What a lovely find! Stopped off in Builth for some lunch and saw cafe sign so thought we’d take a look. So glad we did. On entering the quaint characterful Tea rooms we were welcomed by a lovely lady who treated us with courtesy and friendliness and made us feel very welcome. Food was excellent ,reasonably priced, plentiful and of great quality. Definitely recommend and definitely going back.

We visited this wonderful place this morning as my wife and I are doing flower deliveries to the shop next door, we wanted somewhere to sit and eat as we have to drive back to Kettering and we wasn't disappointed. The food was freshly cooked, the eggs PERFECT, and the bacon, trust me on the bacon!!! Very reasonably priced, in fact value for money. If your in the area and just fancy a lovely cooked breakfast, then I highly recommend The Drover Tea Room.

This family run establishment is doing a fantastic job serving the local community and visitors (like us). We had home made broccoli and stilton soup and lamb cawl. Both were top class, served with warm crusty baguette. All the staff were really friendly and prices were very reasonable. Sadly we didn't have time to call in on our way home, but we will definitely be back.

You always find some thing nice to eat here - it’s been a long time since I was last here, but it’s nice to return. I had the Tucsan Chicken which came with garlic bread. It was really nice, but to be honest there was just slightly too much of it, and because I was in a rush I didn’t finish it. Maybe next time I’ll try and plan better so I can enjoy here a bit longer.

This place is sooo grubby. The carpet tiles are peeling up and very dirty. The paintwork needs a good clean. Everything is drab and grubby and dusty. I hoped the standards in the kitchen were better. I just felt a bit icky sitting in there My breakfast sausage roll was accompanied with a tiny salad., The sausages were of ok quality. But there was nothing with them, mo onion or even butter on the rather dry roll. My coffee was not good. My friend had poached eggs on toast. The eggs were like bullets and the bread was soggy and she couldn’t eat it. She said her cappuccino was tasteless apart from the abundance of chocolate powder on the top

Very disappointing breakfast. Took 25 minutes for the breakfast to come, by which time I’d already finished my coffee. I ordered another coffee & it never arrived, so I ate my breakfast with no drink. The breakfast was bang average with the bacon being over cooked & the sausage tasteless.

For us, and many of our friends, who don't eat meat, fish or processed junk such as the usual offerings of vegan burgers, pizza or pasta, it can be very difficult to eat out. We were visiting Buith Wells, and came across the Drovers Cafe, which had a home made Mushroom & Red Pepper Stroganoff and a homemade chili or curry. I can't eat anything with even a little chili in it, so when I spotted the Stoganoff, I was delighted and thanked the chef for offering this as an option. Both dishes were £9.95 and tasted delicious. Although my hubby did say the chili was very spicy and his face was quite red and sweaty after he finished lol! We sat in the lovely garden, and although I remembered to take photos, I forgot to take photos of our food - too eager to tuck in :)

We called in this tea room on our way to our holiday , the menu is very limited and the only thing on the specials board was sausage egg and chips not very inspiring at all . There were two members of staff who seemed to be getting into each other’s way and complicating the orders . My husband had the Welsh breakfast and the sausages were awful and one of them had been deep fat fried so it was very greasy and the other seemed to have been cooked in the normal way so that’s a bit of a strange one as never experienced that before and the rest of his breakfast was very forgettable . I had the egg and bacon bap which was ok but left an aftertaste in my mouth which was unpleasant . I had the coffee cake which looked homemade but certainly didn’t taste it . The staff also want to look up how to make a flat white coffee as they obviously have no idea .

Arrived at lunchtime, into a lovely plant-lined garden, akin to an Edwardian grotto. Ordered 2 ham salad sandwiches - “salad would be on the side”. Interaction with the staff was strangely cold, giving the impression they had bitten off more than they could chew. We had not however. The sandwiches were small, on cottonwool slices of white bread and made with the cheapest margerine and a not overly generous slice of ham: welcome to the ‘70s. Nanotechnology appeared to be responsible for the side-salad which was miserable, this was accompanied by 6 Pringles. We left to the sound of other potential customers being told that the full tea-room was closed -hadn’t they read the sign on the door! With a focus on quality of the food and a bit of customer relations training this place coud be lovely.

Open from 9am to 3pm we only just made it on our trip from North Wales to Bristol as we found out when we left. The place is very cozy and there was a nice selection of cakes and pastries for the 5 of us, with pots of tea all round. They also serve larger meals too, and a group of local guys who came in just after us seemed to enjoy tucking into a late lunch. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Recommended place to eat.

Quaint teahouse. Looks like it splits into two so they serve meals too but we had cake and drinks. Hot Chocolate could have been creamier and frothier but that's probably cos I'm used to Starbucks etc. Food was lovely and cake scrummy!

We have been visiting The Drover's for around 25 years. As a full Family initially, now just the two of us. Peter and his Team never disappoint. The welcome is always friendly and we do enjoy a modest pre Lunch drink in the cosy snug out the back. The views of the river are spectacular. It was a bit chilly to be sitting outside on the balcony but one brave chap did take his coffee out there! The food, well, you can't call it 'just Sunday Lunch! It's a foodie treat! Plenty of beautifully cooked food. Always hot and tasty. The quality is certainly there as well. Cannot fault anything and the Sweets are to die for! The atmosphere is invariably pleasant. A good mixture of Walkers, Holiday makers and Locals. Thanks so much for everything over the years Peter. We're already in the process of booking next year's trip to Wales, so keep an eye out for an email soon!

Our first time here this morning. From the minute we walked in we was welcomed and seated. All staff were welcoming. Myself and fiancé ordered a full English, food was lovely not one fault and clear plates. I had a cappuccino which was tasty and perfect. We were approached and asked if everything was okay during our meal. We paid with cash and left a tip as we were very pleased. We will definitely be attending again on our next stay.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Great place and food. Came here after other places were booked up. I'm glad they were because we had a lovely meal.

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
