Oh wow!! What a lovely place. We visited here for the first time on our yearly trip to Bristol and it was wonderful. It's in a nice pretty location at Clifton village, by a little quant street with other eateries and pretty shops. It had a really lovely vibe. We sat outside and soaked up the atmosphere. Very relaxing. The lady who served us was so welcoming and friendly and gave us plenty of time to choose (so many delicious things to choose from it took us a while!!) The cafe is pretty inside, it also has a little shop area selling gifts and house things. There is such a wonderful selection of vegan cakes and drinks. The cakes looked amazing. They certainly know how to showcase vegan cakes. I wanted to try all of them 😋 The drink selection was really good too, lots of unusual things to try. The lavender coffee was delicious. All in all, the food, atmosphere, drinks and service was fantastic and we'll certainly return on our next visit to Bristol. This place was a highlight of our visit. Just wish we didn't live so far away....this would be a regular coffee and cake stop for us 😋😋😋

East Village Cafe wasn't just a coffee shop, it was the highlight of our entire trip to Bristol! This entirely vegan establishment easily became our most frequented spot during our stay. The coffee here is, without a doubt, the best we've ever had, and we're seasoned travelers. Their expertly trained baristas craft beautiful drinks, and the presentation is flawless. But East Village shines beyond just coffee. Their cakes, made fresh daily (sometimes even hourly!), are a delightful dilemma – so many delicious options, so little time! The cafe itself is bright and airy, with a welcoming atmosphere. Everything is accessible, and they even welcome your furry companions! Service is quick considering everything is made fresh, and drinks are brought straight to your table. We live an hour and a half away, and honestly, East Village is so good, it would be worth the trip just for a coffee. Their fresh sandwiches and other dishes round out a fantastic menu – you truly can't go wrong here. Calling all Bristolians! If you haven't been to East Village Cafe, what are you waiting for? This place is a treasure, and you're lucky to have it in your city!

Food is delicious and it’s also amazing for gift shopping! We visited twice within a couple of days because we loved it that much. First I had a deluxe hot chocolate and a mince pie which were delicious, I think the mince pie was the best I’ve had this year. The next time I had the blueberry burst smoothie, which was lovely, and the ‘cheese’ and mushroom ciabatta, which was also great. So nice to go a vegan cafe that everything looks amazing and is also plant based. Staff are also lovely!

I was made to feel completely unwelcome. I ordered a cup of tea and a cake and was politely told that I may be asked to leave if the place got busy - simple because I had my laptop on the table. I was planning to order a sandwich and some soup (lost revenue around £20?), take a short call and then leave after 20 mins, but felt that my business was not welcome. What a shame, lovely place with great atmosphere totally ruined by this policy. Working professionals avoid if you want to be treated with respect.

Before the pandemic, I used to pop in often for business meetings - the sort where you fire up your laptops and talk over coffee. Since then, the place has morphed into a bric-a-brac shop and vegan café. I visited at the weekend to pick up a lucky dip bag of food purchased on the Too Good To Go app. The price was good value, but not amazing - a bag of two or three items for less tan four pounds. Although the app tells you to take what you're given, the delightful staff offered me a choice of goodies. I selected a strawberry muffin and a buckwheat croissant filled with salad. Both were fresh and delicious: absolutely exquisite. If you're looking to feed a family of four, this is not for you - go to Parson's Bakery around the corner. For around the same price on Too Good To Go, they supply a groaning carrier bag full of sausage rolls, pasties, croissants etc. If you want a healthy, tasty meal for one, however, East Village is the place to get it.

absolutely adore this cafe! staff are such lovely girls and it’s often hard to find a cafe that has almond milk, particularly near by, so this sets it apart for me. I work in the village and am delighted how close we are to East Village as their tirimisu lattes truly are a dream! The quiche is beautiful but the portion is a little small for the price in my opinion. However, i’m not usually a fan of just a rocket salad but it paired so well with the quiche! Nevertheless, absolutely lovely!

