Didn’t eat here, but did sink a few pints whilst watching France giving Ireland a Six Nations whipping. Classy pub with a great South Ken vibe.

Lovely staff, delicious food. Met friends with very young children (4 babies under 2). While the pub does have high chairs and will prepare child sized plates of certain dishes of note there is no separate kids menu, and no changing table or similar is available in the bathroom, so it’s perhaps not the most child friendly place in the neighbourhood, but overall we had a good experience.

We had a fantastic time at this bar while watching the Six Nations. Eve was so friendly and looked after us the whole time we were here, we felt so welcome and her service was incredible, so attentive and she made sure we had everything we needed. Food was also lovely and really fresh. 100% would love to come back!

Really surprisingly quiet on a Monday evening. Very nice atmosphere and excellent food. Not cheap but generally very good.

Magnificent!! To date, the pub where we have eaten the best in London (we have come to London many times), it is not cheap but it is well worth it to try typical dishes. A 10!!

I really enjoyed the Chicken ham and leek pie, broccoli, mashed potato, gravy. It was made with large pieces of chicken, and the meal was tasty. My only criticism was that only one cask ale was on sale. It was Young's Winter Warmer at 5%, which is OK for one or two pints. The two London Original (3.7%) pumps were not in operation.

I tried the Chicken Ham & Leak Pie . It was delicious. It came with broccoli , mashed potato and gravy . Big enough serving was very satisfied after it . Would definitely recommend to anyone who comes to visit here . We are in London for 5days and this was the best meal I tried . Staff are very friendly and polite . Lovely warm pub and can watch the live sports also .

We had a Christmas party here in December 2024 and it was absolutely brilliant. The price we paid for the set meal was good value, as the food was superb, with enough of a selection to keep everyone happy! George and his team were able to accommodate 18 of us, which was amazing, not only for the space required, but for the logistics of keeping all of us happy!! The atmosphere in the pub was great, and as more people filed in whilst the businesses nearby closed, it only got better. There is an excellent selection of wine, beer and soft drinks, the pub looks great (in an old fashioned London drinking den style!) and was decorated for Christmas brilliantly. I can't believe I've worked in the area for 10 years and never visited before - this won't be the last time I am in!!

I’ve been here many times but this is the 1st review. Went with friends to watch the rugby international, great seats, food was good and the service was excellent. It’s a really nice friendly pub, highly recommended.

Wonderful experience as our first pub dinner to start our trip in London. We were able to make a same day reservation, enjoyed friendly service and delicious food, and had a great table on Quiz night! The staff were very welcoming and attentive, even with a full house. The Duke burger and Fish and Chips were served quickly, hot and full of flavour. I chose Young's Winter Warmer to sip on while we answered trivia. Highly recommend a trip here.

Visited the Duke of Clarence for the first time yesterday to watch the rugby on a recommendation. The food was superb and the set up was great. Able to watch and hear the rugby while also easy for talking. Will definitely be heading back

Friendly service from Sam and the rest of the staff. Great cider and proper fish and chips. Even got to watch Palace on the tv. Don’t get to see them much on tv in the states so very cool experience over all. Just what I needed at the end of a very hard day. I will be back any time I can.

Fish and chips and the bangers and mash were good. Don’t get the meat sharers board - not worth £21 for a scotch egg, some pigs in blanket and a single chopped up sausage roll that all tasted like they’d been reheated.

One of my favorite foods in London, although the price is high if you are on a tight budget. But you can't miss the Sunday roast

Fantastic pub for lunch or dinner (we had both, visited twice). Staff were lovely and welcoming, food was traditional and impeccably executed, and decor was quintessentially English pub! An absolute must to visit!

Great pub near to Gloucester Road tube. 5 screens showing sport, one of them very big. Food was very good quality for what was a quiet day. Bar staff service was really excellent with on more than one occasion bringing drinks to the table rather than waiting at the bar. Interior is homely and well decorated. Two tables roadside if you want to be in the sun.

I had a fantastic experience at The Duke of Clarence thanks to the outstanding service from the bartender, Sam. The pub was also lovely setting to watch the football Euros. Highly recommend, top notch service!

Stopped in for a pint and had a really great time! The atmosphere was perfect, super chill (but not sleepy) with a great playlist. Our bartender Sam was great! Very friendly and easy to talk to. We’ll definitely be coming back here!

