Top class fish bar. , so refreshing to waking into a fish shop and not see cod on the menu. Fish was fantastic and the chips were top class. Service was brilliant. Not much went wrong and we going back again tonight. Simple brilliant.

Awesome. Well worth stopping here. Masses of locals, even from surrounding villages (us), so you know the place is good. Fish is excellent, chips are fantastic, never had a poor meal. Tiny place, so you order and wait outside, not a problem.

as usual food really good, young lad served me was very polite and respectful. However, the manager did nothing but cough into his hands which he did not wash, and then carried on handing food. After a global pandemic you would think he would know better. He spoke to young lad disrespectful in front customers. Have a word with yourself Mr manager.. your letting your team down

Went to the chippy.. The chips had a weird after taste that i cannot quite put my finger on and it also had a dark hair in the carton. Would not recommend down to this experience

Possibly the worse chips in Scotland and only thing that saved the meal was fish was good after waiting 30mins outside i expected a better meal really disappointed 😞

Food was good quality but was disappointed when I opened the box as I ordered a large fish and chips and this one seemed to be rather lacking in size, it did however keep the few chips that were in the box company. Again there was nothing wrong with the quality but very expensive for what you actually get. Nearly £40 for two fish suppers and curry sauce and tarter sauce. Also didn’t take cards so had to go to bank to get cash.

We are staying locally and popped in for fish and chips, we sat in the dining area. The lady serving us (Carole) was absolutely lovely, she suggested options and was so friendly, an asset to the shop! The food was delicious, hot, fresh and well worth the money. And we just had to try the deep fried Mars bar…it was delicious! Served with a bit of ice cream, we shared a portion and it rounded off our meal perfectly. I would recommend eating here if you’re in the area, I’m a fussy madam and I couldn’t fault it.

Food is average fish and chips but the owner is utterly obnoxious! Mocking people seems to be part of his "banter".........it's a shame as Dunkeld could do with a fish and chip shop without the verbal abuse.

Consistently good food , friendly service, top banter . Can definitely recommend if your in the area pay a visit . Dunkeld is a beautiful place.

We stopped here for fish and chips on Wednesday 5th July 23, big mistake, worst chips I’ve ever had, chips were green, lots of black bits of potato skin, were like rubber, inedible, fish wasn’t that good either most went into the bin, needless to say I won’t be stopping here again, very disappointed, couldn’t recommend this place

Very disappointed. The shop was really busy so thought it must be popular. The chips appeared to be cooked with their skin on, that’s fine, but the grey colour of the chips was very off putting. We won’t visit again.

Placed an order for a plain sausage and chips as I’m intolerant to wheat, walked out side for 1 second opened the box and found the sausage was battered. Walked straight back into the shop and explained I asked for the non battered sausage that’d I’d ordered. They refused to swap the sausage and made me make a completely different order in which they charged me again for

Whenever we are in Scotland, we have to come to our favorite fish and chip shop. We highly recommend the salmon ( if you don’t mind your salmon deep fried) the haddock is a must, the scampi and fish cakes are lovely and my husband had the deep fried haggis. We always order our food as take away and head to the play area near. The best view of the river and bridge while enjoying a lovely meal as a family!

Was not impressed at all the chips were very overcooked to the point of crisp which might appeal to some people but not me. Didn't really like having to wait out on the street for 15 minutes until it was ready either all in all edible but half the chips went into the bin won't be back not for me I'm afraid

Quite a disappointment, given what we'd heard about the place. The service was pleasant and efficient, despite it being quite busy. (We had ~ a 10 min wait, which was reasonable for the number of orders they were serving.) I could see some items being cooked to order, which is encouraging, but the disappointment for me was the chips. They were chewy, as if they'd been sitting around for an age. No better than mediocre pub chips. A real shame.