I used to love this cafe as a vegan it’s one of the best for cakes in Bristol. However, the prices are so unreasonable now. They sell takeaway cakes which you can eat outside or on one of the few tables they have inside. They have lots of drink options and a small menu for bigger meals. Whenever I go to get a cake now I can’t help but notice the unreasonable prices. I know things are going up but they rip people off! They cut the cake slices so small and charge almost £5 for a slice! I don’t mind paying that price if the portions are reasonable but they are far from it! It’s such a shame aswell because their cakes and pastries are amazing but even I can’t warrant the prices. Their drinks are very expensive too; all around £4-£5. I will stop visiting because of the prices. Also, the in shop menu isn’t very good. Considering they used to do pancakes etc…

I regularly go to East Village Cafe as a vegan and it’s my favourite vegan food spot in Bristol. Staff are so friendly, cakes, pastries and drinks are delicious and unique. It’s in the perfect location in Clifton village. As well as the cafe, I’ve ordered 2 celebration birthday cakes over the past two months; one carrot cake and one almond and cherry cake. Both of these cakes were amazing, my non vegan family and friends loved it too, saying it was the best cake they’ve ever tasted! Now we buy them for non vegan birthdays too! I would recommend this cafe to any vegan AND non vegan!

Ordered a smoothie and a latte - the smoothie came out in a plastic throwaway cup and the latte in a non-recyclable cup. All straight into the general trash. Wow. Just wow. Either they have no environmental fibre or they do not trust their customers to not steal the crockery. I was told, quite rudely, there was no toilet whatsoever, so I walked 10/15 minutes to the public toilets by the suspension bridge. Customer service was bad. Ask for sugar and stirrer at your own risk. The interior of the coffee shop is essentially just a shop selling overpriced items. This place could easily, with very little effort, be so so much better. And reading the reviews, it seems I am not the only one to think so. Come on East Village - sort it out! Start with serving your coffee in actual cups and getting your staff to raise their game.

Smoothie were interesting and quite delicious if somewhat expensive. However, it was somewhere to sit in the shade. We bought a feta and Mediterranean veg sandwich that has to be the most appalling misnamed food item I have ever eaten. Was looking forward to eating here hut unfortunately didn’t get that far. I asked if I could use the bathroom prior to sitting down to order. My 18 month old son was present and I am visibly pregnant. When I asked if I could use the bathroom prior to sitting down to order, I was told repeatedly in a rude manner the bathroom was not child friendly. I don’t know why the bathroom is not child friendly and I’m not sure how the waitress expected me to look after my 18 month old son without taking him into the bathroom with me, but a little bit of empathy wouldn’t go amiss. We went over to the Primrose Cafe opposite instead who were lovely and accommodated us both immediately. Speaking to people politely goes a long way.

I visited this cafe with my mother because I googled gluten-free. It was a shame I didn’t look more closely at the menu as there was little choice for her and the gluten-free toast for her poached egg could have been better described as a...

Clean bright interior, good selection of options, cakes looked appealing. We had the poached egg with spicy tomato and peppers which was really tasty and the boiled eggs and bread which seemed overpriced for the way it was served small bread no butter, very basic....

This cafe is a lovely space to sit in, large windows to watch the world go by and decorated all around in calm white - chairs, floors, walls and ceilings. Enjoyed the feta and spinach frittata (with 2 salads) so much came back the next...

Decor is rather too minimalist to quite work and the plants already look as if they are dying: the siting of the gas boiler summarises the team’s flair for interior design. The food, like the coffee doesn’t quite meet expectations and service is indifferent at...

After two years peeing off most of the neighbourhood with noise and litter and building a live music venue, without planning permission next door to residential gardens, these squatters are finally getting the boot. Shame that the charity that own the building are now heavily out of pocket.

I liked the coffee and food, however, the seating area is a little on the small size, brilliant for a quick bite to eat

Went to this café for breakfast on the recommendation of another. Being in the centre of Bristol, this is good value if you want a basic breakfast. I did not find the people serving particularly friendly or feel welcome. Service was quick but the quality of the ingredients’ poor. I had an English breakfast, bacon, sausage, toast, hash brown, poached egg and tinned mushrooms (which I left) whilst my wife had what they termed a sausage baguette. In reality it was a sausage in a panini. The coffee was on the thin and weak side. I will not be returning.
