Quite a regular on delivery or pick up and have always enjoyed my meal however today I was very disappointed. Seems to be a compete change in recipe and tasted nothing like before. It was not a good change at all seemed like I was given the wrong dish?Unfortunately I could not enjoy or eat it much.

Greeted really nicely and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. Serviced quite well. It's our 2nd time here and still saw lots of oil in our food (in the sauce, napkins, plates etc) and my salmon was badly burned so I had to get that swapped with some chicken. However, staff advised that they ate it lol... good for them! Not very professional to say to a customer and try to make it sound as if I didn't know what burnt looked like lol. My hubby also pointed it out before I even said anything. The presentation was really nice, which I noted when placed onto the table but as I began to eat and properly noticed what was on my plate, I realised that it was not satisfactory. Masala cooks with alot less oil and are more professional with their customers. The organised events are catered for a certain clientele.

The best vegetarian curry ever called Bengal Special Vegetables on the menu. Music made the night special, not Indian loop tape more contemporary. Service was excellent. Medium

Food was pretty good, however we didn't find it that great. But biggest issue was it just all felt so rushed in there as if they were just trying to get you in and out as quick as poss. We got our poppadoms to start, we had them for about 20 secs before the waitor came back and asked us what we wanted for main course, I said we hadn't decided yet. Then it was like that through the whole meal. It just felt you couldn't relax in there and they wanted you out. And it wasn't that busy to warrant being like that. Just a bit disappointing. As was there chicken tikka masala which had a bit of an odd taste. Def worth a visit they just need to chill out a bit.

Always lovely staff, they give great suggestions and look after you. Food is great, lots of choice.

First time here with my husband and we definitely enjoyed the experience. The food tasted fresh and delicious but the staff were truly amazing and very kind - will defo recommend and be seeing them again soon!

The food here was absolutely superb. We went thete on the recommendation of a friend, we certainly weren't disappointed. Brilliant service from friendly efficient staff. A very hood selection of food ( I had the goat, never had it before) it just fell off the bone as it was cooked so well. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. Will certainly he going thete again and hopefully soon. Great service, great food and great value. 10 out 10

Last night we ate Bengal Spice for the first time under its new name. It was probably just over forty years ago when I first ate curry here. And there was a time when we ate here at least once a fortnight. We got a leaflet through the door and its not often I read these. However the menu as it is now is a little different from the norm. A few things stood out and one in particular, goat. We opted for the banquet night deal and added Poppadum's and a drink, then started railway chilli fry, I had chicken and Mel had paneer. Both were excellent and reminded us of 'indo Chiness' dishes that we had tried elsewhere. Our main was roshuni modhu, goat haandi, taka dahl, Bombay aloo, Peshwari naan. The goat was excellent, great flavour, soft and buttery. The banquet night proved popular as the restaurant was busy. Great staff and great value for money.

Been to Begal Spice twice now and been very impressed with the food. Very well flavoured and not just reliant on heat as some can be. Very interesting menu with some real specialities. Best of all a really warm welcome from the owner and all the staff.

Ordered 2x tikka masalas that tasted more like a madras. Rice was soggy and hardly any meat in the keema naan.

Place smelt strongly of wacky baccy. Music was like a disco . Waiter did turn it down when asked but ten mins later he turned it up again. Food could only be called average. Won't be going back

Very freshly prepared food. No gippy tummy or bad after taste like some Indian food leaves you with. New innovate dishes on offer as well as all the classics A must go to for Indian food lovers. Great restraunt. Nice staff.

Wow, 1st time since the new owners have been in. Nicely decorated, super efficient staff and very friendly! Food was amazing, fresh and hot, we felt really welcomed and will definitely be returning. Drinks with generous measures! Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times since it has opened. Every time the food has been exceptional. So tasty and the sizes of the portions are great. Always enough to take home. The staff are all very friendly and there is always a very good atmosphere in the restaurant. We went last night for their banquet night, absolute bargain and fantastic value for money, 4 courses for £11.95. We will definitely be back again soon and look forward to it very much.

The locals tell me this has had a few ups and downs as it’s changed hands in recent years. It was seven years since I’ve been here, so I can’t attest to any of that, but we certainly enjoyed it. The curries were good and met the standards of the connoisseurs in our party, and the service was outstanding

We arrived for our booked table at 1.00p.m and were taken straight to our table. Staff were attentive and helpful - nice complementary glass of champagne to start us off while we chose from the menu. We ordered a single starter of chilli chicken with two main meals of Mango Chicken and a Tandoori Mixed Grill with salad. A side dish of curried mash potatoes and lime rice with a nan bread. The food was very good and it tasted as if fresh ingredients are used. We very much enjoyed our meal! The bill was £64.00. I would say that there were about 40 customers in at the time and there was a good atmosphere. We have had a number of take-aways, as well, since the new management has taken over - all of our meals have been very good.

