Food was amazing once again. We love this place and can’t recommend it more. The quiz guy is very entertaining too. Thankyou again for a great night

Where do I start? My husband, son and I called in today for a quick bite to eat …. Quick being the operative word …. We ordered & sat down. Meanwhile other people arrived and proceeded to order. We sat for 30 minutes while we watched others that had ordered after us get served. After 45 minutes I went to ask where our order was and was told it was being plated up. 5 minutes later it arrived ….. Now I wasn’t expecting Michelin star food but what I was presented with was disgusting. The menu said chicken gyros. If there was an ounce of chicken in there I’m being generous, so much so Ii told the server that the chicken had been missed, only to be told that was it. So basically I was served a salad smothered in hot sauce on a stale flatbread which took over 50 mins to arrive. I will never step foot in this place again.

Absolutely fantastic staff and great value for money. There are way too many staff members who were working on the day we came but each and everyone of them went above and beyond the whole visit. Very clean pub

Started visiting here 3 weeks ago met maz (mary) absolutely amazing she is an asset to the business she started out as a waitress for me (5 star) at that but now an amazing friend will be back daily if I know she is working ...pay rise needed for this lady xx

Had an excellent meal from Eastfield arms it was a beautiful meal and the amazing Maz served us who had a good sense of humor and everyone would love her!

The service was fantastic! Maz entertained my son and made his experience so much better. Maz’s attention to detail in customer service was second to none and she can’t do enough for the clientele at the Eastfield arms. The food is great, beer cold.. good times.

I visit most week days to work using my laptop and eat and drink coffee.. The staff are great.. Neil the assistant manager is always helpful and polite. Char on the bar is lovely and Mary is the best. Shes always smiling, talktive and cannot do enough for anyone.

Booked for fathers day no problem. Food was amazing and we spent 32 quid for 3 of us with drinks. Plus dad got a free drink. Our waitress Maz was amazing and friendly, plus Chris and shaz were great staff nothing to much trouble for them. I always enjoy going here not too long to wait 4 food

Went to eastfield arms for father's day.there was 6 of us and hardly anyone in.loads of tables empty.they put us in the 'tap room' as I call it.only us eating, everyone else was there for the football.why put us there noone around to complain to or ask to move .was told a 45 minutes wait for food but hardly anyone in.didnt mind too much as food usually really nice.my son ordered chicken fajitas.when it came couldn't believe that was all he got .a chicken breast cut in strips and a few onions and peppers and 2 wraps.had to fill them himself which was a task in itself.expected a lot more for the money.even a dish of chips would have been better.he left still hungry.i had a burger which is usually well presented but just had a few soggy onion rings plonked on top of the burger.other meals were not up to much.first time we been out for food since March 2020 and was a let down.wont be coming back in a hurry

Been going to Eastfield Arms now since I moved to Barnsley in 2015, I’ve seen it change over the years but must say, the staff recently have all been super pleasant, always greet with a friendly Smile (if you are a tech mong like me, the staff will happily accommodate if your app for ordering is not working) in particular Mary is always super pleasant, always seems to run back and forth after me and my million drinks , think all the staff have done well to ensure safety since reopening but they all done it with a smile. Thanks Mary and team! And I’m sorry I’m advance for any states I get in for the rest of summer! Keep up the good work

Food ok . Tables cleaned and tidy.Mary our server was great. Plenty of tv s. For sport and large beer garden to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Drinks are slightly higher priced than most places, this is probably only downside

Lovely food on our visit today. All covid 19 procedures followed, felt very safe. Good communication with the greeter and support staff. Keep our local pubs open, keep visiting.

On entering staff were friendly suggests ordering by app and 50% mains will be automatically deduct...used the app and full price was taken out of bank card.this also happened to the people on next table...we were told there was nothing we could do about it.I was informed the upgraded steak was not available so i asked for a refundof £2 .this was easy for them to do!!!Mixed grill came on a plate i asked where the onions were and skillet. Guess what no onions...what a sham

We have visited this restaurant several times over the last few months and had a great experience on all occasions. Am pleased with the COVID measures in place, pleasant and helpful staff and of course great food. There is always a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and the staff work tirelessly in very different circumstances. I would without doubt recommend this restaurant for great food, first class staff and service and definitely value for money. Contactless ordering a bit fiddly to start with but soon got used to with staff support. Thank you

