Excellent and perfectly cooked baked sea bass one night. A thicker fish in the fried fish (fish & chips) than any other I had in Scotland. Both types of fish were moist & not overcooked. Desserts outstanding. Cheese cake one night. Tiramisu another night. Their chocoolate ice cream had small bits of chocolate in it as per friend.

We had been let down by another establishment on a Friday night and needed a table for 10 people at the last minute. The Castle restaurant at Fishers Hotel accommodated us in their lovely dining room, and the service was friendly and vey efficient. We all enjoyed our respective dinners immensely,( 10 cleaned plates!) freshly cooked to order. I would definitely recommend this hotel restaurant ,

We had the set menu, £35 for three courses but I think there was a reduction for those staying at the hotel. There was a huge amount of local smoked salmon as one of the starters, with terrine and some bean concoction; absolutely gorgeous venison casserole as the main dish and not quite such a "Scottish" selection of desserts - we would have welcomed Highland cranachan. Again, not very extensive wine list. Service excellent, and a box for the tronc so tips are shared. Nice to push the boat out a bit for once.

We came for dinner with my friend on the first night we arrived to Pitlochry. The Fisher’s Hotel, where the restaurant is situated, has a very central location on the main street of Pitlochry and near the railway station. The building must have been newly re-decorated as it smelled of paint, but this didn’t interfere with our meal. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in traditional style with tartan fabric and copies of old oil paintings on the walls. We had our table booked early, at 6pm. When we arrived the restaurant was very quiet. We were offered a very cosy place by the window. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I can’t exactly remember the names of our starters. I had a vegetarian starter, some sort of vegetable terrine. My friend had a version of prawn marie-rose cocktail (I think there was smoked salmon there as well). My portion was very small and vegetables very much blended together. We both agreed that though both our starters were quite nice, we would prefer something simpler. Both starters seemed to be a bit over-complicated. We both had salmon for main course and really enjoyed it. I had a gluten free option, with mashed potatoes instead of potato scones. It was a delicious meal, although I found that there was a little bit too much sauce on the plate for my taste. My friend had her salmon with potato scones, but she said she would have preferred mashed potatoes instead, as it somehow tastes better with salmon. We didn’t have a pudding, but ordered hot drinks (decaf coffee abd decaf tea). The drinks were fine, but arrived a bit out of sinc, with coffee arriving later than tea. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the atmosphere was so nice, that we didn’t want to leave and stayed there chatting for a long time. The restaurant got a bit busier, but there were still empty tables, it never became too busy or noisy.

We had diner and breakfast in the Castle Restaurant in Fisher's Hotel. the evening meal was ok. I enjoyed my started of a duo of salmon but my wife's ham hock terrine was rather tasteless. We both had the beef stew which was fine but the deserts were awful. I had cranachan which was simply double cream with minimal purey in a brandy basket, my wife had panna cotta which was hard. Both were excessively sweet. The restaurant is large but the guests were at back seat in a row ... as far as possible from the feature fireplace. Unfortunately, language seemed to be a problem with the staff. Breakfast was cooked to order which was good but the produce (except the bacon) were of poor quality. The continental selection was laughable.

Couldn't get out of there quick enough. I booked in advance and we found ourselves seated in the ballroom downstairs. Well it had the same atmosphere as a 3 star cafeteria. Terrible with staff constantly walking past in & out to access the kitchen. If you're thinking about adding the sirloin steak at an extra 7.95 above the set menu don't. My husband did & it was terrible, lots of gristle he couldn't eat. Mentioned our disappointment in our location & food quality to staff who couldn't give a damn. This establishment is more concerned with getting as many covers in as possible rather than customers satisfaction. If you do happen to go make sure you are seated in the proper restaurant or do yourself a favour & don't go.

