Dug Out Cafe in Hastings

Just to add we will be coming back every week for breakfast. We loved our experience and the fact Star could come with us for her breakfast too, she loves her sausages Xxxx

Never before sampled the delights of a genuine Arments pie mash and liquor, but it has always been on my bucket list of food to try. I had heard of the Dugout cafe supplying the real deal and with my friend eventually got round to paying a visit. The cafe was a proper working cafe, which I liked. It was clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly. For a first time I really really enjoyed this meal. What is not to like about real homemade mashed potatoes. Real homemade minced meat pie ( the pastry was so tasty), and lovely liquor.. As a final touch plenty of pepper and Arments chilli vinegar. All washed down with a big mug of steaming tea. Also the price was very good value. Just can’t find fault. Definitely going again.

Paid but decided to just leave before food came out never seen such a filthy cafe. kitchen was a state covered in thick yellow grease my feet where sticking to the floor brown teaspoons. Just overall dirty. If you ever fancy eating in a squat this is the place to go

Avoid this place. 1) The service was very poor. It took way too long for our orders to be taken and then again for our drinks and food to be delivered. Also one of my friends ordered a mini cooked breakfast and the two main items she ordered, sausages and bacon, were both missing from her plate when it arrived. So she ended up being given a vegetarian fry up only (scrambled egg, beans, mushrooms & hash browns). 2) The food was average at best. 3) There was nothing in the toilet for you to dry your hands with. 4) The whole place looked like it could do with a good clean. The only good thing about the cafe was it meant we could escape the rain outside for a while.

Ordered a tea at the ramp ,waited for 10 minutes ,still no tea, still waiting for food order to be taken ,despite there only being one other customer ,in the ten minute wait I saw a grotty,run down cafe that needed a good clean , after 15 minutes I’d gave up ,won’t be going back

Absolutely brilliant breakfasts- great quality and great value. Everyone so friendly too and we were able to take our dog in who was very pleased with the sausage the waitress gave her! Would highly recommend - we are going back for the roasts and pie and mash next time.

Called in for the first time today, what a breath fresh air it was lovely fry up cooked perfectly and the two girls serving were absolutely fantastic and helpful

Had a lovely big breakfast today, really tasty and hot. Friendly staff. If you can get window seat you can see the sea. Would recommend a visit here.

We had breakfast yesterday, it was absolutely delicious, good quality ingredients used, the ladies were working so hard and were really lovely, we took our doggie too, we will be back again soon. Thank you

Good honest breakfast and great value for money. Nice and clean and I had a view of the sea from where I was sitting - The staff are lovely too and we’re very welcoming! I will definitely be back - keep up the good work!

We went in here today I had the cheese topped cottage pie it was lovely. One of the others had a dugout burger and chips it was huge and they really enjoyed it the other person had a big breakfast and also said it was really taste. The staff were friendly and polite would definitely recommend

Went in and an amazing liver and bacon freshly cooked friendly staff and for only £6.95 will definitely pop back to this cafe kids had burgers plenty of food and good value for money well done dug out cafe

Come to dugout cafe today and had a pie and mash and tasted great and also service was quick and staff was polite and friendly

This was the worst cafe in the world stay away it's just horrible more fat on plate than food horrible just horrible

Far be it from me to dig these very nice and friendly people out, but the roast beef I had in there, whilst cheap, was ‘’orrible. . ‘Nuff said! Shan’t be going again

They do a nice Sunday Roast here which when we had it was delivered to our door by the cafe at a reasonably price eg less than £7:00 a head. Tasty and all Hone-Made.