When entering the pub the man on the host table was friendly and welcoming that was best part after trying to order the app wouldn’t work so I asked for table service made me feel like I was stupid and tried to do it on my phone for me after didn’t work they took my order.Took nearly 45 mins for food to arrive then when ordered deserts this took 30 and had to ask for them even though wasn’t busy won’t be going back again

We went last night as 2 couples.and unfortunately 2 of us had forgotten masks but covered our noses and mouths appropriately. On entering the man at the front table spoke to us like children telling us we couldn’t move around without a mask we said we would share as we are married couples and we’re told no, you can’t do that! Our table was just inside the door!! He told us to download their app which didn’t have the full selection of meals or drink so we declined as they were doing table service but were told it would take longer. We entered the pub just after 6pm and it took an HOUR AND A HALF before we were served our food. People came after us ordered on the app, were served and then left before we were served! This also happened to another couple who didn’t use the app. We are all in our late sixties, not stupid, but don’t always like using these tools. Staff attitude was appalling!

Always a delight coming here .. Neil is such a delight to be greeted on entrance lovely guy ... staff that serve is always nice with a smile and i know thats hard most times serving in this industry.. covid time too keep up the great work

First time we’ve eaten out since lockdown and the staff were brilliant.We hadn’t booked a table but the gentleman gave us a table , we were asked to complete our details on the web site which we did , social distancing was very good .The service was good and so were the staff .I had steak and it was lovely hubby had chicken and he said it was lovely ..Good value for money Thank you to all the staff for a lovely service ..We will be back

Sunday afternoon in transit we decided to stop for a bite. Came across this beautiful looking pub The second I picked up the menu I knew there were no chefs in the kitchen, only cooks. Lots of microwave action going on and not a lot of fresh prep.We slammed down some food and got out of there when the babies started screaming.To be fair to them they are a cheapy chain so I don't hold the venue responsible for the disappointing food and beer range but the shareholders and ops managers who only care about GPs and nothing else.

Can't thank the manager and his team enough. We had a lovely chilled afternoon with drinks & nibbles. Ensured safety of customers was priority.

Hubby I went for a bite to eat , on entering we were asked if we’d booked which we hadn’t , the gentleman asked if we’d eaten there past week no we hadn’t , asked us to complete a form on line ..They took good care of customers due to covid , we were very impressed ..Service n food was good thank you Eastfield arms for taking the steps in making everyone safe .Good food

had a curry here and it was delicious. we topped it up for £1.50 and couldnt fault it. staff are great

Had a lovely meal with the family. The pub was busy but it was a good atmosphere. Had the stack burger and it was beautiful. Great value for money. Great big car park, lots of space. Tje staff were really good. They were busy and working none stop but didnt have to wait long to say it was busy.Will be going back soon.

Good food, wonderful staff and a great place to visit. They cater for every occasion and nothing is too much trouble. Food is always hot and tasty. Worth a visit if you’ve never been.

Came here with some family over the Christmas period for lunch and it was good, staff were nice and the food was lovely especially the tandoori burger, would come again !

Busy pub, good selection of beers, l o Tsvangirai of people eating which is a good sign. The meals looked really appetizing, would like to go back for food. Lots of menus to peruse.

I visited as a party of 10 for your Christmas Fayre Menu, it was amazing. The food was piping hot and lovely. The service was a little slow, but it was mad Friday, and the place was packed, so couldn't complain. Will certainly be visiting again. Great value for money, and very friendly staff.

An excellent value meal which arrived promptly and was well cooked. The vegetarian curry was much better than I expected and my wife's request for a non-standard meal was satisfied without any niggle.

We sampled the new food menu, I had the lamb kebab meal, really nice. Service was good too, worth a visit.

Family Sunday roast, meat, potato and Yorkshire lovely, all veg rock hard unfortunately. Wait time reasonable, and staff friendly. Over-priced at £9 each for adults.

yesturday they held an event for bank holiday, however this pub failed to supply sufficient staff to cover the event, they did however have an outside bar with a queue which went accross the carpark anbout 50 people waiting, the inside bar had people queing for up to 30mins on each one to get served. After witnessing this mess we ordered a taxi and moved on to a real pub. They served food also on that day and i heard a group of customers complaining they had waited for 90 mins only to get steak like rubber. when complaining they asked to speak to the manager to be told he was busy. A disgrace he or she should be sacked. I only wish i had videoed the caos.