The menu had a good choice and range of food and wine. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We thought the price was excellent and decided we would dine here on our second night. Thankfully the menu is displayed in reception during the day. Second night menu was exactly the same as the previous nights except for one different main option. There are lots of good things about this restaurant. The staff are very attentive and yet discreet. The food was actually really good - after an initial rocky start (the wife's starter, a savoury beetroot themed take on panacotta didn't really have any flavour), our mains (the rump steak and lambs liver packed flavour punch and were cooked to perfection). We both loved our desserts - chocolate mousse and pear/blackberry crumble. The wine was also good (and while pricey, no more than you would pay for a nice bottle in a restaurant in Glasgow)We had brought a nice change of clothes to have dinner in, but on arrival at the hotel, we decided just to go down to dinner in jeans - the clientele are a mixed bunch, lots of hiking clothes (the guy eating at the next table was so comfortable, he took his trainers off!!)The atmosphere is a little strange - the room is massive and well lit, sporting a traditional Scottish theme with tartan and lots of reproductions of Scottish paintings dotted about. But the music is distinctly european and very laid back - combined with the (fantastic) foreign staff, it makes for a confused experience. Not some thing that would put you off your food, but a little odd. Breakfast was pretty standard hotel buffet - not awful, but not brilliant.

Stayed here many times. Central Location. Very handy for Enchanted Forest pick up. Small car park but now has barrier control meaning residents have more chance of getting a space. Spacious bedroom . Clean and bright. Bathroom with bath and shower. Bed comfy but disappointed with pillow quality.Unusually for hotels these days - no option of decaf coffee on hospitality tray. “No demand” apparently. The freeze dried coffee supplied wasn’t particularly good. After the fire which the hotel sufferered earlier this year, there is still a lot of construction going on and the garden, completely churned up due to the ongoing work. Since last visit, the breakfast room decor has changed. Mostly fine but for some very strange reason, tartan material has been draped over the light shades. very odd. Not a good look.

My family of 5 (two adults three kids aged 5 and under) went here for dinner as we getting the bus to the enchanted forest from the hotel and thought it would be convenient. As with many Scottish hotels you are greeted with old wood and old carpets and we were shown through to what looked like a school or scout camp cafeteria via steps secured with gaffer tape. We order fish and chips for the adults which had clearly being cooked earlier and for the kids fish bites which were pale beige and dry, chicken bites which were quite possibly the lowest quality meat I have ever seen - clearly cheap processed meat which was shocking to look at and taste to the point that my 3 year old couldn't eat it and cheesy pasta which was average at best but a bit watery. The chips were OK and that's about as generous as I can be.

Okay, we were part of a large group, and there were several other groups included in the large dining hall. Although service was quick and efficient, most of our party remarked at the small size of the portions. Mass catering is not the best way to judge food quality, but there is no excuse for offering poor value for money. Not worth the £30 a head (plus drinks) we paid. As an example, we had previously eaten at Mackays, which offered twice the portion size at half the price.

I called in at Fisher's Hotel as I was travelling through the area and needed a quick evening meal - was delighted that the restaurant was open to non-residents. The corridor from the hotel reception through to the restaurant was a bit stark and narrow. However, it's a spacious dining room with attentive staff. Service was prompt, and price very reasonable. There was an adequate range of menu choices and I was sorry I only had time for a main course. The steak I ordered was cooked perfectly, and the quantity of Diane sauce (in a separate sauce boat) was impressive! Our 1-night stay had an adequate room, w/ a good shower. Everything in our room worked. We were in the rear, so we didn't hear traffic noise. Our window opened to fresh air & the beginnings of a garden. Fisher's is under construction - their official hotel parking lot seems to be a staging/storage area for construction. I found glass around our parked car. After that, we paid for town parking. When questioned about medical care, the front desk was barely helpful, refusing to call ahead for us, which would have helped, since the Minor Illness/Injury Clinic closed 5 hours early due to no staff. We paid £109 for a double w/ breakfast. My b'fast coffee had coffee oil on the surface. The room coffee's milk left small clots of milk on top ( starting to spoil ).

