Stayed in the new accommodation. Alan was great. Really nice guy. Nowhere else in London you’d get this quality of room and breakfast included for such a great price. Really impressed. We normally stay in the main hotel in Battersea (art’otel) but they stupidly wanted £700 a night for a room.

We had a fantastic meal and experience at the Duchess Belle. In fact, we came back for a second time in a week. Archie was the barman and he was super helpful and more than friendly. This is a must stop in the Battersea area. Seems like the management really wants you to have an outstanding experience. And we did!

Wow! What a surprise. The building sates back to 1800's bit the external view suggested that there was something different going on here ! All very modern inside, with flower walls and ceilings amidst glass chandeliers! It's a real eclectic mix. Welcoming, efficient, and friendly staff. Not a huge menu but it is very popular. I only stayed for a drink as had eaten before, but I had to stop in here on the way from the new Power Station site, on way to tube.

I'm not usually one to complain or write bad reviews, but this place deserves special mention for what was almost definitely the worst pub/restaurant experience of my life thus far.Firstly, after the 6 of us were sat down upstairs, it took over 25 mins for a server to ask us for any drinks, with tables around us that had arrive later being served before us, In the end we had to go downstairs to ask for someone to come up, they eventually did. Insult was added to injury when we saw the table next to us had 8 people on it , a clear breach of rules and a bit annoying giving we had let down some of our friends who wanted to come.We ordered 3 bottles of prosecco as they were half price as well as our food. Another 30 mins then passed, I am aware pubs have just reopened and it is busy, but to sit in what is a pub and wait over 45 mins to get a drink is ridiculous. I then asked a nearby server (small middle aged woman) if she could look into where our drinks were as we had been waiting over 45 mins and if they had forgotten the order, she then proceeded to laugh at the prospect we had waited that long, patronised me about it and laughed in my face, at one point even tapping me on the shoulder laughing saying "Oh . Come on" . I then asked if she could bring her manager up as tbh i was pretty seething, needless to say the manager never came. The drinks were then eventually brought up and we got on with our night, unfortunately matters only got worse when the food was brought out.(Now 1hr 30 since we entered the pub).I have attached photos ....I understand it is a pub so i don't expect Michelin star cooking but I expect a lot better than what I received. Having paid 18 pound for the Philly Cheese Steak I expect it to at least be edible. My friend ordered a burger and got an equally distasteful meal. All of the other meals were equally poor and lukewarm, only have photos of a couple.I cannot stress to you how bad it was, I am by no means a food snob i will eat at roadside cafes , burger vans etc and enjoy it, it takes a lot for something to be inedible for me, but please never eat here. For the price you pay around 20 per main, you can do a lot better at Mc Donalds and get your food 10x quicker

Shocking experience all round. Had to wait 30 minutes just to get served and we had to call them over for that service. A bottle of Prosseco took 45 minutes to arrive and when it did, the glasses didn’t. Had to wait another 15 minutes for the rest of the drinks to arrive. Food arrived over 90 minutes after we ordered and was shocking to say the least, I expect they are served better food in Wandsworth prison! (Images of food on reviews are not accurate to the food they are serving now)Sent a meal back as it wasn’t edible and was cold, didn’t receive the replacement meal until when we were walking out the door. Asked one of the servers for an update regarding our food and drinks, only for her to say we haven’t been waiting x amount of time and told us to be patient, condescendingly tapped my friend on the shoulder, laugh and walked off. Asked to speak to the manager but they never arrived. Avoid at all costs, would recommend eating beans on toast off the floor in the middle of the high street instead.

Great venue to watch the sports, Esp the champions league/football...Good selection of beers on tap.Would definitely go/come again to watch the sports and a pint...On a negative......, the food is very expensive for what it was, hardly worth the money. My cheeseburger was around the £13 mark, and just a pattie, tiny bit of salad, and that was about it. My mate had a hot dog around the £9 mark & the bun was frozen/microwave defrosted, and overpriced even though German sausages apparently....They need to improve the food offer/standard also unfortunately there were only two staff working that night, the bar was very busy so there was a long wait for drinks, you’d think they'd have extra staff on re big sports event.... Also a couple of people not drinking anything standing by the door watching the game, so perhaps should have security of some sort the freeloaders from coming in...

