Busy because football was on, bar was understaffed and staff tried very hard but long waits to get drinks, however a young man called Luka was brilliant at service throughout the restaurant he made a huge difference to our visit. Very attentive even though he was rushed off his feet

Mot enough barstaff and very noisy

Ideal place to go for decent traditional pub grub, a few pints and a game of pool. Staff are excellent even when busy.

Main meal was superb 👌 but unfortunately the desert was really disappointing considering the cost of it. My tip would be get the kids chocolate cake just as much and a lot more satisfying than the adults 1 at double the price.

Staff were friendly and very accommodating (and made a tonne of fuss for my dog). Roasts tasted great and came out rapid, puddings were superb. I recommend the blondie to anyone with taste buds. Very happy.

We visited tonight with family and friends, we have been on several occasions and never had a bad experience, tonight it was incredibly busy and we were served by Atlanta, only a young girl, she was so polite tentative and smiley, she made sure we had everything we needed as she did for everybody else in the restaurant, even though she looked like she was on her own she never failed to make everybody feel welcomed and looked after and she even gave us recommendations for deserts which we went on to order and really enjoy, the food was incredible, hot and flavourful, also Charlotte on the bar was lovely helping us with everything also so friendly and polite. Overall I would highly recommend as I always have! Thank you for brilliant service!

This is mine and my partner’s go-to pub at the weekends. Can’t fault this place. It’s cosy, dog friendly, great food and great service all around. Been so many times and never had an issue.

It's ok for drinks, they have sport on good sized TVs, a beer garden and play area, however, the food is grim. Poor quality cooked terribly. I wouldn't even feed a dog what was served for Sunday roast!

Came here to have breakfast watching the rugby. Couldn’t do enough for us. Good coffee , friendly atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Couldn’t be better.

After recently moving to the area we have only been here twice, Jamie on the bar is brilliant! She remembered our drinks from a few weeks ago, we were served swiftly, also she was very chatty and bubbly and genuinely interested in what we had to say. We ate in the outdoor area, which is pleasantly decorated with a wide screen telly and canopy, always a plus with our weather! Atlanta brought our tea to the table and was equally chatty and engaging. Also need to give a quick mention to Charlie who works on the bar for his efficiency, would highly recommend to anyone, great atmosphere, wish we could have stayed for the quiz, another Thursday 🤔

Arranged to come here for breakfast at 11am with a friend. It wasn't open, so we had to sit outside until someone eventually unlocked the door just after 11.15. We went in to order, only to then be told the kitchen wasn't going to be open until 12 o clock. No reason or apology given by the staff, who looked grumpy and like they couldn't care less. This is the third time we've gone for food and the kitchen has been shut during advertised opening hours.

About £14 on a sunday i deffo wont be going back again

Tiny portions and cold food. Brought Sunday roast back dried up and microwaved. No mash either with it! My friend ordered fish and chips but it looked like a kiddy meal. Even only got half a pot of tea. After going before refurb and food was good, I was shocked at this.

Ordered the blue burger then realized after eating they had not put the blue cheese on I informed the waitress who just laughed

Called in after visiting superbike factory the 3 of us had a meal and drinks can't fault it very good

We went just to grab a dinner, however both my companions had some stomach ache afterwards. They had Buffalo chips and classic burger. I had chicken katsu burger. It was very nice but I must say that i missed a vegetable in this meal. No salad. The service was cold, no smile. But the pub itself got nice interrior.

Had a fabulous Christmas meal here. The new refurbished place is wonderful . Staff are very attentive. I was not aware I hadn't posted this . It's a wonderful place to eat and drink. I went yesterday. Harry the waiter is so polite and friendly. A credit to his team and family.

We went knowing what it is, order food and pay at the bar and the food is brought to the table. Surprised at the quality of the food for the price, nothing special but better than some establishments with this format, we all had Sunday roasts. The draught Beer is well kept and the service quite good for the amount of customers present (bank holiday weekend). The grounds are quite extensive with a childs play area, a covered patio and picnic type tables in the garden. There is also a large car park. We all enjoyed our visit.

Ordered the sirloin for £16.. received 2 onion rings and a handful of chips. Sirloin was 20% fat but cooked to order. Portions are a joke. They have the option during ordering to add sauces and toppings for £1.50 each approx. Massively disappointed. Service was quick though.