Been coming to Eastfield Arms for a few years now and I love it.The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome.They have a good selection of food and drink that caters to everyone’s needs including food intolerances.Whether you are out with family or friends I would definitely recommend you visit here as you will not be disappointed.Food always served on time and is always lovely and hot and very good value for money

Paid for 2 classic mixed grilled meals after spending our afternoon in your establishment paid for 2 Diane sources witch came in minute dishes felt ripped off disgusted

Just moved into Barnsley therefore trying new places to eat, and the Eastfield Arms is not one we will be returning to, the Steaks are very poor quality but if you do try a steak order it rare because on the hot skillet it will continue to cook i ordered medium rare but by the time i was half way through it was well done. the service on the day we visited (friday) was poor the pub did not look very busy either.

Decided on a nice meal out so rang to book a table just in case and Chelsea was very helpful on phone, arrived on time had a drink and had a seat. Ordered our food and even though it was busy received it quite quickly and as usual it was very good. Staff really helpful and Assistant manager very helpful and friendly.Different specials on during week so well worth a visit.

We meet on a regular basis at the Eastfield for a ladies catch up. The food is always good and the prices are very reasonable.

Just what you expect from a sizzler pub cheap and cheerful with a family friendly atmosphere...

Been for a couple of pub meals here recently and have been really pleased with the food on both occasions. The second time we went on a Saturday afternoon, there was a great buzzing atmosphere and the chef kept coming out to talk to people and to see check if everyone was enjoying their food, which a lovely touch. The bar staff were really friendly and helpful too. Good pub, good value, good food.

Good food, good service and quite busy for a weekday night, could be the footy on the telly brought extra punters in but hey what more do you need.

Had a business meeting today, the facilities were excellent. Had lunch that was hot and tasty. Excellent service and value. Would definitely recommend.

Now if your after high class cuisine then the Eastfield Arms is maybe not for you. HOWEVER today I took my family, brother and Dad for a Boxing day meal. The staff were friendly, prompt and polite and the food served quickly and was really tastey and everyone was really happy with the service and standard of the food.

We could not find a clean table lots of dirty empty ones .a fair wait for our lunch to come when it arrived chips cold on 4 out of our five meals when we told staff. He did bring warm chips

I've been here many times cos their foods decent priced and we've always enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend to burger fans as their bang on! Ive rated it 5star cos its good for what it is its not a fancy restaurant but its not a scruffy place either its a chill atmosphere for a bite to eat.

We always love coming here. My daughter and i share a sundae and enjoy a drink each week as we have an hour between her appts. Even though its is only once a week and a small order, the staff are always very friendly and happy to see us.

Had lunch here for the first time on Sunday. Menu was very good, something to suit everyone.

We visited on a Thursday, quite busy as it was quiz night as well. We all ordered mains and desserts. No one had any complaints with their meals, tasty and good value for money. Same goes for the desserts, we were all happy with the portions and quality. Staff were friendly and it didnt take long to be served at the bar.Overall a good experience and we will visit again.

Been here a few times and it's been OK but today was very poor, the food was a long time to our table and it took so long till everyone had their dishes, I had the mixed grill which was tasteless and a very small portion,, we were all still hungry so took a gamble on the dessert,which again took a lifetime to come and again tasteless, we won't be eating there again

Called in our way home to Lancashire, great breakfast,cooked perfectly and so reasonably priced. Would recommended.

Where to start the service was disgusting we had done a pre order which the restaurant had for over a week. The table was booked for 7.30 it took the cooks 1 hour 30 minutes to get the food out and even with a pre order they missed 6 meals of it all which meant some family members had to eat alone which is not ideal when they have anxiety issues already.

