Fantastic place. Great food and the nicest, friendliest and most helpful staff we’ve come across in a long time. I had Duckies rarebit with salad and proper homemade coleslaw. Delicious. Hubby had a mushroom omelette and a side of beans, equally delicious. Banana milkshake for hubby and a mango fruit smoothie for me. I would highly recommend Duckies, will be back again next time we visit Hayle.

We visited with two overtired toddlers and a dog. We were extremely impressed by the service, the waitress was very attentive and gave us colouring pencils to keep the kids entertained and their food came out very quickly. The dog got treats and our food was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Went for lunch in a family group of 6, looked after by the staff wonderfully from the start. All food and drink really good, prepared well with generous portions, we will definitely be returning as service like this is rare these days.

A real delight - modern & welcoming with quite a wide ranging Menu, depending on whether you want a quick snack Breakfast Bap, or something a little more interesting/substantial......It fits the bill! We went for a coffee as my friend lives in the area and I was visiting. She’s been many times and recommended it. We waited to be seated and although there were tables available inside we asked if we could sit outside which was fine. We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone came out to us (there are only 2 tables outside-right by the window). Then we waited nearly 15 minutes for two drinks. Two groups of people who arrived after us were served before us including the people who sat at the other outside table. The coffee was good but the service was disappointing.

Came with a few girlfriends for brunch, food was delicious and service was just as amazing, waiting staff were so attentive and kind. Coffee was good too :)

Wanted to grab a decent breakfast before setting off back home to Wales & came across Duckies as we passed by, baby was asleep, we sat outside in the fresh air so we were able to eat & enjoy our Cornish breakfast with a flat white & HUGE pot of tea for one (not complaining) it was all delicious & the staff were very friendly & helpful. Highly recommend this place, the menu for other meals looked/sounded great, if we happen to be down this way in the future we will definitely know where to come for great food.

Visited due to trip advisor reviews. Two Cornish breakfasts, one avocado on toast with fresh tomatoes. Coffees and a smoothie. Very nice and would visit again however some points to note: Coffee warm, not hot. Avocado sliced not mashed with no seasoning. Appreciate that persons like this dish in different ways but unfortunately it didn’t hit the mark with our son. We will no doubt call again as the staff were polite and food was freshly prepared within the kitchen which is visible.

Always my daughter’s favourite place for a treat. The service is relaxed and friendly, we are always made welcome, no matter how busy they are. The food is reliably delicious. The mushroom and Stilton bruschetta was particularly tasty with the maple syrup and balsamic dressing. It’s always a lovely experience and we will be back as soon as we can.

This is our favourite place to eat around Hayle. We had breakfast this morning and it was yummy!!! The coffee is the best around and the staff are so amazing and welcoming. Totally love this place it is definitely worth a visit :)

Turned up at the cafe out of the blue and had no issues getting a table. An easy decision was made to have a full Cornish breakfast with no beans and hog pudding. My goodness both my fiancée and I thoroughly enjoyed it, the breakfast was cooked to perfection, nothing was overdone tasted amazing, we will definitely return for more, staff are amazing and friendly and would recommend highly no questions 5 stars from us

Luckily got there early as it is popular. You will wait for your food as they cook it to order, but it's worth it. while you're waiting watch the serving hatch as you can see how much detail they put into their presentation. Brilliant service, brilliant food, nice one!

Excellent choice for a healthy and delicious breakfast, lunch or snack. Great selection of cakes and friendly warm welcoming staff. Great atmosphere. The breakfast is worth every penny and so was the pulled pork and stuffing bun. With so many great choices on the menu it was hard to choose. Have to keep visiting in order to try it all.

Fantastic breakfast with great quality ingredients. Really versatile for the kids to pick and choose off menu. Friendly, accommodating and allow dogs too. Perfect stop off to finish our holiday, highly recommended!

Not the fastest, but all cooked to order. Really good quality ingredients and slightly different offerings with a modern twist... Not a huge menu, but I feel all bases are covered. Nothing pretentious, just good food..

Stumbled on this place on our way to Carbis Bay and whilst it wasnt the fastest food it was worth the wait , the breakfast was full of locally sourced ingredients and i had the full english with extra toast and it certainly set me up for the day.