We popped in to have dinner before we got the bus to the Enchanted Forest. I suspect the hotel gets a lot of trade from the Enchanted Forest crowd, so it was disappointing to be given the runaround.First we went in to the public bar but there were no tables, so the barman told us to go into the hotel proper. We did, and at that bar we were told we could sit there, or go to the restaurant. As we had a four year old and a seven year old we wanted to sit at a proper table rather than a coffee table, so we opted to go to the restaurant. When we got there, a rather officious maitre-d' asked us - rudely - if we had a table booked. The restaurant was empty as it wasn't even 5 pm by that point and even though I explained we were just looking for a quick meal (i.e. we'd be freeing up his table again quickly) he steered us towards an overflow room with tables in it. The waiter who took served us - Bartek - was very good, taking our order and delivering our food promptly. Even trying to pay was problematic. There was nowhere in the overflow room to pay. There was nowhere in the hotel bar to pay by card (just a cash box). I eventually paid at the reception area, but even that was met with a sense of me putting her out. I wouldn't recommend the place, especially as there are so many other options available. On the plus side, my baked potato was nice.

The staff in the restaurant were charming and efficient and the dinner menu offered a good choice, which unfortunately didn't quite live up to expectations. We started our meal with a chicken Waldorf salad and garlic mushrooms. The salad was laced with crunchy pieces of apple, but lacked sufficient walnuts to give it flavour. The mushrooms were served in a cream sauce, topped with a crouton of garlic bread. The sauce soaked into the garlic crouton, making it rather soggy and difficult to cut on the small serving plate. Main courses were a cajun spiced chicken breast served with a chasseur sauce and a beef en daube, both were served with mashed potato, spiced red cabbage and peas. Each dish was topped with a garnish of crispy fried onions and both plates looked remarkably similar. The cajun spice jarred a bit with the chasseur sauce - too many flavours, but the beef en daube was delicious and the meat very tender. The merlot wine to accompany the meal and the cheese and biscuits to follow were very good.Breakfast service in the restaurant was excellent, with plenty of staff to assist guests to tables, to ensure prompt delivery of tea and coffee and also to clear plates. The breakfast buffet area was large and spacious and kept tidily stocked with both hot and cold items. The potato scones were delightful.Plates for hot food were kept nicely warm and small dishes were provided for jam & marmalade selections.

The food was well cooked but lacked imagination in presentation. This is possibly die to the fact that it appears to cater for pensioners on package holidays.

Fishers is right in the centre of Pitlochry, a large building and easily found. Off street parking is a big help. The menu is varied and well priced. As you might expect fish is always an option here. There are bar options that provide all the essentials for food drink and TV.

Stayed at Fisher's as part of a murder mystery package. Old fashioned, but clean and very comfortable. Staff were very efficient and eager to please. Large double room which was clean and well presented. Good value.

Very acceptable for hotel food. I enjoyed it all although sometimes the food could have been hotter. Cheese is served straight out of the fridge which I really don't like. Breakfasts were excellent.

Asked for a twin room, given a cramped double, changed to a spartan twin where the rain hammered off the sloping dormer window throughout the night. Dinner was very poor, fish was, sent back and the steak pie was the poorest my husband had tasted, tables not too clean. At the entrance to the dining area was a glass dish with a handwritten thank you for gratuities! Hotel bar like a morgue so went next door where the bar was warm, busy and entertaining. This hotel needs to decide for which client group it wishes to cater.

Hôtel très grand et assez confortable. Certaines chambres ne sont pas accessibles avec un ascenseur et il vaut mieux être en forme pour monter les valises Restaurant sans intérêt mais bon petit-déjeuner

An excellent service provided by well trained staff congratulations to manager Brian Wishart and events organiser Krissy for leading a team of workers professional in customer care. Without exception all staff went out of their way to ensure a service of the highest. The comfort of the accommodation and provision of well balanced and enjoyable food all contributed to an excellent stay. The organisation for the conference was well received. Thank you for all that was done for the 70 retired personnel who all speak highly of the service & comfort provided for them during their stay here.