Hi. Now I'm gonna start by saying eastfields is usually a great place to eat. We went there the other day and as usual only one bar staff. I ordered and checked what the soup was and was advised parsnip and was really looking forward to it. The starters came out and I got tomato and basil soup my most hated. Then the gammon steaks came out and the flat mushrooms were clock cold. Although when I advised them about the soyo it was taken away and refunded this meant i got no starter and the waitress was not bothered she just said the barman got mixed up x

I have made two more visits to the Eastfield Arms since my last review. One with my sister in law who was delighted with her meal, as was I, the second with my cousin

Completely disorganised, booked online for Christmas Day Lunch to be told you cannot book online then proceeded to cancel my booking. The girl I spoke to was very helpful but the manager in the background was extremely rude, even though I offered to drop a deposit in when I was up that way 2 days later they wouldn't even accept that.

Every time I've been there is never enough bar staff on and you have to wait for ages to be served. For a quite large busy pub this needs addressing. There is one member of the bar staff who every time we go we always comment that she obviously doesnt know what smiling but the rest seem ok. The older man who serves the food is totally different as he's really friendly and helpful. Drinks and food are great value and as it's not far from where we live it's ideal if you don't feel like cooking but it's not a place i would go or recommend for a special meal.

4 of us are Just back from lunch, first time here and can only say wow! Varied menu at excellent prices, easy to order and pay, food arrived piping hot within about 10 mins and was delicious. I don't usually have fried fish as I find it greasy - certainly not the case here. It was a very generous portion, crispy and like the big chips, so nice to eat. Same applies to the Gammon and Mac & Cheese the others with me had. Speechless about the deserts - real tummy busters! The chap serving us could not have been nicer and we will back soon to try the Full English Breakfast as well as the other goodies on the menu! Thanks for a wonderful visit!

We went to east field arms in 30 aug for tea big mistake we were told waiting time was 1 and 1/2 hours which was fine but when the food came it was over cooked and really not nice. I gad fish and chips and the batter was inedible. This will be my last visit

I had my grandsons christening here yesterday 2nd Sept I was absolutely disgusted with it..I paid £180 to feed 30 people it had a few wraps some had only coleslaw in them..Onion rings. Wings . Chopped up sausages and doritos with salsa.. on a tiny table I could not believe it bet there was 20 pounds worth of food . I know they have to make a profit but my god ...people had to go buy and order food when I had paid all that money .. I went to complain to be told that is what you get it's standard.. when I told him he said well there was a bit left over yea cos it weren't nice .. eventually the guy told me to send an email which I have and as yet no response . Everyone today has been talking about it how rubbish it was for all that money which isn't a good advert at all

The waiter martyn was Brilliant, he was so polite and always puts a smile on mine & my family, he is always happy and upbeat and changed our mood straight away, he helped us alot with certain stuff, the food is Brilliant, cheap but cheerful definitely recommend

My cousins and sisters meet up here every month. We have a table reserved. The staff make us very welcome every time we visit. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The drinks are varied and not badly priced. We like to try something different each time and the menu is so varied we can do this.

After a very busy day we called in for a latish lunch & were not disappointed. The food was piping hot & very tasty served by a very pleasant gentleman. I don't know his name but he always has a smile & makes you feel very welcome.The only down side for me was the sachets of sauces, they can be very messy & difficult to open, wish they would serve sauces in bowls, most places do now. Think about it Eastfield. We will be visiting again nevertheless.

Me and the wife went to this pub for a bite to eat. I decided to have the cod and chips and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, it made the whole atmosphere comforting. We will definitely return and recommend.

Last time we visited the food was bad, but we put it down to perhaps a one-off so gave it another go. Won’t be making that mistake again. Ordered steak pie and southern fried burger. The pie had 3 pieces of steak in and was terribly dry. Burger was so burnt it literally broke off in my mouth, too hard to eat. Ordered some bread and butter and the bread was stale so sent that back. Also the place wants a good clean, carpets are filthy and the light shades had cobwebs on them. Very disappointed.

We stopped here on the way to the (excellent) Underneath The Stars Folk Festival as we chose the comforts of Barnsley Travelodge instead of the authentic festival camping experience. Sizzling pubs always offer a good value breakfast in pleasant pub surroundings and this was no exception.

Had a lovely afternoon at eastfield, quick lunch with my mum. Can't fault the prices or the atmosphere. Lunch was lovely, me and mum shared the 3 starters for £8, plenty to go round and delicious. The staff are pleasant and quick to make you feel welcome.great place.

The bar men are lovely and was happy to help but the lady was bossy and arrogant, was a decent visit and nice food.