Consistently extra good food! Attention to detail and all prepared just for you. Mike and his team are very welcoming and accommodating and ensure a very happy atmosphere. Daytime only and closed Sundays and Mondays. Dog friendly.

Went for breakfast with the family and our dog. Immediately received a warm greeting and felt welcome. Staff went out thier way to help and nothing was too much, even gifting my dog with a large treat.Food was fantastic!! Really really good, quality ingredients and well made. With the open kitchen you could see the chef has a passion for what he does and that really shows in his food. Unfortunately this was our last day in Hayle else we'd have gone everyday. Large selection to choose from on the menu, this really made our morning. Thank you

Found this little cafe in Hayle whilst on holiday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food choices were excellent and very consistent as we visited their establishment 4 tomes. Each time the food was of a consistent high standard. Would recommend to anyone passing through Hayle.Will definitely visit again when in Hayle next year.

Long waiting time for food. Latte ordered with food and finished before food arrived. No condiments at table so requested Salt, and waited again..eventually had to go and get it myself. £16.10 for a breakfast for 1 with two latte’s. Shocking prices.

We had such a lovely experience in this cafe, can’t recommend it enough. The staff are absolutely delightful and so kind to my two little girls. The breakfasts were delicious, the ingredients were all amazing quality. Will definitely make the effort to go back when we next visit Cornwall.

Visited as a group of 3, had some very yummy food (poached eggs, sourdough toast, avocado, feta, that kind of yummy!) that satisfied both ourselves and the little one. Husband very pleased with the good coffee as well! Excellent service, very friendly. What more could you want?!

We ordered the poached eggs, avocado, roasted cherry tomato and feta brunch as well as the vegan brunch. The plates were beautifully presented and all of it tasted delicious. The staff were really friendly and we'd love to visit again.This is a great cafe for a vegetarian/vegan brunch and we would highly recommend if you're in Hayle, or as a quick stop before going to St Ives as we did.

Not suitable for takeaway even though advertised as eat in and takeaway. Ordered breakfast and a portion of chips and told would be 20 mins. 55 mins later finally given my order but realised when I got home it was the wrong order. Two portions of rarebit - both with coleslaw even though asked for without. It tasted ok but the portion was tiny and had to cook more food for myself anyway. Not the little weekend treat I was hoping for. Stick to eat in service if thats all the cafe can handle. After waiting almost an hour for the food I didnt have time to take it back and complain otherwise I would.

We ate here on the first morning of our holiday. The welcome was very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. We really cannot fault this establishment. The staff are welcoming and happy to assist with dietary requirements.

My other half and I came here for breakfast. I usually do not like fry ups but this one was delicious! A must if you are in Hayle.The staff are really lovely making it a lovely vibe in there. Looking forward to going back next year.

We found Duckies cafe on our last day in a Hayle and wish we found it sooner and would have definitely been our go to brunch/lunch spot for the week. Me and my boyfriend both chose Eggs Benedict as we struggled to choose what to order as everything sounded and looked amazing. The Eggs Benedict was by far the best we have ever had! We will definitely be returning if we are ever in Hayle. Staff were very friendly and lovely atmosphere.

Ordered two of the poached eggs with avacardo on toast great prices perfectly cooked 100% recommend it

Just walking past around two thirty pm and spotted the menu. Husband went for lamb special in a bun which was faultless. I wanted the Halloumi wrap but didn't fancy the bits that went with it so the chef came u with suggestions and adapted it to suit my taste ....so kind...so helpful and totally delicious. The place is spotless and eating outside in the sunshine was really lovely. Next time we shall go for an all day breakfast.

We visited last week and were lucky to get the last table for 3 available. Plenty of people arrived after but had to wait outside (covid19 health and safety are really well adhered to here). Menu is on a chalkboard and we opted for 2 full English and an eggs benedict which was one of the best I have ever tasted. The chef and waitress were very friendly and food an service brilliant. If I were a local I would be a regular in here. Great food at a really reasonable price!!!! If you are staying near here and want and excellent breakfast then look no further....

Visited three times for breakfast during our holiday in Hayle - great every time, especially enjoyed the sourdough toast! Mike and his team were always friendly, attentive and welcoming even with the necessary Covid restrictions. Great value for money and will certainly be visiting again - would totally recommend it.

