Durus Kebab House in Medway

Shoddy and insulting service. Items missing from my original order, called to complain as my order was packed so terribly, that the food had leaked and spilled everywhere. I went through the missing items multiple times only to passed from one person to another, and they sent the WRONG order out again. Honestly, save your hard earned cash. Piss poor customer service, owner had the nerve to moan at me! He knew the order was wrong yet STILL took my money. Disgraceful. Avoid at all costs.

Me and my partner ordered Chicken kebab with pitta and salad. After eating my partner was throwing up all night unable to sleep, this morning i’ve also been throwing up. Had a fever, shaking, can’t keep any fluids down, had to ring an ambulance in the end due to us feeling that awful. when i complained to the restaurant all the said was we will get a “discount on next order”, i explained i will not be ordering from here again and he said “okay” that’s it. EDIT After contacting the owner, we’ve been told me can have a refund Friday, 2 days later. We ordered late at night so was probably was of the last orders, we did not order chicken on skewers - we got 2 Large chicken doners. after getting a refund i will happily leave another review and delete this one.

Ordered a 19.99 mixed kebab and expected it to come in a tray well presented but was crammed into a polystyrene tray. As the meat and peppers were squashed in it didn't look appetising and the dog ate it in the end. And also had 1 small salad between 2. Normally it comes in a silver tray and plenty of salad

Excellent Kebab Shop, best in Gillingham

Doner has that stinky taste that you don’t want from a kebab, cut in fat chunks which are raw in some places. Chips undercooked, chilli sauce to acidic. Go to master kebabs 2 minutes walk up the road. This place is nothing compared.

Haven’t eaten here before but this is now my new Kebab shop!! Ordered a lamb shish with a skewer of peppers mushrooms and onion. Most kebab shops grill the meat and the veggie skewer over a naked flame using a gas grille. Not this place, they suspend the meat over hot charcoal so it retains its juicy flavours and doesn’t end up like some dried up bit of leather like most kebab shops. They even put the great selection of salad in it’s own container so it doesn’t make the pitta bread wet and mushy. The meat was so tender and juicy, I won’t eat anywhere else now!! Well done guys and look forward to eating from you again..👍👍

I've been here a few times, and can I just say that in 2018, 2019, and 2020, Duru's was really good? The staff was always cheery and friendly, and there was a TV that you could watch while waiting for your food. The staff were quick and on point while making the food. However, after 2020, the place wasn't as nice. The new staff is really rude, and the chips are dry. I do like their burgers, but the service now is absolutely slow. #AvoidDuru's

My order was wrong and late very bad customer service never order from them horrible customer service they didn’t even apologise very bad i hope they learn from it don’t recommend them at all.

Very bad customer service and there driver turns up with a wrong food and i call them back they came with my food and to my door I'm only 1 minutes from there shop so hopefully they will read this and know who I am also they even didn't try to apologise very rude neve never order from them and my order was late as well.

Absolutely banging. Just had a 4hr long drive home and only place that was open 🤤 did not disappoint at all, the meat is just like the old school sandhus from back in 2005! Think this will be my go to place now, especially for late night kebab when the only other place that's open is McDonald's 😑 Absolutely would recommend

We have tried Duru's again after they got our order wrong. Yet again, despite checking with the lad as he was doing it, the order is still wrong. Use Duru's if you want lucky dip with what you get.

I have nothing but praise for this takeaway, unfortunately it seems that most of the complaints centre around having uber eats deliver or just deliveries, . Its so easy to blame the invisible supplier. I go to Durus always very happy to see me and I'm a regular I would not go anywhere else, foods good tasty and hot. We've been made lazy by these dubious services, if you have a problem get out of your chair and show them the problem not chuck it in the bin then complain. We should go back to the way it used to be get it yourself then perhaps we would not have so many obese people sitting in their chairs complaining on their phones.

My kabab came freezing cold and had a bite eaten out of it and the delivery driver threw it on the floor. Disgraceful

Lamb shish was perfect, unfortunately for me whilst the chilli sauce was hot enough, the taste simply wasn't good imho. Would be 5 star for a better chilli sauce 👍

Do not order from here. After starting to eat our food we found a huge clump of hair in the doner meat. When we called the restaurant to let them know we were overly polite and complimentary and were met with absolutely vile customer service. “Eat somewhere else then”, “ go somewhere else” and “you’re sh*t” we’re the only responses we received from the guy. Currently following this up with Uber eats and absolutely disgusted that we paid £20 for a waste of time and an insulting phone call. Not how you keep customers and not how you run a respectable business.

