Home cooked fresh food, delicious, tasty and hot. Two ladies serving were polite and nice. Asked halfway through meal to check all ok. Smiley faces from the staff, which is always welcome. Pub is dog friendly which is lovely. We didn’t take our dog this evening but will in future. A welcoming pub

Set in an attractive location in the village of Leasingham, The Duke of Wellington is a good looking old building with tables on the terrace and in the large beer garden for outdoor dining. The bar and table service were both run by a friendly and charming young woman who, in addition to bringing our food and drinks, also brought a couple of biscuits for our dogs. Their menu is printed on line, so we were already aware that it was fairly limited. From the three draught lagers - Carlsberg, Moretti and San Miguel, I chose a pint of Carlsberg, whilst my wife had her usual mineral water. We both chose the Scampi buckets as starters, followed by mussels for my wife and the steak and ale pie for me. It was a proper pie with a generous meat filling, completely encased in pastry - not one of those meat stews with a token slice of puff pastry on top. Accompanied by a large glass of Merlot, it was very satisfying, though I was not too keen on the triple cooked chips, which were typically stodgy Finished with a sticky toffee pudding, which was enjoyable. Lovely pub, very good service, worth a visit.

We went to this establishment for their Italian theme night. The female blonde waitress was friendly and took us to our table. She asked us if she get us a drink which we ordered and she brought them to us promptly and we ordered our meal. No starters - very disappointing Our main courses arrived. The Tuscan chicken dish arrived with water on the plate and lacked any presentation. The garlic bread was probably from a local supermarket but was fine. The salad was limp and disappointing. The mushroom risotto was the worst risotto I have ever eaten. I believe the risotto rice was just boiled white rice. The creamy and mushrooms (lack of mushrooms) was probably a tin of Campbell soup. The mushrooms were not fresh. The waitress did know the wines that they had available. The wine was better than the food. No desserts available - very disappointing The meal was very disappointing and bland. We paid our bill at the bar and as we left the staff were making comments to each other about us which we could hear. 4 members of staff on duty doing very little. The table of 5 next to us waited ages for their orders to be taken. Could have been so much better. Totally disappointing. Really need to rethink their theme nights and the staff they employ as well.

Our first visit to the Duke of Wellington since it was taken on by the local community. What a treat it was. Sunday lunch was outstanding, the service was excellent and the whole experience is certainly something that we will be back to enjoy again

Great to see decent food bring served again at my parent's local. Sunday lunch was brilliant value for £8.95, the beef and pork were tasty and were accompanied with plenty of nicely cooked veg (great mashed potatoes!), a clearly homemade Yorkshire pudding and as much gravy as you wanted. Desserts were even better, the cheesecake I am told was delicious and I can confirm the crumble was excellent! All washed down with decent ales and wine.

Have just enjoyed a delicious and reasonably priced lunch at “ the Duke”. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty- my choice today excellent home cooked steak and ale pie with veg and proper chips. Sadly too full to follow up with a delicious dessert on this occasion. The new menus are available Tuesday to Saturday lunch and evenings, with roasts on Sundays. I look forward to the next visit with family. The pub has a well stocked bar, a sports bar, a book corner, and friendly staff

Started with the pate. More than enough for 2 to share, which we did and it was delicious. My partner had Scampi, chips and peas, I had the Homemade Steak and Ale pie. What a treat, so much meat, locally sourced, the pastry was ' melt in the mouth' served with chips and peas this was a meal for hearty eaters. Too full for the dessert menu, but finished with great coffee from Stokes of Lincoln. We will be regular diners in the future.

Oh dear what a shame! Had a meal here recently but won't be returning. No chef but landlord in kitchen re heating food purchased from Booker's cash and carry. No "home made" cooking, poor quality produce and small portions. Unless they employ a chef and support local producers I for one will not be eating here again. Hopefully the villages who now own the pub will read and take note. Such a shame when such high hopes we're expected.

Have just enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch with family at this community owned pub. Food is currently available Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch, hopefully with more lunch/evening sessions to come. All our food was hot and tasty, nicely presented. This pub is also a nice friendly place to call in for a drink with a wide selection of beers and spirits, with very nice coffee now for the drivers/ non drinkers. Also has a sports bar and a book corner !!

This pub has recently been bought by the community and work is in progress to improve what was a tired and rundown pub. The pub now offers a good range of draught beers and ciders together with two ales. Food is not being served in the pub yet but those running the pub on behalf of the community have managed to get good food prepared in the car park. On our visit the pub was quite busy and had a lovely atmosphere. Although still a work in progress it is well worth a visit.