We had booked a large table for a pub lunch and had a nice time, although service could have been a bit more reactive. A part from the barman, other staff members looked half asleep and made us feel like a nuisance. This is isn’t a high quality gastro-pub experience as the website promotes. It felt like your standard drinks pub that happens to do fish & chips and a Caesar salad. They weren’t prepared to receive us, tables weren’t drawn together upon arrival, we didn’t have enough chairs and tables were all very sticky. A pub is a pub, but we had picked this one for a special gastro-pub experience, which it wasn’t at all.

Talia was wonderful to chat with, quick service and pleasant atmosphere. Great place to have a meal and watch Wimbledon.

I was hungry so I came for fish and chips. It turned out to be a very delicious and wonderful meal, just as I had heard. The ordering system is through an app, but as a Japanese person, I couldn't use my iPhone. We were treated by a wonderful staff.

Went there for a Sunday roast with family. Chicken and pork roasts were fine, not great, but at least edible. Beef roast was a disaster. I literally could not cut through the meat with my knife and the one tiny piece I was able to saw off, I needed to swallow as a whole… As it was medium rare, I am really wondering what quality of beef are they using? Pls change the supplier, or hire a new cook, or possibly both… Staff apologized for the bad quality but still charged for a full portion and 12,5% service fee (apparently I should have complained earlier, not at the end).

We waited 50 minutes to be told that they didn’t have mash for my hamburger, and also that because of that they hadn’t cooked my hamburger. That 50 minutes was the norm. They wouldn’t last a week as an American restaurant.

Excellent pub a stone's throw from South Kensington. We were there on Saturday evening, it's not the busiest evening but we ate excellently, the service was lovely and the prices reasonable...

Nice for watching a formula 1 race, though football had a priority over the race and we have to watch it on mute (the sound was from the other tv showing a match)

Popped in to watch the Arsenal vs Chelsea game and got amazed for the great atmosphere of mixed funs and a wonderful service that you don’t usually except in a sports pub. Ox cheek pie is a must try!!!

Booked a table at this pub, as was visiting the Natural History Museum with family and wanted to have a little bit of a lunch somewhere that wasn’t completely packed. Would thoroughly recommend. Lovely selection of beers and the food was great. On top of that, they showed sport across four screens, and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed.

Fantastic pub for watching rugby.

The side of broccoli was £6 and it was FOUR short measly pieces that looked very sad…… when stating this to the waitress she laughed 🤷‍♀️ we’ll go with awks laugh. It did taste nice though. My friend had the £17 burger, zero for presentation and it looked like a kids meal. Again tasty though.

Delicious scotch egg and great Guinness

12th March 24. Gone seriously downhill. Cannot remember worse service and food (we had seven meals) was cold, undercooked and tasteless. Really poor staff attitude, seems like they have lost their excellent manager. Could be a great pub, but service and food let it down. Service is mixed (sometimes good, sometimes like the staff are not interested) and the food is very expensive and average/poor.

I chose this pub because of its location near tube and museums yet far enough from touristic hordes of Cromwell Rd. Also informative website and easy table booking system. I was hoping for a pub not an overpriced gastro/ restaurant masquerading as a pub and was not disappointed. I was very happy with my choice as the 12pm booking meant the pub was uncrowded so the barman/server (charming and very obliging guy from Taunton) was able to move us to a quieter table (6 Nation rugger was about to start) so we could talk. Beer and food was excellent and service was attentive so didn’t object to 12.5% discretionary tip. Thougherly recommended.

Excellent- visiting from Ireland and booked a table to watch the rugby. The service, food and atmosphere were top class. Lovely staff so even though we lost the rugby match our visit was very enjoyable

Went here Saturday at lunchtime, wasn’t too busy and was a nice atmosphere. Food was great - recommend the sausages and mash. Staff were friendly and great service.

Decent pub with fun pub quiz. But there was a mistake on the bill, ended up being overcharged a couple of pounds. Waiter refused to refund me, claiming "it's only two pounds mate". It could've been 10p for all it matters, the pub had no right to overcharge me any amount. Local, but will not return.

Stopped in for a pint to watch a few football games. Great atmosphere. Arrived once with no booking for Liverpool Arsenal… wouldn’t recommend doing that for a big match but our server found a spot for us and attended to everything we needed. Returned a few times during the week and it was always fantastic

Had a quick dinner with my girlfriend, decent meal but what impressed me most was the service! Her name was jen lovely lady helped my very indecisive girlfriend pick from drink to dessert very impressed.

Flew in from the USA and had a wonderful Xmas eve at the Duke of Clarence. Wonderful pub with great atmosphere food and drinks. Highly recommended.
