I had an issue with the food but the manager stepped up to resolve it, so I was left happy. Great place to watch the football if you're central.

I visit every week, it's a great place to spend time with friends, the staff is very polite and very positive, especially Irene, and the food is also very good.

Popped here for lunch, friendly and efficient service, reasonable food, decent beers, Sky Sports and a break from the chaos of shopping!

Party of 8 people. First Gentleman was very friendly and got us a table. I went to the bar to ask the girl behind the bar if they have a children’s menu. I was met with a grimace and she just barked ‘NO’ at me, so much my friends on the table heard her. Embarrassing we brought our family from New York to a British pub and received probably the worst service ever. Being in the hospitality industry and knowing the service I give to what I received appalls me and also disappoints me It was as clear to see that the girl didn’t want to be there - maybe go get a job in an office or better off get a job where you can WFH so you don’t have to ruin peoples day with your grimace

A lovely traditional British pub just off Oxford Street. Perfect for a quick and calm break from the shopping. Very friendly staff that gave us some tips for the rest of our visit to London. Highly recommended!

Kaz the manager is the best! After leaving my bag in the pub, she chased me down the street. Thanks for going out of your way, care like that is hard to come across in London! Make sure you visit for a brilliant atmosphere and proper traditional pub - it’s central and not overrun with tourists. Even better if you catch Karaoke night!

Such an amazing place to visit for food and drinks especially the manager Michael were great. Will definitely come back.

Lovely atmosphere with great service. Was served by Michael was friendly and very polite. Drinks are good with a variety for all. Didn’t have food so can’t comment on that but meals look decent when they brought them out around me for other people.

Very good food especially the Sunday roasts are so yummy and the ground staff are so much friendly and always welcoming I recommend everyone to come here and have Sunday roast the crispy potatoes & York Shire pudding is top notch 🥰

I can't think of a worse meal out I've had this year, it was genuinely awful. I took my team out for a pre Christmas bite to eat and honestly, it was embarrassing! I had to increase our table number twice in the lead up to the day and it was a nightmare to even get them to answer their phone. When we arrived we were wedged onto two tiny tables which was very awkward. The waitress (bless her) was very sweet but struggled to communicate with us. Drinks wise it was definitely the worst pint of Guinness I've had this year. And then there was the food. It was terrible, genuinely terrible. Stale bread on the steak sandwich, macaroni cheese looked like it was out of a tin and on and on and on. It was genuinely a bit insulting to be served this considering the price it cost. Genuinely much worse than a Wetherspoons / Hungry Horse style cheap and cheerful meal. This place needs a kick up the backside. It's in a prime location and whoever was running it the day we were there clearly didn't care. When you hear stories of pubs going out of business every week, places like this offering hopeless products and services are unforgivable!!

Dropped by for a pint on Christmas Eve. The staff was absolutely lovely and gave us so many recommendations to eat and sightsee during the Christmas holidays. Will be coming back for sure!

Lovely little old bar to escape the absolute chaos outside whilst visiting at Christmas time. Guy behind the bar was friendly and obviously enjoys his job as he was dancing and singing.

The lady landlord is very good at her job The help she had was very poor he had to be told what to do all of the time.. The result was that when lunch time came there was a very long queue. So we had to go across the road to get our lunch

Saturday afternoon went in for food and a drink. Ordered 2x steak and chips which after an hour still hadn’t arrived so went to ask. 15 minutes later it became apparent one of our intended meals had gone to another table, and the other was brought over and we were asked if would mind waiting for the other. Given that we had already waited well over an hour and that why was offered was not steak a& chips but rather 7 or 8 squares of overcooked cold beef we declined and got a refund thanks to the barmaid on shift who was the only member of staff who seemed to have a clue. Good place for a drink, if wanting food avoid like the plague.

Lovely atmosphere, our table was in a nice cosy position that allowed for good conversation. It was a birthday meal and the staff brought out a little poinsettia as a gift which was really heartwarming and totally unexpected, really loved it <3

Spend an entire week in London with multiple trips to the Duke of York since it was down he street from the hotel. Fantastic fish and chips, every Sam Smith beer you could ever want. The bar staff on both floors were exceptional. Unbelievable atmosphere.

I needed to use the toilet after just getting engaged at hyde park. I walked in and immediately a middle aged women cornered me and said ‘why are you here?’ I said ‘is there a toilet i can use?’ She said ‘No, you didnt ask’ and guided me out and put herself against the door while a younger woman (member of staff) tried to say directions through the door to a place that may have a toilet.

