The Dun Cow offers an amazing menu every day of the week, catering for all. We love to go out for Sunday lunch but so often you can only get a Sunday Dinner, which we don't want. The Dun Cow serves an excellent selection of sandwiches, served with a delicious side salad and chips. They do serve wonderful roast dinners as well, if that's what you like. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The roaring fires in winter make it warm and welcoming, whilst the lovely outside seating area is great for sunny days. We'll be back.

First time here. Was met by a friendly guy who i assume is the manager who found us a nice table. It’s a Beautifully decorated pub, modern but with an old world charm. The Service was spot on with at least 3 waitresses and the manager all very friendly, attentive and helpful. I had Lamb Henry and the wife a huge fish with chips. The food was really tasty and the best pub grub I've had for some time. I also had several ales which were excellent. We Will definitely return, can’t fault it. 5/5

We didn't have any food this time, just called in for a drink on our way home to Blackpool. It's a lovely place inside, and all the Staff were very smart and efficient. We will definitely be back for a meal with you. Thank you

It's the responsibility of the restaurant to provide a service if they accept a booking, sadly very poor service and disappointing food for our family gathering and blamed on a busy local event. Yes they gave us a discount but we would have preferred the dinner and service

Fabulous evening with relaxed atmosphere. Menu and food was delicious and plentiful. We couldn’t fault the service, location or price. We will definitely enjoy more meals and drinks in the future.

Went to a 90th birthday party and managed to sit outside until 7pm. The buffet was excellent, and the landlord and staff really looked after us. A very pleasant early doors.

We stopped here on the way back after a wasted trip up North to buy a bike, as an alternative to motorway services. Very dog friendly, both the landlady and landlord came over, fussed our dog and chatted with us. Well trained staff and the food and drink were excellent. Don’t often head that way but would be happy to use again in the future. Thanks :)

Lovely setting just a few miles outside Knutsford. We're to big eaters so I ordered a starter for a main and my wife small fit and chips. I had chicken wings which I felt overdone.I thought they were good value but only ate half and asked to take home what I left..They came wrapped in foil, not big deal but I probably expected a small container as in other places.My Wife thought the chips were overcooked, but I thought they were great. Driven passed its to times and its easy to park with lots of outdoor space for warm weather. Not sure well return.

I have eaten here before with my colleagues and service and food were excellent. Today I had a lovely meal with my husband service and food were excellent we had good portion sizes and it was well worth the money.

Visited this place on Sunday with my son having booked at the last minute. Arrived a bit early but was given a table immediately. Came to take drinks order as soon as we sat down. Starter arrived quickly followed by Sunday roast mains, lamb and beef. All the food we ordered was excellent, hot and fresh. Very impressed and not sure why I haven't been to this place before when it is fairly local. Definitely be going again and would highly recommend.

Traditional country pub, steak pie was great, big portion.

Old country pub on a sharp bend in the road, close to Knutsford. It';s a Robinsons pub so you might like their beer you might not (Hopnik is about the best IMO), but the food is the real draw here. My steak pie was proper (as in, not a dish of casserole with a lid), loads of lovely tender & tasty meat, good chips and particularly good veg cooked properly (as in, not much). One of the best pub meals I've had in a while.

Came on a Sunday and disappointed at some of the food. For starters we had 3 pieces of rubber calamari for £10!! Shocking portion for the price. Scampi and chips was lovely. But someone had to Greek salad, which it wasn’t. Iceberg lettuce a couple of tomatoes a couple of olives and a bit of crumbled feta. Very disappointed that they called it a Greek salad. And tiny portion and dribble of dressing.

Stayed overnight in camper-van on car park. The car park was not tarmac but was level. The staff were friendly and attentive. Good menu, reasonably priced. Had a lovely meal with decent portions. Some seating inside by a lovely open fire. Good atmosphere. Well worth returning to.

We had a really lovely meal. Freshly prepared and cooked. The cheese and biscuits were great and even provided a doggy bag as too much to eat! We stayed on the car park in our campervan and couldn't have been made welcome. Thankyou to Curtis and all your team.

We were here for celebration of my husband's 80th birthday - 7 members of family. Very good service and care, and excellent food. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and this included lighting the candles on our cake and serving it up instead of dessert. Our plates were so full of the main course, no dessert could have been fitted in after! We'd had generous portions of various items on the menu and all beautifully cooked and served. Thank you to the staff for making it a memorable lunch, and we will certainly return. Can recommend.

We met a friend for lunch. We all had different meals that were lovely. The steak pie was out of this world. Everyone friendly apart from one lady who was efficient but not very pleasant. However ghe whole experience was great. My crumble and custard not the best but the waffle and ice cream was good. Would go again if only for the steak pie.

