The most loveliest little cafe. Quaint and gorgeous food and drink. Highly recommend (but it’s tiny so you can’t stay for too long as other people want to come in) the owners will let you know if you’ve hung around too long so keep those coffees coming.

Omg how happy we were to find this gem! Doing a bit of the city walls walk we stumbled across this gorgeous tower in need of brunch and it was such a great choice! Beautiful inside and out, wonderful staff and the best brunch I’ve ever eaten!! Huge portions, great coffee, lovely mimosa - I’d eat here every day!

What a fantastic cafe! A great venue (being a historic former tower) to begin with and fantastically decorated in a stylish, relaxed and quirky fashion. Staff were friendly and helpful, the 'greenery' part upstairs that we sat in was really pleasant and warm but the other areas and the outside seating looked great too. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes and diets - their breakfast / brunch options are particularly varied and all sound delicious. I always think a sign of a fantastic cafe is a big choice of breakfast food 😋 Came here on a Sat morning out of the rain with my husband before leaving York after a two day visit and it was the perfect end to it. I had cinnamon French toast with maple syrup, bananas and bacon which was YUM and the best vanilla Chao latte I have ever had! Very satisfied and highly recommend - thanks and well done all 😁

Popped by as group of five on our city break to York! This place is a must visit! Such cool vibes…. Some of the group had coffee and tea and I had ‘The Barbie’ cocktail! I wish I didn’t have to shout about how good this place is as I want to keep it to myself but it’s really a must visit! Cannot wait to return to York and go back, I wish I had this place in my home town!

So much thought has been put into providing a unique experience in an extremely compact setting - it's well worth making a point of calling into this cleverly-designed cafe-bar for a drink, a tasty coffee, or something good to eat. Clean, cosy little rooms packed with interesting features, friendly service, a memorable place you'll return to. I am not exaggerating, the bacon ciabatta was delicious!!

We thought poor old Dyl's was flooded out and we're delighted to find they are still pressing on despite the adversities! Shout out to the chef for the most amazing Croque Madam - hands down the best breakfast I've ever tasted. We'll be back ❤️

Charming little cafe on the river built inside a quirky fortified tower. We sat right at the top of the tower in a little room filled with plants. The breakfast food was incredible! A little pricey but you got a decent portion and the ingredients were good quality. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and drinks for 5 people was ~£70

This place is so cute! We sat in the tower room which is the most beautiful spot. Very private so quite romantic too! We had two coffees, a brownie and vegan sausage roll. The brownie was more like a ganache, but we still enjoyed it! The vegan sausage roll was so good - the tomato chutney was really tasty too. Service was great - friendly, professional and quick. I'd definitely go back again!

Called in as we were in the Bishopgate area of York, we sat outside under the heaters which was welcomed. Lovely location right next to the river, staff all very pleasant and professional. We had Brownies, coffee and cake all were very tasty, also when we return a Bacon ciabatta will be ordered as they looked scrumptious.

Stumbled across this place after parking at Clifford's Tower just next to it. We went right to the top of the tower where there is a round table for around 6 I'd say. Super fast service and the tastiest food we've had in ages.. what a find ! Can't wait to go back

Lovely cafe and nice food. Unfortunately we were let down with the service. We were told there would be a 30 min wait but it was actually an hour. When our food arrived, it didn’t arrive at the same time. As in 10/15 mins after each other so we couldn’t all eat at the same time. Overall we were really disappointed and won’t sit in to eat food again.

We were a party of friends meeting for a Sunday brunch. We booked the Tower room for a private gathering. Prior to the arranged date Dyls forwarded a menu and requested we chose our selection of food (it's a small kitchen). I am gluten and dairy free with one or two other intolerances. Having looked at the menu I made a choice based on a gluten free option ( it was not a specific choice). I requested poached eggs on gluten free bread with avocado. I was told that they only do fried eggs after one or two emails it was agreed I would have a gluten free sandwich with avocado and salmon. Unfortunately, on the day I was told that the avocado wouldn't be suitable because it had chillies in it. They therefore said on this occasion they would be accomodating and make scrambled eggs with salmon. Despite the difficulty in liaising with the restaurant over food choices I found on the day the venue was stunning and the service was impeccable and it made for a really lovely get - together with friends. May I suggest that in future there could be one or two more choices for free from customers including sweet bakery choices but for those without dietary requirements the food looked gorgeous and my friends were pleased with their choices.

We went mid morning to Dyls and it was very busy and i can completley see why its a popular place. We was seated outside and it was such a lovely setting. The staff were super lovely. I had an ice latte and a cruffin it was to die for. Ive been stalkimg this place since i knew i was coming to York and it did not dissapoint. Will deffo be coming back before we leave. Thanks

This cafe is a hidden gem, located by Skeldergate bridge, with lovey views of the river and Clifford’s Tower. The outdoor terrace is delightful, with parasols, patio heaters, snuggle rugs and pretty flowers. Service is great. It’s also dog friendly. Well worth a visit.