Picturesque place with different atmospheres depending on the floor you are on. We had four pints for €16, comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.

Great pub, great prices, great staff! We popped in for fish and chips and a few brews with our baby, they were even kind enough to help us bring in the stroller. Absolutely recommend this place!

Mediocre, overpriced. £15.90 for a cheese toastie and chips, with half a vinegary lager on the side. Was initially asked if I wanted to get a pint instead as it would be cheaper on the lunch deal, only to be told I was actually 15 minutes late and couldn’t get the deal. Why suggest it? When the toastie came, the chips had been forgotten, so I had the sandwich for starter, with chips coming 15 mins later, once I’d finished. No apologies from staff. The cheese in the toastie was nice, but at £8.75 for a cheese toastie I would expect some presentation, a sauce inside the sandwich, and chips included (rather than a bland and dry side salad with soggy rocket). It looked amateur. The chips were disappointing, too. Tasted like McCain’s, generic. Served with an empty bottle of mayo. And lastly, the bathroom stinks of damp. Disappointed. I expected good things from a Greene King.

Lovely little pub, not too expensive given it's location (about average). The selection of drinks on tap are great. We had small plates for food (even though they are small plates, they were very small compared to other pub small plates). It would be nice to see 1 or 2 extra of whatever food on the small plates. But regardless, nice pub, upstairs is nice.

Nice decor, polite staff, but absolutely terrible food (we were starving and left without eating almost any of it). Ciders were poured out of cartons (like cheap wine). Loud TV sports commentary was off-putting to us (in an almost empty pub), but may be a plus for others

Classic pub great location just off high street

Dirty, with flies abound, sticky walls, the lemon tart was a gritty liquid consistency, and smashed potatoes were pure grease. The cod looked okay, but at this point we feared the location and left after one bite of each item. I have always “cleaned my plate” but this establishment is flirting with health code concerns and unappetizing food that stole my appetite. We have been served this same meal at other restaurants in this chain. The other restaurant was excellent, while this one should be avoided.

Typical London pub, decorated in dark wood and leather, in front of Victoria station, a recommended stop for a beer (9pounds) and then order a taxi to the hotel, spacious and clean bathrooms, friendly atmosphere.

I am quite disheartened to write this review as the Duke of York was one of my favorite local pubs. I would like to emphasize the outstanding interior with the magnificent central staircase and the above average staff which would from time to time even take orders directly at the comfortable tables located upstairs which are flooded by big well lit windows. I have entered the Duke today with an expectation to watch the champions league final and after being seated for three minutes reorganizing my bag I was approached by the staff urging me to buy a drink. I have kindly suggested to place an order like I always do at the bar once the crowd would dissolve. My suggestion was refused and I was informed that if I wouldn’t place an order immediately I should escort myself out of the door which I decided to do. Remarking that I have never received any comparable treatment and especially not at my favorite Duke where I have watched many champions league games with friends enjoying meals and drinks I decided to switch venues. It is sometimes a shame how individual employees can ruin longstanding relationships in a matter of minutes. I found however the good in the situation and can suggest bonds on the opposite street side equipped with new screens and a wider food menu as an alternative if somebody does not entertain the risk of being escorted out of the door for settling in before placing an order.

Enjoyed having a pint with my wife the Dukes of York. Many people are enjoying a pint and smoke outside. The prices of pint was great.

Nice little pub located just off Oxford Street. Great atmosphere and it’s away from the crowds. We popped in to get a beer and use the toilets. Plenty of tables available on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly staff, clean and plenty of character.

The Duke of York, on the corner of Dering Street is a pretty little pub, close to both Oxford and Regent Streets. Part of the Greene king portfolio with all the offerings you would expect in one of their pubs. Lovely staff, offering quick, efficient and friendly service. Dominating the bar is a great spiral staircase leading to an upstairs seating area, looks terrific. Warm, cosy and welcoming!

Visited on London Marathon Sunday 24. Food was reasonable. I chose the pie. Service very good. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

When a city centre pub is empty at lunch time you know something is wrong. I’m guessing ownership or management has changed. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was poor. Undercooked chicken is never acceptable. I mentioned it to the waitress. As is par for the course these days nothing happened, not even an apology.

Classic pub atmosphere accompanied Of good food and drinks. Birthplace of the famous “Donatello Card” from decades ago, a cosy space in the basement as well as on the 1st floor.