Chole who served was very polite and accommodating. It's nice to see staff that care about there customers. Had the catzu chicken burger was good . Nice new menu at a very reasonable prices. I would expect to pay more been in Cheshire. Thank you we will return.

Sharing platter we ordered hit tho spot. Calamari was undercooked which left me disappointed.

Been in a couple of times now and the food is delicious, comes out nice and hot. The waitress was very attentive checking that everything was OK. Very good experience everytime we have been. Highly recommend.

Disappointing to find the new menu had little choice and the food was substandard. Meat and 2 veg.! I literally hasn’t veg consisted of 2 measly peices of broccoli. My usual haunt is far superior and cheaper. Won’t be returning.

3 main bitter beers were off at 9pm - bar manager said nobody to change them, 3 mains sold out on Menu- good Singer made up for disappointing meal.

Stopped by for a quick drink after a walk and got tempted by the steak Thursday offer! The chef James was excellent! Lovely guy, obviously a natural people person, and the food was all cooked to perfection - can’t argue at £13.50! Everyone loved it; will definitely pop by again.

The website says the establishment is a Hungry Horse. I had vouchers from Tesco, the only reason I was eating there. I had to pay for 2 meals which I couldn’t really afford which left me in a rather embarrassing situation. You need to update your website.

Very disappointed !!!! 6pm on a Sat evening, a party of 5 we attempted to place our order via the app, 3 out of the 5 items we ordered was showing as SOLD OUT/UNAVAILABLE. We attempted to choose alternatives, only to be told the same. As we had a voucher we assumed there was a fault with the offer. We then went to the counter & waited 15/20 mins in a Que … again placed our order & was told exactly the same information as the app gave us, the body language from lady serving us was awful, she was very irritable while we made our 2nd & even 3rd choices as, in her words ‘they were busy and had very little food left to serve’… ???? We eventually got to the payment gave her our voucher code only to be told we had just redeemed it on the app & she was unable to honour the voucher… How could you possibly redeem the voucher when no payments were made??? Hence our efforts to order food from the bar. We can only review on the service as we left without eating. Needless to say … it was not a good experience & can’t see us visiting here again. I just hope they have a food supplier who delivers on Sunday’s or it’s possible they will be dissapointing a lot more potential customers.

3rd time iv visited this fine establishment and its even better looks slightly different than 8 months ago so not sure if it's had a slight change but looks nice. And the food was incredible kiddies enjoyed there ice creams

Saw the mixed reviews and was a bit reluctant to go, but was pleasantly surprised. As Greene King pubs go - and as a regular traveller all over the UK I've seen a few - this is one of the good ones. The staff are friendly and attentive. The beer selection is decent enough. The food isn't the most exciting in the world (it's still a Greene King) but good for the price. They also show the sport, but only on one side of the pub so you can avoid it if you want. Would happily visit again.

Sunday lunch looked nice but came only warm staff just said sorry but didnot offer to hot it up We have tried but will not go again

Took my lad for a birthday tea he had the fish n chips I had the bacon cheese burger both meals were bang on the service was perfect then lad was only short but very helpful I wanted to tip but no cash definitely owe him a pint

Bar was very slow on service we did not like where we sat underneath a TV with everybody looking then to be told table was needed at 5 pm was Not happy spoilt my 70th birthday there was a party of 12

Lovely food enjoyed the Katsu curry and the Gammon reasonably priced and good offers and variety. Great to watch the football here with multiple screens and good atmosphere

Update - after leaving a poor review, I was contacted by the manager and we were asked if we'd like to return and try again at their expense. We took them up on this today and our experience has been completely different. We've enjoyed a delicious, hot meal and polite, friendly service. Thank you Tracy for inviting us back. We will now be returning in the future. 😊 We thought we'd pop out for a quick lunch and given all the hype around the refurb, we thought we'd give it a go. We waited a fair time for our food - fish and chips and a cheese burger and chips. When it came, it was all cold. Staff apologised and took it away. After another wait, our second attempt arrived. This time the chips were hot but the rest we can only say was warmer. There was no cheese on my cheese burger. When a member of staff asked if all was OK, we explained. We were told they were sorry and it was very busy and our food had come straight out of the oven. No response to the lack of cheese on my burger. We were told things have got so much better and please give us another try. Sorry but you had your chance and other than replacing our food, made no attempt to make any sort of recompense. We spent just over £25 for this so no, we will not be coming again!