After looking at the website we booked for a roast with all the trimmings, we turned up and the place was empty if not pretty. The pub said on its website that it sold craft ale and beer...the selection was sma. The menu description for the roast was fabricated and when eating it... underwhelming. Apart from the pretty interior...food, drink and service was poor. I'd give it a miss and try the Latchmere or the lighthouse if in Battersea.

To set the scene – it’s a Sunday, raining cats and dogs, and the desire for a hearty and wholesome Sunday roast was immense. My friend and I opted for this pub as it was just down the road, and their website looked nice. I had called ahead of us walking over, and I stated clearly: “A friend and I would like a Sunday Roast, would that be possible for you?”, someone replied “yes” and I tried to ask “and do you have roasts left?”, but they hung up. I assured my friend that they probably did have roasts left, because when I said I wanted a roast, they didn’t say that they were out of any roasts.

Having visited here previously for early evening supper I booked the terrace bar for our monthly work event and cannot recommend this venue, the owner and the staff highly enough. Even with last minute additions to the attendance, the team were superb and delivered three courses effortlessly to our group. The room is a superb venue for private events, fully self-sufficient with a bar and bathrooms and the excellent terrace overlooking the power station is also wonderful, particularly on a beautiful sunny evening as we were lucky enough to have yesterday evening. Excellent value for money with a huge selection of beers, real ales, ciders and wine, the food was hearty, and tremendous portions and I've had nothing but compliments from my colleagues today for finding such a great place. Yassin, the owner, is an excellent and professional host and looked after us with his team from start to finish. We will definitely be returning!

I hired this venue for my 40th on a Saturday night. We had exclusive use of the whole of upstairs (a big room, private bar and massive balcony... and toilets!). It was a terrific venue in terms of space and flexibility, particularly given all the weather possibilities in August, and was excellent value for money. Both managers who helped me to arrange the catering were extremely helpful, giving practical advice on what/ how much and anticipating potential issues before they came up.Both bar staff who were on duty upstairs that night were incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped to put up decorations (and take them down) and offered a really proactive service to me and my guests- staying out of the way when necessary while keeping everyone topped up. We held our recent wedding reception (8th July 2017) at the Duchess with exclusive hire of the entire venue. Absolutely beyond ‘exceptional’ from the very first mention of a potential booking through to our last guests leaving for the night (and on reflection, beyond!).The Manager, the Assistant Manager and the entire bar staff team are truly ‘second to none’!We had a couple of meetings with the management to plan the day in the months leading up to the day. This was invaluable for us to ensure all bases were ‘covered’ as such and to my surprise I often left, not only with an even stronger sense of confidence that our wedding day would go without a ‘hitch’ (pardon the pun!) but surprisingly I always left with bigger and better suggestions to enhance my plans, very often for things I perhaps hadn’t thought of, whether relevant to the reception or the wedding beforehand. I cannot thank the team at the Duchess enough! The venue itself is just beautiful! The outdoor flowers are in abundance and so pretty too. The main bar is quite something and leaves all other local places paling insignificantly. The fairly grand staircase leads to the upper level of the venue which is truly stunning, adorned in light from the ceiling to floor windows leading out to the large balcony area overlooking Battersea Power Station – a view any photographer would be keen to make use of – amazing! This upstairs part of the venue also has a bar and ample WC’s for guests. The final part of the venue, the very reason I chose it, is the decked back garden area. Our July wedding was absolutely perfect to make good use of this pretty little suntrap. Again, the pretty outdoor floral arrangements were in abundance. We chose to have a more relaxed wedding reception and therefore opted to have the chef undertake a BBQ in the garden. The set up for which was extremely well organised by the Duchess. The food produced at the Duchess in general exceeds any we’ve ever tried locally (their Sunday roast is to die for!) and our BBQ was no exception, a very far cry indeed from the stereotypical BBQ style foods usually served at a large scale event. Our guests are still talking about the food having been the best BBQ they’ve “ever had” – a real compliment, given very many of them are real ‘foodies’.The management were also upfront and honest about all costs. We know of venues that have hit friends of ours with charges at the last minute for things like cutting up the wedding cake, so it was great to be treated so fairly and to feel clear minded on something I know can very often become such a burden. Both my husband, Elliot, and I cannot thank each and every one of the staff at the Duchess enough for what was truly the best day of our lives! Despite several curveballs (from us, guests and suppliers!) everything was managed so carefully and with absolute focus by the team that we can truly say our wedding day was exactly what we wanted and yet also beyond all our expectations. All of our guests have taken the time to speak to us since specifically to compliment us on their experience of the reception party at the Duchess and many of the well-seasoned wedding guests have labelled it the best wedding reception they have ever been to – what greater compliment is there! If you are looking for a venue to hold an event in Battersea we cannot recommend the Duchess enough, a rare gem amidst the chaos that so often London can feel! Its relaxed and friendly environment is something often lacking in the bars/pubs of Battersea combined with amazing food and exceptional service that is truly second to none that I have experienced in my many years as Directors PA/Office Manager arranging hundreds of events both in London and beyond.Thank you!!Stefanie and Elliot