Came here for breakfast and was not disappointed. I had regular breakfast and my daughter vegan breakfast which was impressive. They have lunch items also. Very friendly and accommodating and music was great with input from the singing chef. Hope to come back !!!

Had brunch here whilst on our Cornwall honeymoon, warm greeting from the lovely staff and incredible food! We had coffees (not sure what beans they use but very nice coffee) and I had eggs Benedict and husband had tomato, avocado and poached eggs on toast (T.A.P on the menu). The sourdough toast was lovely, perfect poached eggs, the bacon was nice, thick and perfectly cooked! Absolutely wonderful and very good value too we thought!

Only been once but was brilliant. Went with my partner on the eat out to help out in August and the our food came very quickly and had a lovely selection of drinks I would recommend to locals and people in holiday!

Lovely, tasty full cooked breakfast with yummy sough dough! - daughter had the vegan option and really enjoyed it. Good quality produce was noted and appreciated. All done with a smile and excellent service. Certainly set us up for our long journey back to the Midlands.

We had breakfast here this morning, we knew about the cafe after visiting last year and chose to come back before we left for home. Gluten and dairy free, vegan and also full meat options so everyone is catered for. We also appreciated that we were kept up to date with how long we waited for a table to come free, and that we got a cheery thank you and goodbye when we left. Dog friendly also!

Lovely cafe, we had a friendly greeting by the waiter who promptly prepared the table for us following previous customers. Limited menu but the food that is on there is very very good. We had beef brisket ciabatta and the honey glazed ham. Very nice! We bought a couple of the cakes on offer as we were leaving which we ate when we got home, they were delicious!

Did some research before choosing where to have some breaky then came across Duckies cafe! The coffee was proper real nice coffee and they offer syrups! I had the breakfast which was a mountain of heaven, ate every last bit and now ready to go back to sleep. Thank you for kick starting my day guys!

I love a good breakfast and this was not good, it was GREAT!! Or as my daughter exclaimed ‘Dad, this place was deliciously amazing!’ My wife LOVED her food and I nearly licked my plate (daughter said no!)It was a high quality, friendly, great value and unhurried breakfast. Will certainly be returning.

We came here because it was recommended. As usual the drinks arrived well before the food which when it came was alright though the sausages seemed more boiled than grilled. The cafe itself was cold and damp so we were not inclined to linger.

Popped into Duckies yesterday on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews. Wasn't let down as the service was top quality as was the food. They don't accept cards but that's not a problem as there's a cash point next door.

We used to visit Duckies very regularly when it was in the old foundry and Mike did all the cooking- we loved it and recommend it to everyone. Sadly since moving to the new place Mike hardly ever seems to be there and as someone else mentioned there is little or no greeting upon entering and the food just isn’t as good ( sorry Mike ) On one recent visit I complained about my food was offered no alternative or refund.I’m glad others are still enjoying Duckies and I can see the new situation makes it a better business bet as far as obtaining customers especially holiday makers but we now go elsewhere

Well above average food. Good for coffee, breakfast or lunch.Good service. Ended up going there a few times.The only issue we had was that the map showed the wrong location. It was a about 200 yards up the main road just past the bridge.Will we go back? 100% yes. Will be the first place we head to.

Over the years, it's generally been breakfast that I've had at Duckies - which have always been top notch. Mike takes great care in presentation and works hard to accommodate people's dietary requirements. The move to a larger premises seems to have given even more potential for a diverse and inclusive menu that looks positively mouthwatering. A really great little eatery.

This is a simple review ... visit this place if you want a freshly cooked delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff are most probably the friendliest bunch I have ever met! Eat here, I would strongly recommend you do.

We popped in today for lunch after seeing this place on trip advisor. What a little gem with friendly staff and delicious fresh food, it’s not your average cafe. Dog and child friendly and the food was spot on, we can’t wait to get lunch here again.

Called for breakfast before travelling home, a pre-made sign on the door says they will be opening slightly later than normal as they are setting up an event. On looking through the window the place looked deserted, hey-ho off to Asda!

No complaints at all. Came down for breakfast to treat my mum after hearing a few people rave about it and we were very pleased. Staff were all very friendly and the service was quick and all with a smile. Prices were amazing for what we got and the food tasted amazing. Definitely coming back.

