Not bad. Used to get some of the best chips in Scotland in Auchterarder. I'd say slightly above average now.

Expensive, tastless and very stingey with portion sizes... Got a scampi supper, opened it and it looked like half had been eaten already, I'm not greedy by all means but just used to chippies piling in the chips to the point the box barely shuts but this was so empty! And I paid nearly £9 for it.... the chips also tasted weird, very dry and barely any salt and vinegar... Honestly worst chippy. Staff also sour faced and unfriendly.

Stone cold chips. I would much rather wait longer and have freshly cooked food than cold chips that have clearly been sat out for goodness knows how long. Very disappointing.

I am so disappointed with this place. The food was okay, but the woman frying was disgraceful. As I stood in the cue waiting on my food. The fryer woman asked the other lady to heat up the smoke sausage. This lady obviously had something wrong with her voice and was struggling to speak. She did as she was asked, and the fryer said to her. I can't hear you or understand you speaking like that in a loud voice so everyone could hear. She then proceeded to chastise this poor lady in front of everyone. At one point, she said Its obviously a nervous thing you have, so you better go to the doctor. The poor woman was so embarrassed, and I was as well for her. I was disgusted in the way this poor lady was treated and said quietly to the fryer that I was disgusted with the way she chastised her employees in front of all her customers. Her reply was that she's not my employee. Honestly, it was so disgusting seeing someone being treated like this. Definitely wouldn't go back or recommend this place if this is how people are treated. Honest review.

Picked up 2 fish and large chips tonight, quick friendly service, best fish and chips we've had in a long while, fish very lightly battered, super delicious, good size and proper chip shop chips. Yummy, not greasy, lovely flavour. Many thanks. Karen and Rob, visiting from Bedfordshire. :-)

stopped there on saturday evening coming home too peterhead after a day out at football , food was excellent , service was great bit more expensive than peterhead chippy i go too but enjoyed it and will be back on next away trip 👍👍👍

The best fish supper I have had in ages, haddock was lovely and chips really good. It was very busy when we were in and some good banter going between the staff and customers, thoroughly recommend

£11.45 for a "large" breaded Haddock and chips, 1 piece of fish and was certainly not large, it was mediocre at best and not fresh tasting at all, not a very large portion of chips either, very disappointed as we drove 40 minutes on a recommendation. Won't be bothering again.

Everything is freshly prepared on the spot, really good prices and not expensive. for fish

Curry sauce was lumpy and had white lumps through it. the fish was very greasy & oily and had a strong oily taste to it, almost like it hadn't been drained properly. , we won't be back again. Waste of money

Been a regular stopping place after football matches North of Perth. Used to get buses stopping until police had a spell of blocking supporters buses coming off the main road. Thankfully food still as great and because we travel by car we never stopped calling in. Be nice if supporters clubs could give them more business like it used to be.

WE STOPPED HERE FOR TEA AFTER VISITING RELATIVES IN TRINITY GASK. FISH SUPPER WAS BEAUTIFUL BETTER THAN ANY THING ANSTRUTHER FISH BAR COULD DO. FOR 3 SUPPERS WE PAID £21 EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY. WE WILL BE BACK SOON.

We spent a week in a caravan just outside of Auchterarder and we had the great good fortune of getting a fish supper from here on our first night. Not only was the food lovely but the service was helpful and friendly, even a little bit of tourist info was thrown in. Great value, great food. And congratulations to the girl who had just earned her place at her 1st choice university.

Normally excellent service great portions and tasty fish and chips. Tonight was awful service (49 minute wait and long long queues ) fish heavily battered hiding a small fish, chip portion small tasting awful half of which we threw away. Don’t know what’s happened. Has it changed hands

Great for a treat, good food and friendly staff which makes a difference if it is busy and you need to wait for your order. Clean appearance gives you more confidence for buying here.

Chips were great, haggis had obviously been sitting around for a while, the ends were a bit crunchy! Still good though

We’ve just moved here and after a long and difficult day rearranging furniture we were too tired to cook. We called ahead and ordered by phone. We were given a time slot to collect and it was ready at the allotted time. Fresh, hot and crispy breaded haddock. Not greasy and lovely mushy peas, also hot! We will be back! Thank you

There are two fish & chip shops in Auchterarder who in their wisdom both decide to close on the same days. Moaned their heads off during Covid but now moan for not earning enough when they are allowed to open. I hope you go bust!!!

The welcome was friendly and welcoming and we had time to peruse the menu board before ordering. White and black pudding suppers, single fish and single sausage (the latter of which was cut into slices for the dog). The fish was delicious, flaky and the batter thin and crispy. the black pudding was slightly dry but tasty nonetheless and the white pudding was well received. The chips were excellent, good texture and not too greasy. All in all a very good chippie tea and at a very reasonable price. We will definitely return when back in town.

Large crowd waiting for food outside I wrongly thought it must be good if that many people were waiting ………..wrong ! Ordered at 6.45 told food would be ready for 7.00 not a big order scampi chips x1 / fish and chips x1 / pie and chips x1. Went back in at 7.00 my scampi was in the warmer asked staff if order was ready told they were waiting on chips. Loads of people waiting on orders absolute shambles loads of food in the warmer but no one being served. Finally got my order at 7.30 scampi had been sat at least 30 mins by this time and was stale and dry. Fish was average, pretty greasy. Pie was average, such a shame for how long we waited. Wouldn’t recommend certainly won’t be using again !