Staying in Battersea we searched for somewhere nearby as the London weather was not too kind to us. Visited the Duchess early evening and it was very quiet. We ordered two meals of ham egg and chips and fish and chips. The chips were described on the menu as home-cooked however ours certainly looked and tasted like frozen chips. The food was good although we did think it expensive for what we had. Two meals, two pints and two glasses of wine was just short of £60. Also noticed a service charge added to the bill which I could expect in a restaurant but not in a pub? Sadly we would not return as we found better value places in the area.

This was such a refreshing visit. It is a small personal restaurant where you feel you are being taken care of by the proprietors. They were so friendly and attentive. The food was good and seemed like what I would expect from a classic English Pub. We were there on Tuesday and were able to enjoy the Tuesday Burger special... choice of 7 different Burgers. Hubby had the Lamb burger, I had the soft shell crab. Both were delish. He had 'proper chips' and I had sweet potato chips. Both were really good. Fresh buns with interesting finish. We didn't have dessert, but the adjacent table had ice cream in several different flavors that they seemed to really enjoy.

We have been at this beatiful pub for lunch. It is located near the Battersea Power Station which is famous as it was on the cover of Pink Floyd's album 'Animals', on which it was photographed with the group's inflatable pink pig floating above it.The food was delicious, we had fish 'n' chips and a Truman's Pale, the service was very good, friendy and attentive.

What an amazing pub the Duchess is in Battersea. I hired the pub for a private party and I was not disappointed. Firstly the pub itself is decorated beautifully. It's clean, sharp and sophisticated, all the guests commented on the venue. The Manager and bar staff were so helpful on the run up to the party and the night itself. There were many options of food choices for our guests and again, everyone commented on the quality and presentation of the food on the night. The staff organised a fantastic DJ for the event and there is also a quirky terrace out the back which I bet is heaving in the summer months. A great find, I would thoroughly recommend to others for a private function.

We booked the upstairs function room for our end of year sales meeting. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and has been decorated to a very high standard. All the staff are lovely and friendly with a great atmosphere, both in the function room and at the bar plus, great food and fine wines. Would highly recommend.

We love coming to the Duchess (2 minutes from our place). Pie Monday is a great deal! They have other great food deals throughout the week. (Steak 2 for 1 on Wednesday and traditional roast on Sunday)

There is so much new development happening in Battersea that this traditional old pub, situated adjacent to the enormous Battersea Power Station development, now sits almost on it's own in a location that you would probably not be naturally drawn to. But don't let that put you off.The pub is an architectural beauty. Good staff, great beers and wines and very good food will ensure that you have an enjoyable time.We used the function room upstairs for a team meeting before retiring downstairs. We couldn't have been happier with the experience.Highly recommended.

We've held our staff Christmas parties at the Duchess and are always really happy with the service provided by Toni, Yassin and the team who work so hard to make sure that everything runs smoothly. The team at the Duchess are so friendly and helpful and make organising the party really easy - they are very flexible when it comes to food choices and the party food this year has been the best we've had. Everyone has a great time, and goes away with a big smile on their face. As someone who has also visited the Duchess on many an occasion for lunch I can also recommend their lunch menu!

