I've eaten here 2 times, and it's always been good. It's a very pleasant, comfortable place to eat and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I can believe it from the care that's taken over the food and welcome.

It was OK. We visited the Eastern Eye on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t Particularly busy. Service wasn’t particularly quick, despite there not being too many customers in. What also frustrated me is that they only have bottles (330ml) beers (Cobra ect) and nothing on draught so you couldn’t have a nice pint with your food. That’s a part I personally enjoy and most curry restaurants have draught beers, so I was disappointed that the Eastern Eye didn’t. Food wise, was good quality but portion sizes were far too small. I didn’t even have enough rice in the portion they served, to go with all of my curry. I ended up having to eat the final third of my curry on its own. Wasn’t particularly happy with that either. Value for money wise, it wasn’t too bad I suppose but there were too many things I expect ‘as standard’ in a curry restaurant that didn’t do it for me here. Small portion sizes and the lack of draught beers are a real downer for me, so I probably wouldn’t rerun to this the Eastern Eye. Staff very friendly though.

As we popped in for lunch, we were shown the main menu. It was only as we were leaving we saw the lunchtime special but this wasn't pointed out to us! What we had was very tasty though and would definitely return.

Food was great, excellent service too!

I've eaten here 4 or 5 times over the years and it's always been good. It's a very pleasant, comfortable place to eat and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. I understand it's been family run for 35 years and I can believe it from the care that's taken over the food and welcome.

The rice is perfectly cooked, the spices are beautifully balanced, and the flavors are so rich and authentic. Every bite is pure perfection. Compliments to the chef for creating such a masterpiece!

Amazing flavours. We booked a table as it can get pretty busy in the evening. Between us we shared a butter chicken curry and a tikka masala with peshwari and a cheese naan. All dishes were exquisite and tasty, highly recommended when in the area

Really bad curry house. Food is no better than a frozen dinner from Tecos and worse than M&S. We were press-ganged into the restaurant by a salesman outside who said it was one of the best Indian restaurants in London. He was wrong! The restaurant is tired and lcks ambience which would have been OK if the service and food weren't so bad.

We probably chose the wrong night. Positive note: the clash promised outside was applied to the final bill!

I wanted to go to a curry dinner but couldn't find the place we were looking for but we were hungry, we randomly decided to pick one in Bricklane and I'm glad we did because it was a great night the place was very clean and welcoming. Lots of choices on the menu.

best curry i had in a long time n kept me wanting me for more, i ordered the tandoori mix 2x as it was too good thevsucculent lamb chops n the whole grill was tasty curry n the balti lovers must try,great staff n fabulous service by all and mr shishu wasca great man for recommendations, will return love the atmosphere n all you guys are great

Service freundlich. Mixed Meat Massala, dass muss man erst einmal hinkriegen, ALLE Fleischsorten, selbst Hähnchen!, trocken und zäh! Meiner Frau hat ihr Gericht geschmeckt, ansonsten hätte ich das Lokal mit mangelhaft gewertet. Reis wurde pro Portion mit 4,50 extra berechnet! Mit Sicherheit nicht nochmal!

I recently dined at Eastern Eye Balti House, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had. I ordered the butter chicken, and it was barely edible—overwhelmingly buttery with no balance of flavors, just chicken swimming in a pool of butter. My partner ordered a curry that was slightly better in taste but still far too oily. We were drawn in by the staff's offer of a 20% discount and free drinks, which they did honor. However, they also tacked on a 12.5% service fee, and soon after sitting down, they served a snack that seemed complimentary, only to charge us £1.50 per piece. The whole experience felt overpriced for what we received. I’d suggest skipping this place unless they make serious improvements to their food and transparency around costs.

I have to admit, I never had been a fan of Indian food, but I’m creating a video about London foods to try, and I had to include Tikka Masala. And to my shock… I loved it! It was creamy, tender, just the right amount of spice. I can’t even imagine how much Indian food lovers will enjoy this. And on top of all that, the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant to chat with. I recommend Eastern Eye Balti House highly!