What a lovely fish and chip shop. We stumbled upon unplanned as our family met up in a local pub for dinner but it was packed! We sat in the chippy and were happy to have found it. Excellent fresh food, and the server was great with our 1 yr old daughter. Spent our weekend up for a wedding recommending this place to everyone! Went in and ordered my food. White pudding supper then waited outside I was then called when it was ready after 6/7 minutes walked inside to pay and collect then was rudely spoken to by the fryer if I didn’t pay it I would’ not get it obviously if u didn’t pay you wouldn’t get it.!! Without having any competition in Dunkeld they think they could Spk and treat people like this The food was 2 white pudding fritters out of a breakfast pack Disgusting worst I’ve ever had and won’t be back fryer needs to better customer skills !!!

We visited on our way back from Aberfeldy distillery. We had an excellent meal of haddock and chips, a massive dish of onion rings and a large pot of tea for two. Yes the price of fish has gone up, but it is something you have to accept nowadays. The service was excellent.

We, family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids) visited, the sit in bit of the fish and chips eatery on Sat April 22. The three of us chose fish and chips ( as you do at fish and chips bar) except for my 4 year old who opted for nuggets. The food was disappointing and not great at all. The fish was greasy with thick batter and the chips were leathery and felt they have been sitting around in the take-way next door for while. Which is a shame as you expect to have fresh chips served if you opt for a sit in option at elevated price. The mushy peas had so much vinegar in it and made them truly inedible. There was no bread available either and he served a roll from the chippy next door. The nuggets meal was also not great. And on top of that the prices were high. I found it strange why the guys serving us did not suggest a kids version of the nuggets when we chose our food but was happy to charge an adult portion at over £13 ! I think the whole experience was way too overpriced, with little value for customer. A pricey meal out for a family and definitely not tasty enough. I don't recommend the sit in version. Maybe take-way option next door is better , not sure. The only good bit - the decor was nice with lovely place mats on the tables and the toilet. Clean, lovely with nice towels for hand drying.

I was charged £35.50 for 2 fish suppers, 2 small bottles of coke and 2 portions of ketchup. And that was for a take away! Trustworthy as I am, I had just tapped my card on the card reader that the cashier held in his hand. At the time I wondered why he held the machine in such a way that I could not see the amount I was charged for. Well, now that I have just checked my bank account, I think I know the reason for that: I was charged too much for my order. What I find so sad is that he probably thought we were just a couple of tourists passing by who would not come again. He was wrong because we live not far away but he was right that we would not come again!

Arrived late in the area due to work & they were nearly closed …. The food however was delicious & the staff , management were so nice & friendly. Freshly cooked food and not expensive. Brilliant experience to start the trip away. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Sooo over priced for absolutely terrible quality food and the service by the Prema Dona sergeant major owner was incredibly rude to say the least! Sadly he I think actually believes HIS OWN publicity!! He firstly desperately needs a crash course in customer service then equally a crash course in cooking simple fried food! We STUPIDLY thought we would give them another try but AGAIN the food served up was substandard and in part totally inedible!! The supposed Pizza offering was cooked to an absolute cinder! Looked more like burnt toast or even the darkest ginger bread I’ve ever seen but solid and hard. I and no one in my family were prepared to risk our treasured teeth on attempting to bite into this burnt offering! His response when I phoned was less than acceptable to say the least! I took it into his shop to show him and he actually said that it was a perfectly fried Pizza! I said ok give it back to me and I will take it to trading standard and see what their response was but of course he refused to give it back as he WELL knew that it was totally unacceptable and trading standards would have 100 percent agreed with my complaint! It’s BEYOND my understanding HOW on this earth he has been awarded certificates for food excellence, it’s an absolute mystery in fact to say the least!! Obviously WE WONT BE BACK 😡 only reason he survives is that it’s mostly passing trade! Not returning trade like most small towns!! Who would return to that shop for such poor service and poor quality food?? A 1 star is really too much for this joke of a fast food fish and chip shop !!

Service was shocking. Sat for 45 minutes waiting for food. A big black Labrador was wandering around sniffing people. The prices were crazy expensive. 2 fish suppers were £29.50. I ordered 2 slices of haggis to take home...... £9. For two slices. They didn't even have chippy sauce, just small amount of HP. Overall price was £49.50. wasn't even that much food on the plate. Chips were bang average. Avoid!!!!!

