this, definitely won’t be returning, rather go to the pub over the road

Omg to think we pulled off the A19 rather than have a motorway sarnie to treat ourselves to a fish and chips and after passing another chippy on the front opposite the Tommy statue with a queue we came here, no queue but stood outside ages when she could have actually asked our order to speed it up and then she spoke to another customer absolutely terrible to the point I nearly walked away, wish I had, the thinnest fish I’ve ever seen never mind bought, the fish fryer should know better to even dip it in batter at all. I know businesses are struggling but covid cannot be blamed for this terrible food at high prices and bad attitude of the staff. So wish I had stopped at the service station or queued at the other chippy. Not to mention cash only in a time of cashless is best and one person in crazy as the place is big enough easy for minimum two

Called today for fish & chips. No-one in shop and I had seen notice stating only 1 person allowed at a time. went in to get fish & chips, asked to wait outside as serving someone else and I have no idea who!!! The woman's attitude was disgusting and she needs educating in civility which incidentally costs nothing. Won't be back that's for sure. No wonder shops close down when customers are talked to like she does.

Wow what a lovely great place 5 star all round food was amazing. First time here. But deffo going back.

Food was lovely, shame about the girl on the till. Bad attitude. Rolling her eyes and sighing on because a bottle of water was asked for after the lady had given her order! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Local fish shop that you always know will be open but several times I have arrived home to find that my takeaway supper is cold.

I live miles away. (30) My wife likes a trip out to shop in Dalton Park once in a while and this is only another ten minutes drive further north. We discovered this chippy after trying to find food during a trip to the beach. Honestly, we have never been disappointed. The place is clean, the staff are always friendly, even to us who probably sound like foreigners, and the meal we had on Saturday lunchtime was incredibly good. Luckily we’d just beaten the mid day rush! I walked out with a cardboard box that weighed a ton and that was my fish and chips, so you get loads for your money, my wife always gets the cod bites, four huge great lumps of superb fish, and I got a curry sauce, just to be different. For the price we paid it was a feast. We went further up the coast and sat at a picnic table and watched the tiny figures on the beach enjoying themselves scurrying round, jumping in the sea, whilst we fed our faces in the sunshine. You can’t get better than that. I almost wanted to go back to the shop and say thanks, be we had a long trip back home. So this is my thank you. Highly recommended.

This is (was) our regular haunt for fish and chips even though we live about 3 miles away, however, it wasn’t as good as usual today.The battered fish and the chips were soggy and the mushy peas were tasteless.Don’t know whether the owners have sold up or are on holiday, but the people serving were different. Probably try Downey’s or Gill’s next time.

Visit this fish shop once a week. Good variety of food freshly cooked. Very tasty,big portions. Good value for money. Friendly staff.

On entering the fish shop there was a queue so asked lady serving if had fish in as 1 wanted 5 lady replied I’m not sure I’m only serving not good start, when lady frying was in view I asked her and was blanked completely, once again I shouted over excuse me have you fish in as I wanted 5 she said she would put more in felt I was a inconvenience not a paying customer. After waiting while 5 people in front were served still fish not cooked the fryer muttered fish ready my order was boxed up and we left to find that when we opened our boxes to enjoy our lunch batter soggy and not cooked save your pennies and travel along coast to DOWNEYS service with a smile and edible food after all that’s all any paying customer wants.

So far this is my favorite chip shop around here . The chips and curry sauce are beautiful and you only have to walk across the road and your at the beach.

When the owner is frying the fish is delicious. However the young man overcooks the fish resulting in dry tasteless fish and hard batter. Such a shame.

After an afternoon walking around Seaham with family, we stopped for fish and chips at Eastshore fisheries on the recommendation of my stepmum who has eaten here previously.We ordered haddock which had to be cooked to order. We waited 30+ minutes but it was a lovely day so we waited outside in the sun, not a problem. The fish was great, white tasty haddock. Chips were very good too and we all enjoyed our fish and chips sat on the grass in the sunshine. A good chippy, we would return if ever in Seaham again.

We decided to try this fish shop today as we usually go to one further along coast.

Visited here before with little to complain about, but this time there was far too much grease in the fish, I say fish there was more batter than actual fish.