We enjoyed a well cooked and tasty Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago. The pub was busy so we had to wait a little for our lunch, we should have booked! It was a treat to enjoy reasonably priced, great food served by friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend the food, sorry can't advise on drink as we were driving.

Visited this pub as we were just walking past and thought it looked nice. Only intended on having one quick drink in there and going but ended up staying here all afternoon/ evening. A great selection of drinks and spirits, pub has a great set up with get attention to detail with the decor and atmosphere. Was a shame that we didn't have a meal as we had already eaten Sunday Dinner but every meal that we saw looked great so will have to go back for that if we are in the area again.

Hired out the Duchess for a work event which included more than 70 people in the function room Since I first started organising the after party drinks I have been in contact with Yassin; he has been excellent to deal with and made the process as simple as possible. Information was returned quickly to me, organisation and coordination of the event was perfect and he was very patient in rather uncertain times. As for the event, everything was perfect and everybody who attended had a great time. The food was delicious and went down an absolute treat and the staff were very friendly and hardworking. I would certainly not have any issues recommending the pub to friends.

We had a 70th birthday party, upstairs at The Duchess and were given first class treatment by all the staff, even though they were busy with clients in the downstairs bar and garden.Everyone enjoyed all the food. The Sunday Roast was well presented and had a large variety of veg. Delicious, tender meat ( pork beef andchicken) and also when we had roast lamb there, on another occasion, it was the same very high quality. The bar staff were very attentive, clearing the tables rapidly and even making sure elderly guests got the best taxi deals, by speaking personally to the drivers. The Duchess is well managed and one of the most delightful pubs in London. When the upstairs terrace is open, it'll be The Best ( I know because we had a party there 6 years ago before the building had to be renovated-wonderful)

Duchess is a nice pub, the food is great the drink selection is huge. Only a couple of easily fixed downfalls. The girl behind the bar was VERY rude and unhelpful (not only towards our group but everyone in the venue), the fellow was great so we opted to be served by him instead. There are a few statues and other bits around the pub which give it a funny vibe. The two very large unmissable photos of the naked women are great pieces and I can appreciate the art but not so sure they belong in the pub. The whole place give mixed feelings of what it's trying to be. The owner obviously has very mixed visions and can't decide if the place is a high class gentle mans club or a great little local for good food and good booze.. On the plus side there is a lovely little fire place, would be great if it was lit though !! Was quite a rainy chilly day and would have added to the experience.Hopefully over the years the Duchess will find its feet and figure out what it wants to be, then its punters can really sit back relax and enjoy.

Visited the Duchess for only the second time over the Easter weekend despite living down the road. The food is amazing, table service which is unusual for a pub. And extremely good value for a quality London pub with mains around a tenner. Best macaroni cheese I've ever tasted. Great selection of ales/cider. Always surprised that its not that busy, hopefully it will be after the power station development is done! Go Visit!

Went with 4 friends for lunch last Sunday, all of us had Sunday roasts - 3 beef, 1 pork and 1 lamb. All of them are delicious!!! The portion size is big - the meat comes with cauliflower cheese, cabbage, broccoli, carrot and swede mash, roast potatoes, parsnip and Yorkshire pudding with a little stuffing ball inside and a little sausage wrapped in bacon. Yummy... and all for £12-£13! Very highly recommended. Good selection of beers on tap too. The only reason why last Sunday's trip was not a 5-star is because of the waitress. She warmed up to us throughout the meal, but she was stand-offish at the start, seemed not interested in serving us. One example - she walked away from our table before one of my friends finished his sentence!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a roast here on Sunday after being persuaded by one of the staff outside that it was a "brilliant roast". I often find roasts in London to be too much style over substance however this was absolutely delicious! The pub was quite empty however the staff were very friendly and we were made to feel comfortable. We would definitely go again if in the area

First time I've been back since about May. Was very disappointed, I used to drink in the Duchess frequently till I had to move suddenly. I was expecting the same wonderful bar staff and food. The food was still on point and extremely tasty !! Unfortunately I wasn't greeted when I walked into the pub and was left waiting while the girl behind the bar finished her conversation before bothering to serve me. Found the young woman stand offish and rude, as I asked for a larger instead of receiving suggestions, I was rudely told "we've got heaps of those" leaving me to feel stupid for asking. As the food is so good and it is my first bad experience I will return to give it one more chance, but am hesitant to take anyone with me, will have to see how the next visit goes.