Disappointing. Drove an hour to try this restaurant as it was mentioned in a 50 best fish and chip shops in the UK. Aside from the chips being pretty rubbish, the brown sauce was just HP sauce not the good chippy stuff and came in a very small ramekin half filled as did the other condiments we asked for ie. Tomato sauce, tartare sauce. The service however was ok although a bit slow but the young boy was running around on his own. Would not recommend.

Stopped off at Dunkeld and came upon this chip shop , Staff we’re all very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our fish and chips to be cooked . Has to be said these were the best fish and chips we have had for such a long time . I would highly recommend this place for an excellent fish supper

Absolutely wonderful experience. We were just going to stop for a take away fish supper, but the little dining room looked so great we decided to eat in. Excellent customer service and a very friendly atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our delicious fish suppers with homemade Tartar sauce, a piping hot pot of strong tea and a deep fried Mars bar to finish. Couldn’t fault the place and I’ll definitely be back!

We walked in and went to the wrong counter to be told rudely "it's over at that counter" so we headed over there and started telling prison warder 2 our order and the guy was even more rude, well until the three of us looked at him in that certain way, then he tried to make light of the sitution. 25 minutes later after standing outside our food was ready to be seasoned. I asked for brown sause and the Captain of the ship points to the bottles to buy. The sausage was missing the curry sause. Small portions but expensive.

Best fish and chips I've ever had

Disappointing fish and chips. The small fish supper that we got for the kids had half the fish and half the chips of a normal fish supper but only £3 less rather than half the price. Better to get a normal fish supper and half it yourself. We visited two years ago and quality not as good.

Big group of 40 and we were accommodated with no hassle at all. The food was magnificent.

If you are ordering food and ice-cream then you have to wait for your order outside shop for fifteen minutes and they give you your ice cream to stand outside and the ice cream is melted before you have had your food before your ice cream I always thought that you had main course before you had dessert then that is the way at nardinis and the other chip shop I've ordered from then you need to give out the ice cream with the fish and chips when they are ready and when you have spent £35 and has the cheek to charge you 40p for a sachet of heinz is ridiculous for a fish and chip shop who goes to a chippy and gets charged for salt vinegar and sauce it is standard inclusive of the price and the fish was a bit greasy and the chips were a bit on the small size like it was thrown together in a rush but if you keep selling like that then you will never have a chance to win any more awards!!

Went to the Dunkeld Fish Bar this evening as my elderly mother fancied fish and chips. Had an overpriced average fish supper which did not really bother me. What did irritate was seeing a lady ask the price of a kids portio...the conversation went something...

Stopped by at Dunkeld last night and headed to chippy for takeaway... Been before a few years back when they'd had a recent award.... We'll, I was astonished at the price haddock and chips, mushy peas and a small (330ml) fizzy drink.... £13.80!!! The food was very average, certainly not award winning.... That's the trouble with the long summer evenings.... More time to commit Daylight robbery!! Will not be going back in this shop....

Over cooked and over priced . The chips were dry to the point of being inedible , the fish was also extremely dry. This place gives fish and chips a bad name.

Deserves all the prizes it receives a must visit for a fish supper. Well worth the detour off the A9 .

High quality fish and chips but the fish could have done with being a bit bigger and the chips more numerous for the £9.50 charged. With a slightly bigger fish and a few more chips they would have deserved a 5 and not a 4. Tourist prices, which is fair enough for being in Dunkeld, but as they are the only hot takeaway for several miles visitors have no choice but to pay up. For a tourist location the service was not particularly friendly they must try harder in this department.

One decent sized fish supper. Handful of chips. The other supper was a “haddocks tail” with lots of chips. The Manager is strange in his interactions with customers to say the least, verging on passive aggressive. Any chippy in Scotland that does not provide free Condiments other than salt and vinegar is no in it for the good food Service. £19.50 for two suppers with sauce. No future custom from me

Brilliant little chippy! Lovely and friendly service. Chips were grease free, the battered haggis and mushrooms and lovely. We had deep fried cream egg and it was to die for (that's what my heart is saying too 😂).. Highly recommend this lovely fish bar in such a picturesque setting