Went in today and had to write a review as the standard of service was excellent… I had my dog with me and the kitchen and bar staff sorted me out some plain chicken for him as he was hungry…it’s the little things like this that go a long way… Ordered nachos too and was excellent quality but really all the bar staff were excellent and friendly… Thank you guys

Very beautiful pub however the beer was tasting quite off. I visited the pub with a group of friends and we all had tummy issues the day afterwards (that was the only pub we visited on the day and had just one drink each). Very strange as the place is clearly busy so it couldn't be that the beer was old, there must be an issue on how the beer is kept though!

The new menu delivered nothing like Facebook pic , steak sandwich was absolutely pathetic , sharing wings 😂 absolutely not for two Barely does one. Service is unbeatable as it’s self service. Location great. Shame they can’t execute the menu as promised in launch. Won’t be seeing you again 😂 Grand old Duke of York is lacking in the grand for sure.

Food was terrible. I sent it back, they accepted and took it back. When I went down for a refund the manager questioned me and said I was lying. The place is nice for drinks but do not get food at this location

Love finding pubs like this in London. Lots of nooks, well maintained, attentive staff, plenty of space in front of screens for the game, and a decent food offering. Tucked in a side street it was a glorious find on a Sunday stroll.

In today 24/1/24 for a couple of quick pints, well what can I say other than I don't think the staff know how to keep an ale. Started with 2 pints of Abbotts that smelt rank and didn't clear, looked like muddy water, changed them for the Green king IPA that tastes of vinegar, left both on the upside the peanuts were ok

Very good place. Staff are great, saw there was a medical emergency from another customer, and the staffs reacted very quickly to help and done all the right thing to provide 1st aids. They deserve a medal for this!

Had sharers and drink here after Christmas. Guinness terrible. Nachos were just thrown on the plate with basic sauce im guessing from a jar. Cheese virtually non existent. Like something a child would make. Onion rings. Anaemic looking with no taste. Definitely not returning.

Popped in this pub today and although it's well dressed for Christmas and had a lovely look to the place, the service was terrible. One member of bar staff (a glass collector at best) with a pub full of people, didn't know his bar or customer priority at all, and when i asked for a beer mat his response was "Im not sure what that is". Shame, better service would have seen 5 stars.

So nice that we found a table on a Sunday evening to ourselves at the basement. Mulled wine was lovely. Best sweet potato fries. Service was fantastic!!!!

The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my friends and I had a great time. Estrella de Galicia, the Spanish beer they offer, was a standout. Its crisp and refreshing flavor was the perfect companion to the relaxed ambiance. The food was equally impressive, with a menu featuring both traditional pub fare and some unique twists. I couldn’t resist trying their loaded nachos and cod fish & chips, it was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and flavorful toppings.

The staff, who had recently taken over the pub, were FANTASTIC. They created such a lovely environment for me and my daughter. They kept checking on her, and even asked the chef to make two chips for her to snack on. The beer was well looked after, atmosphere very nice, and pub very clean. I will be heading back!

This pub is our usual spot to chill after work. Today Ash the bartender is amazing! She’s really kind and friendly, and also the rest of the team tonight; need more of them in our lives. Also the manager Kaz, oh you will love her. She’s just adorable. That’s why we always keep coming back here.

Joli pub à l'ambiance top avec une salle en haut qui est sympa. En revanche, il ne faut pas y aller pour manger. On nous a dit de commander avant 21h. A 20h15 ils nous ont dit que la cuisine était fermée. Finalement ils ont accepté de prendre la commande. 1h30 d'attente pour être servi. On était 4, on a eu ensuite nos plats à 1/2 heure d'intervalle. Le steak & ale pie était complètement carbonisé. Il a fallu le refaire. Le bacon & cheese burger était sans bacon. etc. Awful! Et les serveurs pas très aimables... P.S. : votre réponse à mon commentaire, malhonnête, confirme mon appréciation. J'aurais même dû mettre 1 étoile de moins si j'avais pu penser que vous oseriez me faire passer pour un menteur. Il n'y a aucune ambiguïté sur le pub dont je parle. Pour vous rafraîchir la mémoire, nous étions 4 français, une famille avec une grand-mère de 80 ans. C'était le 16 septembre 2023 ! Je laisse les notes mises sans les dégrader malgré votre réponse. Mais, vraiment, vous êtes un pub dont il faut se méfier...