Ordered Via Uber Eats (Saturday Night) arrived piping hot under 1 hour good size portion, driver was friendly I am very happy, by the way the strawberry cheesecake was beautiful really really good :)

The competition across the road sadly still on holiday, so tried Durus Poor kebab meat ,soggy chips and pitta bread hard enough for me to build a house with 🤐 For the price equivalent for the area, this food is not worth the money. Wont be back.

Absolutely terrible lamb and chicken kebab. Lamb just about cooked. Salad was too many onions and other cheap salad. Will never return never had a worse takeaway in my life…..

I decided to try again as they are open late and I was hungry as was family. Obviously meat and chips mean chicken donner dog food and chips. Nothing changes as if you have read my previous review it seems they can never get it right. Not gonna bother ringing for false promises as I've done that before. All I will say is avoid them like the plague. Over priced and rubbish. My last review was a year ago and will be advertised as so but today's date is 10/08/22. Wasted money again.

fourth time iv gone in with my pal asked for something well cooked, reasked and confirmed they can do it... to literally every time have it less cooked then normal let alone cooked more? I wouldn't mind but if they said they can't do it I would order something else. would of been a one star but the other food was actually good just a shame I won't come back because I don't feel like I can order what I want and actually get it

Dear god!!! Driver intimated a 12 year old and when we called staff re. missing items. Was told no refunds. Was offered to ‘be a man’ and to attend restaurant where we would be confronted by 8 people. What did arrive was inedible. Disgraceful. Reported to Police

We ordered some food as a family. Paid online. My 12 year old was closest to the door when finally delivered. So he answered. The driver confronted him about payment that was made 40 minutes prior and made a fuss so all family came to door. 75 year old grandmother and 12 year old at door, driver threatening, man turns up and all of a sudden, “yea misunderstanding, payment went through”. Payment was clearly made. The order was short. £40+ food ordered, about £7 delivered. After comforting our child, we called restaurant. We were clearly told no refunds, and shouted out down the phone and hung up on. After 8th attempt to call back. Was told to come back to shop so one man could be confronted by 8 other people versus 1. Have been through police for theft, intimidation of child, and threats of violence. We were robbed and threatened. Please for gods sake avoid this place. We are still shaken. And this is not an exaggeration. Avoid

We ordered a family dinner. When driver arrived he confronted a woman and 12 Yr old boy saying we had not paid when we had. When we called my male partner for support they suddenly said we had paid. Driver was rude as was the staff member that spoke to us on the phone yelling we had not paid. Then the order was incomplete. We called restaurant and they wanted my male partner to go to the restaurant and "be a man" threatening violence. When I called and tried to be diplomatic the man was very rude and abusive and was yelling at me. They refused to take any accountability. Police involved. This has upset a family consisting of a child and elderly lady with alzheimers. Trading standards have been informed

So I got a combination kebab for 11 pounds and if u could see what turn up I'm so disappointed. Now I've had food from this place many of times and never had a issue I had 3 bits of chicken shish and 4 burn and very fatty lamb shish that's all the meat I got for 11 pounds I do have a picture I am trying to post up

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star! Waiting for 2 hours for the food. Never arrived even though they lied and said it was on their way!!! Rude staff and you should avoid this place if you had any sense!! Just had to edit this review as I've seen on just eat that someone else gave a bad review because they didn't get their food either!

Excellent quality kebabs. Was going to master kebabs but it was busy so I was going home on my bike and saw this one I'm glad I did it was the best kofta kebab I've had and the doner kebab was the same proper cooked and the salad was fresh and lots of it .I will be going here next time and the kofte kebab is a must perfection proper spiced and how a proper kofte should taste thanks guys your my no 1 kebab shop forever see you soon 😊

First time ordering from here, they sent me a portion of salad instead of chips, I had a shish special, my peppers and onions where still hard, and the mushrooms looked like they where 100 years old! My chips where all a different shade of yellow and like cardboard! I also got charged more than the menu says!

It was my first visit for doner. The serving sizes were more than expected. Tasty and wholesome food. Friendly and clean place. Will be frequenting there.

Been getting my kebabs from here since the 1980's and never had one I didn't enjoy.

Been 3-4 years started going there, the first time i went there was a food photoshoot for just eat, since then till now i am one of the regular customer for them. Must say their food is nice and clean. Customer service is good always and it is nice to have a takeaway nearby home which opens till 2-3 in the morning. They have variety of the kebabs from seekh to shish, doner to kofte you name it they got it almost all kind of turkish kebab is available there and they’re all fresh. Well this place durus is one of the go to place in first thought because its near and nice clean and hygenic also

The salad with the Kebab comes covered in oil, even when asked not to. The chilli sauce is usually swimming in garlic, to the point that my husband who loves garlic, spicy food and chilli was sick. They advertise half a roast chicken and send 2 fried chicken legs. When I complained I was told, we're closed, you'll have to wait until tomorrow for us to sort it out.