My husband and I frequently use this establishment. They serve excellent fish and chips to carry out and is conveniently situated on Seaham sea front. We love to get our fish and chips and sit in the car park which is almost opposite and enjoy them whilst watching out to sea. Very relaxing

We love a good fish and chips tea and this little gem is fab! Reasonably price and its always lovely, never had a bad time with them. Fish always nice and not too greasy and chips always cooked lovely, no scabby bits!

Stop off for a quick tea - spam fritter, chips and mushy peas... all very nice then eaten overlooking the beach... altogether a very good experience!

Popped in after a walk on the beach. Wife had fish and chips while I had haggis! Fresh cooked and excellent. Really friendly staff!

Tasty food would call again. Parking no problem. Easy access to car park near beach. Dont have to wait long to be served.

Go to this fish shop every few weeks and always find that the food is good value for money and tasty. The staff are always friendly as well, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful food and good service. Everything we needed in boxes for the food and plastic forks provided. Very reasonable prices too but soooo delicious food.

Compramos un Haggis y patatas y morcillas. Llegamos a encontrar que era 2 haggis, llamó de inmediato y me dijeron que estaban fuera de morcilla y si queríamos un reembolso que tendríamos que volver, explicó vivimos un viaje en coche y tienen niños, así que no pudimos regresar así que responda básicamente amigas! Conversación horrible que estalló y posiblemente la peor atención al cliente que he visto. Sinceramente, era tan malo que era realmente de risa! ¡oh, bien otro cliente semanal barco saltando, podría ser barato pero sólo obtienes lo que pagas!

Estábamos en la tienda para chip, y esta fue la primera que nos encontramos.

¿Por dónde empezar?! Descubrimos este lugar en nuestro camino en Seaham conseguir fichas peces n después de un paseo por la playa. En enfoque parecía muy elegante y moderno y limpio. Un montón de aparcamiento.

Cola para las edades, corta el suministro de personal no ayudan.

Esta tienda de pescado es fantástico, mi marido era tan grande y bacalao crujiente que no encajaba en la caja. Mi hija era una gran picaduras cod comida suficientemente grande para un pequeño apetito, mi e era las piezas más hermosas de bacalao blanco puro frito yo la perfección, amplio parking exterior y el estupendo personal. Nuestra comida fue empaquetado y nos sentamos en el aparcamiento al otro lado de la carretera y disfrutamos de la experiencia

Fui allí con los niños de ayer ha sido varias veces antes de ser de calidad inferior a pesar de Downey o topes. Ni siquiera tome el pescado y las patatas fritas en casa en esta ocasión como la izquierda debido a la actitud del personal. Muy hortera y agresivas delante de un niño joven. No volveremos.

Íbamos por Seaham y queríamos encontrar un pescado y chip tienda pero nos la partida fuera de la ciudad cuando vimos un sándwich. junta publicidad No conociendo la zona llevamos por varias millas encendió alrededor pensando -- que nos gustaría correctamente. Resulta que la junta sandwich estaba colocada justo al lado del pub, así que no, no tengo tiempo para llevar su mensaje antes pasamos. Nuestra persistencia fue recompensada por el suculento pescado y patatas fritas más maravillosa que eran exactamente a mi gusto. Esto era especialmente agradable que llegamos alrededor de las 3:00 pm cuando pescado y patatas fritas puede ser a veces bastante cansados de esperar por varias horas. No dudaría en volver y lo recomiendo.

Pensamos que le dan a este lugar una segunda oportunidad después de la comida horrible tuvimos el pasado año. Gran error. Piscina de todo en mala grasa de degustación, al menos las gaviotas tenía un festín de dos pescado y patatas fritas. No volvería a ir, sé que algunas personas que viven cerca de lo bastante a pie de branquias o Downeys para pescado decentes y patatas fritas.

I have purchased from this take away on numerous occasions due to it's location but have found it to be quite hit and miss. The meals are reasonably priced, however it is pot luck what you get in terms of quality.

If you've got a big appetite this Plaice is for you, my Cod what a portion, really nice food, friendly and pleasant service

Nosotros usamos esta fish and chips" regularmente. Con buenos productos nos gusta comer el pescado y patatas fritas en el frente de mar, viendo el mundo pasar.

Se llama aquí por casualidad y pensamos que no estaba tan mal. Las raciones eran de un tamaño decente y se sirve en una caja, que para mí siempre es una buena cosa.

Bought 3 cod & chips - although the fish were a decent size they were over cooked & chewy & the batter crisp but greasier than normal. The chips were also too greasy.