Although it was quite busy here today the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our meals arrived quickly and just what we wanted good portions and hot. So many places nowadays pile your plate high with chips which if like us you have a smaller appetite can feel overwhelming. Here there was just the right amount and for those wanting more there is plenty to choose from on their extensive menu. Really can't fault them on anything, we will be back very soon.

We called here after an exhausting day in Derbyshire with little to eat so we were very hungry. This was just the job. Very enjoyable, food was hot & well presented. Served by pleasnt & friendly staff.We took advantage of the Classic menu of 2 for £8.50. Very reasonable & very good value.Well done Eastfield Arms.

ordered 3 adult meal 1 kids meal .i was not told you had to order pudding when paying for main meal .i went to order our desserts and childs .to be told it had to be done when ordering main meal .so had to pay for a childs dessert again .why was i not told when i ordered. will not be going again

Not been here for a very long time thought we would give it another go absolutely fantastic food was really good the staff were very helpful and service was outstanding defo got us back as regular customers

We visited this pub today. We had the kebab sizzler and the chicken and spare ribs The kebab was compressed meat on a skewer basically underneath was a high bed of onions on both meals with a few peppers. Two tiny pita bread and three very small dips. Waste of money. Won't be returning

Visited here last week on a friday evening and was a bit worried after reading some recent reviews but our experience here was excellent 9 of us had various meals and every one arrived within 15 mins of ordering all were piping hot and arrived together the young lady charlotte was a first class waitress and the whole place seemed to be buzzing it was packed out we had bòoked a table luckily and i can recommend it to anyone we will certainly be back here i can only review has i find and this was how it was on the day well done eastfield arms

Visited 22 January for a meal and to take advantage of the free whiskey drink offer which was lovely. The staff were all very friendly as usual and we were served by the always smiling Martyn. Great place to pop in for a quick bite to eat.

We recently visited as a large group for a birthday, and were generally very disappointed with the food. The gammon was a ridiculously small portion and incredibly dry, and the 'rare' steak came out on a sizzle plate which meant not only did it continue cooking and became well done, tough and chewy, but the bowl containing the chips was red hot throughout the meal and my husband kept burning his hand on it. The burgers were the only meals that were good - everyone else was pretty much disappointed with what they got. Considering we preordered, we also had quite a long wait. The food is very cheap, but unfortunately too bad quality to make it worth it in any way, and we definitely won't be returning.

We went to the Eastfield Arms for drinks before going to the Tandoori Hut, the atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were very helpful and friendly, the couldn't do enough for us. Will certainly go for food in the future as it all looked very nice.

Went yesterday day got a Charing plater starter came no small plates all of us started eating of the same plate as the person serving was comming back with our plates saw him bring some one else there dinners asked again said he go fetch our plates gave in all had to eat of same plate and put chicken bones on napkins . Dinners came all Luke warm over cooked meat load of food left told girl clearing plates just got a oh right lol don't know what's gone wrong usual good pub not be going here for a while give them chance sort out

Great night out pie and peas chips mushy peas included in price not over busy so got served music on not many dancing or up singing but we had few drinks got a table and had a fab night xn

Come here quite regular for food and has always been lovely..but on this occasion ordered from the festive menu..as soon as we asked about it the barmaid had to go check to see if they had any of of the meals from the menu we wanted prawn cocktail to start..no prawns! So decided to just go for the 2 course main course and desert..so ordered a turkey dinner!! Could have got better from Iceland! Deep fried roast potatoes 1 pig in blanket 1 little stuffing..turkey roll! Frozen carrots frozen sprouts and what looked like a full bag of frozen garden peas chucked over the top..it did not look apertising and didn't taste good either..would not recommend and if this is what they serve Xmas day id be wanting a refund..had warm chocolate brownie for desert with ice cream that was lovely

Had a lovely meal plenty to chose from and a good selection of desserts. Service was god and staff were pleasant...nice warm atmosphere.

Travelling home we decided to stop off and give this pub a go. Got off to a good start with the prawn starter but from there it did go slightly downhill.

Called here for lunch yesterday husband had a burger i had bbq chicken melt sub for wasnt even hot i could not even eat mine will not be going back anytime soon a prime example of you get what you pay foe cheap food poor quality