Had chicken sheesh which was lovely. Nice big chunks of chicken that were cooked perfectly, nice and juicy, with a lovely taste on top. Also had chicken doner and lamb doner kebabs. Both of these were lovely as well. The lamb doner meat was the best that I've ever had. No bits of white chewy fat to be seen which was lovely and the meat wasnt salty either like some that ive had in Rochester. The chicken doner must have had the same seasoning as the chicken sheesh because that was also the best chicken doner that I've had. They must lose quite a bit of chicken when preparing it because there wasn't any chewy bits of gristle or fat within the meat. Ive had chicken doner meat in other places that you really don't want to eat when you get it home. So I have given Duru Kebab 5 stars because they really are worth it. And I don't like giving out 5 star reviews unless they are worth it. But this place warrants it. Really nice people serving you ok so they struggled a little bit on the phone due to the language barrier but they couldn't be more helpful and when I got there to pick the order up they had roughly 15 orders that they were working on. And I can see why they were busy because good food speaks for itself. They had all the sheesh kebabs laid out in front of you in the glass fronted fridgeand the salad looked lovely and fresh as well. Also not like the places in Rochester. No names mentioned but I won't be eating from any of the kebab shops in Rochester or Stood ever again, not now that ive found this place. I just wish they delivered to Rochester as that would save me the trip. But I mustn't grumble at that small price to pay. There's another kebab shop up the road from this place. I was told that they were nice but they're more expensive than This place and they can't touch Duru's in my opinion.

We've been disappointed with the kebabs we has this evening. My box of chicken meat was more fat then meat and it wasn't cooked to the standard it had been before. As for the salad it was very poor. We wont b ordering from here again. Very very disappointed

Phoned up and placed a order. Asked if the chips could be cooked fresh as last time they were cold and seemed old. Got the delivery home and they had forgotten my wife's order and the chips were cold. Then had to walk all the way back up to collect the forgotten order!! Wont use them again and will use Masters instead!!

Food is crap and cold...... 2nd bad experience and won’t be going back for a 3rd time now! Called up and got shouted down. The bloke didn’t care what I had to say and said I was wrong. Won’t be long before it will be closed as master kebab had about 30 people queuing and they were dead!

Duru's please read the special instructions on just eat!!! Last week we asked for no onions on the both kebebs but we got onions on both kebebs, I called the shop and said what had happened, they said sorry so ok, tonight ordered again, again said NO ONIONS ON BOTH KEBEBS PLEASE!!!.we was given a free bottle of drink as a apology but open the salad and you guessed it THERE WAS ONIONS on both kebebs!!! Your food is great but we don't like onions so never eat the salad. We order from you every week but we're not going to order from you anymore.

Terrible service waited an hour and 45 mins for the food to arrive. Phoned to find out why the food had not be delivered to be told it was on its way 25 mins later and still no food, called again to ask why and the person on the phone lied to us and said it had just left and it’s on it way. The lady on the phone was very rude and hung up the phone. Please avoid ordering food from here.

Honestly just don’t bother. It was an hour and fourty minutes coming. All the wrappers soaked in fat. And wasn’t worth the money at all. Very poor. Won’t be using again.

Used to go here for years, they used to be very good. But last couple of orders were horrible and tonight delivery took 2 hours to be delivered and no courtesy call..and the food was nasty. The chicken donner and lamb donner was burnt and tasteless.. the chips had been re-fried prob more than twice. Salad was ok. So not happy..considering over the years we have been regular customers..

Fabulous food , fast delivery however more care needs to be taken to ensure the complete order is packed . On 3 occasions we have had items missing . Including pittas and chips and sauces.

Ordered donner meat and chips. Chips was cold and meat was like chewing on rubber. Looked like the food was not cooked fresh and had been sitting around avoid.

used to be nice whrn ordered previously but not had recently. Unfortunately, our meal arrived too early and was incorrect. I selected 6pm and it arrived at 5.20pm. I ordered chicken kebab with salad no onion. It arrived with onion and no chillies! Was not very impressed. There was hardly any salad either.

Orderd food at 6:30 for and 7:30 delivery. I phoned at 8:15 to ask where my order was and was assured it’s on its way I then call back at 9 as still not arrived and they say it’s still on its way still. They call me back at 9:30 and tell me my order will be with me at 10:15. WHAT A JOKE

Jesus Christ their food is to die for. I Mean I'm not even drunk and feel that no other kebabs can top it. Well done lads ✊🏿

It was such a shame i had a lovely evening out with friends and family and when we decided to to get something to eat on the way home we found the food to be over priced and poor quality.