Have heard about the Dun Cow but this was my first visit and I wasn't disappointed. Lovely inside. Staff were really friendly. Had the steak pie and i can honestly say it was the best steak pie I had ever had. Would definitely go again and recommend others to go. For those of you that love a Sunday Roast they also offer a Roast every day of the week.

The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. Price and value was good. You get what you pay for. And must say they have got it right . Well done will definitely be returning.

Another amazing visit to the Dun Cow. My mums 80th birthday celebration with 9 of us! My mum has dementia and the team were fantastic with her. The food and service were outstanding! Something for everyone. Traditional pub Fayre and some lovely specials. My wife loved the bouillabaisse!

We needed somewhere to eat on our way back home from the RHS Bridgewater as the food on offer there at lunch was not considered fulfilling for us. We drove past the Dun Cow as it was on a corner and cars were close behind to allow us to slow down and turn into the car park, so we continued until we could turn round, we past a garden centre down the road and thought we would try that instead. But our instincts said return to the Dun Cow. We are so pleased we did. It was late in the afternoon and not sure if they would be serving food, but to our delight they were. We were shown to a table, it was quite busy even then, so that speaks volumes. My wife ordered the Breast of Chicken, and I ordered the Pork Loins. The wait for the food was well worth it. The food was amazing, it was well presented and tasty. The price was reasonable too. The staff were very friendly. And the pub was well kept. Compliments to the Chef too. Well done team. If we are in the area again, we will certainly be back.

Sunday roast was great. Staff were really helpful.

We went for dinner with 6. Never been before but driven by many times. When we arrived our table was not ready and we were slightly shoved in the corner, but we were soon taken to our table. Great choice on the menu, well cooked food, friendly warm service and good prices. Couldn’t ask for more - we will be back

Called after a wet dog walk after work greeted by the manager who was very attentive got us a lovely seat next to a roaring fire, really nice environment with great staff who really make you feel welcome. Lovely old vintage warm pub didn’t eat but the food smelt and looked amazing.

Amazing service, considering we were in a party of 21. All food came in good time and all orders were correct. Very impressed.

Went here for my husband's birthday at lunchtime as a family. Good choice of food. We really enjoyed our meals and not far from Tatton Park. Owner and staff friendly. We will return here

Casual Atmosphere and always busy yet that has not affected the staff or service levels when we have eaten here. Now done to the important bit, the food...which is slightly on the more expensive side for a pub. However, you get what you pay for and you leave with no regrets.

Can not rate the customer care highly enough. My mum has dementia and whilst can still go out she cant drink alcohol on her medication. We phoned ahead to explain and took a bottle of zero wine for my mum. The team were so understanding. We had chicken wings, fish, gammon and steak - very traditional pub grub, all excellent. We had a bottle of quality chardonnay and a great Malbec. This is our 3rd visit with mum over the last year. She and us always enjoy the visit. Great pub with quality management and a great team. We will be back! Thank you

The food was pleasant but lunch was spoiled by staff indifference. We ordered some drinks, they arrived promptly but were just placed on the end of the table. When we ordered food, one of our guests hadn’t decided, so we were advised that the staff member would take the orders of those that had decided. After the main course we were offered dessert menus, they arrived by being thrown on the table. We were left with the impression that the staff didn’t care about customer service. It doesn’t take much effort to be pleasant and courteous. We won’t be visiting the Dun Cow again.

A very pleasant country style Pub/restaurant. We visited the week Pubs opened. Very hesitant checking out how busy it was. But we were very pleasantly welcomed by the Landlady and after choosing a table were well looked after. No hassle, quiet - well organised and laid out for distancing - felt very comfortable and relaxed - great service and good chat with Landlord. Robinson's house - great pint. Opening later that week for Food. Intend eating here sometime in the future .

Food normally very good, today not so good. I had cheese and onion pie, which I nearly always have. Today was nothing more than disgusting mush in pastry.

Very nice, cozy place. Food seems really nice, although on the dear side and portion was a bit small. It will be a nice place to visit during summer as there are outdoor seats to enjoy the weather. Location is more on the roadside and can be easily identified with sufficient parking space for punters. Customer service is really impressive, I must confess. I will be visiting again during the summer ☀️ .

We went for Sunday lunch today in a group of seven friends. We had a leisurely, relaxed and quite delicious lunch, with most of us managing three courses, with drinks, and coffee to follow. From start to finish, the service was efficient and friendly and every dish was attractively presented, hot and full of flavour. I have reviewed the Dun Cow a number of times over the years and have never failed to give it a deserved five stars. This is a genuine pub, with excellent food, where you know that you're going to be well looked after. Thank you, Tracy and Curtis, and please continue to do just what you're doing now - it's a great formula. 😁😁

Food is always top of the range especially Sunday roasts. Also try their's specialities they are veriest of dishes depending on a day. Highly recommended for a family gatherings.