Had a lovely breakfast here and it was well worth the money I paid. My only niggle would be that when we arrived we weren't acknowledged. We seated ourselves and waited whilst staff walked straight past us. I had to ask to be served. A simple smile or nod to say hi I've seen you although I'm busy would go a long way. Staff were friendly upon leaving and we would definitely come again but first impressions are important so I hope they can improve on their welcoming.

Having read the reviews, decided to give Duckies a go for lunch yesterday with my wife and my 3 year old daughter. So glad we did. It is very relaxed and informal and just has a great feel to the place.

Cosy little place with a seating of max 20 people but serving great food. We ordered the standard english breakfast, took its own time to serve but was really tasty. Absolutely loved the ambience and decor, although can do away with the light fixtures - looks too modern in a place which survived the test of time.

As a vegan coeliac I always worry when eating out and often feel embarrassed when explaining my needs, however I had a wonderful breakfast at Duckies today. The kitchen team went out of their way to ensure that I didn’t feel like I was missing out and replaced the items I couldn’t have with creative alternatives. Delicious! It was a busy Monday and I was never made to feel like I was an inconvenience and the food came hot and promptly. Thank you so much for looking after me so well and making me feel welcome. I can highly recommend this cafe, especially if you have people with dietary needs.

We were recommended to have our lunch in the Salt Bar by the Hayle library staff, We walked there but they dont serve food until midday and it was about 11.30. They recommended we walk back to Duckies which we had passed 5 mins earlier, We didnt go in as it looked like a regular caff from the outside and we wanted to try a new experience as it was our first time in Hayle.

I often frequent Duckys as it is THE BEST. Chorizo and sticky chicken was the last wow. Mike the main chef is fabulous,funny,and infuses the cafe with warmth and takes pride in both the food and being lovely to people. Excellent service with a smile from the brilliant waitresses. Always try the specials and ask chef what he'd eat.

I have just had the best salad ever in Duckies .

After reading the views I thought this would be great for breakfast, very disappointed, we were brought luke warm coffee sometime after ordering, didn't really want it nuked so drank it then waited 40 minutes for breakfast to arrive, nothing special other than cooked breakfast and it was, I would consider quite expensive. The staff gave no interaction (or a smile) with the customers and there was not one indication of where the food was sourced. Just a disappointing and empty experience.....

Stopped by with the family for some lunch, they didn't have the burger I wanted so I got the brunch option which was essentially a fry up. It was pretty tasty the eggs were poached perfectly. No complaints at all, will probably be coming back again.

Stopped here for brunch yesterday and will definitely make a return visit when we’re next down in Hayle. Staff are really friendly, food is reasonably priced and the ingredients are fantastic quality! Choice of eggs on the brunch, fried, scrambled or poached. My husband went with fried, I chose poached, both were perfectly cooked! I was absolutely stuffed! They don’t take card payments but the shop next door has a cash machine so not a problem. Highly recommend to anyone if they are in Hayle!

Had brunch for two coffee and cake £27,50 for something that was not great and slow service plus the radio was up at full volume but not tuned in so just a crackle.

The lunch we had in this cafe today was served with care and detail it was absolutely delicious. The menu is interesting and the service is brilliant. Highly recommend this lovely cafe.

I visited Duckies yesterday with my daughter for brunch. Very nice inside, clean and welcoming. Staff friendly and smiley as we entered. We ordered a toastie and a jacket potato, a cappuccino and a hot chocolate. There was the option to have oat milk which is always nice as my daughter prefers non dairy. The food came quite quickly and was very tasty. I had the toastie which was cheese and chutney, served with a lovely side salad and very nice homemade coleslaw. My daughter had the jacket with beans and cheese, which was not huge but came with the same salad and coleslaw. The only let down though, was the coffee. I have attached a photo in which I have not drunk any but removed the bubbles. Blimey, it was not nice. Far too hot which made it bitter with a very small layer of thin, watery bubbles. And where was the rest of it?! When I go out for coffee I do expect to get a full cup. I think maybe a little barista training might be in order. Shame as otherwise would have been 5*.

This is a lovely, little cafe overlooking the estuary. We had a delicious lunch from the specials board and will be back to try the cakes. Clean, friendly and welcoming - the perfect place for a spot of lunch.