When we first moved to Auchterarder a few years ago, we quite enjoyed the occasional fish suppers from here. About a year ago we noticed the quality was a bit ropey, often the fish was over cooked and dry. Since lockdown we’ve been using it more regularly, perhaps once a month, and unfortunately the quality has been consistently not great. The fish has often been over cooked, and one time my chips were saturated in oil. I have had a white pudding that was inedible, it was so claggy and utterly tasteless. Last night was the final straw.... the fish was quite a lot smaller than it has been before, my piece of fish seemed nicely cooked for part of it but part of it was rubbery. My husband said his was dry. And in general there seemed to be way too much oil on our plates. A huge disappointment. We’ve given it enough chances but I’m afraid we won’t be using them again. Such a shame.

Had fish, chips and mushy peas from here, they were inedible. The fish was grey and rubbery, the mushy peas were not mushy and full of salt. The batter on the fish was soggy. What a disappointment.

needed to eat after driving north for many many hours and cooking was the last thing on our minds... decided that Fish and chips was the way to go. We ordered and was advised to come back in 20 mins when the next fry was scheduled, fish had some of the lightest batter ive ever had, chips were "chippy" ;-) but all in all a very pleasant and needed meal.

I don't know how it gets so many good reviews. Greasy soggy fish, chips not much better.

Was late back from work so got us a “chippy tea” told the fish was going to be cooked now which was fine, nice and freshly cooked, fish was nicely cooked to be fair, but to be honest at £6+ I was disappointed at the size of the fish itself, the chips were ok, 10-15 minute drive home, the batter didn’t stick to the paper which was great 👍

As other reviews soggy batter stuck to paper when fish unwrapped chips not much better. Visited on a cold February night when could have murdered fish and chips. Venue good clean and staff pleasant.

Been coming to this chip shop as lo g as I've been coming to the highlands. Despite being busy, food arrived quickly andwas good as it's ever been! Even the tea was spot on. We sat in to eat on one of the window chairs so it was a nice touch when one of the staff dropped a proper knife and fork in beside us 🙂👍

Very disappointed. Fish suppers with soggy chips and soggy batter on fish. AS with others, when unwrapping the supper the batter came off the top of the fish as it was stuck to the paper. Chips not cooked enough either. Overall the once very high standards have somewhat dropped and there are better places to get fish and chips...

The service was delightful warm welcoming atmosphere and friendly helpful staff nice area to tuck in inside and get stuck in to the most delightful sublime macaroni cheese cheesey supper my fellow passenger's had fish and chips and white pudding and chips and it's been the talk of our table since lovely fresh hot Grubb with a delightful sublime atmospherics with kind friendly natured staff xx love love love finished off with a nice bottle of red in front of strictly xx definetly highly recommended to anyone but in the meantime kkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeepppppp cccccccchhhhhiiiippppppyyyying xxx

Freshly cooked food. Had the breaded haddock, it was nice. Service was quick, wait for food to be cooked wasn't too long. felt uncomfortable after a miscommunication of my order left me short of 2 portions of chips. Was quickly rectified but the unwanted comment was not appreciated. Would of been 5 stars otherwise.

Very disappointed. Two fish suppers with soggy chips and soggy batter on fish. When unwrapping the supper the batter came off the top of the fish as it was stuck to the paper. The suppers didn't even make up for it with flavour. Will definitely NOT use this chip shop again.

The price you pay for the tiny portion you get is just madness! I wouldn't go back. The chips tasted like chips, the only redeeming factor is they were made fresh. Also, no brown sauce!

We stopped off here early Saturday evening and enjoyed the best fish and chips I can remember in a long time. The haddock was beautiful and with only a thin batter so you can really appreciate the fish. Despite previous posts, our chips were freshly cooked and delicious. Will definitely be returning when in the town.

Just stopped off with caravan on way home from ireland. Fish cooked freshly and chips not. Very disappointing. I think most customers would rather wait for freshly cooked chips than eat old heat ups. Maybe this could be the way forward.

Food is ok but oh my word what a shambles the service is!!! So many opportunities to make the customer experience better. Almost choosing to make customers wait unnecessary. It is so easy not to return......

Good chips clean and well presented shop and lovely staff

This is always our first stop when we get home and a tradition to hit the Fish & Chip shop for tea. Great variety of food on the menu and all cooked fresh on order. The young staff are very helpful, so just ask if you want anything different. You might have to wait 10-15mins for it too cook if in a hurry, but well worth the wait.

Classic Scottish fish and chips. The batter is too think and too oily for my personal taste, others will love it. OK when you are hungry and in a hurry.

Excellent fish and chips with excellent service and wide menu and delicious ice cream xx but my favourite is the macaroni cheese it's made fresh and so tasty and the chips and other options on the menu just sublime hot and tasty and cooked nice and fresh and staff so welcoming and warm and friendly xx has outside eating with tables and chairs in the summertime just sublime x

I got a veggie pizza and it was delicious. Staff are pleasant, shop very clean and good value for money. Staying in Auchterarder for the European Championships. There are a number of places to eat but very few are open after 5pm and others are overpriced. This was perfect and I will definitely be back.

we bought a takeaway 2 fish teas and eat in our car just as a change and we would recomend this fish and chip shop for anyone with a family go on have a laugh with your kids.