We ate on the bar here on a midweek evening. The food was decent quality and far better priced than most other menus we had seen in the town. Service was excellent.

Once of the best hotel dining experiences I have ever had. Food was fantastic. Everyone (from a group of 30+) was able to find something to suit their tastes. Good portions as well. Will be back.

We had an excellent weekend at Fishers hotel the staff welcomed us on arrival and were on hand to meet our needs throughout our stay. Definitely stay there again. This hotel is in the muddle of being upgraded and our room had a lovely new walkin shower. The food was excellent and served to a very high standard. I'm looking forward to going to our dancing weekend next February 17.

Started badly and ended badly! We went into the hotel for an evening meal. We asked at reception where to go and a pleasant lady showed us where to go, this was the first and last taste of good customer service.Entering the restaurant we encountered a waiter and he asked us for a room number, when we said we weren't guests and just looking to dine, he told us to wait and he would go ask his manager? (The place was empty!)He returned and said it was ok and showed us to a table. He came back offered us water and took our order. Starters arrived and we're just okay, not great. Then we waited almost an hour for our main course. Other customers were coming in being served starters then mains, offered drinks and we still sat there like a couple if lemons! Eventually we managed to get someone's attention and asked if we could have drinks and our main course. A guy that looked like he was in charge then apologised and still it took another 10 minutes for him to bring our drinks. Main meal eventually arrived and my husband's food was cold, mine was warm. We had decided at this point we just wanted out of there we felt so ackward like they didn't want us there. I went to the bathroom as my husband went up to pay ( no point waiting on being noticed asking for the bill!)When I came out the bathroom my husband was standing at the front doors in a hurry to get out. He explained he had been charged double and had to actually argue he was right and the waiter was wrong!!We will never go back here again has to be the worst experience ever. Oh and although we had an apology of sorts when we were waiting on our meal, they did not see fit to offer a sweetener of any sort. Even if they had offered our drinks free by way of apology it would have been something, but no, nothing. We did not leave a tip!!!

Having eaten here many times in the past I can honestly say I was delighted with the food served here during my recent overnight stay. It has greatly improved, with a good choice of delicious Scottish fare.I had Cullen Skink to begin and followed by Lamb as a main course. What was really impressive was the choice of Gluten Free dishes available. My wife was able to choose from at least four main dishes, which is impressive indeed as normally we are restricted in most hotels to a few. A real bonus for Coeliacs.to have such choice. The portions were more than adequate and the taste very good indeed.

A wide range of choices on the main dining restaurant menu and the bar restaurant too. I can recommend the fish, braised steak and cajun chicken. Their starters are so good and wait til you see the desserts!! You won't be disappointed!!

Visited this hotel when we went to the Enchanted Forest. It was Hallowe'en, very busy and we had not booked but they managed to seat 8 of us for a meal. The staff were dressed for the occassion - we were served by a mummy while Dracula made sure everything ran smoothly and a witch took our drinks order. We all had a delicious two course (you could have three) meal at a very reasonable price and incredibly the three kids ate for free.

What a special spot to sit and drink in the beauty of the River Tummel, the Pitlochery Dam and the “Wobbly” bridge. Mercedes was always delightful and the cakes were yummy. Have a beer or a glass of wine and just enjoy the rare air in this part of the Highlands!

Travelled 160 mile round trip to try deep fried salmon that I had read about. Saw white pudding on the menu and got that as well. With chips. 2 friends and my spouse as well really enjoyed the food. The owner was very friendly and jovial but not over the top. Had the tartar sauce as well. A lovely wee place with great food and service.

Not bad, a normal fish & chips would be ~£12.95 Seafood + an extra fish was ~£40 which was steeper Quite full during dinner on a weekend but relatively fast service There’s water for self service and a toilet in the adjacent hotel of the same name