Been here twice now for my birthday and my mums birthday, first journey in December 23 like a week after it first opened again after a refurbishment, & again mid January 24 and oh my gosh was just beautiful, no complaints , food , desserts drinks were lovely, Jamie the waitress on the January occasion couldn't do enough for us her service was top notch & staff have gone above and beyond each time we've been there. Credit where its due. Thanks

Didnt order food as was told the wait would be significant. Wpuld try again as the good that did come out looked good. Since the redevelopment, the pub is increadibly improved, the beer is well kept and the staff excellent.

We found the staff very friendly, helpful & efficient. We chose our meal from the Seniors menu, which at £7.99 for 3 courses is excellent value. All courses were good & food hot. We have recommended to friends & will definitely be going back again.

Very nice place. Good stuff but meal came very cold. Had to send back to have it warmed up which was was not a good start but did come back perfect. So quite happy with what we had but would not put me off. Going back will be going back soon

I've been in over xmas after its revamp. The atmosphere is still dull, and the beer is expensive and tastes very weak. But the place itself looks better. I did notice some shoddy decorating and wooden panels hanging off in the men's toilet,

I went in last week with friends and we were all stunned at how nice the place looks following the refurb. Staff are super lovely and all work very hard considering how busy they were that day - it was packed! Very short wait time at the bar and there was also a quiz on at the time which everyone was enjoying. Will definitely be returning.

The food is okay. The service is great. The new decor is definitely an improvement.

Kept getting bothered before even finishing the meal and even before we left one of the waiters kept coming to the table to rearrange the menus in the tray holder, put the knives and forks back in and put more napkins in the holder. Didn't even ask for it to be done, kept leaning over us while we where still there. Never in my life have I experienced that before 😂. Completely rude, probably if I ordered dessert something would of been said to his face eventually. Laughable to be honest. Also to note he rearranged the menus on our table while me and my partner where talking, completely awkward and ruined the mood.

Only went a few months ago I believe it's changed hands in that time yes I know due to covid19 restrictions staff I had contacted with were very polite and curious but it was the lack of staff about and the quality of food how things change in the last time till now food smaller portions than i remember had mixed grill but now menu changed mixed-ish grill minus the steak. Also had a Sunday dessert still came home packet of biscuits they also Forgot the sausage on mine Forgot the egg of my partners so not a great experience. Update since changing hands went up for a family gathering. Place looks really nice since the refurbishment but meal and drink prices your really paying for the refurbishment use to go every few months now be a while before a I go again. You can tell your close to Tytherington estate and a waitrose petrol station lol. Had mixed grill steak under cooked although asked for well done.

The new refurb is very nice. However they could’ve made a better choice of manager as the woman was very rude to us for no reason.

Having been a regular customer since the 1980's I decided to call in and sample the hospitality at early doors on Tuesday I enjoyed 2 and a half pints of lager at the bar (at a price that was 20 percent higher than before the refurb). The bar staff were pleasant and efficient, I saw several friends of old. Then the landlady asked me to find a seat as they don't have drinking at the bar. I finished my third pint and am unlikely to return.

Visited on 9th Dec 2023 first night after reopening now run by Greene King. Very attentive friendlly staff Food good. Big footy TV in the bar Big footy TV in the large decked smoking area out the back. Full refit throughout. Certain to return

Little drive out needed some food , this was the closest to where we was & it was a nice larger than it looked place . Clean even though it was getting some roof repair work done. Very friendly staff & as always with Hungry horse pub food is on point. This painting was interesting! We still can find out what dog the small one is ... but it was out topic of conversation for at least half an hour...

Absolutely awful food, microwaved to death, no taste, cold/ Luke warm. Worst meal I have ever been presented with and I have had some bad ones over the years.

Great time here as we always do. Called in on friday for early doors very busy . And saturday for food Manager and his wife was on as short staffed .felt sorry for them as it was very busy . Gutted to hear they are leaving ,great couple who have turned the place around ,it is now a pub that is clean friendly and welcoming with less undesirables,they will be missed .