Being a northern girl I do love a Sunday roast. Living in London for over 2 years now I have yet to find one that ticks all the boxes. This is right up there! The price was £12.50 for the I'm beef. TickI was asked how I would like the beef cooked. Tick. The plate came with two big slices of perfectly cooked beef. Tick.Along with the beef came cauliflower cheese, green cabbage, red cabbage, broccoli, carrot and swede mash, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with a little stuffing ball inside and a little pig wrapped in bacon. Big tick!!The plate wasn't missing anything! It was all cooked superbly and had flavour!I only wish I asked for more gravy, but that's standard. My friends enjoyed theirs too, it was not a fluke. After I couldn't help myself and I got the chocolate brownie with ice cream. Also delicious. So happy I tried this little pub. I will be returning!!!

Typical Sunday roasts but well above average food in terms of quality of food, quantity and price. Honestly the food was enough to keep you going all day. Good selection of beers on tap too. Service with a smile and not too busy - though not a big pub and not so many tables so you might want to book ahead to guarantee a spot.

Love this little gem in the style of an American Diner, always friendly staff and very smart surroundings. And you can get a delicious pastry or bread to go!

We were looking forward to dinner as a family in a restaurant with decent European food. Unfortunately they have changed the decor from what’s in the pictures to something much cheaper, which was a shame. Then we were presented with a Bar Menu for dinner with only burgers and sandwiches for dinner in a restaurant. Disappointed, we carried on and ordered the Chicken Burgers, one was burnt and one had the wrong sauce. They kindly took them back but then replaced them with what looked like the same burgers. The prices were also extremely high - restaurant prices for bar food! Unfortunately we won’t be back.

The restaurant is located directly on the Thames and has a circular floor to ceiling glass layout. The ground floor is essentially a coffee shop that serves meals and the first floor is a restaurant. An ideal place for a relaxed meal. Good food, friendly staff, and excellent views of the river. The breakfast pancakes are not to be missed.

Such a beautiful town! The castle is a fantastic experience, staff were so friendly and helpful. The displays were stunning and well displayed, lovely to see. We were on a tour so couldn't spend as much tie as we would have liked. Highly recommend, hope to come again.

Went for a birthday celebration. Our usual dining preference is a definite cuisine with homestyle cooking and no pretension. Once a year or so we do a fine dining option. She is vegetarian, I am less fussy. I am a good home cook, she works in the restaurant trade and we are sympathetic to current difficulties. We didn’t need to be so here; OK so I usually blench at the sight of a man tweezering food and waitstaff that serves the first course with “Let’s start our journey”,; it often signals a night of pretension and not much else, but this was excellent cooking and service to back it up. There is a £65 four course menu and a £85 tasting menu incl a veg option. We had the 4 course. Yes the portions are small, its not quite the ‘bag of chips on the way home’ scenario but its not gluttony either and ‘langoustine’ is exactly what it says. One langoustine, £15 additional option, doubtless because of the dab of caviar on the top of it, but it was the most perfectly cooked specimen I have ever had. They don’t travel well and often past their best before they arrive at a kitchen. The brioche melted in the mouth, the risotto was al dente but not raw and the parmesan crisp on top of it had obviously taken a lot of work, a sea bream ceviche was seriously fresh and beautifully balanced. The monkfish delicate and moreish. The wine list is expensive but that’s how it is these days – deal with it. The (presumably) head chef with the tweezers had obviously put in a lot of hard work in prep before he picked them up. Watching the kitchen staff in the open kitchen you saw zero macho heroics and a lot of surefooted care. The room wasn’t full all night and so I cannot vouch for the noise level past that, but mercifully no-one had turned up a ‘curated’ playlist. Service was attentive without being obsequious; you don’t usually get a recommendation for a Ukrainian ‘shots bar’ at the post dinner chat – we will check it out on a less refined evening. Really enjoyed it, you would be hard pressed to find better at this style of cooking and certainly not at this price level. Definitely worth a visit. Damn fine stuff.