We've lived in the town for 5 years and have generally been disappointed with the standard of curry served, generally flavorless. Bengal Spice on our first attempt gets a 4 rating, this will be our benchmark for future visits. Good menu and good flavours. I had the goat curry for a new experience, it was very good. All in all a very positive experience, particularly from the service team.

Made a right numpty of myself last night gave a 2 star review when I should have checked my facts. Our meal was exactly the price of the listed items on the menu delivered on time it was hot and just as tasty as eating in the restaurant. I need to apologise for my hasty review thinking I was right when in fact I was wrong . The Bengal Spice is the best in this area for tasty spicy curries. Will definitely go there again and use the takeaway again. That is if they will let me in now. Sorry again. Joe Walsh

Booked a table for their charity night. Great food, and the service was prompt. Friendly welcome always helps, and recommendations are informative. Was a shame people booked for the charity night and couldn't be bothered to turn up or cancel. If you like spicy, two dishes with Naga chilli's, delicious!

My friend and I visited on banquet night this week, the curry was superb and the restaurant nice and warm, the staff especially the young lady serving were very attentive and I am very pleased we tried Bengal Spice

Quality and presentation of food is excellent, though was a bit on the cool temperature side. However, the restaurant is let down by expensive drinks - £7.45 for a pint of diet coke and a j20. Sadly it seems to be common to charge £4-£5 for a pint of coke/pepsi that is poured from a 2ltr bottle that we know is £1-£2 retail from the shops, in Indian restaurants.

I nearly posted after my first visit however after visiting a couple of weeks later Bengal Spice certainly is 5 Star Service and Surroundings are excellent but the menu choice and food is utterly stunning. Not a huge ‘Curry’ fan but the quality and flavour of the dishes is arguably the best I’ve had. Visiting friends agreed it is one of the best they’ve been to. The food is superb

I have lived in Rushden for 2 years and haven’t found a decent Indian restaurant until now!! We ordered a takeaway and was not disappointed. The order was super quick, and the food here was absolutely gorgeous, and portion sizes were great! Even gave us a few extra popadoms as well as onion bhajis, and as a pregnant woman, this makes me very happy!! Only thing I wish I knew was that the chutneys etc for poppadoms need to be brought separately but not to worry! Will definitely order from here again!

Best Indian meal I have ever had. Food amazing, staff attentive and friendly. Lamb chops starter to die for, mango chicken with lemon and cashew rice was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend. Definitely will be going back. So please such a superb restaurant is near to us, and they deliver.

We visited Bengal spice last night after visiting some other Indian restaurants in recent weeks in the area and being disappointed,this was a breath of fresh air. The place is clean and welcoming and the food was tasty and well presented and the staff were friendly we shall return very soon

We booked for 4 of us to celebrate a family birthday , the restaurant was extremely busy, however the front of house staff were absolutely amazing , really friendly & cheerful given they were absolutely rushed off their feet with a big group booking . We were really impressed with the food , our main dishes were really tasty & the sides were beautifully presented with clearly fresh ingredients being used. We’d like to say thank you to all , you were amazing & your food was fabulous , we will be back .

Food and service was very good, tasty and nice hot plates. Breads were a bit undercooked but staff did apologise. The restaurant having had a refurbishment needs finishing off, toilets look tatty and walls need painting in some areas. We found the decor a bit lacking.

Personal opinion. If you remember the days of 'Eastern spice', I would highly recommend 'bengal spice'!. I haven't has such a good experience in years. The staff were polite, explained dishes and catered to your taste. Our dishes had alot of flavour (a goat dish in the chef specials, highly recommended) and due to all the natural ingredients, never sat heavy after. Again, really chuffed and would highly recommend to locals and visitors

Takeaway delivered personally by the manager after I called asking when to expect delivery of my online order as all the site showed was "confimed". I was confused to find chickpeas as one of the main ingredients in my dish when no mention had been made of them i the description ... however the food was wonderfully flavoursome, not hot and spicy but definitely a treat for the tastebuds. The manager has also agreed to amend the menu details ... Won't hesitate to return, I will just need to ensure I double check what I am ordering.

!!!AVOID!!!! If I could give a minus rating I would, avoid this place like the plague! Ordered from just eat as our regular was closed, decided to go for a biriyani the only options were chicken or ‘meat’ I decided to go for the ‘meat’ option as I assumed it would be lamb. The meat in the biriyani was full of fat, every single piece, I found green marks on it and one piece was so fatty it was like it had actual mucus on it. As soon as I saw this I had to stop eating, I felt sick afterwards. The food came in a plastic bag that was coated inside with oil, the naan was as hard as a rock while the popadoms were soft and stale. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, I have quite literally never had a takeaway this bad in my LIFE.

Never go again lamb madras meat tough over charge by 35 pounds staff on counter unhelpful starter had to bin as meat was unedable
